Recently,significant efforts have been exerted to replace mineral oil with environmentally friendly oils due to safety and environmental ***,there is a need to clarify the physical mechanisms behind the ageing impact of these *** authors use advanced optical spectroscopy techniques in correlation with dielectric measurements to understand the ageing processes in environmentally friendly oils as well as mineral ***,different samples of environmentally friendly oils and mineral oil were utilised to investigate the ageing *** samples were subjected to different ageing periods using a thermal accelerated ageing ***,the severity of the produced byproducts due to the oil degradation is examined based on several measured properties representing macroscopic and microscopic *** macroscopic category was evaluated through dielectric properties,including breakdown voltage,dielectric permittivity,and dissipation *** microscopic category,on the other hand,was assessed using techniques such as ultraviolet-visible absorption spectroscopy and photoluminescence *** techniques enabled a deep understanding of the molecular-level changes occurring in the oil under ageing conditions,thereby getting new insights into oil ageing *** is worth mentioning that natural ester oil demonstrated the most favourable performance across various properties under ageing conditions.

Transport mechanism in chemically reactive hybrid nanofluid flow containing gyrotactic micro-organisms over a curved oscillatory surface

This paper examines the transport analysis, including both heat transfer and mass transfer, in hybrid nanofluid flow containing gyrotactic microorganisms towards a curved oscillatory surface. The influence of magnetic fields is also inspected in terms of their physical characteristics. To depict the phenomena of transport, modified versions of both Fick's and Fourier's laws are used. Additionally, the characteristics of both heterogeneous and homogeneous chemical reactions are also incorporated. Utilizing a curvilinear coordinate system, the flow problem is formulated as partial differential equations(PDEs)for momentum, concentration, microorganism field, and energy. An analytical solution to the obtained flow equations is achieved utilizing the homotopy analysis method(HAm).The effects of significant flow parameters on the pressure and microorganism fields, velocity, oscillation velocity, concentration, and temperature distributions are shown via graphs. Furthermore, the variations in skin friction, mass transfer rate, heat transfer rate, and local motile number due to different involved parameters are presented in tables and are analyzed in detail. Graphical results indicate that the curves of velocity and temperature fields are enhanced as the values of the solid volume fraction variables *** is also verified that the concentration rate field decreases as the values of the homogeneous reaction strength parameter and the radius of curvature parameter increase, and it increases with the schmidt number and the heterogeneous reaction strength *** outcomes show a favorable response of the motile number to advanced values of the Peclet number, the schmidt number, the microorganism difference parameter, and the bio-convective Lewis number.

Evaluating ultrasound signals of carbon steel fatigue testing using signal analysis approaches

The application of ultrasound techniques to monitor the condition of structures is becoming more prominent because these techniques can detect the early symptoms of defects such as cracks and other *** early detection of defects is of vital importance to avoid major failures with catastrophic *** assessment of an ultrasound technique was used to investigate fatigue damage *** tests were performed according to the AsTm E466-96 standard with the attachment of an ultrasound sensor to the test *** 1045 carbon steel was used due to its wide application in the automotive industry.A fatigue test was performed under constant loading stress at a sampling frequency of 8 *** sets of data acquisition systems were used to collect the fatigue strain signals and ultrasound *** of the signals were edited and analysed using a signal processing *** methods were used to evaluate the signals,the integrated Kurtosis-based algorithm for z-filter technique(I-kaz) and the short-time Fourier transform(sTFT).The fatigue damage behaviour was observed from the initial stage until the last stage of the fatigue *** results of the I-kaz coefficient and the sTFT spectrum were used to explain and describe the behaviour of the fatigue damage.I-kaz coefficients were ranged from 60 to 61 for strain signals and ranged from 5 to 76 for ultrasound signals.I-kaz values tend to be high at failure point due to high amplitude of respective *** spectrogram displays the colour intensity which represents the damage severity of the strain signals.I-kaz technique is found very useful and capable in assessing both stationary and non-stationary signals while sTFT technique is suitable only for non-stationary signals by displaying its spectrogram.

structural,electrical and optical characterization of InGaN layers grown by mOVPE

We present a study on n-type ternary InGaN layers grown by atmospheric pressure metalorganic vapour phase epitaxy （mOVPE） on GaN template/（0001） sapphire substrate. An investigation of the different growth conditions on n-type InxGa1-xN （x = 0.06 -- 0.135） alloys was done for a series of five samples. The structural, electrical and optical properties were characterized by high resolution x-ray diffraction （HRXRD）, Hall effect and photolumineseence （PL）. Experimental results showed that different growth conditions, namely substrate rotation （sR） and change of total H2 flow （THF）, strongly affect the properties of InGaN layers. This case can be clearly observed from the analytical results. When the sR speed decreased, the HRXRD scan peak of the samples shifted along a higher angle. Therefore, increasing the sR speed changed important structural properties of InGaN alloys such as peak broadening, values of strain, lattice parameters and defects including tilt, twist and dislocation density. From PL results it is observed that the growth conditions can be changed to control the emission wavelength and it is possible to shift the emission wavelength towards the green. Hall effect measurement has shown that the resistivity of the samples changes dramatically when THF changes.

Determination of volatile organic compounds in river water by solid phase extraction and gas chromatography

A simple, rapid, and reproducible method is described employing solid phase extraction(sPE) using dichloromethane followed by gas chromatography(GC) with flame ionization detection(FID) for determination of volatile organic compound(VOC) from the Buriganga River water of Bangladesh. The method was applied to detect the benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene and cumene(BTEXC) in the sample collected from the surface or 15 cm depth of water. Two hundred ml of n hexane pretreated and filtered water samples were applied directly to a C 18 sPE column. BTEXC were extracted with dichloromethane and average concentrations were obtained as 0 104 to 0 372 μg/ml. The highest concentration of benzene was found as 0 372 μg/ml with a relative standard deviation(RsD) of 6 2%, and cumene was not detected. Factors influencing sPE e.g., adsorbent types, sample load volume, eluting solvent, headspace and temperatures, were investigated. A cartridge containing a C 18 adsorbent and using dichloromethane gave better performance for extraction of BTEXC from water. Average recoveries exceeding 90% could be achieved for cumene at 4℃ with a 2 7% RsD.

Investigations into the Anti-Felting Properties of sputtered Wool Using Plasma Treatment

In this research the effects of mordant and plasma sputtering treatments on the crystallinity and morphological properties of wool fabrics were investigated. The felting behavior of the treated samples was also studied. We used madder as a natural dye and copper sulfate as a metal mordant. We also used copper as the electrode material in a DC magnetron plasma sputtering device. The anti-felting properties of the wool samples before and after dying was studied, and it was shown that the shrink resistance and anti-felting behavior of the wool had been significantly improved by the plasma sputtering treatment. In addition, the percentage of crystallinity and the size of the crystals were investigated using an X-ray diffractometer, and a scanning electron microscope was used for morphological analysis. The amount of copper particles on the surface of the mordanted and sputtered fabrics was studied using the energy dispersive X- ray （EDX） method, and the hydrophobic properties of the samples were examined using the water drop test. The results show that with plasma sputtering treatment, the hydrophobic properties of the surface of wool become super hydrophobic.
