Forest stand structure is not only a crucial factor for regulating forest functioning but also an important indicator for sustainable forest management and ecosystem *** there exists a few national/global structure databases for natural forests,a country-wide synthetic structure database for plantation forests over china,the world’s largest player in plantation forests,has not been *** this study,we built a country-wide synthetic stand structure database by surveying more than 600 peer-reviewed *** database covers tree species,mean stand age,mean tree height,stand density,canopy coverage,diameter at breast height,as well as the associated ancillary in-situ topographical and soil properties.A total of 594 pub-lished studies concerning diverse forest stand structure parameters were compiled for 46 tree *** first synthesis for stand structure of plantation forests over china supports studies on the evolution/health of plantation forests in response to rapid climate change and intensified disturbances,and benefits country-wide sustainable forest management,future afforestation or reforestation *** users include those studying forest community dynamics,regional tree growth,ecosystem stability,and health,as well as those working with conservation and sustainable *** dataset is freely acces-sible at http://***/10.11922/sciencedb.j00076.00091.

随着经济社会的发展,我国每年会产生大量生活垃圾,而填埋由于具有成本低、操作便捷等优点,成为应用最为广泛的生活垃圾处理手段。然而垃圾填埋却会产生大量的垃圾渗滤液,严重威胁周边地下水的安全。为探讨垃圾填埋场地下水领域的研究热点与前沿,基于文献计量与数据可视化分析软件CiteSpace对Web of Science数据库进行了文献统计与信息挖掘,以期为我国垃圾填埋场地下水研究提供借鉴与参考。结合CiteSpace分析图谱发现,研究热点主要有渗滤液、吸附、重金属、评价方法(层次分析法)、多环芳烃、渗滤液污染指标、硝化等;研究前沿已从重金属、挥发性有机物(甲烷、碳)等具体的污染物质研究逐渐转变为污染区域、污染物影响、地理信息系统等研究。结合相关文献及CiteSpace结果进行分析认为,基于地理信息系统知识精细刻画区域内污染物的传输与扩散模型,以及结合污染区域健康风险评估进行系统的垃圾填埋场污染修复和治理工作将成为今后的发展趋势。

Four wetland maps for all china have been produced,based on Landsat and CBERS-02B remote sensing data between 1978 and 2008 (1978,1990,2000 and 2008).These maps were mainly developed by manual interpretation and validated by substantial field investigation in *** on these maps,we analyzed the 2008 wetland distribution in china and discussed wetland changes and their drivers over the past 30 years.(i) There were about 324097 km 2 of wetlands in 2008,for which inland marshes or swamps were the most common wetland type (35%),with lakes (26%) *** of the wetlands were in Heilongjiang,Inner Mongolia,Qinghai and Tibet,occupying about 55% of the national wetland area.(ii) From 1978 to 2008,china's wetland area continually and significantly decreased,by about 33% based on changes in the wetland *** was in sharp contrast to the increase in artificial wetlands,which increased by about 122%.Inland marshes accounted for the main loss of total wetlands from 1978 to *** 2000 through 2008,riverine and lacustrine wetlands constituted the main wetland *** however,the rate of wetland loss decreased from 5523 to 831 km 2 /a.(iii) The change ratio of lost natural wetlands (including inland and coastal wetlands) to non-wetlands has decreased slightly over the past 30 *** 1978 to 1990,nearly all natural wetlands (98%) lost were transformed into ***,the ratio declined to 86% from 1990 to 2000,and to 77% from 2000 to 2008.(iv) All Chinese provinces were divided into three groups according to patterns of wetland changes,which could relate to the driving forces of such *** was completely different from other provinces,as it was one representative example in which there was a net wetland increase,because of global warming and decreased human activity since *** economic development caused considerable wetland loss in most eastern provinces,and artificial wetlands increased.

Phosphorus (P) is an essential element for growth in aquatic ecosystems but the dynamics of phosphorus cycling within catchments is poorly constrained. The aim of this study was therefore to develop analytical tools to investigate the release of inorganic and organic phosphorus species in rivers and estuaries during resuspension events such as storm, wind and tidal induced turbulence. To achieve this aim, laboratory simulations using a mini-annular flume coupled with segmented flow analyser detection were performed. To collect SPM (suspended particulate matter), a specially designed specimen box was deployed in the River Tamar (Devon, UK). Inorganic and total phosphorus were determined using segmented flow analyser methods adapted for use with acidified persulfate digests. The segmented flow analyser had a detection limit (3 s.d.) of 0.53 μg P L-1 for inorganic P and 1.5 μg P L-1 for total P. The mini-annular flume provides a suitable method for laboratory simulations, e.g. we managed to get low blanks and good experimental reproducibility, and are also able to see changes in P species within analytical precision. Results showed that increase of shear stress (or SPM) caused release of inorganic P from sediment. This could be used as a fact to build a model to study P dynamics during resuspension events in the river and estuaries environment.

This paper provides a review of paleoclimate modeling activities in china. Rather than attempt to cover all topics, we have chosen a few climatic intervals and events judged to be particularly informative to the international community. In historical climate simulations, changes in solar radiation and volcanic activity explain most parts of reconstructions over the last millennium prior to the industrial era, while atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations play the most important role in the20 th century warming over china. There is a considerable model–data mismatch in the annual and boreal winter temperature change over china during the mid-Holocene [6000 years before present（ka BP）], while coupled models with an interactive ocean generally perform better than atmospheric models. For the Last Glacial Maximum（21 ka BP）, climate models successfully reproduce the surface cooling trend over china but fail to reproduce its magnitude, with a better performance for coupled models. At that time, reconstructed vegetation and western Pacific sea surface temperatures could have significantly affected the East Asian climate, and environmental conditions on the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau were most likely very different to the present day. During the late Marine Isotope Stage 3（30–40 ka BP）, orbital forcing and Northern Hemisphere glaciation, as well as vegetation change in china, were likely responsible for East Asian climate change. On the tectonic scale,the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau uplift, the Tethys Sea retreat, and the South china Sea expansion played important roles in the formation of the East Asian monsoon-dominant environment pattern during the late Cenozoic.

We estimate the willingness to pay （WTP） of beijing and Shanghai residents for improving the air quality of the two cities from their levels prior to the 2008 beijing Olympic Games to the level achieved during the Olympics. The data are obtained from a contingent valuation study conducted through face-to-face interviews in June 2008 in beijing and Shanghai prior to the beijing Olympics, during which time there was intensive debate about beijing＇s air quality. Residents in both cities are willing to pay more when they are more exposed to air pollution, when their disposable income increases, and when they have stronger beliefs that public opinion plays an important role in government policy making. beijing residents are willing to pay more than Shanghai residents, due possibly to beijing＇s poorer air quality. Overall, aggregate WTP for air quality improvement accounts for about 0.53% of the 2008 GDP in beijing and 0.22% of the 2008 GDP in Shanghai.

Smart, real-time, low-cost, and distributed ecosystem monitoring is essential for understanding and managing rapidly changing ecosystems. However, new techniques in the big data era have rarely been introduced into operational ecosystem monitoring, particularly for fragile ecosystems in remote *** introduce the Internet of Things(IoT) techniques to establish a prototype ecosystem monitoring system by developing innovative smart devices and using IoT technologies for ecosystem monitoring in isolated environments. The developed smart devices include four categories: large-scale and nonintrusive instruments to measure evapotranspiration and soil moisture, in situ observing systems for CO2 and d13 C associated with soil respiration, portable and distributed devices for monitoring vegetation variables, and Bi-CMOS cameras and pressure trigger sensors for terrestrial vertebrate monitoring. These new devices outperform conventional devices and are connected to each other via wireless communication networks. The breakthroughs in the ecosystem monitoring IoT include new data loggers and longdistance wireless sensor network technology that supports the rapid transmission of data from devices to wireless networks. The applicability of this ecosystem monitoring IoT is verified in three fragile ecosystems, including a karst rocky desertification area, the National Park for Amur Tigers, and the oasis-desert ecotone in china. By integrating these devices and technologies with an ecosystem monitoring information system, a seamless data acquisition, transmission, processing, and application IoT is created. The establishment of this ecosystem monitoring IoT will serve as a new paradigm for ecosystem monitoring and therefore provide a platform for ecosystem management and decision making in the era of big data.

Photocatalytic water splitting with simultaneous degradation of organic pollutants is an effective strategy to alleviate the increasingly serious energy and environmental ***,the photocatalytic activity is restricted by the high charge recombination rate and limited sunlight ***,black phosphorus(BP)with a broad sunlight response range was utilized as a photosensitizer to enhance the photocatalytic performance of the Au/carbon nitride(CN)*** as-prepared BP/Au/CN exhibited a significantly enhanced H_(2) generation rate of 1400.8µmol h^(−1) g^(−1) under UV-vis light irradiation,which is almost 70 times higher than that of bare CN and BP/CN and 2 folds higher than that of the Au/CN ***,the optimal BP/Au/CN sample presented a waste-to-hydrogen production rate of 195.8µmol h^(−1) g^(−1) with the degradation of bisphenol A,verifying the synergistic effect of the ternary *** photocatalytic mechanism was systematically studied by the combination of experiments and theoretical *** improved photocatalytic performance was derived from the overall sunlight absorption ability of BP,effective electron transfer media and plasmonic character of Au nanoparticles,as well as the matched work function and strong interaction of the three components.A unidirectional electron transfer from BP to Au and then to CN was established,which effectively improved the charge transfer capability,resulting from the appropriate Ohmic contact of Au and BP and the Schottky barrier constructed in Au/CN hybrid.
