The exploitation of systems using solar energy as a source of energy is not fluctuations free because of short passage of clouds on solar radiation. The amplitude, the persistence and the frequency of these fluctuations should be analyzed with appropriate tools, instead of focusing on their location over time. The analysis of these fluctuations should use the instantaneous clearness index whose distribution is given as a first approximation which is independent not only of the season but also of the site. It is important to evaluate the potential solar energy in a region. Indeed such evaluation helps the decision-makers in their reflections on agricultural or photovoltaic solar projects. Then this study was conducted for a predictive purpose. The method used in our work combines the classification method which is the hierarchical ascending classification and two partitioning methods, the principal component?analysis and the K-means method. The partitioning method enabled to?achieve a number of well-known situations (in advance) that are representative of the day. The study was based on the data of a climatic weather station in the district of Yamoussoukro located in the center region of Côte d’Ivoire during the 2017 year. Using the clearness index, the study allowed the classification of the solar radiation in the region. Thus, it showed that only 346 days of the 365 days in 2017 were classified (95%). We identified three clusters of days, the cloudy sky (29%), the partly cloudy sky?(32%) and the clear sky (39%). The statistical tests used for the characterization?of these clusters will be detailed in a future study.

The flow field and performance characteristics of the high-efficiency Stairmand cyclone have been computationally investigated at a wide range of Reynolds numbers Reout = 84 - 252876 by varying the cyclone diameter, inlet velocity, operating temperature and pressure using the LES simulations. The effects of these parameters on the dimensionless cyclone performance characteristics (Euler number, square root of Stokes number and slope of the transformed grade efficiency curve) and dimensionless lip flow and lip velocity have been revealed. Five critical Reynolds numbers which correspond to the transition between different regimes and sub-regimes have been determined. All three dimensionless cyclone performance characteristics and two lip flow characteristics are ruled by the Reynolds number. Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction: A Report about 64 Cases Followed at the Heart Institute of Abidjan

Objective: To describe the epidemiological and etiological features of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction in our context. Materials and Methods: This is a retrospective study that was carried out over a 12-monthperiod, from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2015, in the hospitalization department of the Heart Institute of Abidjan. It was about patients hospitalized for heart failure who had received a dose of nT-proBnP and who had had an electrocardiogram, and a Doppler echocardiography. Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFPEF) was defined from the symptoms and signs of heart failure, the level of nT-proBnP and from echocardiography data based on the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) > 50%, the dilatation of the left atrium. The diastolic dysfunction of the left ventricle was assessed by the ratio E/E’ > 13. We defined as heart failure with decreased ejection fraction (HFDEF) symptoms and signs of heart failure and left ventricular dysfunction LVEF 40%. A computer file was completed. It included epidemiological and etiological data. Results: The study involved sixty-four patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction out of 257 patients with heart failure that is a prevalence of 25%. The mean age was 57.3 ± 16 years. There was a male predominance that is 52% of cases. Congestive heart failure was predominant in 67%. nT-proBnP levels were 365 pg/ml on average. The average length of stay was 5.5 ± 3.1. Intra-hospital deaths were 4.6%. The etiologies are dominated by high blood pressure in 85.9%, followed by obesity in 28.1%, then by ischemic heart disease in 4.6%. There were no diabetic patients in this group. Conclusion: Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction is characterized in our regions by its occurrence in?young male subjects. Congestive heart failure prevailed. The dominant etiology was high blood pressure.

Irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) is one of the most commonly diagnosed gastrointestinal conditions. It represents a significant healthcare burden and remains a clinical challenge. Over the years IBS has been described from a variety of different perspectives; from a strict illness of the gastrointestinal tract(medical model) to a more complex multi-symptomatic disorder of the brain-gut axis(biopsychosocial/psychosomatic model). In this article we present aspects of the pathophysiology and the non-pharmacological treatment of IBS based on current knowledge. Effects of conditioned stress and/or traumatic influences on the emotional system(top-down) as well as effects on the intestine through stressors,infection,inflammation,food and dysbiosis(bottom-up) can affect braingut communication and result in dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system(AnS),playing an important role in the pathophysiology of IBS. Conditioned stress together with dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system and the emotional system may involve reactions in which the distress inside the body is not recognized due to low body awareness. This may explain why patients have difficulty identifying their symptoms despite dysfunction in muscle tension,movement patterns,and posture and biochemical functions in addition to gastrointestinal symptoms. IBS shares many features with other idiopathic conditions,such as fibromyalgia,chronic fatigue syndrome and somatoform disorders. The key to effective treatment is a thorough examination,including a gastroenterological examination to exclude other diseases along with an assessment of body awareness by a body-mind therapist. The literature suggests that early interdisciplinary diagnostic cooperation between gastroenterologists and body-mind therapists is necessary. Re-establishing balance in the AnS is an important component of IBS treatment. This article discusses the current knowledge of body-mind treatment,addressing the topic from a practical point of view

Objective: To determine the prevalence of the use of traditional medicine in?hypertensive patients and to identify the socio-demographic characteristics of these patients. Materials and Methods: This is a single cross-sectionalstudy with descriptive purpose that was carried out over a 4 month-period, from 1 January 2017 to 30 April 2017, in the outpatient department of the Heart Institute of Abidjan. It involved patients who consulted during this period for high blood pressure. An informed questionnaire was submitted to patients. A pre-test was performed on 20 patients prior to the start of the survey. Results: The prevalence was 34%, with a slight male predominance (52.4%). The average age of our patients was 51.7 years ± 20 years. Males (52.4%) and females (47.6%) were roughly in the same proportions in our study with a slight male predominance. Patients with a higher level of education used traditional medicine in 30.6% that is about one third of the cases. nearly one third of the patients had a monthly income above 300,000 FCFA (28.5%). Almost half of the patients (45%) had social insurance coverage. Conclusion: The use of traditional medicine by hypertensive patients is a practice that exists and is growing rapidly. The profile of hypertensive patients using traditional medicine can be summarized as a young subject, a male with a higher education level, a high monthly income and social coverage. It is the place to insist on the therapeutic education of our hypertensive patients’ only way for a good control of the blood pressure figures.

Mango is the third largest export fruit in Cote d’Ivoire. However, its yield is limited by the damage caused by fruit flies （Diptera： Tephritidae）. This study aimed at assessing the trapping system for fruit fly detection and monitoring in mango orchards in northern C？te d’Ivoire. Four sites were selected in northern C？te d’Ivoire in mango production area and in timber yard areas. Five trapping systems were tested： two food attractants （torula yeast, CeraTrap） and three sex attractants （methyl eugenol, trimedlure, cue-lure）. Plastic bottles were used for food attractants and commercial traps for sex attractants. Five traps per treatment with three repetitions per site were set up. Ten species of flies have been identified： Bactrocera dorsalis, B. cucurbitae, Ceratitis anonae, C. bremii, C. capitata, C. cosyra, C. punctata, dacus ciliatus, D. punctatifrons and dacus spp.. Among these species, B. dorsalis was dominant. It was captured by 94.04% and 90.94%, respectively, in mango orchards and forest areas included wild fruits. The average number of individuals captured varied from one species to another, depending on the attractants. This average was estimated to 379.91, 27.58, 25.55, 15.1 and 11.93, respectively, for méthyl eugénol, torula yeast, CeraTrap, cue-lure, trimedlure. The attractants have shown their specificity in capturing fly species. Methyl eugenol had the highest capture and was the most effective.

Activated carbon made from the shells of Ricinodendron heudelotii was used to remove the remazol black dye in aqueous solution. The results of the characterization of this carbon revealed that it is microporous, with a basic global surface (0.337 mmol/L) and a specific surface of 612 m2/g. The prepared carbon therefore has excellent adsorbent properties. Kinetic and thermodynamic studies were carried out to describe the adsorption mechanism of remazol black on this carbon. It appears from this study that the pseudo-second-order kinetic model is the best suited to describe this adsorption phenomenon with an equilibrium time of 200 min. The adsorption equilibrium study revealed that Langmuir and Freundlich models can help to describe the adsorption process. We note that the optimum pH and optimum mass for the removal of 20 mg/L of remazol black are 3 and 0.25 g, respectively. This carbon made it possible to eliminate more than 98% of the remazol dye in aqueous solution. The thermodynamic study revealed that the adsorption is of the physisorption type, spontaneous and endothermic.

Côte d’Ivoire is the third largest supplier of mangoes to the European market, after Brazil and Peru, and the leading exporter of mangoes to the African market. However, mango production is faced with the problem of fruit flies, which cause yields to fall. In order to combat fruit flies, a study was launched into the early detection of fruit flies at different phenological stages of the mango tree. The overall aim of the study is to help improve mango productivity through early detection of fruit flies at different phenological stages. Accordingly, a trapping system containing sexual attractants and insecticides was set up in the four cardinal directions of the mango orchard. Insects were collected once a week during the vegetative, flowering, mango development and mango ripening stages. Twelve fruit fly species in four genera and seven species were identified, with a high abundance of Bactrocera dorsalis ((265.64 ± 132.82) individuals) and Ceratitis cosyra ((171.87 ± 85.94) individuals). Fruit flies were most abundant at the maturity stage, with a high abundance of Bactrocera dorsalis species ((129.20 ± 46.15) individuals) and at the vegetative stage ((597.80 ± 214.07) individuals), and a high abundance of Ceratitis cosyra species at the flowering (111.26 ± 33.71) and mango development ((187.47 ± 62.64) individuals) stages. In conclusion, the phenological stages of mango influence the population of fruit flies in mango orchards.

Assessing the impact of climate change(CC)on agricultural production systems is mainly done using crop models associated with climate model *** review is one of the few,with the main objective of providing a recent compendium of CC impact studies on irrigation needs and rice yields for a better understanding and use of climate and crop *** discuss the strengths and weaknesses of climate impact studies on agricultural production systems,with a particular focus on uncertainty and sensitivity analyses of crop *** the new generation global climate models(GCMs)are more robust than previous ones,there is still a need to consider the effect of climate uncertainty on estimates when using *** GCMs cannot directly simulate the agro-climatic variables of interest for future irrigation assessment,hence the use of intelligent climate ***,sensitivity and uncertainty analyses must be applied to crop models,especially for their calibration under different *** impacts of CC on irrigation needs and rice yields vary across regions,seasons,varieties and crop ***,integrated assessments,the use of remote sensing data,climate smart tools,CO_(2)enrichment experiments,consideration of changing crop management practices and multi-scale crop modeling,seem to be the approaches to be pursued for future climate impact assessments for agricultural systems。
