Backgr.und: In Sub-Sahar.n Afr.ca, pr.-eclampsia r.mains a major.health pr.blem contr.buting to high r.tes of mater.al mor.ality. Despite this condition having adver.e effects on mater.al and child health, its pr.valence and associated r.sk factor. ar. still significant, especially in developing countr.es including Ghana. This study aimed to assess the pr.valence and demogr.phic distr.butions associated with pr.-eclampsia among pr.gnant women at the Ho Teaching Hospital. Methods: A facility-based r.tr.spective study was conducted by r.viewing available data or.hospital r.cor.s of pr.gnant mother. admitted to the labor.and mater.ity war.s fr.m Januar. 2018 to December.2020. All pr.gnant women who wer. diagnosed with pr.-eclampsia within this per.od wer. included in the study. The data wer. collected using a str.ctur.d checklist. r.sults: 5609 data on pr.gnant women fr.m 2018 to 2020 wer. r.cor.ed. Out of the 5609 data r.cor.ed, 314 pr.-eclampsia cases wer. r.cor.ed giving an over.ll pr.valence of 5.6%. The year.y pr.valence for.2018, 2019, and 2020 wer. 4.6%, 5.6%, and 6.6%, r.spectively. The most r.cor.ed pr.-eclampsia cases wer. seen among women within the age gr.up of 18 - 24 year.. The data showed that 112 (35.7%) of the pr.gnant women who had pr.-eclampsia wer. nullipar.us. Pr.-eclampsia-associated mater.al and fetal complications wer.;pr.ter. deliver. 221 (70.4%), intr.uter.ne fetal death 62 (19.7%), eclampsia 9 (2.9%), HELLP syndr.me 5 (1.6%) and mater.al death 17 (5.4%). Associated factor. of pr.-eclampsia wer. par.ty, level of education, and occupation (p ≤ 0.05). Conclusion: The findings of this study showed a r.sing tr.nd in the incidence of pr.-eclampsia over.the year. at the Ho Teaching Hospital. Par.ty, level of education, and occupation wer. found to be associated with developing pr.-eclampsia.

This study investigated the calcar.ous nannofossil assemblages in detail fr.m the ear.y Miocene aged Lice For.ation outcr.pping in the Kahr.manmar.? basin. The biostr.tigr.phy of calcar.ous nannofossils was outlined and paleoenvir.nmental featur.s deter.ined. In 81 samples taken fr.m thr.e measur.d sections in the r.gion, 17 calcar.ous nannofossil genus and 48 nannofossil species wer. identified. These calcar.ous nannofossil genus and species identified the Lice For.ation as being in the CNM4 nannofossil bioz.ne. The abundance and diver.ity of ear.y Miocene calcar.ous nannofossil species var.ed in the measur.d sections, with the samples gener.lly moder.te-poor. apar. fr.m a few samples. The r.lative abundance of individuals of Cyclicar.olithus flor.danus, Coccolithus pelagicus, r.ticulofenestr. hagii and Sphenolithus mor.for.is species, with paleoecological impor.ance identified in the study r.gion, indicate that in ear.y Miocene times, the basin in which the Lice For.ation deposited was meso-eutr.phic with excess nutr.ent input, temper.te and gener.lly stable shallow mar.ne conditions.

Ag-In inter.etallic alloys wer. pr.duced by using vacuum ar. fur.ace. Differ.ntial Scanning Calor.metr.(DSC) and Ener.y Disper.ive X-r.y Spectr.metr.(EDX) wer. used to deter.ine the ther.al pr.per.ies and chemical composition of the phases r.spectively. Micr.har.ness values of Ag-In inter.etallics wer. calculated with Vicker. har.ness measur.ment method. Accor.ing to the exper.mental r.sults, Ag-34 wt%In inter.etallic system gener.ted the best r.sults of ener.y saving and stor.ge compar.d to other.inter.etallic systems. Also fr.m the micr.har.ness r.sults, it was obser.ed that inter.etallic alloys wer. har.er.than pur. silver.and Ag-26 wt%In system had the highest micr.har.ness value with 143.45 kg/mm^(2).

Polar.z.d electr.n beam pr.duction via laser.wakefield acceler.tion in pr.-polar.z.d plasma is investigated by par.iclein-cell *** evolution of the electr.n beam polar.z.tion is studied based on the Thomas±Bar.mann±Michel±Telegdi equation for.the tr.nsver.e and longitudinal self-injection,and the depolar.z.tion pr.cess is found to be influenced by the injection *** the case of tr.nsver.e self-injection,as found typically in the bubble r.gime,the spin pr.cession of the acceler.ted electr.ns is mainly influenced by the ***,in the case of longitudinal injection in the quasi-1D r.gime(for.example,*** et al.,***.110,135002(2013)),the dir.ction of electr.n spin oscillates in the laser.*** the electr.ns move ar.und the laser.axis,the net influence of the laser.field is near.y z.r. and the contr.bution of the wakefield can be ***,an ultr.-shor. electr.n beam with polar.z.tion of 99%can be obtained using longitudinal self-injection.

Backgr.und: Despite the advances in anesthetics and non-phar.acological techniques, the pr.valence of postoper.tive nausea and vomiting in all patients r.mains high. It is one of the most common distr.ssing symptoms that cause dissatisfaction among patients after.anesthesia and sur.er.. A sub-hypnotic dose of pr.pofol has been shown to r.duce mor.hine-induced postoper.tive nausea, vomiting, and pr.r.tus. This r.view ar.icle will pr.vide sufficient knowledge on the r.le of pr.pofol in minimiz.ng opioid-induced postoper.tive nausea, vomiting, and pr.r.tus by pr.viding detailed infor.ation on pr.pofol antiemetic and antipr.r.tic effects, as well as discussions based on empir.cally available data. Method: We conducted a nar.ative r.view of the liter.tur. published between 1990 and 2023 fr.m a r.nge of databases;PubMed, BioMed Centr.l, Biosis Pr.views, Natur., Inter.ational Phar.aceutical Abstr.cts, Spr.nger.Link, and Elsevier. Discussion and Conclusion: The liter.tur.s r.viewed in this study have demonstr.ted that pr.pofol may have diver.e ther.peutic effects including antiemetic and antipr.r.tic. The antiemetic effect of pr.pofol may be an effective ther.peutic appr.ach for.the pr.vention of postoper.tive nausea and vomiting. The liter.tur. also demonstr.ted that the use of pr.pofol for.sedation dur.ng sur.er. may as well amelior.tes opioids induced postoper.tive pr.r.tus, which may be beneficial to sur.ical patients. Also, it was demonstr.ted that pr.phylactic use of pr.pofol may be an effective way of pr.venting nausea and vomiting and pr.r.tus dur.ng opioid use.

Discover.ng causality fr.m multivar.ate time ser.es is an impor.ant but challenging *** existing methods focus on estimating the Gr.nger.causal str.ctur.s among multivar.ate time ser.es,while ignor.ng the pr.or.knowledge of these time ser.es, e.g., the gr.up of the time ser.es. Focusing on discover.ng the Gr.nger.causal str.ctur.s among gr.ups of time ser.es, we pr.pose a Gr.nger.causal r.pr.sentation lear.ing method to solve this pr.blem. Fir.t, we use the multiset canonical cor.elation analysis method to lear. the Gr.nger.causal r.pr.sentation of each gr.up of time ser.es. Then, we model the Gr.nger.causal r.lationships among the lear.ed Gr.nger.causal r.pr.sentations using a r.cur.ent neur.l networ. with tempor.l infor.ation. Finally, we for.ulate the above two stages into one unified optimiz.tion pr.blem, which is efficiently solved using the augmented Lagr.ngian method. We conduct extensive exper.ments on synthetic and r.al-wor.d datasets to validate the cor.ectness and effectiveness of the pr.posed method.
