Supported Au catalysts for low-temperature CO oxidation were prepared by solvated metal atom impregnation (SMAI) and conventional impregnation (Cl). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) investigations indicated that the elemental gold in all the samples was in the metallic state, XRD measurements showed that the mean diameters of Au particles prepared by SMAI were smaller than those prepared by Cl with the same gold content. Catalytic tests showed that the SMAI catalyst had higher CO oxidation activity than the CI catalyst with the same compositions. Both SMAI and Cl catalysts exhibited high activity in low temperature CO oxidation. Full CO conversion was obtained at 323-383K.

Diisopropyltren was synthesized from the reaction of tren with benzaldehyde in toluene, followed by reducing the imine intermediate with NaBH4, and debenzylation catalyzed by 10% Pd/C in methanol. It was then converted to its corresponding azaphosphatrane via ring-closing reaction of HMPT and triflic acid. Deprotonation of azaphosphatrane with potassium t-butoxide afforded the target diisopropyl proazaphosphatrane ld. A comparative study of compound ld for isomerization of allylic system and methylene-interrupted diene system revealed that compound ld is more efficient than its tri-substituted analoque（lb）. In acetonitrile at 40 ℃, allylaromatics were selectively isomerized to 1-arylpropene generally in an isolated yield more than 95% with trans, cis molar ratios in a range of 87/13 to 96/4. Allyl phenylsulfide was converted to 1-phenylthiopropene（molar ratio of Z/E=54/46） in a yield of 93%-95%. Methylene-interrupted dienes were also isomerized in high yield.

It was demonstrated that xanthine oxidoreductase (XOR), during ischemia, catalyzes the formation of nitric oxide (NO) from nitrite (NO_2^-) and this NO_2^--derived NO protects the isolated perfused rat heart against the damaging effects of ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) when conventional nitric oxide synthase (NOS) -dependent NO production is impaired. Liver is one of the organs with the highest XOR concentration. This study was designed to determine whether NO_2^--derived NO by XOR protects liver against I/R injury in vivo. For its minute amounts and active reactivity, NO can not be detected directly in real time in vivo by this time. We have to prove the above hypothesis indirectly. METHODS:Wistar rats were pretreated with saline, NOS inhibitor L-NAME (10 mg/kg intravenously), XOR inhibitor allopurinol (1.5 mg/kg orally), L-NAME +allopurinol and NO scavenger carboxy-PTIO (0.6 mg/kg intravenously) respectively (12 animals per group). And then, they were subjected to total liver ischemia for 40 minutes followed by reperfusion. Blood samples and liver tissues were obtained for analysis after 3 hours of reperfusion. Survival was also investigated. RESULTS:Allopurinol-treated animals exhibited further increased serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels and liver myeloperoxidase (MPO) activities, but further decreased liver adenosine triphosphate (ATP) stores after I/R compared to saline-treated counterparts (830.5±108.3 U/L, 56.5±11.0 U/mg protein and 1.93±0.47 μmol/g vs. 505.8± 184.2 U/L, 41.5±10.2 U/mg protein and 3.05±0.55 μmol/g respectively, P<0.01, P<0.05 and P<0.01 respectively). The hepatocyte injury was further exacerbated and the overall survival rate was significantly decreased after I/R in animals given by allopurinol compared to those pretreated by saline (P<0.05). L-NAME and allopurinol co-treated animals exhibited more severe liver injury (P<0.05 and P<0.01) and a further decreased overall survival rate (P<0.05) compared to L-NAME or allopurinol alone-trea

AIM: The expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and its receptors KDR and Flt-1 by gastric carcinoma tissues and different gastric carcinoma cell lines was detected to elucidate the molecular mechanism of this growth factor in promoting tumor ***: The expression of VEGF, Flt-1 and KDR was determined by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) in gastric cancer cell lines RF-1, RF-48,AGS-1, NCI-N87, NCI-SNU-1, NCI-SNU-5, NCI-SNU-16 and KATO-Ⅲ. The expression of Flt-1 and KDR in paraffinembedded specimens of gastric cancer was determined by immunohistochemistry. The 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay was used to assess the role of VEGF in tumor cell ***: All 8 gastric cancer cell lines analyzed expressed VEGF121 and VEGF16s and six of them expressed both Flt-1 and KDR, while cell line NCI-SNU-5 expressed Flt-1 only and cell line KATOⅢ expressed neither Flt-1 nor KDR. The gastric carcinoma tissues expressed Flt-1 and KDR widely,with the positive rate of expression of Flt-1 and KDR being 84.6 % and 70 % respectively. The exogenous VEGF stimulated the growth of KDR-positive cell lines NCI-N87 and AGS-1 in a dose-dependent manner but exhibited no effect on the growth of KDR-negative cell line ***: VEGF and its receptors KDR and Flt-1 were expressed widely in gastric carcinoma cells and the VEGF stimulated KDR-positive tumor cell growth directly. These results suggest that VEGF may play a role in promoting tumor growth and metastasis by participating in both paracrine and autocrine pathways.

We propose schemes to realize robust quantum states transfer between distant resonators using the topological edge states of a one-dimensional circuit quantum electrodynamics(QED)*** show that the distribution of edge states can be regulated accordingly with the on-site defects added on the *** we can achieve different types of quantum state transfer without adjusting the number of *** simulations demonstrate that the on-site defects can be used as a change-over switch for high-fidelity single-qubit and two-qubit quantum states *** work provides a viable prospect for flexible quantum state transfer in solid-state topological quantum system.

Co-Pd bimetallic catalysts immobilized with four kinds of resins with different specific areas were prepared by means of the solvated metal atom impregnation (SMAI) method. The results of the XRD and the magnetic measurement showed that as the specific area of the resin increased, the particle sizes of Co and Pd on the catalysts with the same metal content decreased, so the catalytic activity of the catalysts for the hydrogenation of diacetone alcohol as well as the reduction of oxygen on the fuel cell electrode increased. Below 140 , the conversion of diacetone alcohol increased as the reaction temperature increased, and above 140 , the conversion decreased because of the rupture of the resin.
