AIM:To investigate the association of PNPLA3 polymorphisms with concurrent chronic hepatitis B(CHB) and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).METHODS:A cohort of han patients with biopsyproven CHB,with or without NAFLD(CHB group,n = 51;CHB + NAFLD group,n = 57),and normal controls(normal group,n = 47) were recruited from Northern(Tianjin),Central(Shanghai),and Southern(zhangzhou) *** PNPLA3 polymorphisms were genotyped by gene *** association between PNPLA3 polymorphisms and susceptibility to NAFLD,and clinical characteristics of NAFLD were evaluated on the basis of physical indices,liver function tests,glycolipid metabolism,and histopathologic *** association of PNPLA3 polymorphisms and hepatitis B virus(HBV) load was determined by the serum level of HBV ***:After adjusting for age,sex,and body mass index,we found that four linked single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) of PNPLA3,including the rs738409 G allele(CHB + NAFLD group vs CHB group:odds ratio[OR]= 2.77,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.18-6.54;P = 0.02),rs3747206 T allele(CHB+ NAFLD group vs CHB group:OR = 2.77,95%CI:1.18-6.54;P = 0.02),rs4823173 A allele(CHB +NAFLD group vs CHB group:OR = 2.73,95%CI:1.16-6.44;P= 0.02),and rs2072906 G allele(CHB+ NAFLD group vs CHB group:OR = 3.05,95%CI:1.28-7.26;P = 0.01),conferred high risk to NAFLD in CHB *** patients with both CHB and NAFLD,these genotypes of PNPLA3 polymorphisms were associated with increased susceptibility to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)(NAFLD activity score ≥3;P =0.01-0.03) and liver fibrosis(>1 Metavir grading;P =0.01-0.04).As compared to those with C/C and C/G at rs738409,C/C and C/T at rs3747206,G/G and G/A at rs4823173,and A/A and A/G at rs2072906,patients in the CHB + NAFLD group with G/G at rs738409,T/T at rs3747206,A/A at rs4823173,and G/G at rs2072906 showed significantly lower serum levels of HBV DNA(P< 0.01-0.05).CONCLUSION:Four linked SNPs of PNPLA3(rs738409,rs3747206,rs4823173,and rs2072906) a

The ^(232)Th(n,f)cross section is very important in basic nuclear physics and applications based on the Th/U fuel *** the time-of-flight method and a multi-cell fast-fission ionization chamber,a novel measurement of the^(232)Th(n,f)cross sec-tion relative to^(235)U in the 1–200 MeV range was performed at the China Spallation Neutron Source Back-n white neutron source(Back-n).The fission event-neutron energy spectra of^(232)Th and^(235)U fission cells were measured in the single-bunch *** 232Th/235U fission cross-sectional ratios were obtained,and the measurement uncertainties were 2.5–3.7%for energies in the 2–20 MeV range and 3.6–6.2%for energies in the 20–200 MeV ***^(232)Th(n,f)cross section was obtained by introducing the standard cross section of^(235)U(n,f).The results were compared with those of previous theoreti-cal calculations,measurements,and *** measured 232Th fission cross section agreed with the main evaluation results in terms of the experimental uncertainty,and 232Th fission resonances were observed in the 1–3 MeV *** present results provide^(232)Th(n,f)cross-sectional data for the evaluation and design of Th/U cycle nuclear systems.

Back-streaming neutrons from the spallation target of the China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS)that emit through the incoming proton channel were exploited to build a white neutron beam facility(the so-called Back-n white neutron source),which was completed in March *** Back-n neutron beam is very intense,at approximately 29107 n/cm2/s at 55 m from the target,and has a nominal proton beam with a power of 100 kW in the CSNS-I phase and a kinetic energy of 1.6 GeV and a thick tungsten target in multiple slices with modest moderation from the cooling water through the *** addition,the excellent energy spectrum spanning from 0.5 eV to 200 MeV,and a good time resolution related tothe time-of-flight measurements make it a typical white neutron source for nuclear data measurements;its overall performance is among that of the best white neutron sources in the *** with advanced spectrometers,detectors,and application utilities,the Back-n facility can serve wide applications,with a focus on neutron-induced cross-sectional *** article presents an overview of the neutron beam characteristics,the experimental setups,and the ongoing applications at Backn.

Background The assembled data from a population could provide information on health trends within the *** aim of this research was to extract and know basic health information from an urban professional population in *** Data analysis was carried out in a population who underwent a routine medical check-up and aged 〉20 years,including 30 058 *** information,data from physical examinations and blood samples were collected in the same *** health status was separated into three groups by the criteria generated in this study,i.e.,people with common chronic diseases,people in a sub-clinic situation,and healthy *** proportion of both common diseases suffered and health risk distribution of different age groups were also *** The proportion of people with common chronic diseases,in the sub-clinic group and in the healthy group was 28.6%,67.8% and 3.6% *** were significant differences in the health situation in different age *** was on the top of list of self-reported *** proportion of chronic diseases increased significantly in people after 35 years of ***,the proportion of sub-clinic conditions was decreasing at the same *** complex risk factors to health in this population were metabolic disturbances （61.3%）,risk for tumor （2.7%）,abnormal results of morphological examination （8.2%） and abnormal results of lab tests of serum （27.8%）.Conclusions Health information could be extracted from a complex data set from the heath check-ups of the general *** information should be applied to support prevention and control chronic diseases as well as for directing intervention for patients with risk factors for disease.

To verify the performance of the neutron total cross-sectional spectrometer, the neutron total cross section of carbon is initially measured in the energy range of 1 eV to 20 MeV using the time-of-flight method. The measurement is performed at the Back-n white neutron source with a 76-m time-of-flight path using the China Spallation Neutron Source. A multilayer fast fission chamber with 235U and 238U is employed as the neutron detector. The diameter and thickness of the natural graphite sample are 70 mm and 40 mm, respectively. Signal waveforms are collected using a data acquisition system. Off-line data processing was used to obtain the neutron time-of-flight spectra and transmissions. The uncertainty of the counting statistics is generally approximately 3% for each bin in the energy range of 1–20 MeV. It is determined that the results for the neutron total cross section of carbon obtained using ^235U cells are in good agreement with the results obtained using 238U cells within limits of statistical uncertainty. Moreover, the measured total cross sections show good agreement with the broadening evaluated data.

As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. We present the observational results from a detailed timing analysis of the black hole candidate EXO 1846-031 during its outburst in 2019 with the observations of Insight-HXMT,NICER and *** outburst can be classified roughly into four different ***-C quasi-periodic oscillations(QPOs)observed by NICER(about 0.1-6 Hz)and Insight-HXMT(about 0.7-8 Hz)are also reported in this ***,we study various physical quantities related to QPO *** QPO rms-frequency relationship in the energy band 1-10 keV indicates that there is a turning pointing in frequency around2 Hz,which is similar to that of GRS 1915+105.A possible hypothesis for the relationship above may be related to the inclination of the source,which may require a high inclination to explain *** relationships between QPO frequency and QPO rms,hardness,total fractional rms and count rate have also been found in other transient sources,which can indicate that the origin of type-C QPOs is non-thermal.

Finding the electromagnetic （EM） counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star （BNS） merger, is critically important for gravitational wave （GW） astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017, Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart, GRB 170817A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope （HE） onboard Insight-HXMT （Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope） is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart （SSS17a/AT2017gfo） with very large collection area （M000 cm2） and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition, Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity （TOO） observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy （0.2-5 MeV） radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817A. Meanwhile, Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints （-10-7 to 104 erg/cm2/s） for both GRB170817A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. Therefore the observation of Insight-HXMT constitutes an important chapter in the full context of multi-wavelength and multi-messenger observation of this historical GW event.
