Compressive property and energy absorption characteristic of interconnected porous Mg-zn-Y alloys with adjusting Y addition

In this study,interconnected porous Mg-2zn-xY alloys with different phase compositions were prepared by various Y additions(x=0.4,3,and 6 wt.%)to adjust the compressive properties and energy absorption *** characterization methods were then applied to identify the microstructure of the porous Mg-zn-Y and describe the details of the second *** tests were performed at room temperature(RT),200℃,and 300℃to study the impact of the Y addition and testing temperature on the compressive properties of the porous *** experimental results showed that a high Y content promotes a microstructure refinement and increases the volume fraction of the second *** the Y content increases,different Mg-zn-Y ternary phases appear:I-phase(Mg_(3)zn_(6)Y),W-phase(Mg_(3)zn_(3)Y_(2)),and LPSO phase(Mg_(12)znY).When the Y content ranges between 0.4%and 6%,the compressive strength increases from 6.30MPa to 9.23 MPa,and the energy absorption capacity increases from 7.33 Mj/m^(3)to 10.97 Mj/m^(3)at RT,which is mainly attributed to the phase composition and volume fraction of the second ***,the average energy absorption efficiency is independent of the Y *** addition,the compressive deformation behaviors of the porous Mg-zn-Y are altered by the testing *** compressive strength and energy absorption capacity of the porous Mg-zn-Y decrease due to the softening effect of the high temperature on the *** deformation behaviors at different temperatures are finally observed to reflect the failure mechanisms of the struts.

The insensitivity of semiconductors to visible and infrared light is a key constraint on the utilization of light energy in photocatalytic *** photocatalysts with full-spectrum absorption through surface engineering is an effective approach to fully harnessing light energy in semiconductor ***,a novel stable Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)MXene/CdS heterojunction catalyst is obtained by in-situ epitaxial growth of two-dimensional(2D)CdS nanosheets on 2D MXene interface via a solvothermal *** exceptional light absorption properties of MXene confer outstanding full-spectrum driven photocat-alytic hydrogen evolution capability upon the heterogeneous *** unique 2D/2D structure effectively mitigated the recombination of photogenerated carriers,enhancing the photocatalytic performance of the ***,the composite catalyst exhibits a significantly higher surface temperature of 80.4℃under visible light irradiation at an intensity of 0.1 W/cm^(2),which is 1.84 times higher than that of *** irradiation of visible and near infrared light,the composite catalyst with photothermal ef-fect demonstrates a remarkable hydrogen evolution rate of 65.4 mmol g^(-1)h^(-1),which is 7.2 times higher than that of CdS *** study introduces a novel approach for constructing full-spectrum absorption catalysts and expands the application of the photothermal effect in photocatalytic hydrogen evolution research.

Electronic systems with large stretchability have many applications.A precisely controlled buckling strategy to increase the stretchability has been demonstrated by combining lithographically patterned surface bonding chemistry and a buckling *** buckled geometry was assumed to have a sinusoidal form,which may result in errors to determine the strains in the film.A theoretical model is presented in this letter to study the mechanics of this type of thin film/substrate system by discarding the assumption of sinusoidal buckling *** is shown that the previous model overestimates the deflection and curvature in the thin *** results from the model agree well with finite element simulations and therefore provide design guidelines in many applications ranging from stretchable electronics to micro/nano scale surface patterning and precision metrology.

Understanding the anisotropic creep behaviors of shale under direct shearing is a challenging *** this context,we conducted shear-creep and steady-creep tests on shale with five bedding orientations (i.e.0°,30°,45°,60°,and 90°),under multiple levels of direct shearing for the first *** results show that the anisotropic creep of shale exhibits a significant stress-dependent *** a low shear stress,the creep compliance of shale increases linearly with the logarithm of time at all bedding orientations,and the increase depends on the bedding orientation and creep *** high shear stress conditions,the creep compliance of shale is minimal when the bedding orientation is 0°,and the steady-creep rate of shale increases significantly with increasing bedding orientations of 30°,45°,60°,and 90°.The stress-strain values corresponding to the inception of the accelerated creep stage show an increasing and then decreasing trend with the bedding orientation.A semilogarithmic model that could reflect the stress dependence of the steady-creep rate while considering the hardening and damage process is *** model minimizes the deviation of the calculated steady-state creep rate from the observed value and reveals the behavior of the bedding orientation's influence on the steady-creep *** applicability of the five classical empirical creep models is quantitatively *** shows that the logarithmic model can well explain the experimental creep strain and creep rate,and it can accurately predict long-term shear creep *** on an improved logarithmic model,the variations in creep parameters with shear stress and bedding orientations are *** abovementioned findings,a mathematical method for constructing an anisotropic shear creep model of shale is proposed,which can characterize the nonlinear dependence of the anisotropic shear creep behavior of shale on the bedding orientation.

Effect of Al_(2)O_(3)on the Mechanical Properties of(B_(4)C+Al_(2)O_(3))/Al Neutron Absorbing Materials

Polymer coating is progressively being used in fields of concrete curing and concrete surface *** there is rare study been performed to investigate the effects of polymer coating on the properties of surface layer *** effects of polymer coating on shrinkage,mechanical property,carbonation,capillary absorption and chloride ion diffusion of surface layer concrete were *** results show that polymer coating can obviously reduce shrinkage of surface layer mortar.A thicker polymer coating gets a greater shrinkage reducing ratio at early *** coating can improve the early age strength of surface layer mortar compared with the specimens cured under standard ***,the carbonation resistance of surface layer concrete,as well as the infiltration resistance of surface layer mortar can be improved by polymer *** results also demonstrate that the capillary absorption ratio of mortar coated with polymer can be reduced by 87% and 78% respectively when compared with dry and standard curing *** the same way,polymer coating has an improvement effect on chloride ion diffusion resistance of surface layer concrete.

B_(4)C/Al composites are widely utilized as neutron absorbing materials for the storage and transportation of spent nuclear *** order to improve the high-temperature mechanical properties of B_(4)C/Al composites,in-situ nano-Al_(2)O_(3)was introduced utilizing oxide on Al powder *** this study,the Al_(2)O_(3)content was adjusted by utilizing spheroid Al powder with varying diameters,thereby investigating the impact of Al_(2)O_(3)content on the tensile properties of(B_(4)C+Al_(2)O_(3))/Al *** was found that the pinning effect of Al_(2)O_(3)on the grain boundaries could hinder the recovery of dislocations and lead to dislocation accumulation at high *** the result,with the increase in Al_(2)O_(3)content and the decrease in grain size,the high-temperature strength of the composites increased *** finest Al powder used in this investigation had a diameter of 1.4μm,whereas the resultant composite exhibited a maximum strength of 251 MPa at room temperature and 133 MPa at 350℃,surpassing that of traditional B_(4)C/Al composites.

A portable system for measuring the torsional vibration of a turbogenerator was developed and *** speed signal–demodulating circuit of the system was designed on the basis of field programmable gate array technology,and a platform for torsional vibration analysis was established using virtual instrument *** torsional vibration components were directly extracted from the demodulated speed signals by a zero-phase *** torsional vibration characteristics were analyzed and the results were displayed in Lab *** and site test results showed that the system met the engineering measurement requirements.
