Recent advances in electrochemical performance of mg-based electrochemical energy storage materials in supercapacitors:Enhancement and mechanism

The application of mg-based electrochemical energy storage materials in high performance supercapacitors is an essential step to promote the exploitation and utilization of magnesium resources in the field of energy ***,the inherent chemical properties of magnesium lead to poor cycling stability and electrochemical reactivity,which seriously limit the application of mg-based materials in ***,in this review,more than 70 research papers published in recent 10 years were collected and *** representative research works were selected,and the results of various regulative strategies to improve the electrochemical performance of mg-based materials were *** effects of various regulative strategies(such as constructing nanostructures,synthesizing composites,defect engineering,and binder-free synthesis,etc.)on the electrochemical performance and their mechanism are demonstrated using spinelstructured mgX_(2)O_(4) and layered structured mg-X-LDHs as *** addition,the application of magnesium oxide and magnesium hydroxide in electrode materials,mXene's solid spacers and hard templates are ***,the challenges and outlooks of mg-based electrochemical energy storage materials in high performance supercapacitors are also discussed.

It has been shown that noise emissions from HV overhead line conductors can be reduced under rain conditions by making their surfaces *** working environment makes ensuring the longevity of any treatment a major *** degradation of various superhydrophobic surfaces generated by applying a superhydrophobic coating and patterning microscale channels is assessed under an AC electric field(18 kV/cm)with continuous water *** examining the droplet distribution on the surfaces during the degradation and the surface roughness before and after degra-dation,the authors demonstrate that no water droplets were found on the microscale patterned surface,but droplets were formed on the coated surface after *** surface roughness reduction of the coated surface and microscale patterned surface was 29.8% and 11.3%,respectively,indicating that the microscale patterned surface has better durability than the superhydrophobic coating under the AC electric stress.

The extended kernel ridge regression(EKRR)method with odd-even effects was adopted to improve the description of the nuclear charge radius using five commonly used nuclear *** are:(i)the isospin-dependent A^(1∕3) formula,(ii)relativistic continuum Hartree-Bogoliubov(RCHB)theory,(iii)Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov(HFB)model HFB25,(iv)the Weizsacker-Skyrme(WS)model WS*,and(v)HFB25**** the last two models,the charge radii were calculated using a five-parameter formula with the nuclear shell corrections and deformations obtained from the WS and HFB25 models,*** each model,the resultant root-mean-square deviation for the 1014 nuclei with proton number z≥8 can be significantly reduced to 0.009-0.013 fm after considering the modification with the EKRR *** best among them was the RCHB model,with a root-mean-square deviation of 0.0092 *** extrapolation abilities of the KRR and EKRR methods for the neutron-rich region were examined,and it was found that after considering the odd-even effects,the extrapolation power was improved compared with that of the original KRR *** strong odd-even staggering of nuclear charge radii of Ca and Cu isotopes and the abrupt kinks across the neutron N=126 and 82 shell closures were also calculated and could be reproduced quite well by calculations using the EKRR method.

Due to the rapid advancement of technologies,there has been a significant increase in the discharge of industrial wastewater,and freshwater is becoming a scarce ***,research on solar evaporators is mainly focused on the efficient production of clean water,with less emphasis on the removal of residual pollutants remaining in the original *** this study,problems,including the difficult recovery of catalyst powder and the difficult removal of floating organic matter are solved by co-depositing low-surface-tension zirconia particles and bismuth tungstate onto the floating *** and melamine sponges were combined to solve the problem that traditional hydrogels lack mechanical *** excellent water-repellent effect can be seen from the contact angle between the liquid globule and canvas/felt,which is greater than 155°.The steam generation rate of the assembled evaporation system is 1.78 kg m^(-2)h^(-1),and its purification efficiency for methyl orange and rhodamine B exceeds 99%.This study presents a novel strategy for treating wastewater contaminated with organic dyes,aiming to solve problems including environmental damage,water pollution,and water scarcity.

With the merits of the high energy density of batteries and power density of supercapacitors,the aqueous zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors emerge as a promising candidate for applications where both rapid energy delivery and moderate energy storage are ***,the narrow electrochemical window of aqueous electrolytes induces severe side reactions on the zn metal anode and shortens its *** also limits the operation voltage and energy density of the zn-ion hybrid ***'water in salt'electrolytes can effectively broaden their electrochemical windows,but this is at the expense of high cost,low ionic conductivity,and narrow temperature compatibility,compromising the electrochemical performance of the zn-ion hybrid ***,designing a new electrolyte to balance these factors towards high-performance zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors is urgent and *** developed a dilute water/acetonitrile electrolyte(0.5 m zn(CF_(3)SO_(3))_(2)+1 m LiTFSI-H_(2)O/AN)for zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors,which simultaneously exhibited expanded electrochemical window,decent ionic conductivity,and broad temperature *** this electrolyte,the hydration shells and hydrogen bonds are significantly modulated by the acetonitrile and *** a result,a zn-ion hybrid supercapacitor with such an electrolyte demonstrates a high operating voltage up to 2.2 V and long lifespan beyond 120,000 cycles.

Heterointerface engineering of rhombic Rh nanosheets confined on mXene for efficient methanol oxidation

Although metallic rhodium(Rh)is regarded as a promising platinum-alternative anode catalyst of direct methanol fuel cell(DmFC),the conventional"particle-to-face"contact model between Rh and matrix largely limits the overall electrocatalytic performance due to their insufficient cooperative ***,we report a controllable and robust heterointerface engineering strategy for the bottom-up fabrication of rhombic Rh nanosheets in situ confined on Ti_3C_(2)T_x mXene nanolamellas(Rh NS/mXene)via a convenient stereoassembly *** unique design concept gives the resulting 2D/2D Rh NS/mXene heterostructure intriguing textural features,including large accessible surface areas,strong"face-toface"interfacial interactions,homogeneous Rh nanosheet distribution,ameliorative electronic structure,and high electronic *** a consequence,the as-prepared Rh NS/mXene nanoarchitectures exhibit exceptional electrocatalytic methanol oxidation properties in terms of a large electrochemically active surface area of 126.2 m~2 g_(Rh)~(-1),a high mass activity of 1056.9 mA mg_(Rh)-~1,and a long service life,which significantly outperform those of conventional particle-shaped Rh catalysts supported by carbon black,carbon nanotubes,reduced graphene oxide,and mXene matrixes as well as the commercial Pt nanoparticle/carbon black and Pd nanoparticle/carbon black catalysts with the same noble metal loading *** functional theory calculations further demonstrate that the direct electronic interaction at the well-contacted 2D/2D heterointerfaces effectively enhances the adsorption energy of Rh nanosheets and induces a left shift of the d-band center,thereby making the Rh NS/mXene configuration suffer less from CO *** work highlights the importance of rational heterointerface design in the construction of advanced noble metal/mXene electrocatalysts,which may provide new avenues for developing the next-generation DmFC devices.
