Nano high-entropy oxide cathode with enhanced stability for direct borohydride fuel cells

High-entropy materials have become high-activity electrocatalysis owing to their high-entropy effect and multiple active ***,we synthesize a series of carbon-supported nano high-entropy oxides（HEOs/C）,specifically （PtFeCoNiCu）O/C,using a carbothermal shock （CTS） method for application as a cathode catalyst in direct borohydride fuel cells （DBFCs）.The microstructure of the prepared catalysts was characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,X-ray absorption fine structure,and transmission electron *** prepared （PtFeCoNiCu）O/C,with particle sizes ranging from 2 to 4 nm,demonstrates 3.94 transferred electrons towards the oxygen reduction reaction in an alkaline environment,resulting in a minimal H2O2yield of 2.6%.Additionally,it exhibits a Tafel slope of 61 mV dec-1,surpassing that of commercial Pt/C (82 mV dec-1).Furthermore,after 40,000 cycles of cyclic voltammetry（CV） testing,the half-wave potential of （PtFeCoNiCu）O/C shows a positive shift of 3 mV,with no notable decline in the limiting current *** （PtFeCoNiCu）O/C is used as a cathode catalyst in DBFCs,the DBFC achieves a maximum power density of 441 mW cm-2at 60°C and sustains a cell voltage of approximately 0.73 V after 52 h at 30°*** findings confirm that HEO/C is a promising cathode catalyst for DBFCs.

Parkinson’s disease is the second most common progressive neurodegenerative disorder,and few reliable biomarkers are available to track disease *** proteins,DNA,mRNA,and lipids carried by exosomes reflect intracellular changes,and thus can serve as biomarkers for a variety of *** this study,we investigated alterations in the protein content of plasma exosomes derived from patients with Parkinson’s disease and the potential therapeutic roles of these proteins in Parkinson’s *** a tandem mass tag-based quantitative proteomics approach,we characterized the proteomes of plasma exosomes derived from individual patients,identified exosomal protein signatures specific to patients with Parkinson’s disease,and identified N-acetyl-alpha-glucosaminidase as a differentially expressed protein.N-acetyl-alpha-glucosaminidase expression levels in exosomes from the plasma of patients and healthy controls were validated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and western *** results demonstrated that the exosomal N-acetyl-alpha-glucosaminidase concentration was not only lower in Parkinson’s disease,but also decreased with increasing Hoehn-Yahr stage,suggesting that N-acetyl-alpha-glucosaminidase could be used to rapidly evaluate Parkinson’s disease ***,western blot and immunohistochemistry analysis showed that N-acetyl-alpha-glucosaminidase levels were markedly reduced both in cells treated with 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium and cells overexpressingα-synuclein compared with control ***,N-acetyl-alpha-glucosaminidase overexpression significantly increased cell viability and inhibitedα-synuclein expression in 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium-treated *** together,our findings demonstrate for the first time that exosomal N-acetyl-alpha-glucosaminidase may serve as a biomarker for Parkinson’s disease diagnosis,and that N-acetyl-alpha-glucosaminidase may reduceα-synuclein expression and 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium-induced n

High-resolution non-emissive displays based on electrochromic tungsten oxides(WOx)are crucial for future near-eye virtual/augmented reality interactions,given their impressive attributes such as high environmental stability,ideal outdoor readability,and low energy ***,the limited intrinsic structure of inorganic materials has presented a significant challenge in achieving precise patterning/pixelation at the micron ***,we successfully developed the direct photolithography for WOx nanoparticles based on in situ photo-induced ligand *** strategy enabled us to achieve ultra-high resolution efficiently(line width3600 cycles),as well as promising applications in electronic logos,pixelated displays,flexible electronics,*** success and advancements presented here are expected to inspire and accelerate research and development(R&D)in high-resolution non-emissive displays and other ultra-fine micro-electronics.

Optical whispering-gallery-mode microcavities have attracted significant attention for their potential in ultrasensitive ultrasound sensing, despite always relying on expensive tunable lasers in applications. In this study, we integrated an electrothermal tuning function inside the microcavity, enabling fast scanning of modes by applying voltages, which helps provide real-time searching and tracking of the optimal mode. Our device demonstrated a quality factor exceeding 10～6with a broad tuning range over 33 GHz. This structure achieved high sensitivity in ultrasound detection, with a noise equivalent pressure（NEP） of 3.35 mPa/Hz1/2at 20 MHz. We further reported the advantages of the mode thermal broadening effect for ultrasound detection, with successfully obtaining high-contrast photoacoustic images. Our research introduces an innovative approach for cost-effective, high-stability ultrasound detection with microcavity, showing great value for application in photoacoustic imaging.

Paeoniae Radix Rubra (PRR) is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine known for promoting blood circulation and alleviating pain. Stir-frying PRR with rice wine enhances its effectiveness in improving blood flow and resolving stasis. To explore the pharmacodynamic basis and mechanisms behind PRR's anti-thrombotic effects—both pre- and post-stir-frying—a comprehensive approach combining pharmacological research， metabolomics， and chemistry was employed. Fraction inter-cross validation experiments， pharmacological assessments， and metabolomic analyses confirm the efficacy of the fraction separation process. Wine-stir-fried PRR (WPRR) shows superior blood activation compared to PRR. PRR mainly affects the TCA cycle and sphingolipid metabolism pathways through its small molecules， enhancing coagulation and fibrinolysis systems' functionality. All the subdivided components of WPRR have anti-thrombotic effects， especially polysaccharides and oligosaccharides. WPRR improves thrombotic conditions in rat blood stasis by modulating arachidonic acid metabolism， TCA cycle， lipid status enhancement， and angiogenesis stimulation while regulating platelet adhesion and aggregation. In conclusion， compared with PRR， the main material basis for the blood-activating efficacy of WPRR has transformed from small molecule compounds to polysaccharide and oligosaccharide components. The action pathways of WPRR in exerting anti-thrombotic efficacy have increased. The polysaccharide components in WPRR might possess considerable potential for being developed into natural anti-thrombotic drugs.

This paper demonstrated the generation of multi-wavelength bound state noise-like pulse (BNLP) in a dispersion-managed composite-filtered fiber laser consisting of nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) and *** the case of BNLP,the generation is caused by the interaction between two noise-like pulses (NLPs) induced by the comb-filtering effect,and bound state level can be artificially controlled in the *** work provides a new method for generating low-coherence pulses and establishes a research idea for the study of the comb-filtering effects.

Photoactive complexes of nonprecious transition metals, mainly including those in the first-row and partially the second-row of the Periodic table of elements, have received increasing attention in view of their low cost and long-term sustainability. They are recognized as promising alternatives to noble transition metal complex congeners that have been extensively studied in optoelectronic devices, artificial photosynthesis, photocatalysis, biodiagnostics, and therapeutics, etc. This review is devoted to a comprehensive summary on the classical and recent advances on photoactive nonprecious transition metal complexes, including photoactive Zr, V, Cr, Mo, and W complexes, Mn complexes and hybrids, Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu complexes, and Zn and Cd complexes and hybrids. A particular focus is given on the molecular design, modulation of photophysical and photochemical properties, and applications of the representative and lately-developed nonprecious metal complexes. In addition, a perspective on the future development in this field is provided at the end of this review.

The origin and evolution of sponges have attracted interest, not only because they are among the most basal metazoans, but also because they act as important ecological engineers in the ocean. Previous research suggested that sponge groups diversified quickly during the Cambrian Series 2, while Terreneuvian sponge fossils are conspicuously rare and poorly substantiated. Yet, an increasing number of sponge spicules have been reported from the Ediacaran-Cambrian(E-C, ca.551–523 Ma) transitional carbonates/cherts worldwide, particularly in South China, which calls for updated discussions. Ocean oxygenation has been widely proposed to play a critical role in organismal evolution, but its relationship with sponges is unclear and falls into a “chicken-egg” dilemma. In this study, we summarize reported sponge spicule distributions from five E-C sections in South China to investigate the early evolutionary pattern of siliceous sponges. According to current stratigraphic correlation,monaxons first appear in the late Ediacaran in the intrashelf basin-slope area, and then potentially expand to the continental shelf and deep basin in the lower Cambrian. In these sections, the abundance, size, and diversity of monaxons increase upwards,followed by the appearance of diaxons, triaxons and then polyactines. Despite the uncertain affinity of the sponge fossils, it is possible that siliceous hexactinellids evolved later than siliceous demosponges, given that the earliest spicule assemblages are exclusively composed of monaxons, which commonly form bundles comparable to modern demosponges. New geochemical data from the Sifangjing section, Guizhou Province and the Yanziqiao section, Hunan Province, South China show that the appearance of sponges usually corresponds to anoxic environment. In addition, we applied the recently proposed Biological Pump, Oxygen and Phosphorus(BPOP) model to trace the evolution of oceanic oxygen concentrations with the radiation of sponges. Auroral Kilometric Radiation (AKR) is a common radio emission,which can contribute to the magnetosphere-ionosphereatmosphere co u *** emissions have been observed in all magnetic planet magnetospheres of the solar *** this study,using observations from the FAST satellite from 30 August 1996 to 9 September 2001,the distribution of AKR in altitude=500-4500 km and invariant latitude (|ILAT|)=60°-80°has been analyzed.63045 AKR samples have been identified with~48%(52%) samples on the dayside (nightside).Of considerable interest,there is a distinct MLT asymmetry with the high occurrence rate in MLT=05-08 and 18-22(02-05 and 12-17) in the northern (southern) *** distinct MLT asymmetry is associated with the direction of Bxof the interplaneta ry magnetic *** addition,the occurrence rate on the nightside clearly increases as the AE^(*) index *** study further enriches the information and understanding of AKR in the magnetosphere as well as other similar radio emissions.
