A series of nanocomposites based on poly（ε-caprolactone）（PCL） and graphene oxide （GO） were prepared by in situ polymerization. Scanning electron microscopy observation revealed not only a well dispersion of GO but also a strong interfacial interaction between GO and the PCL matrix, as evidenced by the presence of some GO nanosheets embedded in the matrix. Effects of GO nanofillers on the crystal structure, crystallization behavior and spherulitic morphology of the PCL matrix were investigated in detail. The results showed that the crystallization temperature of PCL enhanced significantly due to the presence of GO in the nanocomposites, however, the addition of GO did not affect the crystal structure greatly. Thermal stability of PCL remarkably increased with the addition of GO nanosheets, compared with that of pure PCL. Incorporation of GO greatly improved the tensile strength and Young＇s modulus of PCL without a significant loss of the elongation at break.

Effects of Long-Term Organic Amendments on Soil Organic Carbon in a Paddy Field: A Case Study on Red Soil

Soil organic carbon （SOC） is one of the main carbon reservoirs in the terrestrial ecosystem. It is important to study SOC dynamics and effects of organic carbon amendments in paddy fields because of their vest expansion in south China. A study was carried out to evaluate the relationship between the SOC content and organic carbon input under various organic amendments at a long-term fertilization experiment that was established on a red soil under a double rice cropping system in 1981. The treatments included non-fertilization （CK）, nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium fertilization in early rice only （NPK）, green manure （Astragalus sinicus L.） in early rice only （OM1）, high rate of green manure in early rice only （OM2）, combined green manure in early rice and farmyard manure in late rice （OM3）, combined green manure in early rice, farmyard manure in late rice and rice straw mulching in winter （OM4）, combined green manure in early rice and rice straw mulching in winter （OMS）. Our data showed that the SOC content was the highest under OM3 and OM4, followed by OM1, OM2 and OM5, then NPK fertilization, and the lowest under non-fertilization. However, our analyses in SOC stock indicated a significant difference between OM3 （33.9 t ha^-1） and OM4 （31.8 t ha^-1）, but no difference between NPK fertilization （27 t ha^-1） and nonfertilization （28.1 t ha^-1）. There was a significant linear increase in SOC over time for all treatments, and the slop of linear equation was greater in organic manure treatments （0.276-0.344 g kg-1 yr^-1） than in chemical fertilizer （0.216 g kg^-1 yr^-1） and no fertilizer （0.127 g kg^-1 yr^-1）.

Refill friction stir spot welding was employed to produce 6061-T6 aluminum alloy joints with different sleeve plunge *** interface characteristics of joint-line remnant and hook are investigated by optical and scanning electron *** joint-line remnant consists of primary bonding region and secondary bonding region,and two types of hook can be identified as downward hook and upward *** shear results demonstrate that joint-line remnant and hook make interaction effects on tensile shear *** optimal joint is achieved when sleeve plunge depth was 2.0 mm with the corresponding failure load of 8673.4 *** different types of fracture mode are exhibited in joints produced at different sleeve plunge depths,which are closely related with the morphology of interface characteristics.

Multi-step Reaction Route Developed for Improving Crystallinity of Boron Nitride Nanoparticles

A multi-step reaction route was developed to synthesize boron nitride（BN） nanoparticles via the reactionbetween NaN3 and BC13 in a benzene-thermal solution. By means of this route, the crystallinity of BN nanoparticleswas improved via increasing the reaction steps. Meanwhile, a phase transformation from hexagonal BN（hBN） or tur-bostratic BN（tBN） to cubic BN（cBN） occurred, resulting in the increase of cBN content. Moreover, the content ofcBN also slightly increased when the temperature was elevated from 265 ℃ to 280 ℃.

As one member of the Ras super family, Rheb is an upstream regulator of mTOR signaling pathway, which regulates the process of cell-growth, proliferation and differentiation. In order to study the relationship between Rheb and mTOR in Inner Mongolian Cashmere goat （Capra hircus） cells, Ras homolog enriched in brain （Rheb） gene eDNA was amplified by RT-PCR. It is 555 bp in length and includes the complete ORF encoding 184 amino acids （GenBank accession no. HM569224）. The full eDNA nucleotide sequence has a 99% identity with that of sheep, 98% with cattle and 93% with human while their amino acids sequence shares identity with 98, 97 and 97% of them, correspondingly. The bioinformatics analysis showed that Rheb has a Ras family domain, two casein kinase II phosphorylation sites, two ATP/GTP-binding sites motifA （P-loop）, a prenyl group binding site （CAAX box）. Tissue-specific expression analysis performed by semi- quantitative RT-PCR. The Rheb gene was expressed in all the tested tissues and the highest level ofmRNA accumulation was detected in brain, suggesting that Rheb played an important role in goat cells.
