With the fast development of artificial intelligence(AI),Internet of things(IOT),etc,there is an urgent need for the technology that can efficiently recognize,store and process a staggering amount of information.The AlScN material has unique advantages including immense remnant polarization,superior temperature stability and good latticematch to other III-nitrides,making it easy to integrate with the existing advanced III-nitrides material and device technologies.However,due to the large band-gap,strong coercive field,and low photo-generated carrier generation and separation efficiency,it is difficult for AlScN itself to accumulate enough photo-generated carriers at the surface/interface to induce polarization inversion,limiting its application in in-memory sensing and computing.In this work,an electro-optic duplex memristor on a GaN/AlScN hetero-structure based Schottky diode has been realized.This twoterminal memristor shows good electrical and opto-electrical nonvolatility and reconfigurability.For both electrical and opto-electrical modes,the current on/off ratio can reach the magnitude of 104,and the resistance states can be effectively reset,written and long-termly stored.Based on this device,the“IMP”truth table and the logic“False”can be successfully reproduced,indicating the huge potential of the device in the field of in-memory sensing and computing.

Gut barrier disruption is a key event in bridging gut microbiota dysbiosis and high-fat diet(HFD)-associated metabolic disorders.However,the underlying mechanism remains elusive.In the present study,by comparing HFD-and normal diet(ND)-treated mice,we found that the HFD instantly altered the composition of the gut microbiota and subsequently damaged the integrity of the gut barrier.Metagenomic sequencing revealed that the HFD upregulates gut microbial functions related to redox reactions,as confirmed by the increased reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels in fecal microbiota incubation in vitro and in the lumen,which were detected using in vivo fluorescence imaging.This microbial ROS-producing capability induced by HFD can be transferred through fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)into germ-free(GF)mice,downregulating the gut barrier tight junctions.Similarly,mono-colonizing GF mice with an Enterococcus strain excelled in ROS production,damaged the gut barrier,induced mitochondrial malfunction and apoptosis of the intestinal epithelial cells,and exacerbated fatty liver,compared with other low-ROS-producing Enterococcus strains.Oral administration of recombinant high-stability-superoxide dismutase(SOD)significantly reduced intestinal ROS,protected the gut barrier,and improved fatty liver against the HFD.In conclusion,our study suggests that extracellular ROS derived from gut microbiota play a pivotal role in HFD-induced gut barrier disruption and is a potential therapeutic target for HFD-associated metabolic diseases.

BACKGROUND Mazabraud’s syndrome(MS)is a rare and slowly progressive benign disease characterized by the concurrent presence of fibrous dysplasia of bone and intramuscular myxoma,and is thought to be associated with mutations of the GNAS gene.To date,only about 100 cases of MS have been reported in the literature,but its standard treatment strategy remains unclear.CASE SUMMARY We report two cases of MS in young women who underwent different treatments based on their symptoms and disease manifestations.The first patient,aged 37,received internal fixation and intravenous bisphosphonate for a pathological fracture of the right femoral neck,excision of a right vastus medialis myxoma was subsequently performed for pain control,and asymptomatic psoas myxomas were monitored without surgery.Genetic testing confirmed a GNAS gene mutation in this patient.The second patient,aged 24,underwent right vastus intermedius muscle myxoma resection,and conservative treatment for fibrous dysplasia of the ilium.These patients were followed-up for 17 months and 3 years,respectively,and are now in a stable condition.CONCLUSION Various treatments have been selected for MS patients who suffer different symptoms.The main treatment for myxomas is surgical resection,while fibrous dysplasia is selectively treated if the patient experiences pathological fracture or severe pain.However,given the documented instances of malignant transformation of fibrous dysplasia in individuals with MS,close follow-up is necessary.

目的评价脑室内注射胶质细胞源性神经营养因子(GDNF)改善新生大鼠术后远期认知功能与海马蛋白激酶Mζ(PKMζ)和Kalirin表达的关系。方法取出生后第7天的SD大鼠60只,雄雌不拘,采用随机数字表法为4组(n=15):对照组(C组)、GDNF组(G组)、手术组(S组)、手术+GDNF组(S+G组)。C组未接受麻醉、手术或药物治疗;G组脑室内注射重组大鼠GDNF 0.3μg;S组和S+G组在3%七氟烷麻醉下行右颈动脉暴露手术,S+G组术后脑室内注射重组大鼠GDNF 0.3μg。于出生后第33天开始,进行Barnes迷宫测试及恐惧条件测试。行为学测试后处死大鼠,取大脑,左半脑用于高尔基染色,观察树突形态和测量树突棘密度;右半脑提取海马蛋白,采用Western blot法检测PKMζ和Kalirin的表达。结果与C组比较,S组Barnes迷宫中识别目标盒所需时间延长,恐惧条件测试中环境相关冻结时间缩短,海马树突分支总长度、分支数量及与同心圆交点数量和树突棘密度减少,PKMζ和Kalirin表达下调(P0.05)。与S组比较,S+G组识别目标盒所需时间缩短,环境相关冻结时间延长,海马树突分支总长度、分支数量及与同心圆交叉点数量和树突棘密度增加,PKMζ和Kalirin表达上调(P<0.05)。结论脑室内注射GDNF改善新生大鼠术后远期认知功能的机制可能与上调海马PKMζ和Kalirin的表达,促进树突和树突棘的发育有关。

The utilization of the dispersive Fourier transformation approach has enabled comprehensive observation of the birth process of dissipative solitons in fiber lasers.However,there is still a dearth of deep understanding regarding the extinction process of dissipative solitons.In this study,we have utilized a combination of experimental and numerical techniques to thoroughly examine the breathing dynamics of dissipative solitons during the extinction process in an Er-doped mode-locked fiber laser.The results demonstrate that the transient breathing dynamics have a substantial impact on the extinction stage of both steady-state and breathing-state dissipative solitons.The duration of transient breathing exhibits a high degree of sensitivity to variations in pump power.Numerical simulations are utilized to produce analogous breathing dynamics within the framework of a model that integrates equations characterizing the population inversion in a mode-locked laser.These results corroborate the role of Q-switching instability in the onset of breathing oscillations.Furthermore,these findings offer new possibilities for the advancement of various operational frameworks for ultrafast lasers.

The underlying mechanism of variety–water–nitrogen–stubble damage interactions on yield formation in ratoon rice with low stubble height under mechanized harvesting

Agronomic measures are the key to promote the sustainable development of ratoon rice by reducing the damage from mechanical crushing to the residual stubble of the main crop, thereby mitigating the impact on axillary bud sprouting and yield formation in ratoon rice. This study used widely recommended conventional rice Jiafuzhan and hybrid rice Yongyou 2640 as the test materials to conduct a four-factor block design field experiment in a greenhouse of the experimental farm of Fujian Agricultural and Forestry University, China from 2018 to 2019.The treatments included fertilization and no fertilization, alternate wetting and drying irrigation and continuous water flooding irrigation, and plots with and without artificial crushing damage on the rice stubble. At the same time, a 13C stable isotope in-situ detection technology was used to fertilize the pot experiment. The results showed significant interactions among varieties, water management, nitrogen application and stubble status.Relative to the long-term water flooding treatment, the treatment with sequential application of nitrogen fertilizer coupled with moderate field drought for root-vigor and tiller promotion before and after harvesting of the main crop, significantly improved the effective tillers from low position nodes. This in turn increased the effective panicles per plant and grains per panicle by reducing the influence of artificial crushing damage on rice stubble and achieving a high yield of the regenerated rice. Furthermore, the partitioning of 13C assimilates to the residual stubble and its axillary buds were significantly improved at the mature stage of the main crop, while the translocation rate to roots and rhizosphere soil was reduced at the later growth stage of ratooning season rice. This was triggered by the metabolism of hormones and polyamines at the stem base regulated by the interaction of water and fertilizer at this time. We therefore suggest that to achieve a high yield of ratoon rice with low stubble height under mechanized harvest

The angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2)is a primary cell surface viral binding receptor for SARS-CoV-2,so finding new regulatory molecules to modulate ACE2 expression levels is a promising strategy against COVID-19.In the current study,we utilized islet organoids derived from human embryonic stem cells(hESCs),animal models and COVID-19 patients to discover that fibroblast growth factor 7(FGF7)enhances ACE2 expression within the islets,facilitating SARS-CoV-2 infection and resulting in impaired insulin secretion.Using hESC-derived islet organoids,we demonstrated that FGF7 interacts with FGF receptor 2(FGFR2)and FGFR1 to upregulate ACE2 expression predominantly inβcells.This upregulation increases both insulin secretion and susceptibility ofβcells to SARS-CoV-2 infection.Inhibiting FGFR counteracts the FGF7-induced ACE2 upregulation,subsequently reducing viral infection and replication in the islets.Furthermore,retrospective clinical data revealed that diabetic patients with severe COVID-19 symptoms exhibited elevated serum FGF7 levels compared to those with mild symptoms.Finally,animal experiments indicated that SARS-CoV-2 infection increased pancreatic FGF7 levels,resulting in a reduction of insulin concentrations in situ.Taken together,our research offers a potential regulatory strategy for ACE2 by controlling FGF7,thereby protecting islets from SARS-CoV-2 infection and preventing the progression of diabetes in the context of COVID-19.

The biochemical behavior and mechanism of uranium(Ⅵ)bioreduction induced by natural Bacillus thuringiensis

For a broader understanding of uranium migration affected by microorganisms in natural anaerobic environment,the bioreduction of uranium(Ⅵ)(U(Ⅵ))was revealed in Bacillus thuringiensis,a dominant bacterium strain with potential of uranium-tolerant isolated from uranium contaminated soil.The reduction behavior was systematically investigated by the quantitative analysis of U(Ⅳ)in bacteria,and mechanism was inferred from the pathway of electron transmission.Under anaerobic conditions,appropriate biomass and sodium lactate as electron donor,reduction behavior of U(Ⅵ)induced by B.thuringiensis was restricted by the activity of lactate dehydrogenase,which was directly affected by the initial pH,temperature and initial U(Ⅵ)concentration of bioreduction system.Bioreduction of U(Ⅵ)was driven by the generation of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH)from enzymatic reaction of sodium lactate with various dehydrogenase.The transmission of the electrons from bacteria to U(Ⅵ)was mainly supported by the intracellular NADH dehydrogenase-ubiquinone system,this process could maintain the biological activity of cells.

Microscopic and spectroscopic analysis of atmospheric iron-containing single particles in Lhasa,Tibet

The Tibetan Plateau,known as the“Third Pole”,is currently in a state of perturbation caused by intensified human activity.In this study,56 samples were obtained at the five sampling sites in typical area of Lhasa city and their physical and chemical properties were investigated by TEM/EDS,STXM,and NEXAFS spectroscopy.After careful examination of 3387single particles,the results showed that Fe should be one of the most frequent metal elements.The Fe-containing single particles in irregular shape and micrometer size was about7.8%and might be mainly from local sources.Meanwhile,the Fe was located on the subsurface of single particles and might be existed in the form of iron oxide.Interestingly,the core-shell structure of iron-containing particles were about 38.8%and might be present as single-,dual-or triple-core shell structure and multi-core shell structure with the Fe/Si ratios of 17.5,10.5,2.9 and 1.2,respectively.Meanwhile,iron and manganese were found to coexist with identical distributions in the single particles,which might induce a synergistic effect between iron and manganese in catalytic oxidation.Finally,the solid spherical structure of Fe-containing particles without an external layer were about 53.4%.The elements of Fe and Mn were co-existed,and might be presented as iron oxide-manganese oxide-silica composite.Moreover,the ferrous and ferric forms of iron might be co-existed.Such information can be valuable in expanding our understanding of Fe-containing particles in the Tibetan Plateau atmosphere.

Organic electrode materials are promising for batteries.However,the reported organic electrodes are often facing the challenges of low specific capacity,low voltage,poor rate capability and vague charge storage mechanisms,etc.Isomers are good platform to investigate the charge storage mechanisms and enhance the performance of batteries,which,however,have not been focused in batteries.Herein,two isomers are reported for batteries.As a result,the isomer tetrathiafulvalene(TTF)could store two monovalent anions reversibly,deriving an average discharge voltage of 1.05 V and a specific capacity of 220 mAh g−1 at a current density of 2 C.On the other hand,the other isomer tetrathianaphthalene could only reversibly store one monovalent anion and upon further oxidation,it would undergo an irreversible solid-state molecular rearrangement to TTF.The molecular rearrangement was confirmed by electrochemical performances,X-ray diffraction patterns,nuclear magnetic resonance spectra,and 1H detected heteronuclear multiple bond correlation spectra.These results suggested the small structural change could lead to a big difference in anion storage,and we hope this work will stimulate more attention to the structural design for boosting the performance of organic batteries.
