The Lobster Eye Imager for Astronomy(LEIA),a pathfinder of the Wide-field X-ray Telescope of the Einstein Probe mission,was successfully launched onboard the SATech-01 satellite of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on2022 July *** this paper,we introduce the design and on-ground test results of the LEIA *** stateof-the-art Micro-Pore Optics(MPO),a wide field of view of 346 square degrees(18.6°×18.6°)of the X-ray imager is *** optical assembly composed of 36 MPO chips is used to focus incident X-ray photons,and four large-format complementary metal-oxide semiconductor(CMOS)sensors,each of size 6 cm×6 cm,are used as the focal plane *** instrument has an angular resolution of 4’-8’(in terms of FWHM)for the central focal spot of the point-spread function,and an effective area of 2-3 cm^(2) at 1 keV in essentially all the directions within the field of *** detection passband is 0.5-4 keV in soft X-rays and the sensitivity is2-3×10^(-11) erg s^(-1) cm^(-2)(about 1 milliCrab)with a 1000 s *** total weight of LEIA is 56 kg and the power is 85 *** satellite,with a design lifetime of 2 yr,operates in a Sun-synchronous orbit of 500 km with an orbital period of 95 *** is paving the way for future missions by verifying in flight the technologies of both novel focusing imaging optics and CMOS sensors for X-ray observation,and by optimizing the working setups of the instrumental *** addition,LEIA is able to carry out scientific observations to find new transients and to monitor known sources in the soft X-ray band,albeit with limited useful observing time available.

Viscosity and structure relationship with equimolar substitution of CaO with MgO in the CaO–MgO–Al_(2)O_(3)–SiO_(2)slag melts

Currently,the Al_(2)O_(3)content in the high-alumina slag systems within blast furnaces is generally limited to 16wt%–18.5wt%,making it challenging to overcome this *** most studies that concentrated on managing the MgO/Al_(2)O_(3)ratio or basicity,this paper explored the effect of equimolar substitution of MgO for CaO on the viscosity and structure of a high-alumina CaO-MgO-Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)slag system,providing theoretical guidance and data to facilitate the application of high-alumina *** results revealed that the viscosity first decreased and then increased with higher MgO substitution,reaching a minimum at 15mol%MgO *** transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)results found that the depths of the troughs representing[SiO_(4)]tetrahedra,[AlO_(4)]tetrahedra,and Si-O-Al bending became progressively deeper with increased MgO *** of the Raman spectra showed that the average number of bridging oxygens per Si atom and the X_(q^(3))/X_(q^(2))(X_(q^(i))is the molar fraction of q^(i) unit,and i is the number of bridging oxygens in a[SiO_(4)]tetrahedral unit)ratio increased from 2.30 and 1.02 to 2.52 and 2.14,respectively,indicating a progressive polymerization of the silicate structure.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)results highlighted that non-bridging oxygen content decreased from 77.97mol% to 63.41mol% with increasing MgO concentration,whereas bridging oxygen and free oxygen contents *** analysis demonstrated a gradual increase in the polymerization degree of the tetrahedral structure with the increase in MgO ***,bond strength is another important factor affecting the slag *** occurrence of a viscosity minimum can be attributed to the complex evolution of bond strengths of non-bridging oxygens generated during depolymerization of the[SiO_(4)]and[AlO_(4)]tetrahedral structures by CaO and MgO.

Stress Corrosion Cracking of X80 Pipeline Steel in Near-Neutral pH Environment under Constant Load Tests with and without Preload

Constant load tests in NS4 solution purged with N2-5%CO2 gas mixture were conducted on American Petroleum Institute （API） X80 pipeline steel applied in the 2nd West-East （;as Pipeline project with and without preload. The results show that cracks could initiate and propagate in X80 pipeline steel in near-neutral pH environment under a constant load condition. The life of crack initiation and propagation increased with decreasing applied stress. Preload did not change its corrosion behavior obviously. However, preload reduced the time for crack initiation.

Embedding laser-generated CdTe nanocrystals into ultrathin znIn_(2)S_(4) nanosheets with sulfur vacancies for boosted photocatalytic H_(2) evolution

To suppress the inner charge recombination and inject vast electrons,CdTe nanocrystals are embedded into ultrathin znIn_(2)S_(4) nanosheets to construct znIn_(2)S_(4)/CdTe heterostructures,where the nanocrystals are generated by a laser irradiation *** optimal znIn_(2)S_(4)/CdTe heterojunction exhibits an excellent catalytic activity of 24.3 mmol/h/g,which is relatively high among the znIn_(2)S_(4)-based photocatalysts with-out noble *** enhancement is ascribed to a win-win mechanism of nanoscale heterojunctions and sulfur *** strong electron coupling effect,which is verified by density functional the-ory(DFT)calculations,impels the photo-generated electrons transfer from CdTe to znIn_(2)S_(4),boosting the charge ***,the sulfur vacancies existing in znIn_(2)S_(4) can capture photoelectrons and act as active sites,facilitating the H_(2) generation *** addition,the znIn_(2)S_(4) base and the znIn_(2)S_(4)/CdTe heterojunction also possess an evident photothermal effect and renewable cycle phenomena,enhancing the photocatalytic *** research provides new insights into the regulation of charge transfer through embedding nanocrystals.

Precipitation of multi-type nano-quasicrystals in a Mg-zn-Y alloy

Mg-6zn-1Y(at.%)ribbons with strengthening precipitates of multi-type nanoquasicrystals were prepared by melt-spinning followed by aging *** evolution of the rapidly solidified ribbons during isothermal aging was comprehensively studied using various electron microscopy *** new kinds of decagonal quasicrystals were formed in aged ribbons,in addition to precipitation of nanometer icosahedral ***-resolution observations reveal that both decagonal quasicrystals can be modeled by quasiperiodic tiling with decagonal clusters of 2.5 nm in diameter,but overlap of neighboring clusters in both decagonal quasicrystals is different from the Gummelt model observed in other quasicrystals.A shell composed of complex Laves Mg-zn domains was formed surrounding each decagonal quasicrystal precipitate upon prolonged *** addition,all kinds of nanoprecipitates exhibit excellent structure and size stability at 573 *** findings may have implications for not only fundamental studies about quasicrystals,but also microstructural manipulation of high-performance Mg alloys.

The effect of Co and Cr substitutions for Ni on mechanical properties and plastic deformation mechanism of FeMnCoCrNi high entropy alloys

The elastic constants,ideal tensile strength(ITS),stacking fault energy(SFE),lattice constant and magnetic moment of FeMnCoCrNi high entropy alloys with varying Co and Cr contents at 0 and 300 K were systematically investigated by first-principle *** the alloys with Co substitution for Ni,at both temperatures the elastic stability of the face-centered cubic(fcc)phase,bulk elastic modulus(B),Young’s modulus(E),shear modulus(G)and ITS increase monotonically with increasing Co ***,the Cauchy pressure(Cp),Pugh ratio(B/G),Poisson ratio(v),zener anisotropy ratio(Az)and elastic anisotropy ratio(AVR)decrease *** SFE also decreases with the increase of Co,resulting in the change of plastic deformation mechanism from dislocation slip to mechanical twinning,and then to hcp-martensitic *** elucidates the underlying mechanism of the effect of Co addition on the strength and micromechanical behavior of FeMnCoCrNi *** with Co,the Cr substitution for Ni leads to the more complex change of elastic constants and *** increase of Cr shows the similar effect on SFE and deformation mechanism as that of *** variation of valence electron concentration and magnetism affect the *** increase of either Co or Cr leads to the reduced magnetic moments of Fe and *** could be responsible for the monotonic decrease of both lattice constant and SFE as the Co content ***,for the Cr addition case,multiple factors may affect the evolution of lattice constant and *** findings shed light on the deformation mechanism of the alloys with different compositions.

Decreased levels of phosphorylated synuclein in plasma are correlated with poststroke cognitive impairment

Poststro ke cognitive impairment is a major secondary effect of ischemic stroke in many patients;however,few options are available for the early diagnosis and treatment of this *** aims of this study were to(1)determine the specific relationship between hypoxic andα-synuclein during the occur of poststroke cognitive impairment and(2)assess whether the serum phosphorylatedα-synuclein level can be used as a biomarker for poststro ke cognitive *** found that the phosphorylatedα-synuclein level was significantly increased and showed pathological aggregation around the cerebral infa rct area in a mouse model of ischemic *** addition,neuronalα-synuclein phosphorylation and aggregation were observed in the brain tissue of mice subjected to chronic hypoxia,suggesting that hypoxia is the underlying cause ofα-synuclein-mediated pathology in the brains of mice with ischemic *** phosphorylatedα-synuclein levels in patients with ischemic stroke were significantly lower than those in healt hy subjects,and were positively correlated with cognition levels in patients with ischemic ***,a decrease in serum high-density lipoprotein levels in stroke patie nts was significantly correlated with a decrease in phosphorylatedα-synuclein *** ischemic stroke mice did not show significant cognitive impairment or disrupted lipid metabolism 14 days after injury,some of them exhibited decreased cognitive function and reduced phosphorylatedα-synuclein *** together,our results suggest that serum phosphorylatedα-synuclein is a potential biomarker for poststroke cognitive impairment.

Spawned by fast-paced progress in new materials and integrate circuit technology,the past two decades have witnessed tremendous development of humanoid robots for both scientific and commercial purposes,*** response and daily life *** the root of this trend are the increasing research interests and cooperation opportunities across different laboratories and *** application-driven requirements of high effectiveness and reliability of humanoid robots led intensive research and development in humanoid locomotion and control *** spite of the progress in the area,challenges such as unnatural locomotion control,inefficient multi-motion planning,and relatively slow disturbances recovery set further requirements for the next generation of humanoid ***,the purpose of this work is to review the current development of highly representative bipedal humanoid robots and discuss the potential to move the ideas and models forward from laboratory settings into the real *** this end,we also review the current clinical understanding of the walking and running dynamics to make the robot more human-like.
