An Efficient Algebraic Solution for Moving Source Localization from Quadruple Hybrid Measurements

This paper deals with the 3-D moving source localization using time difference of arrival(TDOA), frequency difference of arrival(FDOA), angle of arrival(AOA) and AOA rate measurements, gathered from a set of spatially distributed receivers. The TDOA,FDOA, AOA and AOA rate measurement equations were firstly established according to the space geometric relationship of the source relative to the receivers. Then an efficient closed-form algorithm for source position and velocity estimation from the quadruple hybrid measurements was proposed. The proposed algorithm converts the nonlinear measurement equations into a linear set of equations, which can then be used to estimate the source position and velocity applying weighted least square(WLS) minimization. In contrast to existing two-stage WLS algorithms, the proposed algorithm does not introduce any nuisance parameters and requires merely onestage, which enables for source localization with the fewest receivers necessary. Theoretical accuracy analysis shows that the proposed algorithm reaches the CramerRao lower bound, and simulation studies corroborate the efficiency and superiority of the proposed algorithm over other algorithms.

Moving target localization for multistatic passive radar using delay, Doppler and Doppler rate measurements

Time delay and Doppler shift between the echo signal and the reference signal are two most commonly used measurements in target localization for the passive radar. Doppler rate, which can be obtained from the extended cross ambiguity function, offers an opportunity to further enhance the localization accuracy. This paper considers using the measurement Doppler rate in addition to measurements of time delay and Doppler shift to locate a moving target. A closed-form solution is developed to accurately and efficiently estimate the target position and *** proposed solution establishes a pseudolinear set of equations by introducing some additional variables, imposes weighted least squares formulation to yield a rough estimate, and utilizes the function relation among the target location parameters and additional variables to improve the estimation accuracy. Theoretical covariance and Cramer-Rao lower bound(CRLB) are derived and compared, analytically indicating that the proposed solution attains the CRLB. Numerical simulations corroborate this analysis and demonstrate that the proposed solution outperforms existing methods.

Although many efforts have been attempted by scientists worldwide,electrically pumped organic lasing emission still remains as one of the greatest challenges in the field of ***,Shuai and coworkers proposed a computational strategy based on time-dependent density ftinctional theory(TDDFT),offering a new avenue to the molecule design and materials selection towards electrically pumped organic *** material property prediction package(MOMAP)previously developed by this group was utilized to obtain photophysical parameters of various organic lasing molecules,and to estimate whether they can fulfill the criteria for electrical *** systematic calculation and evaluation,three compounds,BP3T,CzPVSBF,and BSBCz were screened out as promising candidates,revealing the reliability and universality of the proposed computational *** work has been published online in the Nature Communications in September 8,2020.

Moving target localization in distributed MIMO radar with transmitter and receiver location uncertainties

In this paper, the problem of moving target localization from Bistatic Range(BR) and Bistatic Range Rate(BRR) measurements in a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output(MIMO) radar system having widely separated antennas is investigated. We consider a practically motivated scenario,where the accurate knowledge of transmitter and receiver locations is not known and only the nominal values are available for processing. With the transmitter and receiver location uncertainties,which are usually neglected in MIMO radar systems by prior studies, taken into account in the measurement model, we develop a novel algebraic solution to reduce the estimation error for moving target localization. The proposed algorithm is based on the pseudolinear set of equations and two-step weighted least squares estimation. The Cramer-Rao Lower Bound(CRLB) is derived in the presence of transmitter and receiver location uncertainties. Theoretical accuracy analysis demonstrates that the proposed solution attains the CRLB, and numerical examples show that the proposed solution achieves significant performance improvement over the existing algorithms.

Effects of pH and particle size on kinetics of nitrobenzene reduction by zero-valent iron

Nitrobenzene has been considered as a significant groundwater contaminant due to its wide usage in explosives, insecticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals and dyes. Nitrobenzene is of environmental concern because of its toxicity. In the presence of zero-valent iron （ZVI）, reduction of the nitro group is the dominant transformation process for nitrobenzene. A series of experiments were carried out to investigate the kinetics of nitrobenzene reduction by ZVI and the effects of pH and ZVI particle size on nitrobenzene removal in groundwater. The results indicated that nitrobenzene could be reduced to aniline by ZVI; the reduction of nitrobenzene by ZVI followed a pseudo first-order kinetics; the observed nitrobenzene reduction rate constant （k obs ） was 0.0006 min^-1 and the half-life of nitrobenzene （t 1/2 ） was 115.5 min; the mass balance achieved 87.5% for nitrobenzene reduction by the 1 mm ZVI particle and the final removal efficiency was 80.98%. In addition, the pH and ZVI particle size were found to exhibit significant influences on the nitrobenzene reduction. The observed nitrobenzene reduction rate constant linearly decreased with increase pH and the data fitted on polynomial regression equation for the observed nitrobenzene reduction rate constant and ZVI particle size. Therefore, use of ZVI based permeable reactive barrier technology to remedy nitrobenzene contaminated groundwater was feasible.

Nitrobenzene contamination of groundwater in a petrochemical industry site

Organic contamination of groundwater is a major concern in ***,remediation technology for groundwater contamination to address the potential harm and danger brought by the abovementioned serious issue is still in the research *** study aims to improve the current research *** the research project,drilling,soil,and groundwater sampling and analysis were conducted in a contamination site of a petrochemical plant,migration of contaminants to the river was predicted using a numerical model,the sequence permeable reactive barrier(PRB)for treating nitrobenzene(NB)and benzene was proposed,and simulation was carried *** findings demonstrated that three leaking locations had been identified in the plant,the major pollutants were NB and benzene,and the groundwater contamination area was around 640000 *** results of the numerical model indicated that,in the worst case,the groundwater plume would reach the river after migration for nearly 9 years,which would endanger the safety of surface water ***,the twoPRB system with the filling of zero-valent iron(ZVI)and granular activated carbon attached with biofilm exerted strong remediation *** results indicated that ZVI could transform NB to aniline effectively with a rate of approximately 93%.Meanwhile,aniline,benzene,and other organic pollutants could easily be biodegraded.

As the deployment,supporting,and stability mechanisms of satellite antennas,space-deployable mechanisms play a key role in the field of *** order to design truss deployable antenna supporting mechanisms with large folding rate,high accuracy,easy deployment and strong stability,aiming at the geometric division of the parabolic reflector,a novel method based on symmetric hexagonal division and its corresponding modular truss deployable antenna mechanism is proposed,and the original method based on asymmetric triangular division and its corresponding mechanisms are presented for comparative ***,the screw theory is employed to analyze the mobility of different ***,the improved three-dimensional mesh method is used to divide the reflector surface of a large parabolic antenna designed by the two different methods,and the profile accuracy and the type of links are taken as the evaluation indexes to quantitatively analyze the division ***,a three-dimensional model of the modular deployable mechanism based on the symmetric hexagonal design is developed,and the deployable mechanisms with different configurations based on the two design methods are compared and analyzed from the mechanical *** research results provide a good theoretical reference for the design of deployable truss antenna mechanisms and their application in the aerospace field.

Activation of Persulfate by Magnetic MnFe2O4-bentonite for Catalytic Degradation of 2,4-Dichlorophenol in Aqueous Solutions

Magnetic MnFe2O4-bentonite was synthesized by chemical co-precipitation method（CCM） and applied as catalyst in heterogeneous activation of persulfate（PS） to oxidize a target pollutant, 2,4-dichlorophenol（2,4-DCP）, in aqueous solutions. The surface morphology and structure of MnFe2On-bentonite were characterized by X-ray diffraction（XRD）, scanning electron microscope（SEM）, energy dispersive X-ray（EDX） and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS） *** catalytic activity of MnFe2O4-bentonite for 2,4-DCP degradation was evaluated considering the effects of various process parameters, such as mass ratio of MnFe2O4 to bentonite, concentration of catalyst, PS concentration, and pH. The MnFe2O4-bentonite hybrid exhibited higher catalytic activity than pure MnFe2O4. Treatment with 5 g/L MnFe2O4-bentonite at 30℃ for 240 rain oxidized 92% of 100 mg/L 2,4-DCP（70.2% mineralization）, whereas treatment with pure MnFe2O4 under the same condition oxidized only 70% of the pollutant. This result indicate the erdlanced performance of the activated PS. Moreover, MnFe2O4-bentonite exhibits stable performance with minimal loss in activity after five successive runs. Thus, MnFe2O4-bentonite could be a promising catalyst in oxidative degradation of 2,4-DCE

Development and Calibration of a Hyperstatic Six-component Force/Torque Sensor

The six-component force/torque sensor has become one kind of the most important sensors with the ability of measuring all the external forces and torques. A novel hyperstatic six-component force/torque sensor based on the Stewart platform structure, which can be used for the force measurement of the robot wrist, is proposed, and its structural optimal design, finite element analysis and calibration experimentation is presented. The characteristic of the sensor structure is analyzed in comparison with the traditional Stewart platform-based sensor. The mathematical expression of the sensor＇s force mapping matrix is introduced. The condition number and generalized amplifying coefficient defined by singular values of force Jacobian matrix are used to evaluate the performances of isotropy and sensitivity of the sensor respectively. The optimal design of the sensor structure is performed with the objective of achieving high measurement sensitivity and good isotropy. The sensor prototype is fabricated, and the static and dynamic characteristics of the sensor are analyzed with finite element analysis software package ANSYS. The calibration device is manufactured, and the data acquisition and processing system is developed. The theoretical and experimental study of the static calibration of the sensor prototype is carried out. The results of simulation analysis and calibration experimentation prove the feasibility of the hyperstatic sensor structure, and the contents of this paper possess theoretical significance and engineering value for the further research and practical application of the six-component force sensor.
