Allelic reprogramming of chromatin states in human early embryos

The reprogramming of parental epigenomes in human early embryos remains elusive. To what extent the characteristics of parental epigenomes are conserved between humans and mice is currently unknown. Here,we mapped parental haploid epigenomes using human parthenogenetic and androgenetic embryos. Human embryos have a larger portion of genome with parentally specific epigenetic states than mouse *** allelic patterns of epigenetic states for orthologous regions are not conserved between humans and mice. Nevertheless, it is conserved that maternal DNA methylation and paternal H3K27me3 are associated with the repression of two alleles in humans and mice. In addition, for DNA-methylation-dependent imprinting, we report 19 novel imprinted genes and their associated germline differentially methylated regions. Unlike in mice, H3K27me3-dependent imprinting is not observed in human early ***, allele-specific epigenomic reprogramming is different in humans and mice.

The regeneration of Tetracentron sinense *** poor in the understory and in open areas due to the charac-teristics of natural regeneration of the species on forest edges and in *** is unclear whether different light intensities in various habitats affect eco-physiological characteristics of saplings and their natural *** this study,the light intensity in *** habitats was simulated by artificial shading(L1:100%NS(natural sunlight)in the open;L2:50%NS in a forest gap or edge;L3:10%NS in understory)to investigate differences in morphology,leaf structure,physiology,and photosynthesis of 2-year-old sap-lings,and to analyze the mechanism of light intensity on sapling *** differences were observed in morphology(including leaf area,and specific leaf area)under different light *** to L1 and L3,chloroplast structure in L2 was *** increasing time,superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT)activities in L2 became gradually higher than under the other light intensities,while malondialdehyde(MDA)content was *** decreased osmoregulation substance contents of leaves but increased *** results suggest that light intensities significantly affect the eco-physiological characteristics of *** saplings and they would respond most favorably at intermediate levels of light by optimizing eco-physiological ***,50%natural sunlight should be created to promote saplings establishment and population recovery of *** during in situ conservation,including sowing mature seeds in forest edges or gaps and providing appropriate shade protection for seedlings and saplings in the open.

Despite decades of research,cancer continues to be a major global health *** human mouth appears to be a multiplicity of local environments communicating with other organs and causing diseases via ***,the role of oral microbes in the development and progression of cancer has received increasing *** the same time,bioengineering technology and nanotechnology is growing rapidly,in which the physiological activities of natural bacteria are modified to improve the therapeutic efficiency of *** engineered bacteria were transformed to achieve directed genetic reprogramming,selective functional reorganization and precise *** contrast to endotoxins produced by typical genetically modified bacteria,oral flora exhibits favorable biosafety *** outline the current cognitions upon oral microbes,engineered microbes and human cancers,related literatures were searched and reviewed based on the PubMed *** focused on a number of oral microbes and related mechanisms associated with the tumor microenvironment,which involve in cancer occurrence and *** engineering oral bacteria can be a possible application of cancer therapy is worth consideration.A deeper understanding of the relationship between engineered oral bacteria and cancer therapy may enhance our knowledge of tumor pathogenesis thus providing new insights and strategies for cancer prevention and treatment.

Graphene reinforced magnesium matrix composites have wide applications in automotive,electronics,aerospace and military fields due to the fascinating mechanical ***,it is difficult to realize the high strength and ductility *** this work,the in situ liquid-state method was utilized to prepare GNPs/Mg6Zn composites via CO_(2)/Mg chemical *** strength of the GNPs/Mg6Zn composites was improved with increasing content of the ***,the composites also exhibit a notable plastic deformation stage,and especially the ductility of 0.12 GNPs/Mg6Zn composites reaches 27.6%.Therefore,this novel preparation method has great potential application for fabricating Mg matrix composites with high strength and high ductility.

Direction finding of bistatic MIMO radar in strong impulse noise

For bistatic multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)radar,this paper presents a robust and direction finding method in strong impulse noise *** means of a new lower order covariance,the method is effective in suppressing impulse noise and achieving superior direction finding performance using the maximum likelihood(ML)estimation method.A quantum equilibrium optimizer algorithm(QEOA)is devised to resolve the corresponding objective function for efficient and accurate direc-tion *** results of simulation reveal the capability of the presented method in success rate and root mean square error over existing direction-finding methods in different application situations,e.g.,locating coherent signal sources with very few snapshots in strong impulse *** than that,the Cramér-Rao bound(CRB)under impulse noise environment has been drawn to test the capability of the presented method.

Effect of sodium starch octenyl succinate-based Pickering emulsion on the physicochemical properties of hairtail myofibrillar protein gel subjected to multiple freeze-thaw cycles

A Pickering emulsion based on sodium starch octenyl succinate(SSOS)was prepared and its effects on the physicochemical properties of hairtail myofibrillar protein gels(MPGs)subjected to multiple freeze-thaw(F-T)cycles were *** whiteness,water-holding capacity,storage modulus(G')and texture properties of the MPGs were significantly improved by adding 1%-2%Pickering emulsion(P<0.05).Meanwhile,Raman spectral analysis demonstrated that Pickering emulsion promoted the transformation of secondary structure,enhanced hydrogen bonds and hydrophobic interactions,and promoted the transition of disulfide bond conformation from g-g-g to g-g-t and *** an emulsion concentration of 2%,theα-helix content decreased by 10.37%,while theβ-sheet content increased by 7.94%,compared to the *** F-T cycles,the structure of the MPGs was destroyed,with an increase in hardness and a decrease in whiteness and water-holding capacity,however,the quality degradation of MPGs was reduced with 1%-2%Pickering *** findings demonstrated that SSOS-Pickering emulsions,as potential fat substitutes,can enhance the gel properties and the F-T stability of MPGs.

Stability analysis of loose accumulation slopes under rainfall:case study of a high‑speed railway in Southwest China

The high and steep slopes along a high-speed railway in the mountainous area of Southwest China are mostly composed of loose accumulations of debris with large internal pores and poor stability,which can easily induce adverse geological disasters under rainfall *** ensure the smooth construction of the high-speed railway and the subsequent safe operation,it is necessary to master the stability evolution process of the loose accumulation slope under *** article simulates rainfall using the finite element analysis software’s hydromechanical coupling *** slope stability under various rainfall situations is calculated and analysed based on the strength reduction *** validate the simulation results,a field monitoring system is established to study the deformation characteristics of the slope under *** results show that rainfall duration is the key factor affecting slope *** a constant amount of rainfall,the stability of the slope decreases with increasing duration of ***,when the amount and duration of rainfall are constant,continuous rainfall has a greater impact on slope stability than intermittent *** setting of the field retaining structures has a significant role in improving slope *** field monitoring data show that the slope is in the initial deformation stage and has good stability,which verifies the rationality of the numerical simulation *** research results can provide some references for understanding the influence of rainfall on the stability of loose accumulation slopes along high-speed railways and establishing a monitoring system.

Photochemical Production of Methyl Halides with Guaiacol as the Precursor

Methyl halides are crucial trace greenhouse gases in the atmosphere,playing a significant role in global climate change and the atmospheric *** study investigated the photochemical production of methyl halides in an artificial seawater system using guaiacol as a precursor through laboratory simulation *** influences of various environmental factors,including illumination time,radiation wavebands,illumination intensity,concentrations of guaiacol and halide ions(X^(-)),Fe^(3+),salinity,dissolved oxygen(DO),and pH value on the photochemical production of methyl halides were *** demonstrated that increased illumination intensity and duration promote the photochemical production of methyl halides,with a notable enhancement under UV-B *** and halide ions were identified as key precursors,and their high concentrations facilitated the formation of methyl ***,different types of halide ions exhibited a competitive relationship in producing methyl *** study found that an increase in pH inhibited the photochemical formation of CH_(3)I due to the reaction between OH^(-)and·CH_(3).Dissolved oxygen was found to inhibit the photochemical formation of CH3I while promoting the formation of CH_(3)***,an appropriate concentration of Fe^(3+)enhanced the photochemical production of methyl *** observations indicated a high photochemical production of methyl halides in the natural waters near Qingdao’s coastal area,likely due to the high concentration of dissolved organic matter(DOM),which supports photochemical ***,the photochemical production of methyl halides in natural seawater was significantly higher than in dark conditions,underscoring the importance of illumination in promoting these photochemical processes in seawater.

Environmental benefits and farmers' adoption of winter cover crops in the North China Plain

The introduction of cover crops into monoculture systems to improve soil health has been widely adopted worldwide. However, little is known about the environmental risks and application prospects of different cover crops in spring maize(Zea mays L.) monocultures proposed in the North China Plain. A pot experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of different winter cover crops on subsequent maize yield, soil fertility, and environmental risks of nitrogen(N) loss, and a questionnaire survey was conducted to examine factors influencing farmers' willingness to adopt cover crops in the North China Plain. Based on the same fertilization regime during the maize growing period, four winter cover crop treatments were set up, including bare fallow, hairy vetch(Vicia villosa Roth.), February orchid(Orychophragmus violaceus), and winter oilseed rape(Brassica campestris L.). The results indicated that winter cover crops significantly increased subsequent maize yield and soil organic carbon, total N, and microbial biomass carbon and N compared with the bare fallow *** incorporation of cover crops led to a negligible increase in nitrous oxide(N_(2)O) emissions and had a very limited effect on ammonia(NH_(3)) *** incorporation of February orchid and winter oilseed rape decreased nitrate leaching compared with the hairy vetch treatment in the maize growing *** N losses via N_(2)O and NH_(3) emissions and N leaching accounted for 71%–84% of the N surplus. However, yield increase and environmental benefits were not the main positive factors for farmers to accept cover crops. Financial incentive was rated by 83.9% of farmers as an “extremely important” factor, followed by other costs, when considering winter cover cropping. These results indicate that the environmental benefits depend on the type of cover crop. Maintaining high levels of soil fertility and maize yield, providing sufficient subsidies, and encouraging large-area cultivation of cover crops

Supramolecular Macrocycle Regulated Single-Atom MoS2@Co Catalysts for Enhanced Oxygen Evolution Reaction

The development of active water oxidation catalysts for water splitting has stimulated considerable interest. Herein, the design and building of single atom Co sites using a supramolecular tailoring strategy are reported, that is,the introduction of pillar[4]arene[1]quinone （P4A1Q） permits mononuclear Co species stereoelectronically assembled on MoS2matrix to construct an atomically dispersed MoS2@Co catalyst with modulated local electronic structure, definite chemical environment and enhanced oxygen evolution reaction performance. Theoretical calculations indicate that immsobilized single-Co sites exhibit an optimized adsorption capability of oxygencontaining intermediates, endowing the catalyst an excellent electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction activity, with a low overpotential of 370 mV at10 mA cm-2and a small Tafel slope of 90 mV dec-1. The extendable potential of this strategy to other electrocatalysts such as MoS2@Ni and MoS2@Zn, and other applications such as the hydrogen evolution reaction was also demonstrated. This study affords new insights into the rational design of single metal atom systems with enhanced electrocatalytic performance.
