Lipase and photodecarboxylase coexpression: A potential strategy for alkane-based biodiesel production from natural triglycerides

Alkane-based biodiesel is considered the next generation of biodiesel owing to its potential environmental benefits and the fact that it exhibits much higher specific caloric values than traditional ***,the formidable obstacle impeding the commercialization of this cutting-edge fuel alternative lies in the cost associated with its *** this study,an engineered strain Escherichia coli(***)showcasing harmonized coexpression of a lipase(from Thermomyces lanuginosus lipase,TLL)and a fatty acid photodecarboxylase(from Chlorella variabilis,CvFAP)was first constructed to transform triglycerides into *** potential of *** BL21(DE3)/pRSFDuet-1-TLL-CvFAP for alkane synthesis was evaluated with tripalmitin as a model substrate under various process *** a comprehensive examination of the reaction parameters,the scope of the biotransformation was expanded to‘real’substrates(vegetable oils).The results showed that bioderived oils can be transformed into alkanes with high yields(0.80-10.20 mmol·L^(-1))under mild conditions(35℃,pH 8.0,and 36 h)and blue light *** selected processes were performed on an increased lab scale(up to 100 ml)with up to 24.77 mmol·L^(-1) tripalmitin,leading to a yield of 18.89 mmol·L^(-1) *** the employment of a method for efficiently producing alkanes under mild conditions and a simple procedure to isolate alkanes from the reaction system,the utilization of sustainable biomass as a fundamental feedstock emerges as the primary solution to lower the cost of alkane-based ***,this study proposes a readily implementable and highly effective approach for alkane-based biodiesel production.

Evolution of MnO–SiO2–Al_(2)O_(3)–MgO inclusions during heat treatment at 1100℃

To investigate the evolutionary behavior of the MnO–SiO_(2)–Al_(2)O_(3)–MgO inclusions during heat treatment,water quenched samples were isothermally held at 1100°C for 120 min in Ar and air atmosphere,and the obtaining samples were analyzed by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive *** showed that 3MnO·Al_(2)O_(3)·3SiO_(2)and MnO·SiO_(2)were detected in the 5 wt.%MgO system after isothermal holding in Ar atmosphere,while MgO·Al_(2)O_(3),MnO·SiO_(2)and Mn7O8·SiO4 were detected in air *** evolutionary behavior of the 10,15 and 20 wt.%MgO systems after isothermal holding in different atmosphere were *** affected the solid phase transformation of the low MgO content *** calculation results of FactSage 8.1 showed that MgO·Al_(2)O_(3)was formed in the 5 wt.%MgO system with air *** solid phase transformation was accompanied by grain coarsening during the isothermal holding *** differences in the solid phase transformation in different atmosphere of the 5 wt.%MgO system indicated that it was a gas-phase transport grain coarsening *** enrichment of Al element in the liquid phase region at the grain edges,the homogeneous distribution of Mg element and the disappearance of the liquid phase within the crystal revealed that other MgO content systems were liquid–solid transport grain coarsening mechanism.

Synthesis and electrochemical performance of LiMnpo_4 /C composites cathode materials

LiMnpo_4 /C composites were synthesized via solid-state reaction with different carbon sources: sucrose, citric acid and oxalic acid. The sam- ples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electrochemical performance test. The results of XRD reveal that carbon coating has no effect on the phase of LiMnpo_4 . The LiMnpo_4 /C synthesized at 600 °C with citric acid as carbon source shows an initial discharge capacity of 117.8 mA·hg^-1 at 0.05 C rate. After 30 cycles, the capacity remains 98.2 mAh·g^-1 . The improved electrochemical properties of LiMnpo_4 /C is attributed to the decomposition of organic acid during the sintering process.

Robust edge-preserving surface mesh polycube deformation

polycube construction and deformation are essential problems in computer graphics. In this paper, we present a robust, simple, efficient,and automatic algorithm to deform the meshes of arbitrary shapes into polycube form. We derive a clear relationship between a mesh and its corresponding polycube shape. Our algorithm is edge-preserving, and works on surface meshes with or without *** algorithm outperforms previous ones with respect to speed, robustness, and efficiency. Our method is simple to implement. To demonstrate the robustness and effectivity of our method, we have applied it to hundreds of models of varying complexity and topology. We demonstrate that our method compares favorably to other state-of-the-art polycube deformation methods.

Prostate cancer risk and aggressiveness associated with the CYPIB1 4326C/G （Leu432Val） polymorphism： a meta-analysis of 2788 cases and 2968 controls

To derive a precise estimation of the associations between the cytochrome P450 1B 1 （CYPIB1） 4326C/G variants and prostate cancer （PCa） risk or aggressiveness, a meta-analysis was performed using all eligible published studies. Odds ratios （ORs） with 95% confidence intervals （CIs） were estimated to assess the association in seven literature studies with 2788 cases and 2968 controls. In the overall analysis, no significant association was found between the CYPIB1 4326C/G polymorphism and PCa risk, but ethnicity subgroup analyses and a case-source analysis revealed significant associations. The 4326G allele showed a significant association with increased PCa risk in Asians （OR= 1.52, 95% Ch 1.20-1.92）, and significant associations were also observed in a heterozygote comparison （OR= 1.40, 95% Ch 1.03-1.89）, a homozygote comparison （0R=2.38, 95% Ch 1.31-4.33） and in a dominant genetic model （OR = 1.52, 95% Ch 1.14-2.01）. Moreover, the 4326G allele was also significantly correlated with an increased risk of sporadic PCa （OR= 1.13, 95% Ch 1.04-1.24）, and significant associations were observed in a heterozygote comparison （OR= 1.16, 95% Ch 1.02-1.33）, a homozygote comparison （OR= 1.24, 95% Ch 1.03-1.49） and a dominant genetic model （OR= 1.19, 95% Ch 1.05- 1.34）. The overall analyses and all subgroup analyses showed no significant association between the 4326C/G polymorphism and PCa aggressiveness. Our meta-analysis showed that CYPIB1 4326G allele is significantly associated with an increased PCa risk in Asians and in sporadic PCa cases.

Pd-based nanoporous metals for enzyme-free electrochemical glucose sensors

Nanoporous metals （NPMs） show potential applications as enzyme-free glucose sensors. There are few reports on nanoporous Pd in this area even though their cost is much lower than other NPMs. In this work, we report the formation of Pd-based NPM with improved catalytic activity towards the oxidation of glucose. By dealloying metallic glasses, Pd-based NPMs with hi-continuous networks were obtained. All the Pd-based NPMs show high electrochemical catalytic activity towards glucose oxidation. In this study, NPM with an open, three-dimensional, ligament-channel nanoporous structure resulted by dealloying metallic Pd3oCu4oNiloP2o, producing a pore size of 11 nm and a ligament size of 7 nm as the best configuration towards the direct oxidation reaction of glucose.

Diversifying Top-κRoutes with Spatial Constraints

Trip recommendation has become increasingly popular with the rapid growth of check-in data in location-based social *** existing studies focused only on the popularity of *** this paper,we consider further the usability of trip recommendation results through spatial *** thereby formulate a new type of queries named spatial diversified top-κroutes(SDκR)*** type of queries finds k trip routes with the highest popularity,each of which starts at a given starting point,consumes travel time within a given time budget,and passes through points of interest(poIs)of given *** two trip routes returned are diversified to a certain degree defined by the spatial distance between the two *** show that the SDkR problem is *** propose two precise algorithms to solve the *** first algorithm starts with identifying all candidate routes that satisfy the query constraints,and then searches for theκ-route combination with the highest *** second algorithm identifies the candidate routes and builds up the optimalκ-route combination progressively at the same ***,we propose an approximate algorithm to obtain even higher query efficiency with precision *** demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed algorithms on real *** experimental results show that our algorithms find popular routes with diversified poI *** approximate algorithm saves up to 90%of query time compared with the baseline algorithms.
