In order to obtain a glassy matrix during quenching, Be is often selected as a constituent of the compositions of Ti/zr-based bulk metallic glass composites（BMGCs）. The in situ formed β phase in Be-bearing BMGCs was reported to be Be-free. However, a thorough investigation of the distribution of Be in BMGCs is still missing to date. In this work, the distribution of Be in a Ti_（47.5）zr_（33）Cu_（5.8）Co_3Be_（12.5）（at.%） BMGC was studied by the secondary ion mass spectrometry（SIMS） and the electron energy loss spectroscopy（EELS）.It is found that Be almost totally dissolves in the glassy matrix, but a very weak intensity of Be in β phase is still detectable by SIMS, and the content of Be in β-Ti is estimated to be about 0.3 at.%. Based on the recently established two-phase quasi-equilibrium of BMGCs, the distinct solubility of Be in the glassy matrix and in β-Ti has been explained.

Heterostructured materials,defined as materials that contain multiple zones with dramatically different flow stresses,have the potential to push the envelope of the strength-ductility of metals and alloys beyond what can be obtained conventionally[1–3].A prominent example is the heterogeneous lamella Ti that is as strong as its ultrafine-grained Ti,while as ductile as the coarsegrained Ti[4].

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease（NAFLD） has emerged as a prominent global health concern associated with high risk of metabolic syndrome, and has impacted a substantial segment of the population. The disease spectrum ranges from simple fatty liver to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis（NASH）, which can progress to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma（HCC） and is increasingly becoming a prevalent indication for liver transplantation. The existing therapeutic options for NAFLD, NASH, and HCC are limited, underscoring the urgent need for innovative treatment strategies. Insights into gene expression, particularly RNA modifications such as N6methyladenosine（m6A）, hold promising avenues for interventions. These modifications play integral roles in RNA metabolism and cellular functions, encompassing the entire NAFLD-NASH-HCC progression. This review will encompass recent insights on diverse RNA modifications, including m6A, pseudouridine（Ψ）, N1-methyladenosine（m1A）, and 5-methylcytidine（m5C） across various RNA species. It will uncover their significance in crucial aspects such as steatosis, inflammation, fibrosis, and tumorigenesis. Furthermore, prospective research directions and therapeutic implications will be explored, advancing our comprehensive understanding of the intricate interconnected nature of these pathological conditions.

By using a set of 315 recombinant inbred lines (RILs) from the cross Lemont (japonica)×Teqing (indica) and a complete linkage map with 186 well distributed RFLP markers and 3 morphological markers, a major gene (Xa4) and 10 QTLs and 9 pairs of epistasis loci conferring horizontal resistance to three strains of \%Xanthomonas oryza\% pv \%oryza (Xoo)\% were mapped. The Teqing allele at Xa4 on chromosome 11 acts as a dominant resistant gene against pathogen race CR4 and CX08, but as an additive QTL with a significantly (47%) reduced effect \{against the\} virulent strain, CR6. The major gene Xa4 exhibited stronger degree of race specificity. Most QTLs showed consistent levels of resistance against all three \%Xoo\% strains. The results suggest that a high level durable resistance to \%Xoo\% may be achieved by cumulative effects of multiple QTL.

Understanding the anisotropic creep behaviors of shale under direct shearing is a challenging *** this context,we conducted shear-creep and steady-creep tests on shale with five bedding orientations (i.e.0°,30°,45°,60°,and 90°),under multiple levels of direct shearing for the first *** results show that the anisotropic creep of shale exhibits a significant stress-dependent *** a low shear stress,the creep compliance of shale increases linearly with the logarithm of time at all bedding orientations,and the increase depends on the bedding orientation and creep *** high shear stress conditions,the creep compliance of shale is minimal when the bedding orientation is 0°,and the steady-creep rate of shale increases significantly with increasing bedding orientations of 30°,45°,60°,and 90°.The stress-strain values corresponding to the inception of the accelerated creep stage show an increasing and then decreasing trend with the bedding orientation.A semilogarithmic model that could reflect the stress dependence of the steady-creep rate while considering the hardening and damage process is *** model minimizes the deviation of the calculated steady-state creep rate from the observed value and reveals the behavior of the bedding orientation's influence on the steady-creep *** applicability of the five classical empirical creep models is quantitatively *** shows that the logarithmic model can well explain the experimental creep strain and creep rate,and it can accurately predict long-term shear creep *** on an improved logarithmic model,the variations in creep parameters with shear stress and bedding orientations are *** abovementioned findings,a mathematical method for constructing an anisotropic shear creep model of shale is proposed,which can characterize the nonlinear dependence of the anisotropic shear creep behavior of shale on the bedding orientation.
