Three-dimensional porous bimetallic metal–organic framework/gelatin aerogels: A readily recyclable peroxymonosulfate activator for efficient and continuous organic dye removal

As promising catalysts for the degradation of organic pollutants,metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)often face limitations due to the particle agglomeration and challenging recovery in liquid-catalysis application,stemming from their powdery *** macroscopic structures from pulverous MOF is thus of great importance for broadening their practical *** this study,three-dimensional porous MOF aerogel catalysts were successfully fabricated for degrading organic dyes by activating peroxymonosulfate(PMS).MOF/gelatin aerogel(MOF/GA)catalysts were prepared by directly integrating bimetallic FeCo-bDC with gelatin solutions,followed by freeze-drying and low-temperature *** FeCo-bDC-0.15/GA/PMS system exhibited remarkable performance in degrading various organic dyes,eliminating 99.2%of rhodamine b within a mere 5 *** to the GA/PMS system,there was over a 300-fold increase in the reaction rate ***,high removal efficiency was maintained across varying conditions,including different solution pH,co-existing inorganic anions,and natural water *** trapping experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance analysis revealed that the degradation involved radical(SO_(4)^(-)·)and non-radical routes(^(1)O_(2)),of which ^(1)O_(2) was ***,even after a continuous 400-min reaction in a fixed-bed reactor at a liquid hourly space velocity of 27 h^(-1),the FeCo-bDC/GA composite sustained a degradation efficiency exceeding 98.7%.This work presents highly active MOF-gelatin aerogels for dye degradation and expands the potential for their large-scale,continuous treatment application in organic dye wastewater management.

New structure transistors for advanced technology node CMOS ICs

Over recent decades, advancements in complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor integrated circuits(ICs)have mainly relied on structural innovations in transistors. From planar transistors to the fin field-effect transistor(FinFET) and gate-all-around FET(GAAFET), more gate electrodes have been added to three-dimensional(3D) channels with enhanced control and carrier conductance to provide higher electrostatic integrity and higher operating currents within the same device footprint. beyond the 1-nm node, Moore's law scaling is no longer expected to be applicable to geometrical shrinkage. Vertical transistor stacking, e.g. in complementary FETs(CFET), 3D stack(3DS) FETs and vertical-channel transistors(VFET), for enhanced density and variable circuit or system design represents a revolutionary scaling approach for sustained IC development. Herein, innovative works on specific structures, key process breakthroughs, shrinking cell sizes and design methodologies for transistor structure research and development are reviewed. Perspectives on future innovations in advanced transistors with new channel materials and operating theories are also discussed.

Deep reinforcement learning based active surge control for aeroengine compressors

This study proposes an active surge control method based on deep reinforcement learning to ensure the stability of compressors when adhering to the pressure rise command across the wide operating range of an ***,the study establishes the compressor dynamic model with uncertainties,disturbances,and Close-Coupled Valve(CCV)actuator *** upon this foundation,a Partially Observable Markov Decision Process(POMDP)is defined to facilitate active surge *** address the issue of unobservability,a nonlinear state observer is designed using a finite-time high-order sliding ***,an Improved Soft Actor-Critic(ISAC)algorithm is developed,incorporating prioritized experience replay and adaptive temperature parameter techniques,to strike a balance between exploration and convergence during *** addition,reasonable observation variables,error-segmented reward functions,and random initialization of model parameters are employed to enhance the robustness and generalization ***,to assess the effectiveness of the proposed method,numerical simulations are conducted,and it is compared with the fuzzy adaptive backstepping method and Second-Order Sliding Mode Control(SOSMC)*** simulation results demonstrate that the deep reinforcement learning based controller outperforms other methods in both tracking accuracy and ***,the proposed active surge controller can effectively ensure stable operation of compressors in the high-pressure-ratio and high-efficiency region.

Structure characterization of the oxide film on FGH96 superalloy powders with various oxidation degrees

The structure of the oxide film on FGH96 alloy powders significantly influences the mechanical properties of *** this study,FGH96 alloy powders with various oxygen contents were investigated using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and atomic probe technology to elucidate the structure evolution of the oxide *** dispersive spectrometer analysis revealed the presence of two distinct components in the oxide film of the alloy powders:amorphous oxide layer covering the γ matrix and amorphous oxide particles above the *** alloying elements within the oxide layer showed a laminated distribution,with Ni,Co,Cr,and Al/Ti,which was attributed to the decreasing oxygen equilibrium pressure as oxygen diffused from the surface into the γ *** the other hand,Ti enrichment was observed in the oxide particles caused by the oxidation and decomposition of the carbide *** analysis of the oxide film with oxygen contents of 140,280,and 340 ppm showed similar element distributions,while the thickness of the oxide film varies approximately at 9,14,and 30 nm,*** findings provide valuable insights into the structural analysis of the oxide film on FGH96 alloy powders.

A Possible γ-Ray Pulsation from PSR J1740-5340b in the Globular Cluster NGC 6397

Recently, a new radio millisecond pulsar(MSP) J1740-5340b, hosted in the globular cluster(GC) NGC 6397,was reported with a 5.78 ms spin period in an eclipsing binary system with a 1.97 days orbital period. based on a modified radio ephemeris updated by tool tempo2, we analyze the ~15 yr γ-ray data obtained from the Large Area Telescope on board the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope and detect PSR J1740-5340b's γ-ray pulsation at a confidence level of ~4σ with a weighted H-test value of ~26. by performing a phase-resolved analysis, the γ-ray luminosity in on-pulse interval of PSR J1740-5340b is L_(γ)~ 3.8 × 10^(33) erg s^(-1) using NGC 6397's distance of 2.48 kpc. And γ-rays from the on-pulse part of PSR J1740-5340b contribute ~90% of the total observed γ-ray emissions from NGC 6397. No significant γ-ray pulsation of another MSP J1740-5340A in the GC is *** that the previous four cases of MSPs in GCs, more data in γ-ray, X-ray, and radio are encouraged to finally confirm the γ-ray emissions from MSP J1740-5340b, especially starving for a precise ephemeris.

Protective benefit of folded linear HDPE board sand fences along the Golmud-Korla Railway,China:Field observation and wind tunnel study

The Milan Gobi area of the Golmud-Korla Railway in northwest China is located in the lower dispersal area of the mountain pass and has strong winds with evident double wind direction *** study introduced a novel sand fence deployment technique,termed‘folded linear deployment',designed to position the sand fence orthogonally to the two predominant wind directions for optimal *** study used wind tunnel and field tests to evaluate the wind and sand flow characteristics,as well as the windproof and sandresistant performance of folded linear HDPE(Highdensity polyethylene)board sand *** results suggest that the airflow around the fence creates clear zoning *** deceleration area on the bSF(backwind side of the sand fence)is much larger than that on the DSF(downwind side of the sand fence).Thus,sand particles are primarily deposited on the *** different wind speeds,the airflow at 2 and 5 h on the DSF is not *** WSP(wind speed profile)presents a logarithmic *** airflow is disturbed at 1-20 h on the bSF,and the WSP gradually deviates from the logarithmic ***,as the airflow moves away from the fence,the WSP gradually approaches a logarithmic ***,the WPE(windproof efficiency)and SRE(sand-resistant efficiency)of the sand fence exceed 80%.In addition,the results of wind tunnel tests are compared with those of field *** overall dispersion is good,and the best dispersion is found at z/H=2.00,indicating good agreement between the two test *** study provides a scientific basis for the design of sand hazard control measures,similar to the railway project in the Gobi Gale area.
