Banxia Xiexin Decoction Alleviated Cerebral Glucose Metabolism Disorder by Regulating Intestinal Microbiota in APP/PS1 Mice

Objective To identify whether Banxia Xiexin Decoction(BXD)alleviates cerebral glucose metabolism disorder by intestinal microbiota regulation in APP/PS1 *** Forty-five 3-month-old male APP/PS1 mice were divided into 3 groups using a random number table(n=15 per group),including a model group(MG),a liraglutide group(LG)and a BXD group(BG).Fifteen 3-month-old male C57BL/6J wild-type mice were used as the control group(CG).Mice in the BG were administered BXD granules by gavage at a dose of 6 g/(kg·d)for 3 months,while mice in the LG were injected intraperitoneally once daily with Liraglutide Injection(25 nmol/kg)for 3 ***,liquid chromatography with tandem-mass spectrometry was used to analyze the active components of BXD granules and the medicated serum of ***,the cognitive deficits,Aβpathological change and synaptic plasticity markers,including synaptophysin(SYP)and postsynaptic density protein 95(PSD95),were measured in APP/PS1 *** glucose uptake was detected by micropositron emission *** microbial constituents were detected by 16S rRNA *** levels of intestinal glucagon-like peptide 1(GLP-1)and cerebral GLP-1 receptor(GLP-1R),as well as the phosphoinositide-3-kinase/protein kinase B/glycogen synthase kinase-3β(PI3K/Akt/GSK3β)insulin signaling pathway were determined by immunohistochemical(IHC)staining and Western blot analysis,*** BXD ameliorated cognitive deficits and Aβpathological features(P<0.01).The expressions of SYP and PSD95 in the BG were higher than those in the MG(P<0.01).Brain glucose uptake in the BG was higher than that in the MG(P<0.01).The intestinal microbial composition in the BG was partially *** levels of intestinal GLP-1 in the BG were higher than those in the MG(P<0.01).Compared with the MG,the expression levels of hippocampal GLP-1R,Akt,PI3K and p-PI3K in the BG were significantly increased(P<0.01),while the levels of GSK3βwere reduced(P<0.01).Conclusion BXD

Body size induced changes in metabolic carbon of soil nematodes under N deposition and precipitation regime change in a temperate grassland

Background Global climate change has resulted in precipitation regimes exhibiting an increasing trend in rainfall intensity but a reduction in its frequency. Nitrogen(N) deposition is a crucial component of the global N cycling. Nematode body size is a trait that responds to climate change and is used as a standard trait-based indicator in soil community analysis. Variations in body size influence metabolic carbon(C). We examined the ways by which body size and metabolic C of nematodes respond to changing precipitation regimes and how N deposition regulates these responses by an 8-year manipulative *** Nematode body size was indicated by the community-weighted mean(CWM) mass. We quantified C metabolism components of soil nematodes including production C, respiration C, and corresponding C use efficiency(CUE) under different precipitation intensities and N addition in a semi-arid steppe on the Mongolian Plateau. The Mantel test was used to determine the correlations between CWM, CUE and environmental factors. The partial least squares path modeling(PLS-PM) was conducted to quantify direct or indirect contributions among latent *** We found that heavy precipitation intensity increased the CWM mass of total nematodes and omnivorespredators without N addition. N addition decreased CWM mass of bacterivores across all the precipitation intensity treatments. Stronger precipitation intensities might be favorable for nematode production and respiration C. Spatial distribution of shallow landslides caused by Typhoon Lekima in 2019 in Zhejiang Province, China

In recent years, the coastal region of Southeast China has witnessed a significant increase in the frequency and intensity of extreme rainfall events associated with landfalling typhoons. The hilly and mountainous terrain of this area, combined with rapid rainfall accumulation, has led to a surge in flash floods and severe geological hazards. On August 10, 2019, Typhoon Lekima made landfall in Zhejiang Province, China, and its torrential rainfall triggered extensive landslides, resulting in substantial damage and economic losses. Utilizing high-resolution satellite images, we compiled a landslide inventory of the affected area, which comprises a total of 2,774 rainfallinduced landslides over an area of 2965 km2. The majority of these landslides were small to mediumsized and exhibited elongated, clustered patterns. Some landslides displayed characteristics of high-level initiation, obstructing or partially blocking rivers, leading to the formation of debris dams. We used the inventory to analyze the distribution pattern of the landslides and their relationship with topographical, geological, and hydrological factors. The results showed that landslide abundance was closely related to elevation, slope angle, faults, and road density. The landslides were predominantly located in hilly and low mountainous areas, with elevations ranging from 150 to 300 m, slopes of 20 to 30 degrees, and a NE-SE aspect. Notably, we observed the highest Landslide Number Density(LND) and Landslide Area Percentage(LAP) in the rhyolite region. Landslides were concentrated within approximately 4 km on either side of fault zones, with their size and frequency negatively correlated with distances to faults, roads, and river systems. Furthermore, under the influence of typhoons, regions with denser vegetation cover exhibited higher landslide density, reaching maximum values in shrubland areas. Mercury(Hg)enrichments in ancient sediments have been used as a proxy of volcanism,especially large igneous province(LIP)***,considering the existence of other potential Hg sources besides volcanoes and the diverse factors(e.g.,organic matters,clay minerals,sulfide minerals and Fe oxides)that can affect Hg sequestration,there are considerable uncertainties to simply regard sedimentary Hg anomalies as signatures of volcanic *** stable isotopes,a promising tool for tracing the origins and transformations of Hg,have been increasingly used for determining the causes of Hg spikes and understanding the geochemical behavior of Hg in the geologic *** date,lots of researches have applied Hg concentrations and Hg isotopes to identify LIP volcanisms linking with significant geological events such as mass extinctions,ocean anoxic events and other environmental perturbations that mainly occurred in the ***,the results in previous studies clearly show that not all Hg enrichments are derived from volcanic inputs,which emphasize the need for more caution in using Hg as a fingerprint of *** a better understanding of Hg isotopes in the future,there will be important implications for Hg isotopes to reconstruct volcanic activities in the rock records and their impacts on biological evolution.

Spatiotemporal Prediction of Urban Traffics Based on Deep GNN

Traffic prediction already plays a significant role in applications like traffic planning and urban management,but it is still difficult to capture the highly non-linear and complicated spatiotemporal correlations of traffic *** well as to fulfil both long-termand short-termprediction objectives,a better representation of the temporal dependency and global spatial correlation of traffic data is *** order to do this,the Spatiotemporal Graph Neural Network(S-GNN)is proposed in this research as amethod for traffic *** S-GNN simultaneously accepts various traffic data as inputs and investigates the non-linear correlations between the *** terms of modelling,the road network is initially represented as a spatiotemporal directed graph,with the features of the samples at the time step being captured by a convolution *** order to assign varying attention weights to various adjacent area nodes of the target node,the adjacent areas information of nodes in the road network is then aggregated using a graph *** data is output using a fully connected layer at the *** findings show that S-GNN can improve short-and long-term traffic prediction accuracy to a greater extent;in comparison to the control model,the RMSE of S-GNN is reduced by about 0.571 to 9.288 and the MAE(Mean Absolute Error)by about 0.314 to *** experimental results on two real datasets,Pe MSD7(M)and PEMS-BAY,also support this claim.

Fluorescent carbon dots synthesized in solid phase and air for application in LEDs

Carbon dots(CDs)have been widely adopted as optical materials because of their excellent luminescent ***,most of the reported synthetic methods are conducted in solvents,especially hydrothermal/solvothermal reactions,leading to intractable problems such as toxic and flammable solvents,complex and inseparable by-products,and dangerously high pressures and ***-phase synthesis of CDs in air is an effective solution to overcome the above issues,but solid reactions always result in uncontrolled growth and agglomeration of *** this study,some inorganic salts are selected as catalysts for synthesizing CDs in solid states and air,which also play as dispersants to hinder CDs *** the meantime,some aromatic derivatives containing hydroxyl and amino groups are chosen as carbon sources,ground with the optimized catalyst,and then heated together in *** production yields are affected by the reaction time and reactant ratio,while the graphitization degrees of the CDs are determined by the reaction *** IG/ID value of their Raman spectra increases from 0.59 to 0.85,and the particle size decreases from 2.5 to 1.4 nm when the synthesis temperature is increased from 200 to 280℃.The as-prepared CDs show emission peaks ranging from 366 to 606 nm,with the photoluminescence(PL)quantum yield up to 53%.Their emission color variation mainly results from different carbon sources,which can be ascribed to the differences in the element composition,functional groups,and graphitic nitrogen content of these *** dispersing CDs of different concentrations into polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)and combining them with blue LEDs,cold,standard,and warm white light emitting devices(WLEDs)are prepared,with a color rendering index(CRI)up to *** the as-prepared CDs have antioxidant ability at high temperature,the as-prepared WLEDs have long lifespans,remaining the effective white luminescence after 72 h continuous work.

A new scheme of climate-vegetation regionalization in the Hengduan Mountains Region

The Hengduan Mountains Region(HMR) is essential for the future ecological protection, clean energy production,Sichuan-Xizang and Yunnan-Xizang railways, and other major infrastructure projects in China. The distributions of climate and vegetation exhibit significant regional differentiation and vertical zonality due to the rugged longitudinal ranges and gorges and the complex disaster-prone environments in HMR. Therefore, it is urgent to develop the climate-vegetation regionalization in HMR to effectively satisfy the national requirements such as agricultural production and ecological protection, mountain disaster risk prevention, and major project construction. We here develop a new scheme of climate-vegetation regionalization with the latest demarcation outcome of HMR, the ground observation from 122 meteorological stations in HMR and its surrounding areas during 1990–2019, and the high-precision remote sensing data of land cover types. The new scheme first constructs the regionalization index system, fully considering the extraordinarily complicated geomorphic pattern of mountains and valleys, the scarcity of meteorological observations, and the remarkable differentiation of climate and vegetation in HMR. The system consists of three primary regionalization indices(i.e., days with daily average temperature steady above 10°C, aridity index, and main vegetation types, dividing the temperature zones, moisture regions, and vegetation subregions, respectively) and three auxiliary indices of the accumulated temperature above 10°C, and the temperatures in January and July. Then, the HMR is divided into five temperature zones, 20 moisture regions, and 55 vegetation subregions. Compared with previous regionalization schemes, the new scheme optimizes the climate spatial interpolation model of thin plate smoothing spline suitable for the unique terrain in HMR.
