The ultrasonic velocity （U）, has been measured for three a-amino acids, namely L-lysine monohydrochloride, L-arginine and L-histidine in solutions （1 mol/L aqueous） of sodium acetate （SA）, potassium acetate （PA） and calcium acetate （CA） at different temperatures （303.15, 308.15, 313.15, 318.15 and 323.15 K）. With the help of these results various ultrasonic derived parameters, viz. isentropic compressibility （Ks）, change in isentropic compressibility （△K5）, relative change in isentropic compressibility （△Kr）, specific acoustic impedance （z）, relative association （RA）, and apparent molal compressibility （Фks） have been estimated. The results have been interpreted in the light of intermolecular interactions between solute and solvent.

The paper presents a new z-source inverter with a low-stress reduction in the voltage of capacitors compared to the traditional z-source inverter with the same boost factor. The proposed structure reduces costs and weight by reducing voltage *** main difference between this inverter and the traditional z-source inverter lies in the arrangement of the components. In addition, the superiority of the proposed inverter over the L-z-source inverter is related to the use of two capacitors instead of two diodes, which increases the boost power factor and obviates the need for the snubber circuit. Furthermore, another advantage of the proposed inverter can be extended to n cases in cascade form and the proposed inverter is continues current. The analysis,derivation of boost factor, capacitor voltages, voltages gain,and switch stress of the proposed inverter topology are carried out and are compared with the similar *** advantages of the proposed structure are verified by simulation and implementation.

Background:Genetic and environmental factors are both responsible for the etiology of autism spectrum disorders(ASD).Although epidemiological studies have been conducted to clarify the association between restriction diets and ASD,the conclusion remains *** study was undertaken to investigate the effect of gluten free diet(GFD)on gastrointestinal symptoms and behavioral indices in children with ***:In this randomized clinical trial,80 children diagnosed with ASD by the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised(ADI-R)were assigned into GFD(n=40)and regular diet(RD)(n=40)groups for 6 *** the beginning and end of the intervention,the ROMEШquestionnaire for evaluating gastrointestinal symptoms and Gilliam Autism Rating Scale 2 questionnaire(GARS-2)for assessing psychometric properties were ***:Of the 80 children,53.9%had gastrointestinal *** the GFD group,the prevalence of gastrointestinal symptoms decreased significantly(P<0.05)after intake of GFD(40.57%vs.17.10%)but increased insignificantly in the RD group(42.45%vs.44.05%).GFD intervention resulted in a significant decrease in behavioral disorders(80.03±14.07 vs.75.82±15.37,P<0.05)but an insignificant increase in the RD group(79.92±15.49 vs.80.92±16.24).Conclusion:This study suggested that GFD may be effective in controlling gastrointestinal symptoms and ASD behaviors.

The electronic and optical properties of TiS2 are studied of density functional theory. A linearized and augmented by using an ab-initio calculation within the frame plane wave basis set with the generalized gradient approximation as proposed by Perdew et al. is used for the energy exchange-correlation determination. The results show a metallic character of TiS2, and the plots of total and partial densities of states of TiS2 show the metallic character of the bonds and a strong hybridization between the states d of Ti and p of S below the Fermi energy. The optical properties of the material such as real and imaginary parts of dielectric constant （ε（w） = ε1（w）＋ iε2（w））, refractive index n（w）, optical reflectivity R（w）, for E / /x and E / /z are performed for the energy range of 0-.14 eV.

The title compound was synthesized by the base catalyzed reaction of 5-（（quinolin- 8-yloxy）methyl）-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2（3H）-thione with methyl chloroacetate. The structure was supported by the spectroscopic data and unambiguously confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. It crystallizes from a methanol solution in the triclinic space group Pi with unit cell dimensions a = 7.4509（9）, b = 10.2389（12）, c = 12.2299（15）A, a = 74.771（2）, β = 77.956（2）, 7 = 69.263（2）°, V = 834.98（17） A3 and z = 2. In order to gain some valuable insights into the molecular structure, the quantum mechanical calculations were performed using both HF and time-dependent density functional theory at the B3LYP/6-31G（d,p） level. The molecular geometry from X-ray determination of the title compound in the ground state has been compared using the Hartree-Fock （HF） and density functional theory （DFT） with the 6-31G（d） basis set. The calculated results show that the DFT and HF can well reproduce the structure of the title compound. The energetic behavior of the title compound was examined using the B3LYP method with the 6-31G（d） basis set. The harmonic vibrational frequencies calculated have been compared with the experimental FTIR and FT-Raman spectra. The restricted Hartree-Fock and density functional theory-based nuclear magnetic resonance （NMR） calculation procedure was also performed, and it was used for assigning the 13C and 1H NMR chemical shifts of the title compound. Moreover, molecular electrostatic potential and thermodynamic parameters of the title compound were investigated by theoretical calculations.

A Building Classification System for Multi-hazard Risk Assessment

A uniform and comprehensive classification system, often referred to as taxonomy, is fundamental for the characterization of building portfolios for natural hazard risk assessment. A building taxonomy characterizes assets according to attributes that can influence the likelihood of damage due to the effects of natural *** the scope of the Global Earthquake Model(GEM)initiative, a building taxonomy(GEM Building Taxonomy V2.0) was developed with the goal of classifying buildings according to their seismic vulnerability. This taxonomy contained 13 building attributes, including the main material of construction, lateral load-resisting system, date of construction and number of stories. Since its release in2012, the taxonomy has been used by hundreds of experts working on exposure and risk modeling efforts. These applications allowed the identification of several limitations, which led to the improvement and expansion of this taxonomy into a new classification system compatible with multi-hazard risk assessment. This expanded taxonomy(named GED4ALL) includes more attributes and several details relevant for buildings exposed to natural hazards beyond earthquakes. GED4ALL has been applied in several international initiatives, enabling the identification of the most common building classes in the world, and facilitating compatibility between exposure models and databases of vulnerability and damage databases.

BACKGROUND: This study was done to compare the admission Full Outline of Unresponsiveness(FOUR) score and Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS) as predictors of outcome in children with impaired ***: In this observational study, children(5–12 years) with impaired consciousness of zure within last 1 hour were excluded. Primary outcomes: comparison of area under curve(AUC) of receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve for in-hospital mortality. Secondary outcomes: comparison of AUC of ROC curve for mortality and poor outcome on Pediatric Overall Performance Category Scale at 3 ***: Of the 63 children, 20 died during hospital stay. AUC for in-hospital mortality for GCS was 0.83(CI 0.7 to 0.9) and FOUR score was 0.8(CI 0.7 to 0.9) [difference between areas –0.0250(95%CI 0.0192 to 0.0692), z statistic 1.109, P=0.2674]. AUC for mortality at 3 months for GCS was 0.78(CI 0.67 to 0.90) and FOUR score was 0.74(CI 0.62 to 0.87)(P=0.1102) and AUC for poor functional outcome for GCS was 0.82(CI 0.72 to 0.93) and FOUR score was 0.79(CI 0.68 to 0.9)(P=0.2377), which were also comparable. Inter-rater reliability for GCS was 0.96 and for FOUR score ***: FOUR score was as good as GCS in prediction of in-hospital and 3-month mortality and functional outcome at 3 months. FOUR score had a good inter-rater reliability.

Optimization of moderator assembly for neutron flux measurement:experimental and theoretical approaches

A moderator of paraffin wax assembly has been demonstrated where its thickness can be optimized to thermalize fast neutrons. The assembly is used for measuring fast neutron flux of a neutron probe at different neutron energies, using BF03(U10and 200) and3He(U0.500)neutron detectors. The paraffin wax thickness was optimized at 6 cm for the neutron probe which contains an Am–Be neutron source. The experimental data are compared with Monte Carlo simulation results using MCNP5 version 1.4. Neutron flux comparison and neutron activation techniques are used for measuring neutron flux of the neutron probe to validate the optimum paraffin moderator thickness in the assembly. The neutron fluxes are measured at(1.17 ± 0.09) 9 105 and(1.19 ± 0.1) 9 105n/s, being in agreement with the simulated values. The moderator assembly can easily be utilized for essential requirements of neutron flux measurements.
