Simple and versatile in situ thermo-sensitive hydrogel for rectal administration of Sz-A to alleviate inflammation and repair mucosal barrier in ulcerative colitis

Ulcerative colitis(UC)is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease characterized by persistent inflammation of the colon and disrupted intestinal *** mori(Sangzhi)alkaloids(Sz-A),derived from twigs of mulberry,were approved by the National Medical Products Administration in 2020 for treating type 2 diabetes *** evidence has confirmed that Sz-A also alleviates non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and ameliorates inflammation,indicating its potential to address inflammation in ***,the treatment of UC faces challenges due to low drug delivery efficiency and short retention *** overcome these challenges,an injectable and adherent in-situ thermo-sensitive hydrogel containing Sz-A was developed for rectal drug delivery,utilizing the thermo-sensitive polymers Poloxamer 407and *** thermo-sensitive hydrogel system was designed with a moderate gelation temperature of 32±0.5℃,a short gelation time of 64 s,a p H range of 7-10,high moisturizing capability exceeding 90%,and moderate mechanical strength of 4-5 *** a rat model with UC,the in situ thermo-sensitive hydrogel significantly extended the retention time at the colonic site and enabled sustained release after rectal *** of UC were markedly reduced following rectal administration of Sz-A thermosensitive ***,the release of inflammatory factors,such as interleukin-1β(IL-1β),IL-6,IL-18,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),and transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1),significantly decreased in the Sz-A thermo-sensitive hydrogel *** integrity of the colonic mucosal barrier was significantly enhanced following the application of Sz-A thermo-sensitive *** conclusion,rectal administration of Sz-A in situ thermo-sensitive hydrogel effectively alleviated UC symptoms,inhibited the secretion of inflammatory factors,and promoted the repair of the colonic mucosal *** approach holds promise as a potential treatment for UC.

moths,pheromone receptors(PRs)are crucial for intraspecific sexual communication between males and *** PRs are considered as an ideal model for studying the evolution of insect PRs,and a large number of PRs have been identified and functionally characterized in different moth *** PRs were initially thought to fall into a single monophyletic clade in the odorant receptor(OR)family,but recent studies have shown that ORs in another lineage also bind type-I sex pheromones,which indicates that type-I PRs have multiple independent origins in the *** this study,we investigated whether ORs of the pest moth Spodoptera frugiperda belonging to clades closely related to this novel PR lineage may also have the capacity to bind type-I pheromones and serve as male *** the 7 ORs tested,only 1(SfruOR23)exhibited a male-biased expression ***,in vitro functional characterization showed that SfruOR23 could bind several type-I sex pheromone compounds with z-9-tetradecenal(z9-14:Ald),a minor component found in female sex pheromone glands,as the optimal *** addition,SfruOR23 also showed weak responses to plant volatile organic ***,we characterized an *** PR positioned in a lineage closely related to the novel PR clade,indicating that the type-I PR lineage can be extended in moths.

An Asymmetric Galactic Stellar Disk Traced by OB-type Stars from LAMOST DR7

Using 9943 OB-type stars from LAMOST DR7 in the solar neighborhood,we fit the vertical stellar density profile with the model including a single exponential distribution at different positions(R,Φ).The distributions of the scale heights and scale length show that the young disk traced by the OB-type stars is not *** scale length decreases versus the azimuthal angleΦ,i.e.,from.■kpc withΦ=-3°to■kpc withΦ=9°.Meanwhile we find signal of non-symmetry in the distribution of the scale height of the north and south of the disk *** scale height in the north side shows signal of flaring of the disk,while that of the south disk stays almost constant around h_(s)=130 *** distribution of the displaceeent of the disk plane z_(0)also shows variance versus the azimuthal angleΦ,which displays significant differences with the warp model constrained by the Cepheid *** also test different values for the position of the Sun,and the distance between the Sun and the Galactic center affects the scale heights and the displacement of the disk significantly,but that does not change our conclusion that the disk is not axisymmetric.

On the Probability of Generating a Primitive Matrix

Given a k×n integer primitive matrix A(i.e.,a matrix can be extended to an n×n unimodular matrix over the integers)with the maximal absolute value of entries‖A‖bounded by an integer λ from above,the authors study the probability that the m×n matrix extended from A by appending other m-k row vectors of dimension n with entries chosen randomly and independently from the uniform distribution over{0,1,…,λ-1}is still *** authors present a complete and rigorous proof of a lower bound on the probability,which is at least a constant for fixed m in the range[k+1,n-4].As an application,the authors prove that there exists a fast Las Vegas algorithm that completes a k×n primitive matrix A to an n×n unimodular matrix within expected O(n^(ω)log‖A‖)bit operations,where O is big-O but without log factors,ω is the exponent on the arithmetic operations of matrix multiplication.

Two-dimensional(2D) materials are at the forefront of innovation, heralding a new era for nextgeneration electronics and optoelectronics. These materials are distinguished by their unique structural characteristics: they have no hanging bonds on their surface, exhibit weakened electrostatic shielding in the z-direction, and boast atomic thickness in their monolayers. These features have led to groundbreaking discoveries in electrical, optical, and magnetic properties, paving the way for advancements in low-power electronics, valleytronics, infrared detectors, and memory devices. Despite these promising developments,Si-based technologies continue to dominate the landscape of next-generation electronics and optoelectronics,as well as heterogeneous integration. In response to this ongoing evolution, the National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC) initiated a major program in 2021 dubbed “Si-compatible two-dimensional semiconductor materials and devices”. This study reviews the progress made under the NSFC Program,spotlighting its main achievements and outlining key future research directions. Additionally, it sheds light on the challenges that researchers in the 2D domain face, particularly in developing Si-compatible 2D technologies.

Crystalline white organic light-emitting diodes(C-WOLEDs)are promising candidates for lighting and display *** is urgently necessary,however,to develop energy-saving and high-efficiency C-WOLEDs that have stable and powerful emission to meet commercial ***,we report a crystalline host matrix(CHM)with embedded nanoaggregates(NA)structure for developing high-performance C-WOLEDs by employing a thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)material and orange phosphorescent dopants(Phos.-D).The CHM-TADFNA-D WOLED exhibit a remarkable EQE of 12.8%,which is the highest performance WOLEDs based on crystalline *** device has a quick formation of excitons and a well-designed energy transfer process,and possesses a fast ramping of luminance and current *** to recently reported high-performance WOLEDs based on amorphous material route,the C-WOLED achieves a low series-resistance Joule-heat loss ratio and an enhanced photon output,demonstrating its significant potential in developing the next-generation WOLEDs.

Interaction of yttrium barrier and calcium-rich phase on production and properties of WC precursor powders and alloys

In order to reduce or eliminate the adverse effects of calcium impurity,the interaction of Ca and rare earth y co-doping on the preparation of WC-Co cemented carbides was investigated.X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy were employed to analyze the phase compositions,particle sizes and morphologies of them,*** results show that the second type of"yttrium barrier effect"is observed and the adverse influence of Ca-rich phase on tungsten powder can be eliminated by *** flexural strength and fracture toughness of yG6-0.01%Ca+0.09%y alloy are 2199.5 MPa and 11.49 MPa·m^(1/2),showing improvement of 6.5% and 2.7% compared to yG6 alloy,*** evolutions of Ca-rich phase and y-rich phase at the every alloy preparation stage of WO_(3),W,WC and cemented carbides are ***,the strengthening mechanism of WC-Co cemented carbide with co-addition of Ca and y is proposed.
