Exhaled ammonia(NH_(3))can be used as a crucial biomarker of kidney and liver diseases.However,the high humidity in the detection conditions remains a challenge for accurate detection by gas sensors.Herein,a copper-based metal-organic framework(CH_(3)-Cu-BTC)with methyl(CH_(3)^(-))functionalization of trimesic acid was synthesized for NH_(3) colorimetric sensing.The CH_(3)-Cu-BTC exhibited a strong response for 5 ppm NH_(3) with high selectivity under high relative humidity(75%RH).Density functional theory(DFT)simulations indicated that the NH_(3) molecules interacted more strongly with CH_(3)-Cu-BTC than H_(2)O molecules did,and the corresponding color switching was attributed to the lone-pair electron in NH_(3) changing the coordination environment of Cu^(2+)ions,leading to an obviously visible color switching response from ruby green to blue.Based on the tailor-made pore chemistry,the precise detection of trace amounts of NH_(3) in exhaled air was realized through functionalized MOF materials.The strategy used in this study not only offers a new pathway for the rapid detection of low concentration NH_(3) under humid conditions,but also shows a method for early respiration diagnosis of kidney and liver diseases.

荧光碳点的制备及其对微量Cr(Ⅵ)的检测

以乙醛和氢氧化钠为原料,通过化学氧化法,在常温常压下制备出了一种黄色的荧光碳点(Y-CDs)。通过高分辨透射电镜、红外光谱、X射线光电子能谱、紫外光谱及荧光光谱对Y-CDs进行了相关表征。结果表明:所制备的Y-CDs平均粒径约为6 nm,荧光量子产率为16.3%,最佳激发波长为360 nm,最大发射波长为513 nm。实验发现:Cr(Ⅵ)对Y-CDs具有显著的荧光猝灭效果,这主要是荧光内滤效应及荧光共振能转移所导致的。基于此机理建立对微量Cr(Ⅵ)的检测方法。当Cr(Ⅵ)浓度在0~240μmol/L范围内时,Y-CDs荧光强度与Cr(Ⅵ)浓度具有良好的线性关系(R~2=0.9903),检出限(LOD)为1.67μmol/L。该方法能够应用于微量Cr(Ⅵ)的测定,其加标回收率为97.05%~104.0%(RSD≤4.38%,n=3)。

Experimental demonstration of a photonic spiking neuron based on a DFB laser subject to side-mode optical pulse injection

We proposed and experimentally demonstrated a simple and novel photonic spiking neuron based on a distributed feedback(DFB) laser subject to side-mode optical pulse injection(SMOPI). The DFB laser chip is designed and fabricated based on asymmetric equivalent π phase shift(π-EPS) with the reconstruction-equivalent-chirp(REC) technique. Under side-mode continuous-wave(CW) optical injection,excitability pulse was experimentally observed during the dominant mode switching process due to the injection-locked effect. Based on the transition between the excitability regime and the side-mode injection locking effect, the controllable and repeatable neuron-like spiking response can be realized when external stimulus pulses are electro-optically modulated on the CW optical carrier. The experimental results show that the spike threshold, temporal integration, and refractory period, which are important spike processing mechanisms in biological neurons, can all be achieved in the optically-injected DFB laser. The experimental findings are also verified numerically with a rate equation model that considers the SMOPI. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first experimental demonstration of a photonic spiking neuron based on a DFB laser subject to SMOPI, which holds promise for realizing large-scale photonic spiking neuron arrays for hardware photonic spiking neural network chips.

Rechargeable magnesium batteries(RMBs)hold promise for offering higher volumetric energy density and safety features,attracting increasing research interest as the next post lithium-ion batteries.Developing high performance cathode material by inducing multi-electron reaction process as well as maintaining structural stability is the key to the development and application of RMBs.Herein,multielectron reaction occurred in VS_(4)by simple W doping strategy.W doping induces valence of partial V as V^(2+)and V^(3+)in VS_(4)structure,and then stimulates electrochemical reaction involving multi-electrons in 0.5%W-V-S.The flower-like microsphere morphology as well as rich S vacancies is also modulated by W doping to neutralize structure change in such multi-electron reaction process.The fabricated 0.5%W-V-S delivers higher specific capacity(149.3 m A h g^(-1)at 50 m A g^(-1),which is 1.6 times higher than that of VS_(4)),superior rate capability(76 mA h g^(-1)at 1000 mA g^(-1)),and stable cycling performance(1500cycles with capacity retention ratio of 93.8%).Besides that,pesudocapaticance-like contribution analysis as well as galvanostatic intermittent titration technique(GITT)further confirms the enhanced Mg^(2+)storage kinetics during such multi-electron involved electrochemical reaction process.Such discovery provides new insights into the designing of multi-electron reaction process in cathode as well as neutralizing structural change during such reaction for realizing superior electrochemical performance in energy storage devices.

Gut microbiota affects the estrus return of sows by regulating the metabolism of sex steroid hormones

Background Sex hormones play important roles in the estrus return of post-weaning sows.Previous studies have demonstrated a complex and bi-directional regulation between sex hormones and gut microbiota.However,the extent to which the gut microbiota affects estrus return of post-weaning sows is largely unknown.Results In this study,we first screened 207 fecal samples from well-phenotyped sows by 16S rRNA gene sequencing and identified significant associations between microbes and estrus return of post-weaning sows.Using metagenomic sequencing data from 85 fecal samples,we identified 37 bacterial species that were significantly associated with estrus return.Normally returning sows were characterized by increased abundances of L.reuteri and P.copri and decreased abundances of B.fragilis,S.suis,and B.pseudolongum.The changes in gut microbial composition significantly altered the functional capacity of steroid hormone biosynthesis in the gut microbiome.The results were confirmed in a validation cohort.Significant changes in sex steroid hormones and related compounds were found between normal and non-return sows via metabolome analysis.An integrated analysis of differential bacterial species,metagenome,and fecal metabolome provided evidence that normal return-associated bacterial species L.reuteri and Prevotella spp.participated in the degradation of pregnenolone,progesterone,and testosterone,thereby promoting estrogen biosynthesis.Furthermore,the microbial metabolites related to sow energy and nutrient supply or metabolic disorders also showed relationships with sow estrus return.Conclusions An integrated analysis of differentially abundant bacterial species,metagenome,and fecal metabolome revealed the involvement of L.reuteri and Prevotella spp.in sow estrus return.These findings provide deep insight into the role of gut microbiota in the estrus return of post-weaning sows and the complex cross-talk between gut microbiota and sex hormones,suggesting that the manipulation of the gut microbiota could be an effective st

构建科学的二氧化碳核算体系是推动应对气候变化和实现低碳发展的基石。作为全球经济发展的重要推动力,新兴经济体正在成为全球二氧化碳排放的主要增长源之一。但是,当前仍缺乏全面、细致以及统一的新兴经济体二氧化碳排放清单,导致相关的减碳技术、资金、政策等研究难以开展,从而制约了新兴经济体开展应对气候变化的行动和相关低碳发展规划的制订。中国碳核算数据库(CEADs)编制了2010年至2020年60个新兴经济体全口径、全透明、可验证的二氧化碳排放核算清单。该清单详细核算了分能源类型、分行业的二氧化碳排放数据,具有长时间序列、行业统一等特征。该清单旨在为全球应对气候变化行动提供数据支撑。同时,对新兴经济体二氧化碳排放数据的全面分析不仅能更加科学、客观地评估减排效果,还能落实全球盘点和预测未来碳排放趋势,有效推动新兴经济体积极应对气候变化。

To the Editor:Atopic dermatitis(AD)is a chronic,relapsing inflammatory dermatosis with impairment of skin barrier function and immune dysfunction that affects both children and adults.It is characterized by eczematous lesions,pruritus,sleep disturbance,and diminished quality of life.Management of mild AD relies on emollients,topical corticosteroids,topical calcineurin inhibitors,and phototherapy,while systemic corticosteroids,immunosuppressive agents,and biologics are used for severe refractory cases.^([1])Systemic corticosteroids and immunosuppressants have many undesirable side effects.Patients with moderate-to-severe AD who do not respond adequately to topical therapies have few effective treatment options.

可再生能源出力和负荷波动的不确定性增加了电力系统运行状态的不确定性,为此提出一种考虑区间变量间相关性的区间潮流场景非线性优化方法。通过构造不确定平行四边形区域表示区间变量间的相关性,针对场景优化法可能造成重复计算的问题,通过对比节点电压对节点功率的灵敏度的正、负性,将变化趋势一致的状态变量进行归类计算。算例分析结果表明,所提方法能够准确计算区间边界,有效削减优化次数以及提高计算效率。

Experimental study of a supersonic turbulent boundary layer using PIV

Particle image velocimetry was applied to the study of the statistical properties and the coherent structures of a flat plate turbulent boundary layer at Mach 3. The nanoparticles with a good flow-following capability in supersonic flows were adopted as the tracer particles in the present experiments. The results show that the Van Driest transformed mean velocity profile satisfies the incompressible scalings and reveals a log-law region that extends to y/ =0.4, which is further away from the wall than that in incompressible boundary layers. The Reynolds stress profiles exhibit a plateau-like region in the log-law region. The hairpin vortices in the streamwise-wall-normal plane are identified using different velocity decompositions, which are similar to the results of the flow visualization via NPLS technique. And multiple hairpin vortices are found moving at nearly the same velocity in different regions of the boundary layer. In the streamwise-spanwise plane, elongated streaky structures are observed in the log-law region, and disappear in the outer region of the boundary layer, which is contrary to the flow visualization results.

The fall armyworm,Spodoptera frugiperda(S.frugiperda),represents the most resistant insect species and poses serious threat to grain yield.Chlorantraniliprole(CHL),which targets the ryanodine receptors(RyRs)in insects,has demonstrated the efficacy in controlling S.frugiperda.Nevertheless,this has led to emerging resistance in several countries.To counter this resistance,a viable approach involves the development of novel compounds that bind against RyRs via distinct binding sites or modes.In this study,a series of 22 novel anthranilic diamide derivatives was designed and synthesized,and their insecticidal activities were evaluated.Most of these derivatives showed moderate to good insecticidal activity against S.frugiperda and Mythimna separata.Time-lapse fluorescence measurements of endoplasmic reticulum luminal calcium revealed that most derivatives elicited cellular responses similar as CHL when assessed on HEK293 cells expressing S.frugiperda ryanodine receptors(SfRyRs).The mode of action of compound 13a was studied and verified on the isolated neurons by calcium imaging technique.Finally,molecular docking analysis was employed to predict the binding mechanism of compound 13a against SfRyRs.Overall,these novel diamide derivatives hold promise as a valuable resource for guiding the future design of insecticidal compounds targeting RyRs.
