OBJECTIVE:The aims of this study were to determine the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of Yaotuitong(translation:low back and leg pain) capsules,a Chinese herbal preparation,and the histological changes it induces in experimental rats with chemically induced radicular ***:Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal,model,Western medicine,and traditional Chinese medicine groups(n=24 per group).We surgically duplicated a chemical radicular neuritis model to simulate lumbar intervertebral disc *** formation was measured on postoperative days(PODs) 3,7,14,and *** E 2 and 5-hydroxytryptamine(inflammation mediators) levels in the surrounding tissue and the histology of the nerve root were determined on PODs 7 and ***:Yaotuitong capsules significantly reduced prostaglandin E 2(P<0.01) and 5-hydroxytryptamine(P<0.01)levels in tissue surrounding the nerve *** also inhibited granuloma formation(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Yaotuitong capsules have anti-in-flammatory and analgesic effects that can alleviate the discomfort of lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion.

Effect of solid-solution temperature on the microstructure of Fe-Ni based high strength low thermal expansion (HSLTE) alloy

The influence of solid-solution temperature on the dissolution of carbide precipitates, the average grain size and the microhardness of the austenite matrix in an Fe-Ni based high strength low thermal expansion （HSLTE） alloy was investigated to obtain the proper temperature range of the solid-solution process. The XRD analysis, microstructure observations, and the theoretical calculations showed that the Mo-rich M2C-type precipitates in the Fe-Ni based HSLTE alloy dissolve completely at about 1100℃. The average grain size of the studied alloys increases from 14 to 46 μm in the temperature range of 1050 to 1200℃. The microhardness of the matrix decreases gust for the sake of solid-solution treatment, but then increases later with increasing solution temperature because of the solution strengthening effect.

Hard-Te V BL Lac objects are newly identified populations of active galactic nuclei with the emittedγ-ray photons well above Te V *** this paper,we explain the multiwavelength emission of six Hard-Te V BL Lac objects by using a truncated conical emission region of the jet,where the electron distribution is obtained by numerically solving the evolution equation along the jet *** comparison,we also apply the model to Mrk 421and Mrk 501,which are the potential candidates for the hard Te V *** demonstrate that the model can satisfactorily reproduce the spectral energy distributions of eight sources,particularly of six Hard-Te V sources,where no extreme minimum Lorentz factor of the electron population is *** contrast with Mrk 421 and Mrk 501,six Hard-Te V sources have rather low magnetization in emitting regions and high cutoff energies of the electron distributions.

An intrinsic sensor （diameter 16 ram, thickness 300 μm ） based on chemical vapor deposition derived polycrystailine diamond was developed. Ultra low dark current under 100 pA and high n/γ discrimination of 15.8 were obtained on this device, which enable it to be used for neutron detection in multi-radiation field. Moreover, the neutron sensitivity of this detector was characterized theoretically and experimentally. And for fast and ultra-fast neutron, the detection sensitivity is in the magnitude of 10^-17 to 10^-16 C cm^2/n with good stability and negligible pump effect. All these results indicate that the as-prepared sensor to be ideal for fast and ultra-fast neutron monitoring, and it may pave the way to build neutron detector with low cost and large sensitive area with diamond.

The effect of peripherally administered oxytocin(OT)on gastric ischemia-reperfusion injury(GI-RI)and its possible mechanism were *** Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats were randomly divided into different treatment groups(n=6).The animal GI-RI model was established by clamping the celiac artery for 30 min to induce ischemia and then released to allow reperfusion for 1 h,and the degree of GI-RI was assessed by scoring the gastric mucosal damage index(GMDI),the gastric fluid output,gastric fluid output,gastric acidity were measured and the surgical preparations of vagotomy and sympathectomy were used to investigate the possible mechanism of OT on *** results were as *** with the control group(NS plus GI-R only,GMDI 121.33P10.40,n=6),the intra peritoneal(ip)administration of oxytocin(20,100μg/0.5 mL)obviously attenuated GI-RI(P<0.05),GMDI were 82.33P14.26,53.5P5.58 respectively(n=6);the gastric fluid output and the gastric acidity(evaluated by pH)of the control group were(430.17P87.36)μL,1.55P0.25(n=6),and those of the OT group were(102.45P48.00)μL,2.65P0.40(n=6)res pectively;differences had statistical significance(P<0.01).The effect of oxytocin was reversed by atosiban,a selective oxytocin receptor *** GMDI of the group given atosiban 10 min before OT was 138.17P24.06(n=6),which had no significant difference with the control *** further attenuated GI-RI after vagotomy and sympathectomy(GMDI 6.83P8.89,29.67P5.54,n=6),compared with the GI-R group and the oxytocin group(P<0.01).These results indicated that the oxytocin could significantly protect gastric mucosal against injury induced by ischemia-reperfusion,and the oxytocin receptor was *** effect of oxytocin may be mediated through the vagus and sympathetic nerve,and then lead to the reduction of gastric juice output and the depression of gastric acidity.

High-aspect-ratio metallic surface microstructures are increasingly demanded in breakthrough applications,such as high-performance heat transfer enhancement and surface plasmon ***,the fast and cost-effective fabrication of high-aspect-ratio microstructures on metallic surfaces remains challenging for existing *** study proposes a novel cutting-based process,namely elliptical vibration chiseling(EV-chiseling),for the high-efficiency texturing of surface microstructures with an ultrahigh aspect *** conventional cutting,EV-chiseling superimposes a microscale EV on a backward-moving *** tool chisels into the material in each vibration cycle to generate an upright chip with a high aspect ratio through material *** to the tool’s backward movement,the chip is left on the material surface to form a microstructure rather than falling *** one microstructure is generated in one vibration cycle,the process can be highly efficient using ultrafast(>1 kHz)tool vibration.A finite element analysis model is established to explore the process mechanics of ***,a mechanistic model of the microstructured surface generation is developed to describe the microstructures’aspect ratio dependency on the process ***,surface texturing tests are performed on copper to verify the efficacy of *** micro ribs with a spacing of 1–10μm and an aspect ratio of 2–5 have been successfully textured on *** with the conventional EV-cutting that uses a forward-moving tool,EV-chiseling can improve the aspect ratio of textured microstructure by up to 40 *** experimental results also verify the accuracy of the developed surface generation model of ***,the effects of elliptical trajectory,depth of cut,tool shape,and tool edge radius on the surface generation of micro ribs have been discussed.

The conductivity of MnCo2O4 spinel,the best route to form the MnCo2O4 protective coating applied by the sol-gel process,and its effect on the intermediate temperature oxidation behavior of SUS 430 alloy,a typical material for the interconnect of solid oxide fuel cell(SOFC),was *** phase structure and surface morphology of the coating and surface oxides were characterized by XRD,SEM and EDS;the "4-probe" method was employed to determine the conductivity of MnCo2O4 spinel and the area specific resistance(ASR)of the surface *** conductivity of MnCo2O4 spinel is excellent,which is 2 orders of magnitude better than that of MnCr2O4 ***-term thermally cyclic oxidation at 750°C in SOFC cathode atmosphere and ASR measurement have shown that calcined in reducing atmosphere followed by pre-oxidation in the air is the best technique for forming the MnCo2O4 protective coating,which enhances the oxidation resistance,and improves the electrical conductivity and adherence of coated SUS 430 alloy *** a result,the MnCo2O4 spinel is the most potential candidate for SOFC metallic interconnect protective coating application.

Synthesis and thermal expansion of 4J36/ZrW_2O_8 composites

Gas atomized 4J36 alloy powder was milled for 72 h then mixed with ZrW2O8 powder and sintered at 600℃ for 4 h under argon atmosphere. 4J36/ZrW2O8 composites containing 10 vol.%, 20 vol.%, 30 vol.%, and 40 vol.% ZrW2Os were fabricated, the relative density of which ranged from 70% to 80%. Thermal expansion coefficients of the composites decreased as the amount of ZrW2O8 increased, in agreement with the rule of the mixture. The coefficient of thermal expansion of the 4J36/40 vol.%ZrW2O8 composite in 25-100℃ is 0.55 × 10^＋6/℃.

Induced pluripotent cell mass plays a role in genetic transformation mediated by Agrobacterium. Mature seeds are more recalcitrant to the induction of suitable calli than immature embryos in rice, but the exact molecular mechanisms involved remain elusive. In this study, the morphological structure of calli induced from mature seeds and immature embryos were observed under a scanning electron microscope using a paraffin embedded technique. Meanwhile, a total of 2 173 up- and down-regulated genes were identified in calli induced from mature seeds and immature embryos by RNA-seq technique and furtherly confirmed by quantitative real-time PCR. The results revealed the remarkable morphological differences in calli induced from mature seeds and immature embryos, and plant hormone signal transduction and hormone biosynthesis pathways, such as abscisic acid, salicylic acid and jasmonic-isoleucine, were found to play roles in somatic embryogenesis. This study provided comprehensive gene expression sets for mature seeds and immature embryos that were served as an important platform resource for further functional studies in plant embryogenesis.
