Wetting-drying effect on the strength and microstructure of cementphosphogypsum stabilized soils

Phosphogypsum has often been used as an effective and environmentally friendly binder for partial replacement of cement,improving the engineering properties of slurries with high water ***,the influence of phosphogypsum on the physicomechnical properties of stabilized soil subjected to wettingedrying cycles is not well understood to *** this study,the effect of phosphogypsum on the durability of stabilized soil was studied by conducting a series of laboratory experiments,illustrating the changes in mass loss,pH value and unconfined compressive strength(qu)with wettingdrying *** test results showed that the presence of phosphogypsum significantly restrained the mass loss in the early stage(lower than the 4th cycle),which in turn led to a higher qu of stabilized soil than that without *** the 4th cycle,a sudden increase in mass loss was observed for stabilized soil with phosphogypsum,resulting in a significant drop in qu to a value lower than those without phosphogypsum at the 6th *** addition,the qu of stabilized soils correlated well with the measured soil pH irrespective of phosphogypsum content for all wettingedrying *** to the microstructure observation via scanning electron microscope(SEM)and X-ray diffraction(XRD)tests,the mechanisms relating the sudden loss of qu for the stabilized soils with phosphogypsum after the 4th wetting-drying cycle are summarized as follows:(i)the disappearance of ettringite weakening the cementation bonding effect,(ii)the generation of a larger extent of microcrack,and(iii)a lower pH value,in comparison with the stabilized soil without phosphogypsum.

In the tapping-mode atomic force microscope(TM-AFM),the probe tip continuously taps the sample surface,which may cause plastic deformation of the sample and result in energy *** energy dissipation of the probe is closely related to the scanned phase *** quantify the energy dissipation due to plastic indentations of the sample,this study utilized a combination of molecular dynamics(MD)simulations and experiments on single-crystal copper samples,including multiple nano-indentation *** energy dissipation of the probe due to the plastic deformation of the sample was calculated by integrating the hysteresis curve of the indentation depth versus the force applied to the *** simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental *** sets of results have demonstrated that the plastic energy dissipation decreases as the number of indentations increases,and eventually the energy of the probe tends to *** equilibrium energy dissipation is associated with other dissipation ***,it was observed that,after hundreds of taps,the dissipated energy of plastic deformation could be ignored,implying that the scanned image may not reflect the plasticity information of the sample after multiple taps of the probe on the sample surface for scanning.

The social transformation brought aboutby digital technology is deeply impacting various *** education products, with core technologiessuch as 5G, AI, IoT (Internet of Things),etc., are continuously penetrating areas such as teaching,management, and evaluation. Apps, miniprograms,and emerging large-scale models are providingexcellent knowledge performance and flexiblecross-media output. However, they also exposerisks such as content discrimination and algorithmcommercialization. This paper conducts anevidence-based analysis of digital education productrisks from four dimensions: “digital resourcesinformationdissemination-algorithm design-cognitiveassessment”. It breaks through corresponding identificationtechnologies and, relying on the diverse characteristicsof governance systems, explores governancestrategies for digital education products from the threedomains of “regulators-developers-users”.

Flapping Wing Micro Aerial Vehicles(FWMAVs)have caused great concern in various fields because of their high efficiency and *** wing motion is a very important factor that affects the performance of the aircraft,and previous works have always focused on the time-averaged performance ***,the time-history performance is equally important in the design of motion mechanism and flight control *** this paper,a time-history performance optimization framework based on deep learning and multi-island genetic algorithm is presented,which is designed in order to obtain the optimal two-dimensional flapping wing ***,the training dataset for deep learning neural network is constructed based on a validated computational fluid dynamics *** aerodynamic surrogate model for flapping wing is obtained after the convergence of *** surrogate model is tested and proved to be able to accurately and quickly predict the time-history curves of lift,thrust and ***,the optimization framework is used to optimize the flapping wing motion in two specific cases,in which the optimized propulsive efficiencies have been improved by over 40%compared with the ***,a dimensionless parameter C_(variation)is proposed to describe the variation of the time-history characteristics,and it is found that C_(variation)of lift varies significantly even under close time-averaged *** the importance of time-history performance in practical applications,the optimization that integrates the propulsion efficiency as well as C_(variation)is carried *** final optimal flapping wing motion balances good time-averaged and time-history performance.

Hot gas ingestion refers to the phenomenon of mainstream hot gas flowing into the space cavity of a turbine *** studies have found that mainstream annulus pressure distribution plays an important role in hot gas ingestion,but due to its complexity,the mechanism of the interaction between mainstream flow and hot gas ingestion remains *** paper adopts the URANS method,and three sealing flow rates are considered,named C_(w)=0,C_(w)=500,and C_(w)=*** time-averaged annulus pressure distribution shows that an increase in the sealing flow decreases the pressure value,and the effects of the sealing flow on the pressure distribution of the leading edge of the blade are much more influential than that of the trailing edge of the *** unsteady pressure time-space distribution in the annulus indicates that a time-space tilted distribution of pressure at the rim exits when the sealing flow *** phenomenon is mainly due to the strong feedback mechanism of the sealing flow to the annulus pressure field.A comparison of the pressure and mean radial velocity distribution of the mainstream shows that the ingestion mainly occurs on the blade side,where the pressure is lower than on the vane *** flow characteristics at the wheel rim are analyzed with a sealing flow rate C_(w)=5000,and under these conditions,both pressure-induced ingestion and ingestion caused by a passage vortex can be *** three-dimensional and inertial effects of the mainstream at the wheel rim lead to the generation of separation vortices on the blade side,and the presence of separation vortices leads to ingestion along the blade *** the same time,pressure on the blade side will cause the fluid to have a radial inward flow tendency,which will promote the formation of separation vortices,leading to more serious ingestion in the high-pressure region on the blade *** blade pressure field can be more significant than the vane trailing pressure field in the rim sea

Accurate prediction of Shock-Wave/Boundary Layer Interaction(SWBLI)flows has been a persistent challenge for linear eddy viscosity models.A major limitation lies in the isotropic representation of the Reynolds stress,as assumed under the Boussinesq *** studies have shown promise in improving the prediction capability for incompressible separation flows by perturbing the Reynolds-stress anisotropy ***,it remains uncertain whether this approach is effective for SWBLI flows,which involve compressibility and *** address this issue,this study systematically quantifies the structural uncertainty of the anisotropy for oblique SWBLI *** eigenspace perturbation method is applied to perturb the anisotropy tensor predicted by the Menter Shear–Stress Transport(SST)model and reveal the impacts of anisotropy on the prediction of quantities of interest,such as separation and reattachment positions,wall static pressure,skin friction,and heat *** results demonstrate the potential and reveal the challenges of eigenspace perturbation in improving the SST ***,a detailed analysis of turbulent characteristics is performed to identify the source of *** findings indicate that eigenspace perturbation primarily affects turbulent shear stress,while the prediction error of the SST model is more related to turbulent kinetic energy.

Capacitor Voltage Imbalance Mechanism and Balancing Control of MMC When Riding Through PTG Fault

Modular multilevel converter (MMC) based fault ride through (FRT) control is a promising solution to deal with the pole-to-ground (PTG) fault in high voltage direct current (HVDC) system. However, when MMC switches to the FRT control, capacitor voltage imbalance between upper and lower arms will occur, resulting in the deterioration of FRT performance. This letter provides a comprehensive analysis for the imbalance issue from the perspective of fundamental frequency circulating current (FFCC). It is found the imbalance during FRT stage will not expand continuously, but converge to a certain value gradually. The specific imbalance degree is closely associated with the amplitude of FFCC. In order to solve the imbalance issue, an open-loop balancing control is proposed. By introducing a fundamental frequency feedforward item to the inherent circulating current control, the proposed method can not only balance the capacitor voltages, but also minimize the amplitude of FFCC, and consequently the power loss of MMC during FRT process can be reduced. Finally, simulation results of PSCAD/ EMTDC verify the validity of theoretical analysis.

Low-Rank Optimal Transport for Robust Domain Adaptation

When encountering the distribution shift between the source(training) and target(test) domains, domain adaptation attempts to adjust the classifiers to be capable of dealing with different domains. Previous domain adaptation research has achieved a lot of success both in theory and practice under the assumption that all the examples in the source domain are welllabeled and of high quality. However, the methods consistently lose robustness in noisy settings where data from the source domain have corrupted labels or features which is common in reality. Therefore, robust domain adaptation has been introduced to deal with such problems. In this paper, we attempt to solve two interrelated problems with robust domain adaptation:distribution shift across domains and sample noises of the source domain. To disentangle these challenges, an optimal transport approach with low-rank constraints is applied to guide the domain adaptation model training process to avoid noisy information influence. For the domain shift problem, the optimal transport mechanism can learn the joint data representations between the source and target domains using a measurement of discrepancy and preserve the discriminative information. The rank constraint on the transport matrix can help recover the corrupted subspace structures and eliminate the noise to some extent when dealing with corrupted source data. The solution to this relaxed and regularized optimal transport framework is a convex optimization problem that can be solved using the Augmented Lagrange Multiplier method, whose convergence can be mathematically proved. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated through extensive experiments on both synthetic and real-world datasets.
