“Refractivity-from-clutter” based on local empirical refractivity model

Constructing sophisticated refractivity models is one of the key problems for the RFC(refractivity from clutter)technology. If prior knowledge of the local refractivity environment is available, more accurate parameterized model can be constructed from the statistical information, which in turn can be used to improve the quality of the local refractivity retrievals. The validity of this proposal was demonstrated by range-dependent refractivity profile inversions using the adjoint parabolic equation method to the Wallops’ 98 experimental data.

ZrO_(2)-YO_(1.5)-TaO_(2.5)(ZYTO)is a promising top-coat material for thermal barrier coatings(TBCs).The bulk properties of ZYTO have been reported by several studies,but its performances as TBCs are less-well *** this work,ZYTO TBCs were prepared by air plasma spraying(APS)and their thermal cycling performances were investigated at 1150℃.Despite of the good bulk properties,APS ZYTO TBCs present an extremely short thermal fatigue *** is attributed to the non-equilibrium grain-boundary segregation of TaO_(2.5) induced by limited solubility and rapid quenching during APS process,resulting in a tetragonal(t)to cubic(c)and metastable-tetragonal(tm)phase transformation in ZYTO *** volume shrinkage(~0.74vol%)of phase transformation leads to many cracks at the c/tm phase boundaries after *** the other hand,the formation of cubic phase with massive grain-boundary Ta segregation induces a large intergranular embrittlement and a weak bonding strength(~5.3 MPa),resulting in the premature failure of the ZYTO TBCs.

Emergency department over-crowding has been a growing problem throughout the *** paper presents a practical approach to estimate the waiting times for multi-class patients and apply the approach to reduce the waiting time for high priority *** flows with different levels of acuity are formulated based on the priority queue *** derives explicit expressions of the wait time for the Markov queue and uses the concept of isomorphism to approximate the wait time in the general *** results with simulation experiments are reported to display the accuracy of the approach.A case study from an emergency department indicates that the proposed approach can efficiently prioritize patient flows in decreasing waiting *** queuing models have two ***,the approximation applies to the general priority queues and reduces to the exact results of the Markov priority ***,the models requires no iterative algorithm.

Previous studies have demonstrated that a missense single-nucleotide polymorphism variant （2316A〉G;rs2230739）of the adenylate cyclase type IX gene was associated with bipolar disorder and affective *** determined genotype and allele frequencies using a ligase detection reaction method in 315 patients with major depressive disorder and 278 unrelated, sex-matched healthy control *** did not detect any statistically significant differences in genotype and allele frequencies between patients and healthy control ***,we found no significant difference between genders in major depressive disorder,nor between patients and controls in the same *** results suggest that 2316A〉G（rs2230739）may not be a risk factor for increasing susceptibility to major depressive disorder in the Chinese Han population.

The penetration of CaO-MgO-Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)(CMAS)is one of the most significant factors that induce the failure of air-plasma-sprayed thermal barrier coatings(APS TBCs).The direct penetration of CMAS changes the thermal/mechanical properties of the top coat(TC)layer,which affects the thermal mismatch stress behavior and the growth of thermally grown oxide(TGO)at the TC/bond coat(BC)interface,thereby resulting in a more complicated interface stress *** the present study,a two-dimensional global model of APS TBCs with half of the TC layer penetrated by CMAS is established to investigate the effect of non-uniform CMAS penetration on the interface stress ***,a local model extracted from the global model is established to investigate the effects of interface morphologies and CMAS penetration *** results show that non-uniform CMAS penetration causes non-uniform TGO growth in APS TBCs,which consequently causes the stress behavior to vary along the ***,the CMAS pen-etration depth imposes a significant effect on the TC/TGO interface stress behavior,whereas the interface roughness exerts a prominent effect on the stress level at the BC/TGO interface under CMAS *** study reveals the mechanism associated with the effect of non-uniform CMAS penetration on the interface stress behavior in APS TBCSs.

Refractivity from clutter(RFC) technique estimates lower atmospheric refractivity from radar sea clutter returns. An important issue of RFC is how to make the estimate more robust. Rather than using only single beam radar sea clutter returns, this paper puts forward a theoretical framework of combining multi-source clutter power to improve the retrieved results by the variational adjoint approach. The derivation of the adjoint is accomplished by an analytical transformation of the parabolic equation model in a continuous domain. To test the theoretical algorithm, numerical simulations using multi-elevation clutter observations are carried. The results demonstrate that combining two elevation beams gives more stable estimate than using only single beam.

Music in advertising plays a crucial role in making the audience feel beyond the multi-level visual *** intrinsic link between brand publicity and advertising music has long been a *** paper discusses the impact of the consistency between the emotional characteristics of music and brand personality on brand experience and expands the discussion to brand experience under market *** use the examples of Canon and Apple for our *** results shows that:(1)the higher the degree of consistency between the emotional experience from music and brand personality,the greater the positive effect on brand experience;(2)this positive effect is not as significant for functional brands as it is for representative brands;(3)the consistency between the emotional experience from music and brand personality has a greater impact on brand experience for representative brands than functional *** results provide practical guidance for branding campaigns.

Vehicle sensor networks(VSN)play an increasingly important part in smart city,due to the interconnectivity of the *** similar to other wireless communications,vehicle sensor networks are susceptible to a broad range of *** addition to ensuring security for both data-at-rest and data-in-transit,it is essential to preserve the privacy of data and users in vehicle sensor *** existing authentication schemes for vehicle sensor networks are generally not designed to also preserve the privacy between the user and service provider(e.g.,mining user data to provide personalized services without infringing on user privacy).Controllable linkability can be used to facilitate an involved entity with the right linking key to determine whether two messages were generated by the same sender,while preserving the anonymity of the *** a functionality is very useful to provide personalized ***,in this paper,a threshold authentication scheme with anonymity and controllable linkability for vehicle sensor networks is constructed,and its security is analyzed under the random oracle model.
