Tumor-microenvironment activated programmable synergistic cancer therapy by bioresponsive rare-earth nanocomposite

Synergistic chemotherapy-photothermal therapy(CT-PTT)can improve the cancer treatment efficacy,but its treatment effect is still limited by factors such as targeting efficiency and treatment sequence.Herein,a H_(2)S-responsive metal organic frameworks(MOFs)coated rare-earth nanocomposite(csEr@-MOF)was constructed and loaded with a chemotherapeutic drug(DOX)and a heat shock protein(HSP)inhibitor(Shepherdin).As the drug-loaded csEr@MOF reaches the H_(2)S-riched colorectal tumor region,based on the reaction between H_(2)S and MOF,Shepherdin is released for inhibiting the function of HSPs,the generated CuS is used for PTT and DOX is released for CT.Through being monitored by ratiometric imaging of rare-earth nanocomposite,it is possible to perform the precise treatment timing for PTT.With the help of Shepherdin,the treatment effect of PTT was enhanced.Therefore,programmable CT-PTT synergistic cancer therapy activated by a single H_(2)S trigger is achieved in vitro and in vivo.This work provides new ideas for designing tumor microenvironment-responsive therapeutic agents for programmable synergistic therapy with better targeting and therapeutic efficiency.

Here we report an in situ assembly growth method that controls the growth of NiTCNQ on the surface of graphdiyne(GDY).The catalytic system of donor–acceptor–donor(GDY/TCNQ/Ni)structure with multiple charge transfer(CT)was achieved by controlling the growth of NiTCNQ on the surface of GDY.Significantly,a controlled double layer interface of GDY/TCNQ/Ni was formed.This system implemented simultaneously the two elements we expected(1)an incomplete CT,and(2)the infinite distribution of active sites originating from highly asymmetric surface charge distribution.The high conductivity and typical semiconductor characteristics of the catalyst endows it with high catalytic activity.We found that an electrolytic cell consisting of the CT salt as a catalyst provided a 1.40 V ultra-small cell voltage up to 10 mA cm−2 and the outer GDY film effectively prevented the corrosion of the catalyst.Our study is the first to introduce CT complexes to a novel catalytic material platform for high selectivity of catalysts,and undoubtedly demonstrates the high selectivity,stability,and activity of such catalytic systems,which provides a new space for the development of novel conceptual catalysts.

The full E-field control of multiferroic interfacial magnetism is a long-standing challenge for micro-electromechanical systems(MEMS)and has the potential to transform electronics operation mechanisms.When scaling down conventional complementary metal-oxide semiconductor(CMOS)devices,increased heating dissipation becomes a top concern.Combining the highly correlated ferroic orders,notably the strongly coupled interfacial magnetoelectric(ME)interactions,may lead to devices beyond CMOS.These devices use the electric field to regulate magnetization,which opens up the prospect of downsizing,improved performance,and lower power consumption.To broadly survey this tremendous scope within the last five years,this review summarizes advances in voltage control of interfacial magnetism(VCIM)with various material system selection;controlling effects with different gating methods are also explored.Five classic mechanisms are demonstrated:strain,exchange bias,orbital reconstruction,and the electrostatic and electrochemical.The encouraging photovoltaic approach is also discussed.Each method’s capabilities and application scenarios are compared.Analyses of the comprehensive gating results of different magnetic coupling effects such as perpendicular magnetic anisotropy(PMA)and Ruderman-Kittel-Kasuya-Yosida(RKKY)are additionally made.At last,controlling of skyrmions and two-dimensional(2D)material magnetization is summarized,indicating that E-field gating offers a universal approach with few limitations for material selection.These results point to potential for E-field control interfacial magnetism and predict significant future advancements for spintronics.

With the development of the rail transit industry,more attention has been paid to the passive safety of rail vehicles.Structural damage is one of the main failure behaviors in a rail vehicle collision,but it has been paid little attention to in past research.In this paper,the quasi-static fracture experiments of SUS301L-MT under different stress states were carried out.The mechanical fracture properties of this material were studied,and the corresponding finite element simulation accuracy was improved to guide the design of vehicle crashworthiness.Through the tests,the fracture behavior of materials with wide stress triaxiality was obtained,and each specimen’s fracture locations and fracture strains were determined.Parameters of a generalized incremental stress state dependent damage model(GISSMO)of the material were calibrated,and the model’s accuracy was verified with test results from a 45°shear specimen.The GISSMO failure model accurately reflected the fracture characteristics of the material.The mesh dependency of this model was modified and discussed.The results show that the simulation agrees well with experimental data for the force-displacement curve after correction,but the strain distribution needs to be further studied and improved.

CONSPECTUS:Diagnostics are vital in healthcare services because of their ability to reveal disease occurrence and evaluate therapeutic performance.Recent advances in nanoprobes have revolutionized the diagnostics field.These nanoprobes typically contain one or more signal channels;thereby,they are able to quantify chemical signals or locate spatial indicators upon signal collection.It is noteworthy that multichannel nanoprobes have more merits than conventional single-channel ones,which has recently attracted significant interest.A benefit of this approach is that multiple signals will generate more information in one single test,which avoids omitting details and reduces the risk of false results.Additionally,multiple signals give more instrumentation options to operators,which allows diagnostics in broad clinical conditions.As a result,multichannel nanoprobes are ideal tools to increase diagnostic performance.Due to the specific 4f electrons,lanthanide ions have simultaneous and extraordinary electric,optical,and magnetic capacities.Therefore,lanthanide-doped nanomaterials are advanced candidates for fabricating multichannel nanoprobes and hence are favorable for biological and medical studies.In this Account,we highlight recent progress in designing multichannel lanthanide-doped nanoprobes to improve biomolecule detection and diagnostic performance with a particular focus on our own work.First,we present a brief overview on the type of signals that are available for constructing multichannel nanoprobes.The principles and merits of each signal are highlighted.Then,we summarize the general strategies of integrating multiple types of signals into one nanoprobe.Using this strategy,we have fabricated a series of multichannel lanthanide-doped nanoprobes and have explored their potential to improve diagnostic precision from different aspects.Finally,we propose an outlook on future development and possible issues of next-generation lanthanidedoped nanoprobes with multiple signal channels.We hope this timely account can

The impacts of the cavity leakage flow on the shrouded stator aerodynamic performance were investigated by modelling the annular cascade mainstream with the seal cavity flow path based on the validated numerical method.Meanwhile,the interactions between the cavity leakage and the mainstream were also determined in the current study.The development of hub corner separation under the action of leakage was discussed and the total pressure loss coefficient as well as the entropy-based loss coefficient was employed to evaluate the performance changes at different seal clearances and cavity rotational speeds.The results show that the cavity leakage flow induces a new vortex near the blade leading edge and plays an important role in the development of passage vortex and the size of concentrated shedding vortex.By increasing the seal clearance with more cavity leakage flow rate,an increase in the pitchwise extent of the separation region under 15%span is significant and the total pressure loss in the separation core increases.In addition,with the increase of cavity rotating speed,the starting point of corner separation moves backward,reducing the size and depth of the hub corner separation.The mainstream loss reduction in combination with the entropy increase in the seal cavity causes the entropy-based loss coefficient to perform a trend of decreasing first and then increasing with the cavity speed.

In modern smart orchards,fruit detection models based on deep learning require expensive dataset labeling work to support the construction of detection models,resulting in high model application costs.Our previous work combined generative adversarial networks(GANs)and pseudolabeling methods to transfer labels from one specie to another to save labeling costs.However,only the color and texture features of images can be migrated,which still needs improvement in the accuracy of the data labeling.

Since the rapid spread of the COVID-19 worldwide,the pandemic has led to a huge impact on global sporting events.As a major international event,the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics has commonalities with the 2008 Beijing Olympics,the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics,and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in terms of international public opinion context and epidemiological background.In this study,over 1 million pieces of UGC(User Generated Contents)in Chinese and English languages were obtained from social media platforms such as Twitter,YouTube,as well as traditional mass media in various countries to compare the differences between the two languages in international public opinion.Using sentiment analysis,this study explores the evolution of international public opinion topics and sentiment differences among the above four Olympic Games.The analysis results show that:1)regardless of traditional mass media or online social media,there is a more obvious tendency of general politicization in the topics of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics,and extreme emotional remarks of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics are more frequent;2)in the topic of political opinion involving China,international Chinese public opinion presents more negative sentiment than those in English;3)Among the topics involving COVID-19,the negative level of public opinion in Chinese and English is opposite for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics;4)International public opinion on the topic of sports events is significantly more positive in Chinese than in English;5)YouTube’s Chinese opinion environment is better than English.
