The present study aimed to evaluate multi-element concentrations(Al,As,Ca,Cd,Co,Cr,Cu,Fe,Mg,Mn,Mo,Ni,pb,Sr)in suspended particulate material(SpM)collected from Ensenada de La paz(ELp)lagoon,Baja California Sur,Mexico in two different periods(September and May)to comprehend their origin,geochemical behavior,mass transfer and associated ecotoxicological *** 24 hr variation coefficient of volumetric SpM levels were found to be 51.7%in September and 40.5%in May,signifying the effects of oceanic *** calculated enrichment factor(EF)values for all the studied elements were of higher magnitude because of the high surface area and oxide nature of SpM,and in this study,Mo had the highest EF of 46.77 probably due to its origin from continental *** the ecotoxicological perspective,the integrated toxic risk index revealed low toxic risk to the benthic ***,the mean-ERM-Quotient calculated using the particulate concentrations of As,Cd,Cr,Cu,Ni,pb indicated 9%probability of toxicity to *** comprehensive geochemical and ecotoxicological assessment of particulate metal concentrations in the ELp lagoon signify low to moderate contamination.

Nowadays,magnesium alloys are emerging in biomedical implants for their similar properties to natural ***,the rapid degradation of magnesium alloys in biological media hinders successful *** of microstructure,as well as reinforcement particles can significantly improve the degradation *** this work,multi-pass friction stir processing(FSp)was proposed to synthesize WE43/nano-hydroxyapatite(n HA)surface composite,the microstructure,reinforced particle distribution,micro-hardness,corrosion behavior and in-vitro bioactivity were *** subsequent FSp passes of WE43 alloy and WE43/n HA composite refined the grain size which was reduced by 94.29%and 95.92%(2.63 and 1.88μm,respectively)compared to base metal after three *** resulted in increasing the microhardness by 120%(90.86 HV0.1)and 135%(105.59 HV0.1)for the WE43 and WE43-n HA,*** is found that increasing FSp passes improved the uniform distribution of n HA particles within the composite matrix which led to improved corrosion resistance and less degradation *** corrosion rate of the FSped WE43/n HA composite after three passes was reduced by 38.2%(4.13 mm/year)and the degradation rate was reduced by 69.7%(2.87 mm/y).This is attributed to secondary phase(Mg24y5and Mg41Nd5)particle fragmentation and redistribution,as well as a homogeneous distribution of n ***,the growing Ca-p and Mg(OH)2layer formed on the surface represented a protective layer that reduced the degradation *** wettability test revealed a relatively hydrophilic surface with water contact angle of 49.1±2.2°compared to 71.2±2.1°for base ***,biomineralization test showed that apatite layer grew after immersion 7d in simulated body fluid with atomic ratio of Ca/p 1.60 approaching the stoichiometric ratio(1.67)indicating superior bioactivity of FSped WE43/n HA composite after three *** results raise that the grain refinement by FSp and introduction of n HA partic

Compressive property and energy absorption characteristic of interconnected porous Mg-zn-y alloys with adjusting y addition

in this study,interconnected porous Mg-2zn-xy alloys with different phase compositions were prepared by various y additions(x=0.4,3,and 6 wt.%)to adjust the compressive properties and energy absorption *** characterization methods were then applied to identify the microstructure of the porous Mg-zn-y and describe the details of the second *** tests were performed at room temperature(RT),200℃,and 300℃to study the impact of the y addition and testing temperature on the compressive properties of the porous *** experimental results showed that a high y content promotes a microstructure refinement and increases the volume fraction of the second *** the y content increases,different Mg-zn-y ternary phases appear:i-phase(Mg_(3)zn_(6)y),W-phase(Mg_(3)zn_(3)y_(2)),and LpSO phase(Mg_(12)zny).When the y content ranges between 0.4%and 6%,the compressive strength increases from 6.30Mpa to 9.23 Mpa,and the energy absorption capacity increases from 7.33 MJ/m^(3)to 10.97 MJ/m^(3)at RT,which is mainly attributed to the phase composition and volume fraction of the second ***,the average energy absorption efficiency is independent of the y *** addition,the compressive deformation behaviors of the porous Mg-zn-y are altered by the testing *** compressive strength and energy absorption capacity of the porous Mg-zn-y decrease due to the softening effect of the high temperature on the *** deformation behaviors at different temperatures are finally observed to reflect the failure mechanisms of the struts.

in this study,we conducted a search for dark matter using a part of the data recorded by the CMS experiment during run-i of the LHC in 2012 with a center of mass energy of 8 TeV and an integrated luminosity of 11.6 fb−*** data were gathered from the CMS open *** matter,in the framework of the simplified model(mono-z′),can be produced from proton-proton collisions in association with a new hypothetical gauge boson,z′.Thus,the search was conducted in the dimuon plus large missing transverse momentum *** benchmark scenario of mono-z′,which is known as light vector,was used for interpreting the CMS open *** evidence of dark matter was observed,and exclusion limits were set on the masses of dark matter and z′at 95%confidence level.

The full array of the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory(LHAASO)has been in operation since July *** its kilometer-square array(KM2A),we optimized the selection criteria for very high and ultrahigh energyγ-rays using data collected from August 2021 to August 2022,resulting in an improvement in significance of the detection in the Crab Nebula of approximately 15%,compared with that of previous *** the implementation of these new selection criteria,the angular resolution was also significantly improved by approximately 10%at tens of *** aspects of the full KM2A array performance,such as the pointing error,were also calibrated using the Crab *** resulting energy spectrum of the Crab Nebula in the energy range of 10-1000 TeV are well fitted by a log-parabola model,which is consistent with the previous results from LHAASO and other experiments.

Numerical performance assessment of double-shell targets for z-pinch dynamic hohlraum

A z-pinch dynamic hohlraum can create the high-temperature radiation field required by indirect-drive inertial confinement fusion.A dynamic hohlraum with peak radiation temperature over 300 eV can be obtained with a>50 MA z-pinch driver according to the scaling law of dynamic hohlraum radiation temperature vs drive *** on a uniform 300 eV radiation temperature profile with a width of 10 ns,three double-shell capsules with radii of 2,2.5,and 3 mm are proposed,and the corresponding fusion yields from a one-dimensional calculation are 28.8,56.1,and 101.6 *** implosion dynamics of the 2.5 mm-radius capsule is investigated in *** ignition,the areal density of the fuel is about 0.53 g/cm^(2),the fuel pressure is about 80 Gbar,and the central ion temperature is about 4.5 keV,according to the one-dimensional simulation.A two-dimensional simulation indicates that the double-shell capsule can implode nearly spherically when driven by the radiation field of a z-pinch dynamic *** sensitivities of the fusion performance to the radiation temperature profiles and to deviations in the capsule parameter are investigated through one-dimensional simulation,and it is found that the capsule fusion yields are rather stable in a quite large parameter space.A one-dimensional simulation of a capsule embedded in 50 mg/cm^(3)CH foam indicates that the capsule performance does not change greatly in the mimicked environment of a z-pinch dynamic *** double-shell capsules designed here are also applicable to laser indirect-drive inertial fusion,if a laser facility can produce a uniform 300 eV radiation field and sustain it for about 10 ns.

化石有机碳风化是地质时间尺度上重要的碳源,对全球碳循环和气候变化具有重要影响,但如何量化一直是个挑战.河水铼(Re)含量的变化被认为具有示踪流域化石有机碳风化强度的潜力,然而Re的来源及其与化石有机碳风化之间的关系还知之甚少.为了更好地认识这一指标的有效性,本文选择重庆市城口县下寒武统水井沱组页岩风化剖面为研究对象,通过元素含量、逐级提取实验等分析,探讨页岩风化序列中Re和硒(Se)的活动性及其与化石有机碳风化的关系.结果表明,化学蚀变指数(CiA)从基岩到风化层逐步升高,指示增强的风化强度.根据逐级提取实验和质量迁移系数(τ)的变化发现,页岩中的Re和Se主要赋存于有机质相,风化过程中与化石有机碳同步流失,而与页岩中的硫化物矿物氧化无明显相关;风化过程中Re和Se不同的地球化学行为导致其与化石有机碳非等量流失.本研究支持Re作为示踪化石有机碳风化的指标,而Se是示踪化石有机碳风化的潜在指标.未来需要不同类型沉积岩剖面与流域相结合的研究,明确河水Re和Se的来源及其与流域化石有机碳风化之间的关系.

Mycorrhizal fungi mitigate nitrogen losses of an experimental grassland by facilitating plant uptake and soil microbial immobilization

Nitrogen(N)is one of the most limited nutrients of terrestrial ecosystems,whose losses are prevented in tightly coupled cycles in finely tuned *** change-induced N enrichment through atmospheric deposition and application of vast amounts of fertilizer are now challenging the terrestrial N *** mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)are known drivers of plant-soil nutrient fluxes,but a comprehensive assessment of AMF involvement in N cycling under global change is still ***,we simulated N enrichment by fertilization(low/high)in experimental grassland microcosms under greenhouse conditions in the presence or absence of AMF and continuously monitored different N pathways over nine *** found that high N enrichment by fertilization decreased the relative abundance of legumes and the plant species dominating the plant community changed from grasses to forbs in the presence of AMF,based on aboveground *** presence of AMF always maintained plant N:phosphorus(p)ratios between 14 and 16,no matter how the soil N availability *** in plant N:p ratios due to the increased plant N and p uptake might thus be a primary pathway of AMF altering plant community ***,we constructed a comprehensive picture of AMF’s role in N cycling,highlighting that AMF reduced N losses primarily by mitigating N leaching,while N_(2)O emissions played a marginal *** mycorrhizal fungi reduced N_(2)O emissions directly through the promotion of N_(2)O-consuming *** underlying mechanism for reducing N leaching is mainly the AMF-mediated improved nutrient uptake and AMF-associated microbial *** results indicate that synergies between AMF and other soil microorganisms cannot be ignored in N cycling and that the integral role of AMF in N cycling terrestrial ecosystems can buffer the upcoming global changes.

Endophytic Occupation in Nodules of Rhynchosia plants from Semiarid Regions of Argentina

Beneﬁcial microbes can improve soil health by promoting soil structure,nutrient cycling,and disease *** addition,a wide array of rhizospheric microbes are responsible for producing metabolically active compounds including various types of plant growth ***,microbial biodiversity studies could contribute to the improvement of agricultural practices in deprived areas,such as the pampean semiarid *** vast majority of studies conducted on endophytic microorganisms have focused on intensive crop legume *** contrast,little attention has been paid to microorganisms of native legumes,whose ecology is not directly affected by human *** this study,endophytic microorganisms isolated from root nodules of a selected native legume of the genus Rhynchosia were *** isolates were studied with a focus on their plant growth-pro-moting rhizobacteria(pGpR)*** the edaphic characteristics of the pampean semiarid region,the isolates obtained were evaluated for their ability to grow under three salt stress conditions(50,100,and 200 mM NaCl)and four different pH values(6,7,8,and 9).Based on their pGpR activities,the selected strains were phylogenetically grouped using *** results showed great variability among the isolates in terms of the characteristics *** legumes manifested a wide endophytic variability and remarkable perfor-mance in pGpR *** conclude that they could be used as potential bioinoculants for legume cultivation,an excellent alternative to the use of chemical fertilizers that currently pollute the environment.
