Bivariate attribution of the compound hot and dry summer of 2022 on the Tibetan Plateau

The extraordinarily high temperatures experienced during the summer of 2022 on the Tibetan Plateau(TP)demand attention when compared with its typical climatic *** absence of precipitation alongside the elevated temperatures resulted in 2022 being the hottest and driest summer on record on the TP since at least *** the susceptibility of the TP to climate change,this study employed large-ensemble simulations from the HadGEM3-A-N216 attribution system,together with a copula-based joint probability distribution,to investigate the influence of anthropogenic forcing,primarily global greenhouse gas emissions,on this unprecedented compound hot and dry event(CHDE).Findings revealed that the return period for the 2022 CHDE on the TP exceeds 4000 years,as determined from the fitted joint distributions derived using observational data spanning *** CHDE was directly linked to large-scale circulation anomalies,including the control of equivalent-barotropic high-pressure anomalies and the northward displacement of the subtropical westerly jet ***,anthropogenic forcing has,to some extent,promoted the surface warming and increased variability in precipitation on the TP in summer,establishing conditions conducive for the 2022 CHDE from a long-term climate change *** return period for a 2022-like CHDE on the TP was estimated to be approximately 283 years(142-613 years)by the large ensemble forced by both anthropogenic activities and natural ***,ensemble simulations driven solely by natural forcing indicated that the likelihood of occurrence of a 2022-like CHDE was almost *** outcomes underscore that the contribution of anthropogenic forcing to the probability of a 2022-like CHDE was 100%,implying that without anthropogenically induced global warming,a comparable CHDE akin to that observed in 2022 on the TP would not be possible.

A widespread and prolonged hot extreme hit the Yangtze River basin in summer 2022,with 300 sites established new temperature records and nearly 96%stations endured more than 40 hot *** the perspective of the combination effect of the global warming and La Nina condition,potential mechanisms of the hot extreme were *** a record-breaking hot extreme was caused by an extremely strong and westward-shifted western Pacific subtropical high(WPSH).The global warming effect contributed primarily to the abnormal hot days in the Yangtze River basin,coupled with the modulation of the La Nina *** sea surface temperature anomaly pattern under La Nina condition favored more convection activities over the western Pacific,encouraging an enhanced and westward-extended *** addition,an observation-based attribution analysis indicates that anthropogenic warming may increase the probability of such extensively persistent hot extremeby1.8 times.

Objective This study aimed to explore the association of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP)in the matrix metalloproteinase 2(MMP-2)signaling pathway and the risk of vascular senescence(VS).Methods In this cross-sectional study,between May and November 2022,peripheral venous blood of151 VS patients(case group)and 233 volunteers(control group)were *** SNPs were identified in five genes encoding the components of the MMP-2 signaling pathway,assessed through carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity(cf PWV),and analyzed using multivariate logistic *** multigene influence on the risk of VS was assessed using multifactor dimensionality reduction(MDR)and generalized multifactor dimensionality regression(GMDR)*** Within the multivariate logistic regression models,four SNPs were screened to have significant associations with VS:chemokine(C-C motif)ligand 2(CCL2)rs4586,MMP2 rs14070,MMP2rs7201,and MMP2 *** of the T/C genotype of MMP2 rs14070 had a 2.17-fold increased risk of developing VS compared with those of the C/C genotype,and those of the T/T genotype had a19.375-fold increased ***2 rs4586 and MMP-2 rs14070 exhibited the most significant *** CCL2 rs4586,MMP-2 rs14070,MMP-2 rs7201,and MMP-2 rs1053605 polymorphisms were significantly associated with the risk of VS.

Mechanism of water oxidation catalyzed by vitamin B_(12):Redox non-innocent nature of corrin ligand and crucial role of phosphate

Vitamin B_(12)(macrocyclic cobalamin)has been recently reported to be capable of electrochemically catalyzing water oxidation in a neutral phosphate buffer *** this work,density functional calculations were employed to elucidate the water oxidation mechanism catalyzed by vitamin B_(12).The calculations showed that the catalytic cycle starts from the L·-Co^(Ⅱ)-OH_(2)complex 1.A proton-coupled electron transfer process then leads to the formation of a L^(·)-Co^(Ⅲ)-OH complex 2,followed by another proton-coupled electron transfer event to afford a corrin ligand radical cation intermediate 3(L^(·)-Co^(Ⅲ)-O^(·)).The redox non-innocent nature of the corrin ligand plays an essential role in the oxidation process.3 is capable of triggering the O-O bond formation via a water nucleophilic attack mechanism,in which a hydrophosphate dianion functions as a base to accept a proton from the water nucleophile.A dioxygen molecule is released after the oxidation of the Co^(Ⅲ)-OOH *** rate-determining step was calculated to be the O-O bond formation with a total barrier of 16.5 kcal/*** the use of water molecules as the proton acceptor was found to be less feasible for the O-O bond formation,with a barrier of 31.2 kcal/mol,further highlighting the crucial of phosphate in water oxidation.

Unprecedented Hot Extremes Observed in City Clusters in China during Summer 2022

We report here extreme daytime and nighttime temperatures,severe heatwaves,and compound hot events recorded in China's five most densely populated city clusters in summer *** records were set,with daytime maximum temperatures>42℃in cities along the Yangtze River valley and extreme nighttime temperatures>30℃.Widespread prolonged heatwaves lasting for>40 days and compound hot days occurring for>32 consecutive days were experienced in these city *** explore the possible causes of these extreme events,we analyzed the linkages between the changes in the mean temperatures and hot extremes for different-sized cities in the city *** found that megacities(e.g.,Beijing,Shanghai,Guangzhou,etc.)and large cities(e.g.,Baoding,Wuxi,Foshan,etc.),especially those located in central and eastern China,experienced unprecedented extreme high temperatures,not only in the daytime but also at *** observed large increases in the mean temperatures and more frequent and more intense hot extremes in cities affected by both the background global warming and intensified *** and large cities experienced higher and more frequent extreme temperatures and greater warming trends than medium-and small-sized cities(e.g.,Zhangjiakou,zhenjiang,Yaan,etc.).The evidence of the dependence of temperature trends on a city's size shows that intensified heat island effects may increase the threat of hot extremes in cities undergoing rapid urbanization.

Developing a high-performance Al–Mg–Si–Sn–Sc alloy for essential room-temperature storage after quenching: aging regime design and micromechanisms

Sn microalloying can depress the adverse effect of natural aging after quenching(i.e., room-temperature storage) of Al-Mg-Si alloys. However, the other effect of Sc micro-addition to the Al-Mg-Si-Sn alloys remains elusive. Here, the optimal room-temperature storage time,properties and micromechanisms of Al-0.43 Mg-1.2Si-0.1Sn-0.1Sc(wt%) alloy are investigated by atomic-resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy(STEM),microhardness and corrosion resistance tests. The results show that the peak-aging Al-Mg-Si-Sn-Sc alloy exhibits vastly shortened peak hardening time, increased thermal stability and corrosion resistance compared with its Sc-free counterpart after a long room-temperature storage time of 1 week. Under such a designed double-stage aging regime(1-week room-temperature storage + artificial aging at 180℃), the addition of Sc to Al-Mg-Si-Sn alloy induces a decrease in diameter but an increase in length of peakhardening β″-based precipitates. In addition, a suppressed over-aging phase transition from Sc/Sn-containing β″ to β′ is identified in the Al-Mg-Si-Sn-Sc alloy. The Sn tends to segregate to the Si site in the low-density cylinder of β″ and the central site of sub-B′ in the precipitate can be occupied by Sn/Sc. Further study reveals that Sc and Sn coexist in the precursors of β″. Both reduced width of precipitation free zones and protective corrosion product film easily formed on the material contribute to the improved corrosion resistance of Al-Mg-Si-Sn-Sc *** results provide important insight into the development of high-performance Al alloys.

为提高预制外挂墙板结构的抗震性能,基于预制外挂墙板点支承连接方式的变形特征,提出一种新型半刚性耗能连接节点(简称SEDC),通过结合摩擦耗能机理与金属弯曲机理,实现SEDC与主体结构正常使用状态及小震下的刚性连接,以及大震作用下的柔性耗能连接。设计并制作了3组共9个SEDC试验试件,分别进行单调加载、低周反复加载与低周疲劳加载,研究SEDC的半刚性受力特性、滞回性能、承载性能、耗能能力、延性以及低周疲劳性能。结果表明:SEDC具有显著的半刚性受力特性,滞回曲线饱满,承载力稳定,耗能能力良好,变形能力较强,弯曲单元与摩擦单元具有良好的协同工作能力。基于试验结果,建立了SEDC的数值分析模型,研究了弯曲单元与摩擦单元设计参数对其受力性能的影响。分析了预制外挂墙板在各工况作用下的节点反力计算方法,基于SEDC的半刚性受力特性提出了预制外挂墙板与主体结构的协调设计方法。

针对遗忘因子递推最小二乘法的遗忘因子为固定值而造成锂电池参数辨识结果稳定性和锂电池等效电路模型精度无法同时兼顾的问题,提出一种将模糊算法与遗忘因子递推最小二乘法相结合的融合算法——模糊遗忘因子递推最小二乘法,使得遗忘因子在模糊控制器的作用下实现动态可变.通过选取一阶RC模型作为锂电池的等效电路模型,并基于固定遗忘因子递推最小二乘法和模糊遗忘因子递推最小二乘法,分别对一阶RC模型进行参数辨识,然后分别将参数辨识结果带入模型中进行模型端电压误差计算.仿真结果表明,相较于遗忘因子取值为1的固定遗忘因子递推最小二乘算法,基于模糊遗忘因子递推最小二乘法的锂电池模型端电压平均绝对误差值下降了0.00085 V,最大误差绝对值下降了0.0742V.相较于遗忘因子取值为0.9的固定遗忘因子递推最小二乘法,模糊遗忘因子递推最小二乘法参数辨识结果的稳定性有非常显著地提升.
