Effect of geometry simplification and boundary condition specification on flow field and aerodynamic noise in the train head and bogie region of high-speed trains

The purpose of this study is to determine a suitable modeling method to make computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulation more efficient for aeroacoustics optimization of the bogie region of high-speed *** this end,four modeling methods are considered,which involve different geometry simplifications and boundary condition *** corresponding models are named the three-car marshalling model,computational domain shortening model,carbody shortening model,and sub-domain *** the detached eddy simulation(DES)model and Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings(FW-H)equation,the unsteady flow field and far-field noise of the four models are *** evaluate the effect of the different modeling methods,the time-averaged flow field,fluctuating flow field,and far-field noise results of the four models are compared and analyzed in detail with the results of the three-car marshalling model used as basis for *** results show that the flow field results of the bogie region predicted by the four models have relatively high ***,the usage of the non-time varying outlet boundary conditions in the computational domain shortening model and sub-domain model could affect the pressure fluctuation on the upstream carbody *** only the bogie region is used as the source surface,the differences between the far-field noise results of the three simplified models and the three-car marshalling model are all within 1 dB;when the train head is used as the source surface,the results of the carbody shortening model and the three-car marshalling model are more consistent.

Aerial algae on the surface of carbonate rocks at the Stone Forest, Shilin County, Yunnan Province,{2., and their bioerosion were investigated in the field and studied in the laboratory in detail. Through the observation, identification and statistics of more than one hun- dred algal samples and rock samples with the optical microscopes (stereomicroscope, biological microscope) and the scanning electronic microscope (SEM), the relationships between erosional forms on the surface of the Stone Forest and algae and/or algal communities and the genetic mechanism for the formation of erosional forms were analyzed. It is suggested that aerial algae play an active role in bioerosive processes that may affect the formation of karst erosional forms. These effects include both direct and indirect ones. The direct effect is the initiative control (algal shape-controlling role) of algae on the formation of karst forms of various scales, mostly mi- cro-scale (10-3m) and minor-scale (10-3-10-1m) erosional forms. The algal shape-controlling roles can be divided into the algal individual shape-controlling role and the algal community shape-controlling role. The former mostly controls the formation of micro-scale erosional forms, while the latter mostly controls the formation of micro-scale and smaller minor-scale erosional forms. The indirect effect refers to the promoting role of algae in the formation of karst forms, which may affect the formation of karst forms of all types and scales. The bioerosion of algae accelerates the weathering process of the whole Stone Forest karst landforms.

Prediction of lime utilization ratio of dephosphorization in BOF steelmaking based on online sequential extreme learning machine with forgetting mechanism

The machine learning models of multiple linear regression(MLR),support vector regression(SVR),and extreme learning ma-chine(ELM)and the proposed ELM models of online sequential ELM(OS-ELM)and OS-ELM with forgetting mechanism(FOS-ELM)are applied in the prediction of the lime utilization ratio of dephosphorization in the basic oxygen furnace steelmaking *** ELM model exhibites the best performance compared with the models of MLR and ***-ELM and FOS-ELM are applied for sequential learning and model *** optimal number of samples in validity term of the FOS-ELM model is determined to be 1500,with the smallest population mean absolute relative error(MARE)value of 0.0582.6 for the *** variable importance analysis reveals lime weight,initial P content,and hot metal weight as the most important variables for the lime utilization *** lime utilization ratio increases with the decrease in lime weight and the increases in the initial P content and hot metal weight.A prediction system based on FOS-ELM is applied in actual industrial production for one *** hit ratios of the predicted lime utilization ratio in the error ranges of±1%,±3%,and±5%are 61.16%,90.63%,and 94.11%,*** coefficient of determination,MARE,and root mean square error are 0.8670,0.0682.,and 1.42.5,*** system exhibits desirable performance for applications in actual industrial pro-duction.

Over the past two decades, scientific drilling into sediments and rocks in the ocean and the continent has revealed the presence of physiologically and phylogenetically complex microbial life in the deep subsurface. Microorganisms, most of which have no cultured or known relatives in the surface biosphere, have been discovered in sediments and rock at depth as deep as 1 km below the seafloor and more than 3 km deep in the continent. The deep biosphere probably represents the most voluminous part of the global biosphere and may constitute as much as 50% of the earth’s biomass. In this article, we review the current knowledge of and most recent advances in studying the deep biosphere and suggest directions in future research.

A pH/ROS dual-responsive system for effective chemoimmunotherapy against melanoma via remodeling tumor immune microenvironment

Chemotherapeutics can induce immunogenic cell death(ICD)in tumor cells,offering new possibilities for cancer ***,the efficiency of the immune response generated is insufficient due to the inhibitory nature of the tumor microenvironment(TME).here,we developed a pH/reactive oxygen species(ROS)dual-response system to enhance chemoimmunotherapy for *** system productively accumulated in tumors by specific binding of phenylboronic acid(PBA)to sialic acids(SA).The nanoparticles(NPs)rapidly swelled and released quercetin(QUE)and doxorubicin(DOX)upon the stimulation of tumor microenvironment(TME).The in vitro and in vivo results consistently demonstrated that the NPs improved anti-tumor efficacy and prolonged survival of mice,significantly enhancing the effects of the *** study revealed DOX was an ICD inducer,stimulating immune responses and promoting maturation of dendritic cells(DCs).Additionally,QUE served as a TME regulator by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase-2.COX2.-prostaglandin E2.PGE2.axis,which influenced various immune cells,including increasing cytotoxic T cells(CLTs)infiltration,promoting M1 macrophage polarization,and reducing regulatory T cells(Tregs)*** combination synergistically facilitated chemoimmunotherapy efficacy by remodeling the immunosuppressive *** work presents a promising strategy to increase anti-tumor efficiency of chemotherapeutic agents.

A multi-scale second-order autoregressive recursive filter approach for the sea ice concentration analysis

To effectively extract multi-scale information from observation data and improve computational efficiency,a multi-scale second-order autoregressive recursive filter(MSRF)method is *** second-order autoregressive filter used in this study has been attempted to replace the traditional first-order recursive filter used in spatial multi-scale recursive filter(SMRF)*** experimental results indicate that the MSRF scheme successfully extracts various scale information resolved by ***,compared with the SMRF scheme,the MSRF scheme improves computational accuracy and efficiency to some *** MSRF scheme can not only propagate to a longer distance without the attenuation of innovation,but also reduce the mean absolute deviation between the reconstructed sea ice concentration results and observations reduced by about 3.2.compared to the SMRF *** the other hand,compared with traditional first-order recursive filters using in the SMRF scheme that multiple filters are executed,the MSRF scheme only needs to perform two filter processes in one iteration,greatly improving filtering *** the two-dimensional experiment of sea ice concentration,the calculation time of the MSRF scheme is only 1/7 of that of SMRF *** means that the MSRF scheme can achieve better performance with less computational cost,which is of great significance for further application in real-time ocean or sea ice data assimilation systems in the future.

Primary liver cancer,which is mainly composed of hepatocellular carcinoma(HcC),is the sixth most common type of cancer worldwide and the thirdmost common cause of cancer mortality.1 The total number of mutations present in tumor specimens is called tumor mutation burden(TMB)and it is an emerging biomarker of immunotherapy response.2.TMB can predict clinical responses to immunotherapy such as ICl(immune checkpoint inhibitor)treatments and higher TMB is related to better survival.3 TP53,a gene encoding a tumor suppressor protein that triggers apoptosis and cell cycle arrest,is one of the most prevalent mutations in 2.%-30%of HCC patients.4 Research shows that TP53 mutations in HCC patients are associated with advanced tumor grade and poor prognosis.5 To identify the TP53 mutation-related genes which can predict HCC patients'prognosis and explore the immune cell infiltration,we constructed a risk model based on six TP53 mutation-related genes which can accurately predict patients'***,six immune cells with a similar expression pattern were identified in The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)and International Cancer Genome Consortium(ICGC)databases.

An experimental study of dehydration melting of phengite-bearing eclogite at 1.5―3.0 GPa

Dehydration melting experiments were performed on ultrahigh-pressure eclogite from Bixiling in the Dabie orogen at 1.5―3.0 GPa and 800―950℃ using piston cylinder apparatus. The results show that (1) eclogite with ~5% phengite started to melt at T≤800―850℃ and P = 1.5―2.0 GPa and produced about 3% granitic melt; (2. the products of dehydration melting of phengite-bearing eclogite vary with temperature and pressure. Fluid released from dehydration of phengite and zoisite leads to partial melting of eclogite and formation of plagioclase reaction rim around kyanite at pressures of 1.5―2.0 GPa and temperatures of 800―850℃; (3) phengite reacted with omphacite and quartz and produced oligoclase, kyanite and melt at elevated temperatures. Oligoclase is the primary reaction product produced by partial melting of phengite in the eclogite; and (4) the dehydration melting of phengite-bearing eclogite at pressures of 1.5―3.0 GPa and temperatures ≥900 ℃ results in formation of garnets with higher molar fraction of pyrope (37.67 wt.%―45.94 wt.%). Potassium feldspar and jadeite occur at P = 2.4―3.0 GPa and T≥900 ℃ , indicating higher pressure and fluid-absent conditions. Our results constrain the solidus for dehydration melting of phengite-bearing eclogite at pressures of 1.5―3.0 GPa. Combining experi- mental results with field observations of partial melting in natural eclogites, we concluded that phengite-bearing eclogites from the Dabie-Sulu orogen were able to partially molten at P = 1.5―2.0 GPa and T = 800―850℃ during exhumation. The ultrahigh-high pressure eclogites would have experienced partial melting in association with metamorphic phase transformation under different fluid conditions.
