Effects of Water Stress on Reactive Oxygen Species Generation and Protection System in Rice During Grain-Filling Stage

Rice is one of the main staple food crops in the world, but it may suffer serious water stress during growth period. Water stress during grain filling results in decreased grain yeild, but its mechanism generating and scavenging the active oxygen is unclear under continuance of the water stress. The experiment was carried out in growth chamber to investigate the effects of water stress on the production of superoxide free radical （O2）, hydrogen peroxide （H202）, malondialdehyde （MDA）, reduced glutathione （GSH）, ascorbic acid （AsA）, and antioxidative enzyme activities in three rice hybrids with differing drought resistant under both normal and drought conditions during grain-filling stage. The results showed that water stress aggravated the membrane lipid peroxidation in rice leaves, which was more severe in less drought resistant hybrids than that in more tolerant ones. Also O2＇ and H2O2 accumulated more rapidly in less drought resistant hybrids than that in more tolerant ones. During water stress, decreases of GSH, AsA, chlorophyll, and relative water contents in more drought resistant hybrids were obvious less than those in less tolerant ones. Activities of superoxide dismutase （SOD）, catalase （CAT） and peroxidase （POD） in/eaves increased obviously in 0-14 d after heading and subsequently decreased rapidly, and those in more drought resistant hybrids were more than those in less tolerant ones. The results showed that changes of O2, H2O2, MDA, GSH, and AsA contents and antioxidative enzyme activities correlated significantly to drought resistance of rice hybrids, and more drought resistant hybrids possessed high ant oxidation capacity.

Dynamics of microbial diversity during the composting of agricultural straw

The dynamic changes in microbial diversity during the aerobic composting of agricultural crop straw with additives were evaluated using high-throughput sequencing at four phases of composting(mesophilic,thermophilic,cooling and maturation phases).In addition,the physicochemical parameters of the composting system were determined in this *** fermentation time of the thermophilic period was prolonged with the addition of urea or urea combined with a microbial *** ratio of C/N and germination index variation indicated that the additives were favorable for composting,because the additives directly changed the physicochemical properties of the compost and had effects on the diversity and abundance of bacteria and *** abundance of operational taxonomic units(OTUs),diversity index(Shannon)and richness index(Chao1)of fungi and bacteria were found to significantly increase when urea+microbial agents were added to straw in the thermophilic *** relative abundance of the predominant bacteria and fungi at the phylum and genus levels differed during different composting *** abundance of the phyla Firmicutes and Proteobacteria declined in the order of treatments SNW>SN>S(S is straw only compost;SN is straw+5 kg t^(–1) urea compost;and SNW is straw+5 kg t^(–1) urea+1 kg t^(–1) microbial agent compost)in the thermophilic *** abundance of the genera Staphylococcus,Bacillus and Thermobifida followed the same order in the mesophilic *** accounted for more than 92%of the total fungal *** the progression of the composting process,the abundance of Ascomycota decreased *** abundance of Ascomycota followed the order of S>SN>SNW during the thermophilic *** abundance of Aspergillus accounted for 4–59%of the total abundance of fungi and increased during the first two sampling *** abundance followed the order of SNW>SN>***,principal component analysis(PCA)revealed that the community compositi

heuristic Expanding Disconnected Graph:A Rapid Path Planning Method for Mobile Robots

Hydrothermal stability is crucial for the practical application of deNO_(x)catalyst on diesel vehicles,for the selective catalytic reduction of NO_(x)with NH_(3)(NH_(3)-SCR).SnO_(2)-based materials possess superior hydrothermal stability,which is attractive for the development of NH_(3)-SCR *** this work,a series of Ce-Nb/SnO_(2)catalysts,with Ce and Nb loading on SnO_(2)support,were prepared by impregnation *** was found that,the NH_(3)-SCR activities and hydrothermal stabilities of the Ce-Nb/SnO_(2)catalysts significantly varied with the impregnation sequences,and the Ce-Nb(f)/SnO_(2) catalyst that firstly impregnated Nb and then impregnated Ce exhibited the best *** characterization results revealed that CeNb(f)/SnO_(2)possessed appropriate acidity and redox ***,the strong synergistic effect between Nb and Sn species stabilized the structure and maintained the dispersion of acid *** study may provide a new understanding for the effect of impregnation sequence on activity and hydrothermal stability and a new environmental-friendly NH_(3)-SCR catalyst with potential applications for NO_(x)removal from diesel and hydrogenfueled engines.

Difference in Selenium Accumulation in Shoots of Two Rice Cultivars

Two japonica rice （Oryza sativa L.） cultivars, Xiushui 48 and S. Andrea, differing in their ability to accumulate Se in the grain （as high as a three-fold difference）, were compared for selenium （Se） accumulation in their shoots when their growth media was supplied with different forms of Se. Results indicated that when treated with 0.25μmol L^-1 Na2SeO3, Xiushui 48 accumulation of Se in the shoots was significantly more rapid （P〈0.05） than S. Andrea, probably because of greater Se uptake and transport in Xiushui 48. Xiushui 48 rice seedlings had a higher shoot-Se accumulation rate and absorbed selenocysteine （Se-Cys） more rapidly than S. Andrea seedlings. However, when treated with Se as 0.25μmol L^-1 selenomethionine （Se-Met）, the S. Andrea seedlings＇ accumulation rate was significantly greater （P〈0.05） than that of Xiushui 48. Possibly, the high Se accumulation rate of Xiushui 48 seedling shoots compared to S. Andrea shoots was the result of a higher capacity of Xiushui 48 to transform selenite to organic Se compounds and a higher selenite uptake rate.

Performance Study of the MPC based on BPNN Prediction Model in Thermal Management System of Battery Electric Vehicles

In this paper,a model predictive control(MPC) based on back propagation neural network(BPNN)prediction model was proposed for compressor speed control of air conditioning system(ACS) and battery thermal management system(BTMS) coupling system of battery electric vehicle(BEV).In order to solve the problem of high cooling energy consumption and inferior thermal comfort in the cabin of the battery electric vehicle thermal management system(BEVTMS) during summer time,this paper combines the respective superiorities of artificial neural network(ANN) predictive modeling and MPC,and creatively combines the two methods and uses them in the control of ***,based on ANN and heat transfer theory,BPNN prediction model,ACS and BTMS coupling system were established and ***,a mathematical method of MPC was established to control the speed of the ***,the state parameters of the coupled system were predicted using a BPNN prediction model,and the predicted values were passed to the MPC,thus achieving accurate control of the compressor speed using the ***,the effects of PID control and MPC based on BPNN prediction model on thermal comfort of cabin and compressor energy consumption at different ambient temperatures were compared in simulation under New European Driving Cycle(NEDC) *** results showed for the constructed BPNN prediction model predicted and tested values of the selected parameters the mean squared error(MSE) ranged from 2.498% to 8.969%,mean absolute percentage error(MAPE) ranged from 4.197% to 8.986%,and mean absolute error(MAE) ranged from 3.202% to 8.476%.At ambient temperatures of 25℃,35℃ and 45℃,the MPC based on the BPNN prediction model reduced the cumulative discomfort time in the cabin by 100 s,39 s and 19 s,respectively,compared with the PID *** three NEDC conditions,the energy consumption is reduced by 1.82%,2.35% and 3.48%,*** the ambient temperature was 35℃,the MPC based on BPNN pre

Interface sites on vanadia-based catalysts are highly active for NO_(x) removal under realistic conditions

TiO_(2)-supported V_(2)O_(5)catalysts are commonly used in NO_(x)reduction with ammonia due to their robust catalytic *** these catalysts,it is generally considered that the active species are mainly derived from the vanadia species rather than the intrinsic structure of V-O-Ti entities,namely the interface *** reveal the role of V-O-Ti entities in NH_(3)-SCR,herein,we prepared TiO_(2)/V_(2)O_(5)catalysts and demonstrated that V-O-Ti entities were more active for NO_(x)reduction under wet conditions than the V sites(V=O)working *** the V-O-Ti entities,kinetic measurements and first principles calculations revealed that NH_(3)activation exhibited a much lower energy barrier than that on V=O *** wet conditions,the V-O-Ti interface significantly inhibited the transformation of V=O to V-OH sites thus benefiting NH_(3)*** wet conditions,meanwhile,the migration of NH_(4)^(+)from Ti site neighboring the V-O-Ti interface to Ti site of the V-O-Ti interface was exothermic;thus,V-O-Ti entities together with neighboring Ti sites could serve as channels linking NH_(3)pool and active centers for activation of NH_(4)^(+).This finding reveals that the V-O-Ti interface sites on V-based catalysts play a crucial role in NO_(x)removal under realistic conditions,providing a new perspective on NH_(3)-SCR mechanism.

Mechanical signal capture without physical contact has emerged as a highly promising research field and attracted tremendous attention due to its prosperous applications in household medical care,lifestyle monitoring and remote operation,offering users high level of safety,convenience and ***,noncontact sensing is ideal to maximize the immersive user experience in the human–machine interaction(HMI),eliminating interference to human activities and mechanical fatigue to the sensor,***,we report a self-powered flexible sensor integrated with irradiation cross-linked polypropylene(IXPP)piezoelectret film for noncontact sensing,featuring multi-functions to detect mechanical signals transmitted through solid,liquid and gaseous media and would facilitate their versatile practical *** folded-structure configuration of the sensor facilitates the improvement of the noncontact sensing *** solid media,such as the rectangular wooden stick used in this study,the sensor can detect mechanical stimulus exerted at a distance of 100 cm.A system detection sensitivity up to 57 pC/kPa with a low detection limit of 0.6 kPa is achieved at a noncontact distance of 10 *** when partly or completely immersed in water,the sensor effectively traces movement signals of human bodies underwater,demonstrating great advantages for non-inductive aquatic fitness training ***,due to the low acoustic impedance of piezoelectret film,speech recognition through gaseous medium is also *** further introduce application demonstrations of the developed film sensors to monitor exercise postures and physiological signals without direct contact between human body and the sensor,displaying great potential to be incorporated into future smart *** study commendably expands the application scope of piezoelectret materials,which will have profound implications for exploring novel intelligent human–machine interactions.
