Enhanced Performance of Co-doped Antimony Electrode for pH Measurement in Marine Environments

The antimony（Sb） electrode, despite its prevalent use for pH detection in complex environments, suffers from severe potential drift due to poor corrosion resistance, thereby impeding long-term or online applications. Intermetallic compounds show excellent resistance to corrosion and oxidation, presenting a promising avenue for improving the stability of the Sb electrode. Therefore, we fabricate an intermetallic compound-doped Sb electrode by adding various cobalt（Co） contents to improve the stability of the Sb electrode without compromising the inherent pH response. It's observed that the alloy electrode exhibits a significant reduction in surface roughness, corrosion product Sb2O3content, cracks, and Sb exfoliation compared to the pure Sb electrode after the electrochemical tests, and the effect becomes more pronounced as the Co content increases. The electrochemical tests further reveal that the alloy electrode exhibits better corrosion resistance than the pure Sb in various solutions, with the alloy electrode containing 80 at% Sb showing the highest corrosion resistance. Moreover,the alloy electrode containing 80 at% Sb also shows excellent sensitivity and anti-interference ability, high accuracy and reproducibility, low hysteresis, and better long-term stability, especially in seawater. These findings suggest that inexpensive Co doping significantly enhances corrosion resistance, thereby reducing electrode surface alterations and eventually improving the potential stability of pure Sb electrodes without affecting the inherent pH response. Furthermore, the obtained results provide an experimental basis for the long-term operation of the alloy pH electrode in complex environments such as seawater without frequent maintenance.

Osteoarthritis(OA)is the most prevalent joint disease and icariin is a promising drug for its ***,the clinical use of icariin is hindered by poor water solubility,low bioavailability,and nonspecific release and biological ***,sulfonated azocalix[4]arene(SAC4A)with enhanced water solubility,recognition capacity,and designed responsiveness was used to improve the efficiency of icariin for OA ***4A,a macrocycle with well-defined molecular weight and structure,could encapsulate and enhance water solubility of various *** addition,SAC4A enables hypoxia-responsive release of loaded *** with icariin treatment,supramolecular complex icariin@SAC4A significantly relieved OA symptoms of rats,including more regular bone morphology and structure,and lower degree of cartilage ***,the supramolecular formulation demonstrated various advantages,including easy preparation,hypoxia-triggered release,and small size that conducive to drug penetration.

An enhanced equivalent input disturbance approach to current control of PMSM with periodic and aperiodic disturbances

The current-loop control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) system suffers from periodic and aperiodic disturbances, which result in current ripples and degrade control performance. This paper presents an enhanced equivalent-input-disturbance(EID) approach to reject periodic and aperiodic disturbances in the current loop of a *** additional quasi-resonant compensators(QRCs) are integrated into a conventional EID estimator with a low-pass filter(LPF) to handle the disturbances. The configuration of an enhanced EID(EEID)-based control system for PMSM current loop is explained. An analysis in the frequency domain shows the mechanism of the presented method for rejecting periodic and aperiodic disturbances simultaneously. It reveals that the sensitivity reduction of the system for aperiodic disturbances is mainly determined by the bandwidth of the LPF and that for periodic disturbances is determined by the parameters of the *** stability of the system is analyzed using the Nyquist stability criterion. The design algorithm for system parameters is provided. Compared to the conventional EID approach, the proposed method provides an additional degree of freedom to deal with periodic disturbances. The design of the QRCs is independent of each other, which makes the proposed method flexible and easy to implement. The effectiveness and the superiority of the EEID approach are validated by simulation results of a PMSM system.

Restricted Gr?bner Basis Theory for Normalization of Indexed Differential Riemann Metric Tensor Polynomials

Riemman metric tensor(Rmt) plays a significant role in deducing basic formulas and equations arising in differential geometry and(pseudo-) Riemannian manifolds. It is a fundamental and challenging problem to determine the equivalence of indexed differential Rmt polynomials. This paper solves the problem by extending Gr¨obner basis theory and the previous work on the computational theory for indexed differentials. L-expansion of an indexed differential Rmt polynomial is *** a decomposed form of the Gr¨obner basis of defining syzygies of the polynomial ring is presented,based on a partition of elementary indexed monomials. Meanwhile, the upper bound of the dummy index numbers of sim-monomials of the elements in each disjoint elementary indexed monomial subset is found. Finally, a DST-fundamental restricted ring is constructed, and the canonical form of a polynomial is confirmed to be the normal form with respect to the Gr¨obner basis in the DST-fundamental restricted ring.

Lightweight aerogels feature multifunctionality and a high porosity,yet accompanied with poor structure recovery under large strain *** this work,we develop an air bubble-ice crystal dual template and annealing strategy to integrate low density and high resilience for the conductive transition metal carbides/nitrides(MXene)composite *** air bubbles and ice crystals synergistically exclude the nanosheets to the gas-liquid interfaces,thereby constructing unique Y-shaped junctions and robust *** annealing process greatly enhances the interlayer *** external load,the Yshaped structures prevent the stress concentration at the junctions by transferring the forces to the skeleton for maintaining structural *** addition,the wrinkled and thick cell walls,together with the enhanced interlayer interactions,endow the aerogel with exceptional structural stability and *** a result,the MXene/reduced graphene oxide(RGO)composite aerogels exhibit superelasticity with reversible compressive strains of up to 95%.In addition,the electron bridging effect of the RGO sheets affords the aerogel to deliver excellent electromagnetic interference shielding performance,as high as 46.3 dB at 2.5 ***,the remarkable reshapeability of the aerogels allows for precise regulation of structure and performance(33.5-75.1 dB)by a simple wetting compression *** summary,this work offers helpful inspirations for developing lightweight and superelasticity aerogels for extensive applications.

BACKGROUND Return to work(RTW)serves as an indication for young and middle-aged colorectal cancer(CRC)survivors to resume their normal social ***,these survivors encounter significant challenges during their RTW ***,scientific research is necessary to explore the barriers and facilitating factors of returning to work for young and middle-aged CRC *** To examine the current RTW status among young and middle-aged CRC survivors and to analyze the impact of RTW self-efficacy(RTW-SE),fear of progression(FoP),eHealth literacy(eHL),family resilience(FR),and financial toxicity(FT)on their RTW *** A cross-sectional investigation was adopted in this *** September 2022 to February 2023,a total of 209 participants were recruited through a convenience sampling method from the gastrointestinal surgery department of a class A tertiary hospital in *** investigation utilized a general information questionnaire alongside scales assessing RTW-SE,FoP,eHL,FR,and *** analyze the factors that influence RTW outcomes among young and middle-aged CRC survivors,Cox regression modeling and Kaplan-Meier survival analysis were *** A total of 43.54%of the participants successfully returned to work,with an average RTW time of 100 *** regression univariate analysis revealed that RTW-SE,FoP,eHL,FR,and FT were significantly different between the non-RTW and RTW groups(P<0.05).Furthermore,Cox regression multivariate analysis identified per capita family monthly income,job type,RTW-SE,and FR as independent influencing factors for RTW(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The RTW rate requires further *** levels of RTW-SE and FR were found to significantly increase RTW among young and middle-aged CRC *** professionals should focus on modifiable factors,such as RTW-SE and FR,to design targeted RTW support programs,thereby facilitating their timely reintegration into mainstream society.

Substantial effects of photochemical reaction losses of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)on factor profiles can be investigated by comparing the differences between daytime and nighttime dispersion-normalized VOC data resolved *** speciated VOC data measured in Shijiazhuang,China from May to September 2021 were used to conduct *** mean VOC concentration in the daytime and at nighttime were 32.8 and 36.0 ppbv,*** and aromatics concentrations in the daytime(12.9 and 3.08 ppbv)were lower than nighttime(15.5 and 3.63 ppbv),whereas that of alkenes showed the opposite *** concentration differences between daytime and nighttime for alkynes and halogenated hydrocarbonswere uniformly *** reactivities of the dominant species in factor profiles for gasoline emissions,natural gas and diesel vehicles,and liquefied petroleum gas were relatively low and their profiles were less affected by photochemical *** losses produced a substantial impact on the profiles of solvent use,petrochemical industry emissions,combustion sources,and biogenic emissions where the dominant species in these factor profiles had high *** the profile of biogenic emissions was substantially affected by photochemical loss of isoprene,the low emissions at nighttime also had an important impact on its *** losses of highly active VOC species substantially reduced their concentrations in apportioned factor *** study results were consistent with the analytical results obtained through initial concentration estimation,suggesting that the initial concentration estimation could be the most effective currently availablemethod for the source analyses of active VOCs although with uncertainty.

Cereal-legume intercropping stimulates straw decomposition and promotes soil organic carbon stability

Increasing carbon（C） sequestration and stability in agricultural soils is a key strategy to mitigate climate change towards C neutrality. Crop diversification is an initiative to increase C sequestration in fields, but it is unclear how legume-based crop diversification impacts the functional components of soil organic carbon（SOC） in dryland, including the formation and transformation of particulate organic carbon（POC） and mineral-associated organic carbon（MAOC）. We investigated the decomposition of straw residues, the fate of photosynthesized C,as well as the formation of MAOC and POC fractions using an in situ13C labeling technique in the soybean-wheat intercropping, soybeanmaize intercropping and their respective monocropping systems, with and without cover crops. After 4-year treatments, the total SOC content in bulk soil remained unchanged, while MAOC content increased significantly by 5.6% with intercropping. Moreover, the in situ13C labeling results confirmed that more photosynthesized C was transferred to MAOC, and less was retained in the POC fraction. Intercropping significantly increased total soil N and mineral N content by 15.3% and 13.4%, respectively, and decreased soil and microbial C/N ratio by11.3% and 17.4%, respectively. This outcome, therefore, relieved microbial N limitation and accelerated straw residue ***, the potential of MAOC formation was strengthened for better SOC persistence. Our study suggests that legume-based crop diversification can effectively enrich N and support POC transformation to MAOC, accordingly contributing to the persistent SOC pool and thus potentially achieving C neutrality under climate change in dryland agroecosystems.
