Anisotropic time-dependent behaviors of shale under direct shearing and associated empirical creep models

Understanding the anisotropic creep behaviors of shale under direct shearing is a challenging *** this context,we conducted shear-creep and steady-creep tests on shale with five bedding orientations (i.e.0°,3.°,45°,60°,and 90°),under multiple levels of direct shearing for the first *** results show that the anisotropic creep of shale exhibits a significant stress-dependent *** a low shear stress,the creep compliance of shale increases linearly with the logarithm of time at all bedding orientations,and the increase depends on the bedding orientation and creep *** high shear stress conditions,the creep compliance of shale is minimal when the bedding orientation is 0°,and the steady-creep rate of shale increases significantly with increasing bedding orientations of 3.°,45°,60°,and 90°.The stress-strain values corresponding to the inception of the accelerated creep stage show an increasing and then decreasing trend with the bedding orientation.A semilogarithmic model that could reflect the stress dependence of the steady-creep rate while considering the hardening and damage process is *** model minimizes the deviation of the calculated steady-state creep rate from the observed value and reveals the behavior of the bedding orientation's influence on the steady-creep *** applicability of the five classical empirical creep models is quantitatively *** shows that the logarithmic model can well explain the experimental creep strain and creep rate,and it can accurately predict long-term shear creep *** on an improved logarithmic model,the variations in creep parameters with shear stress and bedding orientations are *** abovementioned findings,a mathematical method for constructing an anisotropic shear creep model of shale is proposed,which can characterize the nonlinear dependence of the anisotropic shear creep behavior of shale on the bedding orientation.

An efficient method for computing excess free energy of liquid

We present a new theoretical method for efficient calculation of free energy of liquid. This interaction entropy method allows one to compute entropy and free energy of liquid from standard single step MD(molecular dynamics) simulation directly in liquid state without the need to perform MD simulations at many intermediate states as required in thermodynamic integration or free energy perturbation methods. In this new approach, one only needs to evaluate the interaction energy of a single(fixed) liquid molecule with the rest of liquid molecules as a function of time from a standard MD simulation of liquid and the fluctuation of distribution of this interaction energy is then used to calculate the interaction entropy of the liquid. Explicit theoretical derivation of this interaction entropy approach is provided and numerical calculations for the benchmark liquid water system were carried out using three different water models. Numerical analysis of the result was performed and comparison of the computational result with experimental data and other theoretical results were provided. Excellent agreement of calculated free energies with the experimental data using TIP4 P model is obtained for liquid water.

Graph Attention Residual Network Based Routing and Fault-Tolerant SchedulingMechanism for Data Flow in Power Communication Network

For permanent faults (PF) in the power communication network (PCN), such as link interruptions, the timesensitive networking (TSN) relied on by PCN, typically employs spatial redundancy fault-tolerance methods to keep service stability and reliability, which often limits TSN scheduling performance in fault-free ideal states. So this paper proposes a graph attention residual network-based routing and fault-tolerant scheduling mechanism (GRFS) for data flow in PCN, which specifically includes a communication system architecture for integrated terminals based on a cyclic queuing and forwarding (CQF) model and fault recovery method, which reduces the impact of faults by simplified scheduling configurations of CQF and fault-tolerance of prioritizing the rerouting of faulty time-sensitive (TS) flows; considering that PF leading to changes in network topology is more appropriately solved by doing routing and time slot injection decisions hop-by-hop, and that reasonable network load can reduce the damage caused by PF and reserve resources for the rerouting of faulty TS flows, an optimization model for joint routing and scheduling is constructed with scheduling success rate as the objective, and with traffic latency and network load as constraints; to catch changes in TSN topology and traffic load, a D3.N algorithm based on a multi-head graph attention residual network (MGAR) is designed to solve the problem model, where the MGAR based encoder reconstructs theTSNstatus into feature embedding vectors, and a dueling network decoder performs decoding tasks on the reconstructed feature embedding vectors. Simulation results show that GRFS outperforms heuristic fault-tolerance algorithms and other benchmark schemes by approximately 10%in routing and scheduling success rate in ideal states and 5% in rerouting and rescheduling success rate in fault states. © 2024 The Authors. Asymmetrical Fault Current Calculation Method and Influencing Factors Analysis of Droop-Controlled Inverters

Since the fault dynamic of droop-controlled inverter is different from synchronous generators (SGs), protection devices may become invalid, and the fault overcurrent may damage power electronic devices and threaten the safety of the microgrid. Therefore, it is imperative to conduct a comprehensive fault analysis of the inverter to guide the design of protection schemes. however, due to the complexity of droop control strategy, existing literatures have simplified asymmetric fault analysis of droop-controlled inverters to varying degrees. Therefore, accurate fault analysis of a droop-controlled inverter is needed. In this paper, by analyzing the control system, an accurate fault model is established. Based on this, a calculation method for instantaneous asymmetrical fault current is proposed. In addition, the current components and current characteristics are analyzed. It was determined that fault currents are affected by control loops, fault types, fault distance and nonlinear limiters. In particular, the influences of limiters on the fault model, fault current calculation and fault current characteristics were analyzed. Through detailed analysis, it was found that dynamics of the control loop cannot be ignored, the fault type and fault distance determine fault current level, and part of the limiters will totally change the fault current trend. Finally, calculation and experimental results verify the correctness of the proposed method.

In the era of internet proliferation, safeguarding digital media copyright and integrity, especially for images, is imperative. Digital watermarking stands out as a pivotal solution for image security. With the advent of deep learning, watermarking has seen significant advancements. Our review focuses on the innovative deep watermarking approaches that employ neural networks to identify robust embedding spaces, resilient to various attacks. These methods, characterized by a streamlined encoder-decoder architecture, have shown enhanced performance through the incorporation of novel training modules. This article offers an in-depth analysis of deep watermarking’s core technologies, current status, and prospective trajectories, evaluating recent scholarly contributions across diverse frameworks. It concludes with an overview of the technical hurdles and prospects, providing essential insights for ongoing and future research endeavors in digital image watermarking. © 2024 The Authors.
