Temperature dependence of mechanical properties and damage evolution of hot dry rocks under rapid cooling

Understanding the differences in mechanical properties and damage characteristics of granitoid under high temperatures is crucial for exploring deep geothermal resources.This study analyzes the evolution of the acoustic emission(AE)characteristics and mechanical parameters of granodiorite and granite after heating and water cooling by uniaxial compression and variable-angle shear tests under different temperature gradients.We identify their changes in mesostructure and mineral composition with electron probe microanalysis and scanning electron microscopy.Results show that these two hot dry rocks have similar diagenetic minerals and microstructure,but show significantly different mechanical and acoustic characteristics,and even opposing evolution trends in a certain temperature range.At the temperatures ranging from 100℃to 500℃,the compressive and shear mechanical properties of granodiorite switch repeatedly between weakening and strengthening,and those of granite show a continuous weakening trend.At 600℃,both rocks exhibit a deterioration of mechanical properties.The damage mode of granite is characterized by initiating at low stress,exponential evolutionary activity,and intensified energy release.In contrast,granodiorite exhibits the characteristics of initiating at high stress,volatile evolutionary activity,and intermittent energy release,due to its more stable microstructure and fewer thermal defects compared to granite.As the temperature increases,the initiation and propagation of secondary cracks in granodiorite are suppressed to a certain extent,and the seismicity and brittleness are enhanced.The subtle differences in grain size,microscopic heterogeneity,and mineral composition of the two hot dry rocks determine the different acoustic-mechanical characteristics under heating and cooling,and the evolution trends with temperature.These findings are of great significance for the scientific and efficient construction of rock mass engineering by rationally utilizing different rock strata properties.

Integrative analysis of transcriptomic profile reveals potential roles of miRNAs in regulating development of Marsupenaeus japonicas

Regulation of microRNAs(miRNAs)on various biological processes has been a surprising and exciting field.Identification of miRNAs is the first step to comprehensively understand their functions.However,attempts on global identification and functional verification of miRNAs are very limited in penaeid shrimp Marsupenaeus japonicus,an economically important aquatic species.By performing an integrated analysis of transcriptomic profile from gastrula embryos of M.japonicus,21conserved miRNAs in M.japonicas(mja-miRNAs),belonging to 19 miRNA families,were identified and characterized.Of the 21 mja-miRNAs,15 miRNAs were successfully verified to be predominantly expressed in gastrula stage,where they displayed dynamic expression patterns compared with those in naupliuin stage.Based on perfect or near-perfect match to target region,120 target genes were predicted at transcriptome-wide level.Noteworthy,gene ontology(GO)classification and metabolic pathway annotation revealed eight targets that were actively involved in developmental processes.Of the predicted miRNA-mRNA pairs,six targets were then randomly selected and experimentally validated by dual luciferase reporter assay,where three pairs were proved with potential targeting activity.Overall,to search for conserved miRNAs potentially involved in early development of M.japonicus,we combined in silico and experimental methods,which can be applied in other organisms as well.Our data implied important roles of miRNAs in the early embryonic development and also suggested the presence of complex miRNA-mRNA functional networks in M.japonicus.

Divergent contributions of spring and autumn photosynthetic phenology to seasonal carbon uptake of subtropical vegetation in China

Phenological changes play a central role in regulating seasonal variation in the ecological processes,exerting significant impacts on hydrologic and nutrient cycles,and ultimately influencing ecosystem functioning such as carbon uptake.However,the potential impact mechanisms of phenological events on seasonal carbon dynamics in subtropical regions are under-investigated.These knowledge gaps hinder from accurately linking photosynthetic phenology and carbon sequestration capacity.Using chlorophyll fluorescence remote sensing and productivity data from 2000 to 2019,we found that an advancement in spring phenology increased spring gross （GPP） and net primary productivity （NPP） in subtropical vegetation of China by 2.1 gC m-2yr-1and 1.4 gC m-2yr-1,respectively.A delay in autumn phenology increased the autumnal GPP and NPP by 0.4 gC m-2yr-1and 0.2 gC m-2yr-1,respectively.Temporally,the contribution of the spring phenology to spring carbon uptake increased significantly during the study period,while this positive contribution showed a nonsignificant trend in summer.In comparison,the later autumn phenology could significantly contribute to the increase in autumnal carbon uptake;however,this contributing effect was weakened.Path analysis indicated that these phenomena have been caused by the increased leaf area and enhanced photosynthesis due to earlier spring and later autumn phenology,respectively.Our results demonstrate the diverse impacts of vegetation phenology on the seasonal carbon sequestration ability and it is imperative to consider such asymmetric effects when modeling ecosystem processes parameterized under future climate change.

Spatiotemporal distribution of fish eggs and larvae in the Huanghe(Yellow) River estuary, China in 2005–2016

Decreasing fish resources in estuaries is a subject of anthropogenic activities. Studies of the spatiotemporal distribution of fish eggs and larvae can help identify the status and processes underlying recruitment in a fishery. As the fifth largest river estuary in the world, the Huanghe (Yellow) River estuary (HRE) is a typical estuary that has been seriously aff ected by human activities. Annual surveys on ichthyoplankton and environmental factors were conducted in the months of May of 2005 and 2009-2016 in the HRE to investigate the spatiotemporal distribution of fish eggs and larvae and the associated infl uencing factors. A total of 23 and 20 species of eggs and larvae, respectively, were collected. The dominant orders were Perciformes (51.2%) and Clupeiformes (25.6%). The average number of fish species eggs and larvae were 6.0 and 4.1 in average abundance of 0.91 and 0.13 ind./m^3 , respectively. The dominant species were mainly low-commercial-value small-sized fishes, such as Clupanodon punctatus , Harengula zunasi, and Acanthogobius, whereas certain traditional commercial fishes, such as Trichiurus lepturus , and Clupea pallasii, were not seen. Analysis of the fish egg and larval community revealed four temporal assemblages and two spatial assemblages. Salinity was the main factor on the spatial distribution of ichthyoplankton communities, the species number and Shannon-Weiner diversity index (H′) of the fish egg and larval community near the river mouth with lower salinity were signifi cantly lower than the community far away from the river mouth with higher salinity. In addition, increases of water temperature promoted the number and abundance of fish species eggs, and the areas of abundant prey tended to have a more diversified and abundant of ichthyoplankton species. In overall, overfishing, dam construction, and other human activities were the main drivers that led to the substantial decline in fishery resources in the HRE.

Benthic Habitat Quality Assessment Based on Biological Indices in Xiaoqing River Estuary and Its Adjacent Sea of Laizhou Bay,China

Based on the macrofauna data(2008-2011) in Xiaoqing River estuary and its adjacent sea, Laizhou Bay of Bohai Sea, China, the AZTI Marine Biotic Index(AMBI) and Multivariate AMBI(M-AMBI) were used for benthic habitat quality(BHQ) assessment. Results showed that BHQ presented an obvious trend of improvement along the direction of stream channel and river mouth, and in the coastal areas. AMBI and M-AMBI were significantly related to environmental pressure gradient data. Therefore, the two indices can well indicate BHQ in the studied area. However, there were significant differences between results of the two indices. In the cases of low taxa number and high abundance of single species, AMBI might overestimate BHQ. We thus adjusted its thresholds to solve this problem. And M-AMBI might overestimate BHQ when benthic assemblage was dominated by the opportunistic species. Then we could raise the weight of AMBI in the calculation of M-AMBI to handle the problem.

Macrobenthic Community in the Xiaoqing River Estuary in Laizhou Bay,China

The macrobenthic community of the Xiaoqing River Estuary and the adjacent sea waters was investigated in May and November 2008,August 2009,and May and September 2010,respectively.A total of 95 species of macrobenthos were identified in the five cruises and most of them were polychaetes(46.39%),mollusks(28.86%) and crustaceans(20.62%).The Shannon-Wiener index of macrobenthos was lower than 2 in 67% sites.Along the stream channel,estuary and the coastal waters,the species of polychaetes reduced gradually,while the abundance increased at first and then decreased.The abundance was the biggest at regions with salinity of 5 20 in the estuary.The species and abundance of mollusks and crustaceans increased gradually.As for seasonal distribution,the species,abundance and biomass were higher in spring and lower in summer and autumn.Contemporaneously compared with Laizhou Bay and Yellow River Estuary,the species of macrobenthos appeared in the Xiaoqing River Estuary were much less,while the percentage of polychaetes was higher.Abundance and biomass were higher in Xiaoqing River estuary,then consequently followed by Laizhou Bay and Yellow River Estuary.The dominant species in Xiaoqing River Estuary was polychaete,and Layzhou Bay mollusk.The community structure characteristics of macrobenthos in the Xiaoqing River Estuary revealed a significant pollution status in this region.

The Effects of Estuarine Processes on the Fluxes of Inorganic and Organic Carbon in the Yellow River Estuary

Riverine carbon flux is an important component of the global carbon cycle. The spatial and temporal variations of organic and inorganic carbon were examined during both dry and wet seasons in the Yellow River estuary. Concentrations of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) in the Yellow River during dry seasons were higher than those during wet seasons. The effective concentrations of DOC (CDOC*) were higher than the observed DOC at zero salinity. This input of DOC in the Yellow River estuary was due to sediment desorption processes in low salinity regions. In contrast to DOC, the effective concen- trations of DIC were 10% lower than the DIC measured at freshwater end, and the loss of DIC was caused by CaCO3 precipitation in low salinity region. Particulate organic carbon (POC) and particulate inorganic carbon (PIC) contents of the particles stabilized to constant values (0.5%±0.05% and 1.8%±0.2%, respectively) within the turbidity maximum zone (TMZ) and showed no noticeable seasonal variations. A rapid drop of PIC and rise of POC occurred simultaneously outside the TMZ due to an intense dilution of riverine inorganic-rich particles being transported into a pool of aquatic organic-poor particles outside the TMZ. Annually, the Yellow River transported 6.95×105 t of DIC, 0.64×105 t of DOC, 78.58×105 t of PIC and 2.29×105 t of POC to the sea.

为了获得近断层地震动准确的残余位移信息,提出了一种变步长网格搜索地震动基线校正方法。首先基于1999年我国台湾M_(W)7.6集集地震强震动数据,探讨了近断层地震动的位移特征,然后通过地震动时程初始时刻的校正获得了集集地震多组上、下盘台站之间的相对运动时程数据,分析了分别靠近断层上、下盘场地之间相对运动的位移时程特征。结果显示:近断层地震动的滑冲效应显著,断层的平均滑冲速度可高达1.4 m/s;断层两盘间的相对运动类似于近断层地震动的运动特征,且幅值更大;近断层的残余位移约是断层两盘间最大相对位移的80%.

改进麻雀搜索算法求解多目标低碳冷链物流车辆路径问题

目的在传统冷链物流的车辆路径问题模型基础上,考虑服务节点和车辆运输过程中产生的碳排放,并加入客户满意度,在有限资源情况下最小化路径成本和最大化客户满意度。方法构建多目标低碳冷链物流车辆路径问题模型,将爬山算法局部搜索思想应用到麻雀搜索算法中,形成改进麻雀搜索算法,并用其对上海市某区域内的冷链物流配送路径优化问题算例进行求解。结果通过与改进前及其他2种智能优化算法运行结果进行对比发现,改进后的麻雀搜索算法具有更快的寻优速度和更好的寻优能力,且改进后的算法对模型的碳排放效用性更高。结论基于国家的低碳政策,设计出符合当下实情的低碳冷链物流运输模型,通过改进优化算法设计运输方案,验证了爬山算法局部搜索思想对麻雀搜索算法进行改进的有效性及所构建低碳冷链物流车辆路径模型的合理性。
