BACKGROUND:Many Chinese herbs,especially herbal injections,have been shown to have anti-tumor effects in recent ***,since most reports focus on the clinical effectiveness of these herbs,their mechanisms of action are not well *** this study,we assessed apoptosis in the hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cell line HepG2 induced by an injectable extract from the seed of Coix lacryma-jobi (Semen coicis,SC),and monitored the expression of Bcl-2 and ***:Injectable SC was applied to HepG2 cells at different concentrations and the cells were collected 12,24 and 48 hours later.5-fluorouracil was used as a positive control group,and fluorescence-activated cell-sorting cytometry was used to measure the apoptosis rate of HepG2 cells and the expression of Bcl-2 and caspase-8 ***:SC induced apoptosis in HepG2 cells in a concentration and time-dependent manner,and the expression of caspase-8 was elevated and ***,it did not significantly influence the expression of ***:Injectable SC may induce apoptosis in HCC cells by regulating the expression of caspase-8.

Correlative ionospheric disturbances in the sunlit hemisphere during the flare on July 14,2000

Using GPS data obtained from GPS sites located on the sunlit hemisphere during the flare on July 14, 2000, the ionospheric response to the flare was analyzed. A kind of tiny correlative ionospheric fluctuations were revealed from the temporal total electron content (TEC) curves derived from GPS measurements, and the values of this kind of disturbances are about 1015 m-2. A comparative analysis of these disturbances and soft X-ray flux detected at GOES satellite during the flare is done. It is found that this kind of disturbances revealed in the temporal TEC curves did occur in a very large area of sunlit ionosphere and its behavior is mainly controlled by the characteristics of the flare’s extra radiation. Because the similar fluctuations are not found in the curve of soft X-ray flux, it is concluded that the flare extra radiation in EUV band should have corresponding fluctuations and it is the fluctuations that cause the TEC disturbances. Comparative study of spectral properties of temperature and CO2 fluxes measured by eddy covariance method at Yucheng (36°57'N, 116°36'E, 28 m a.s.l., in the North china Plain) and at Lhasa (29°41'N, 91°20'E, 3688 m a.s. 1., on the Tibetan Plateau) is described using the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) method. The main results are: (1) The intrinsic oscillation modes or intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) were extracted from data of temperature ( T) and CO2 fluxes (F) measured at Yucheng ( T1 and F1) and Lhasa ( T2 and F2) . (2) Hilbert transform was applied to these IMF components, then the Hubert-Huang spectra and the marginal spectra of these data were obtained. (3) Comparison of temperature and CO2 fluxes in North china Plain and on Tibetan Plain illustrated that the characteristic frequencies corresponding to T1, F1, T2 and F2 are 0.05 Hz, 0.03 Hz, 0.014 Hz and 0.005 Hz, respectively.

Data-driven discovery of partial differential equations(PDEs)has recently made tremendous progress,and many canonical PDEs have been discovered successfully for proof of ***,determining the most proper PDE without prior references remains challenging in terms of practical *** this work,a physics-informed information criterion(PIC)is proposed to measure the parsimony and precision of the discovered PDE *** proposed PIC achieves satisfactory robustness to highly noisy and sparse data on 7 canonical PDEs from different physical scenes,which confirms its ability to handle difficult *** PIC is also employed to discover unrevealed macroscale governing equations from microscopic simulation data in an actual physical *** results show that the discovered macroscale PDE is precise and parsimonious and satisfies underlying symmetries,which facilitates understanding and simulation of the physical *** proposition of the PIC enables practical applications of PDE discovery in discovering unrevealed governing equations in broader physical scenes.

The deep crustal structure is closely related to oil and gas *** the oil and gas enrichment of depressions based on the Moho depth and crustal thickness is a promising research topic with significant implications for guiding exploration in petroliferous *** this study,seismic data were used as a constraint on the use of satellite gravity anomaly inversion to obtain the distribution of Moho depth and crustal thickness in the Bohai *** factors were calculated to analyze the differential distribution of deep crustal structural *** indicators,including the minimum Moho depth,minimum crustal thickness,sum of Moho stretching factors,and sum of crustal stretching factors,were *** component analysis was applied to reduce the dimensionality of the multi-indicator system and obtain an oil and gas enrichment score for quantitative prediction of favorable prolific *** deviation between the inverted Moho depth and seismic constraints was small;thus,the data effectively reflect the variations in the characteristics of each *** analysis revealed significant statistical features related to the minimum Moho depth/crustal thickness and the sum of Moho/crustal stretching factors associated with prolific *** on the oil and gas enrichment score,the depressions were classified into four categories related to their different deep crustal structural *** active ClassⅠ,ClassⅡ,and ClassⅢdepressions are predicted to be favorable prolific *** study expands the research on quantitatively predicting favorable prolific depressions in the Bohai Basin using the deep crustal structure and can contribute to reducing production costs and improving exploration efficiency in future explorations.
