The crosstalk between signaling and metabolic pathways has been known to play key roles in human diseases and plant biological processes.The integration of signaling and metabolic pathways can provide an essential reference framework for crosstalk analysis.However,current databases use distinct structures to present signaling and metabolic pathways,which leads to the chaos in the integrated networks.Moreover,for the metabolic pathways,the metabolic enzymes and the reactions are disconnected by the current widely accepted layout of edges and nodes,which hinders the topological analysis of the integrated networks.Here,we propose a novel“meta-pathway”structure,which uses the uniformed structure to display the signaling and metabolic pathways,and resolves the difficulty in linking the metabolic enzymes to the reactions topologically.We compiled a comprehensive collection of global integrative networks(GINs)by merging the meta-pathways of 7077 species.We demonstrated the assembly of the signaling and metabolic pathways using the GINs of four species—human,mouse,Arabidopsis,and rice.Almost all of the nodes were assembled into one major network for each of the four species,which provided opportunities for robust crosstalk and topological analysis,and knowledge graph construction.

Study on the catch,bycatch and discard of Chinese pelagic longline fisheries in the Atlantic Ocean

Catch,bycatch and discard information is important for the assessment and management of fisheries.Using Chinese pelagic tuna longline observer data from 2010 to 2018,we studied the catch composition in the Chinese pelagic tuna longline fisheries in Atlantic targeting bigeye tuna(Thunnus obesus)and bluefin tuna(Thunnus thynnus),and analyzed the survival status and discard rates of common bycatch species.A total of 55 species,including tunas,billfishes,sharks,sea turtles,cetaceans,seabirds,and other pelagic species,were observed.The results indicated that the catch composition of the Chinese pelagic tuna longline fishery targeting bigeye tuna was significantly different from that targeting bluefin tuna.The annual discard rates of common species decreased over this period.Discard rate by length and discard mortality for common species were varied among species.This is the first study to estimate catch,bycatch,and discard using Chinese pelagic tuna longline observer data in the Atlantic Ocean,which is important for the management of Chinese tuna longline fisheries in Atlantic Ocean.

BiVO_(4)is one of the most promising photoanode materials for photoelectrochemical(PEC)solar energy conversion,but it still suffers from poor photocurrent density due to insufficient light‐harvesting efficiency(LHE),weak photogenerated charge separation efficiency(Φ_(Sep)),and low water oxidation efficiency(Φ_(OX)).Herein,we tackle these challenges of the BiVO_(4)photoanodes using systematic engineering,including catalysis engineering,bandgap engineering,and morphology engineering.In particular,we deposit a NiCoO_(x)layer onto the BiVO_(4)photoanode as the oxygen evolution catalyst to enhance theΦ_(OX)of Fe‐g‐C_(3)N_(4)/BiVO_(4)for PEC water oxidation,and incorporate Fe‐doped graphite‐phase C_(3)N_(4)(Fe‐g‐C_(3)N_(4))into the BiVO_(4)photoanode to optimize the bandgap and surface areas to subsequently expand the light absorption range of the photoanode from 530 to 690 nm,increase the LHE andΦ_(Sep),and further improve the oxygen evolution reaction activity of the NiCoO_(x)catalytic layer.Consequently,the maximum photocurrent density of the as‐prepared NiCoO_(x)/Fe‐g‐C_(3)N_(4)/BiVO_(4)is remarkably boosted from 4.6 to 7.4 mA cm^(−2).This work suggests that the proposed systematic engineering strategy is exceptionally promising for improving LHE,Φ_(Sep),andΦ_(OX)of BiVO_(4)‐based photoanodes,which will substantially benefit the design,preparation,and large‐scale application of next‐generation high‐performance photoanodes.

Background:Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is one of the most common chronic liver diseases globally.Hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)are the major effector cells of liver fibrosis.HSCs contain abundant lipid droplets(LDs)in their cytoplasm during quiescence.Perilipin 5(Plin 5)is a LD surface-associated protein that plays a crucial role in lipid homeostasis.However,little is known about the role of Plin 5 in HSC activation.Methods:Plin 5 was overexpressed in HSCs of Sprague–Dawley rats by lentivirus transfection.At the same time,Plin 5 gene knockout mice were constructed and fed with a high-fat diet(HFD)for 20 weeks to study the role of Plin 5 in NAFLD.The corresponding reagent kits were used to measure TG,GSH,Caspase 3 activity,ATP level,and mitochondrial DNA copy number.Metabolomic analysis of mice liver tissue metabolism was performed based on UPLC-MS/MS.AMPK,mitochondrial function,cell proliferation,and apoptosis-related genes and proteins were detected by western blotting and qPCR.Results:Overexpression of Plin 5 in activated HSCs led to a decrease in ATP levels in mitochondria,inhibition of cell proliferation,and a significant increase in cell apoptosis through AMPK activation.In addition,compared with the HFD-fed C57BL/6J mice,Plin 5 knockout mice fed with HFD showed reduced liver fat deposition,decreased LD abundance and size,and reduced liver fibrosis.Conclusion:These findings highlight the unique regulatory role of Plin 5 in HSCs and the role of Plin 5 in the fibrosis process of NAFLD.

The intrinsic magnetic topological insulator MnBi2Te4provides a feasible pathway to the high-temperature quantum anomalous Hall（QAH） effect as well as various novel topological quantum phases. Although quantized transport properties have been observed in exfoliated MnBi2Te4thin flakes, it remains a big challenge to achieve molecular beam epitaxy（MBE）-grown MnBi2Te4thin films even close to the quantized regime. In this work, we report the realization of quantized anomalous Hall resistivity in MBE-grown MnBi2Te4thin films with the chemical potential tuned by both controlled in situ oxygen exposure and top gating. We find that elongated post-annealing obviously elevates the temperature to achieve quantization of the Hall resistivity, but also increases the residual longitudinal resistivity, indicating a picture of high-quality QAH puddles weakly coupled by tunnel barriers. These results help to clarify the puzzles in previous experimental studies on MnBi2Te4and to find a way out of the big difficulty in obtaining MnBi2Te4samples showing quantized transport properties.

以福州市烟台山历史文化风貌区为例,通过构建结构方程模型,从怀旧情绪出发,以旅游体验价值和地方依恋作为中介变量,探析游客文明旅游行为意愿的形成机制。研究结果显示:(1)怀旧情绪显著地正向影响旅游体验价值、地方依恋和游客文明旅游行为意愿;(2)旅游体验价值对地方依恋和游客文明旅游行为意愿存在显著的正向促进作用;(3)地方依恋对旅游体验价值存在显著的正向影响、而对文明旅游行为意愿则没有直接影响作用;(4)旅游体验价值和地方依恋分别在怀旧情绪对游客文明旅游行为意愿的影响机制中起中介作用,且路径“怀旧情绪→旅游体验价值→地方依恋→文明旅游行为意愿”和路径“怀旧情绪→地方依恋→旅游体验价值→文明旅游行为意愿”的链式中介效应均显著。

北方防沙带是我国防治沙化和荒漠化的关键地带,是“三北”工程的核心区,区内土壤贫瘠、风速大、干旱缺水、植被稀少、生态恢复力低,而大型露天煤矿开采与生态保护矛盾突出,直接影响区域生态安全和国家能源保供,迫切需要开展大型露天矿区生态保护修复研究。针对北方防沙带大型露天煤矿区开采引起的土地破坏、扬尘起沙、水位下降、土壤沙化、植被退化等问题。以北方防沙带面积和露天煤炭产量占比均最大的内蒙古的大型露天煤矿区为研究区,秉承“减损开采-立体保水-造土活土-系统修复-集成监管”的研究思路,揭示大型露天矿岩土损伤-生态退化传导机理、生态减损开采机制、重建生态自维持机制,研发生态保护型减损开采、生态化设计、水资源保护与综合利用、抗侵蚀地貌重塑、排土场活土层精细重构、土壤改良与提质增容、菌-藻-草联合修复、生态系统退化监管等关键技术,形成适合北方防沙带露天煤矿区生态保护与修复技术体系,建成大型露天矿区生态保护修复集成示范区。创建低成本、高效率、可持续、可复制的大型露天矿区生态保护修复模式,为保障我国北方防沙带大型露天矿区科学开采与生态安全提供支撑,实现煤炭开发能源保供与生态保护相协调、“开发金山银山,再造绿水青山”的目标。

基于2008—2019年中国优秀旅游城市的旅游经济相关指标的面板数据,采用空间自相关、探索性回归及地理加权回归(GWR)等方法,探究中国优秀旅游城市旅游经济的空间格局及影响因素。结果表明:①中国优秀旅游城市的旅游经济存在较强的空间相关性,高−高(H-H)和低−低(L-L)集聚的城市数量较多,呈现“大分散,小聚集”的两级分化格局;H-H集聚区主要集中于东部沿海地区,而L-L集聚区主要集中在西部地区;2008—2019年,研究区总体集聚格局相对稳定,但局部地区集聚格局有所变化。②国内旅游收入影响因子最优组合为旅游资源禀赋、产业结构、交通运输条件、生态环境状况;旅游外汇收入影响因子最优组合为旅游资源禀赋、对外开放程度、市场化程度、生态环境状况。③各因子影响程度均呈现明显的空间异质性,各因子对中国优秀旅游城市旅游经济的影响随样本单元的变化而变化,研究结果可为各城市制定相应的旅游经济发展对策提供科学依据。

Simulating the impacts of fishing on central and eastern tropical Pacific ecosystem using multispecies size-spectrum model

The size-spectrum model has been considered a useful tool for understanding the structures of marine ecosystems and examining management implications for fisheries.Based on Chinese tuna longline observer data from the central and eastern tropical Pacific Ocean and published data,we developed and calibrated a multispecies size-spectrum model of twenty common and commercially important species in this area.We then use the model to project the status of the species from 2016 to 2050 under five constant-fishing-mortality management scenarios:(1)F=0;(2)F=F_(recent),the average fishing mortality from 2013 to 2015;(3)F=0.5F_(recent);(4)F=2F_(recent) and(5)F=3F_(recent).Several ecological indicators were used to track the dynamics of the community structure under different levels of fishing,including the mean body weight,slope of community size spectra(Slope),and total biomass.The validation demonstrated that size-at-age data of nine main catch species between our model predictions and those empirical data from assessments by the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission matched well,with the R^(2)>0.9.The direct effect of fishing was the decreasing abundance of large-sized individuals.The mean body weight in the community decreased by~1500 g(21%)by 2050 when F doubled from F_(recent) to 2F_(recent).The higher the fishing mortality,the steeper the Slope was.The projection also indicated that fishing impacts reflected by the total biomass did not increase proportionally with the increasing fishing mortality.The biomass of the main target tuna species was still abundant over the projection period under the recent fishing mortality,except Albacore tuna(Thunnus alalunga).For sharks and billfishes,their biomass remained at relatively higher levels only under the F=0 scenario.The results can serve as a scientific reference for alternative management strategies in the tropical Pacific Ocean.
