AIM:To assess the performance of macular ganglion cell-inner plexiform layer thickness(mGCIPLT)and 10-2 visual field(VF)parameters in detecting early glaucoma and evaluating the severity of advanced ***:Totally 127 eyes from 89 participants(36 eyes of 19 healthy participants,45 eyes of 31 early glaucoma patients and 46 eyes of 39 advanced glaucoma patients)were *** relationships between the optical coherence tomography(OCT)-derived parameters and VF sensitivity were *** with early glaucoma were divided into eyes with or without central 10°of the VF damages(CVFDs),and the diagnostic performances of OCT-derived parameters were ***:In early glaucoma,the mGCIPLT was significantly correlated with 10-2 VF pattern standard deviation(PSD;with average mGCIPLT:β=-0.046,95%CI,-0.067 to-0.024,P<0.001).In advanced glaucoma,the mGCIPLT was related to the 24-2 VF mean deviation(MD;with average mGCIPLT:β=0.397,95%CI,0.199 to 0.595,P<0.001),10-2 VF MD(with average mGCIPLT:β=0.762,95%CI,0.485 to 1.038,P<0.001)and 24-2 VF PSD(with average mGCIPLT:β=0.244,95%CI,0.124 to 0.364,P<0.001).Except for the minimum and superotemporal mGCIPLT,the decrease of mGCIPLT in early glaucomatous eyes with CVFDs was more severe than that of early glaucomatous eyes without *** area under the curve(AUC)of the average mGCIPLT(AUC=0.949,95%CI,0.868 to 0.982)was greater than that of the average circumpapillary retinal nerve fiber layer thickness(cpRNFLT;AUC=0.827,95%CI,0.674 to 0.918)and rim area(AUC=0.799,95%CI,0.610 to 0.907)in early glaucomatous eyes with CVFDs versus normal ***:The 10-2 VF and mGCIPLT parameters are complementary to 24-2 VF,cpRNFLT and ONH parameters,especially in detecting early glaucoma with CVFDs and evaluating the severity of advanced glaucoma in group level.

Near-surface wind field characteristics of the desert-oasis transition zone in Dunhuang,China

The desert-oasis transition zone(DOTZ)serves as a buffer area between the desert and *** its wind field characteristics is of great significance for the prevention and control of aeolian disasters in the *** this study,we used meteorological data during 2013–2019 from the portable meteorological stations at five sites(site A on the edge of the oasis,sites B,C,and D in the DOTZ,and site O in the desert)in Dunhuang,China to analyze the near-surface wind field characteristics and their causes,as well as to reveal the key role of the DOTZ in oasis *** results showed that the mean wind speed,frequency of sand-driving wind,and directional variability of wind decreased from west to east within the DOTZ,and wind speed was significantly affected by air *** terrain influenced the prevailing winds in the region,mainly from northeast and *** some areas adjacent to the oasis were controlled by southeasterly *** indicated that the near-surface wind field characteristics of the DOTZ were caused by the combined effects of local terrain and surface hydrothermal *** site D,the annual drift potential(DP)was 24.95 vector units(VU),indicating a low wind energy environment,and the resultant drift direction(RDD)showed obvious seasonal ***,the DOTZ played an important buffering role between the desert and *** with the desert,the mean wind speed in the oasis decreased by 64.98%,and the prevailing wind direction was more *** results of this study will be useful in interpreting the aeolian activity of the DOTZ in Dunhuang.

Prescribed time control based on the periodic delayed sliding mode surface without singularities

In this paper, nonsingular prescribed-time control is studied based on periodic delayed sliding mode surfaces. Different from the existing sliding mode control, where either singularity problems may appear or the convergence time depends on the initial state, the proposed sliding mode control approaches can achieve prescribed-time convergence without singularity. The proposed nonsingular sliding mode control approaches can be applied to both second-order and high-order nonlinear systems with prescribed-time convergence. As applications of the proposed sliding mode control approaches, the control of hypersonic vehicle systems is revisited. Numerical simulations on the nonlinear model of the hypersonic vehicle system show the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

Scutellaria barbata attenuates diabetic retinopathy by preventing retinal inflammation and the decreased expression of tight junction protein

AIM： To observe the attenuation of ethanol extract of Herba Scutellaria barbata （SE） against diabetic retinopathy （DR） and its engaged mechanism. METHODS： C57BL/6J mice were intraperitoneally injected with streptozotocin （STZ, 55 mg/kg） for 5 consecutive days to induce diabetes, The diabetic mice were orally given with SE （100, 200 mg/kg） for lmo at lmo after STZ injection. Blood-retinal barrier （BRB） breakdown was detected by using Evans blue permeation assay. Real-time polymerase chain reaction （RT-PCR）, Western blot and immunofiuorescence staining were used to detect mRNA and protein expression. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay （ELISA） was used to detect serum contents of tumor necrosis factor-e （TNF-a） and interleukin （IL）-II. RESULTS： SE （100, 200 mg/kg） reversed the breakdown of BRB in STZ-induced diabetic mice. The decreased expression of retinal claudin-1 and claudin-19, which are both tight junction （T J） proteins, was reversed by SE. SE decreased the increased serum contents and retinal mRNA expression of TNF-a and IL-113. SE also decreased the increased retinal expression of intercellular cell adhesion molecule-1 （ICAM-1）. SE reduced the increased phosphorylation of nuclear factor kappa B （NFKB） p65 and its subsequent nuclear translocation in retinas from STZ- induced diabetic mice. Results of Western blot and retinal immunofluorescence staining of ionized calcium-binding adapter molecule 1 （Ibal） demonstrated that SE abrogated the activation of microglia cells in STZ-induced diabetic mice. CONCLUSION： SE attenuates the development of DR by inhibiting retinal inflammation and restoring the decreased expression of TJ proteins including claudin-1 and claudin-19.

Spatiotemporal variation of land surface temperature and its driving factors in Xinjiang,China

Land surface temperature(LST) directly affects the energy balance of terrestrial surface systems and impacts regional resources, ecosystem evolution, and ecosystem structures. Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is located at the arid Northwest China and is extremely sensitive to climate change. There is an urgent need to understand the distribution patterns of LST in this area and quantitatively measure the nature and intensity of the impacts of the major driving factors from a spatial perspective, as well as elucidate the formation mechanisms. In this study, we used the MOD11C3 LST product developed on the basis of Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS) to conduct regression analysis and determine the spatiotemporal variation and differentiation pattern of LST in Xinjiang from 2000 to 2020. We analyzed the driving mechanisms of spatial heterogeneity of LST in Xinjiang and the six geomorphic zones(the Altay Mountains, Junggar Basin, Tianshan Mountains, Tarim Basin, Turpan-Hami(Tuha) Basin, and Pakakuna Mountain Group) using geographical detector(Geodetector) and geographically weighted regression(GWR) models. The warming rate of LST in Xinjiang during the study period was 0.24℃/10a, and the spatial distribution pattern of LST had obvious topographic imprints, with 87.20% of the warming zone located in the Gobi desert and areas with frequent human activities, and the cooling zone mainly located in the mountainous areas. The seasonal LST in Xinjiang was at a cooling rate of 0.09℃/10a in autumn, and showed a warming trend in other seasons. Digital elevation model(DEM), latitude, wind speed, precipitation, normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI), and sunshine duration in the single-factor and interactive detections were the key factors driving the LST changes. Atmospheric transmission algorithm for pulsed X-rays from high-altitude nuclear detonations based on scattering correction

Heat Transfer Characteristics of a Microchannel Heat Sink with Highly-Dense Micro-Jet Arrays

This paper proposed a new structure of highly-dense micro-jet arrays for hybrid jet-impingement/microchannel heat sinks(~120 jet per cm^(2) with jet width of 0.35 mm).Parametric study is performed to investigate the influence of structure and flow parameters on the convective heat transfer of water jet cooling in confined *** simulation results show that the optimal jet width,jet spacing and impingement distance are around 0.2 mm,0.2 mm and 0.3 mm,respectively,which can achieve a low thermal resistance as well as a relatively low pressure *** analysis of the heat transfer pathways shows that the micro-fin jet structures can extend the impinging heat transfer area and conduct a considerable proportion of heat,which can reach up to 38.9%with the Reynolds number ranging from 797.1 to *** heat transfer characteristics in the heat sink will shift from impingement dominated heat transfer to the channel-convection dominated heat transfer as the jet impingement distance increases.A correlation is proposed to predict the average Nusselt number on the stagnation area for the heat sink with different structure parameters,and the deviations of predictions from the numerical results are less than 10%.

目的总结深圳市新生儿脑卒中发病率、临床特征及预后等情况,提高脑卒中新生儿的早期诊治能力。方法由深圳市儿童医院牵头,收集2020年1月—2022年12月深圳新生儿数据协作网组织21家单位收治的新生儿脑卒中36例,分析深圳市新生儿脑卒中发病率、临床特征、治疗、预后等情况。结果深圳市21家医院2020、2021、2022年新生儿脑卒中的发病率分别为1/15137、1/6060、1/7704。缺血性脑卒中占75%(27/36),男性患儿占64%(23/36)。86%(31/36)的患儿在生后3d内起病,53%(19/36)以惊厥起病。颅脑影像学结果显示,22例(61%)大脑左侧发生梗死,13例(36%)基底节梗死;12例完成磁共振血管成像检查,9例(75%)累及大脑中动脉。29例患儿完成脑电图检查,21例(72%)出现尖波,10例(34%)出现电发作。不同医院对症支持治疗不同。12例(33%)完善新生儿行为神经测定评分,平均得分(32±4)分。共随访27例患儿12月龄左右的预后情况,44%(12/27)的患儿预后良好。结论新生儿脑卒中主要为缺血性脑卒中,多以惊厥为首发症状,多累及大脑中动脉,脑电图多出现尖波,神经发育评分较低,以对症支持治疗为主,部分患儿预后不良。
