Over the past few decades, advances in immunological knowledge have led to the identification of novel immune checkpoints, reinvigorating cancer immunotherapy. Immunotherapy, represented by immune checkpoint inhibitors, has become the leader in the precision treatment of cancer, bringing a new dawn to the treatment of most cancer patients. Galectin-9 (LGALS9), a member of the galectin family, is a widely expressed protein involved in immune regulation and tumor pathogenesis, and affects the prognosis of various types of cancer. Galectin-9 regulates immune homeostasis and tumor cell survival through its interaction with its receptor Tim-3. In the review, based on a brief description of the signaling mechanisms and immunomodulatory activities of galectin-9 and Tim-3, we summarize the targeted expression patterns of galectin-9 in a variety of malignancies and the promising mechanisms of anti-galectin-9 therapy in stimulating anti-tumor immune responses.

Escherichia coli is one of the most important microbial cell factories,but infection by bacteriophages in the environment may have a huge impact on its application in industrial ***,we developed a mobile CRISPR-Cas9 based anti-phage system for bacteriophages defense in *** conjugative plasmids pGM1(phosphoglucomutase 1)and pGM2 carrying one and two guide RNAs,respectively,were designed to defend against a filamentous *** results showed that the pGM1 and pGM2 could decrease the phage infection rate to 1.6%and 0.2%respectively in infected *** preventing phage infection in ***,the pGM2 decreased the phage infection rate to 0.1%,while pGM1 failed to block phage *** verification revealed that point mutations in protospacer or protospacer adjacent motif sequences of the phage genome caused loss of the defense *** results support the potential application of MCBAS in *** cell factories to defend against phage infections.

Eighteen polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)were detected in benthos collected onboard the‘Snow Dragon’in the Northern Bering Sea Shelf and Chukchi Sea Shelf during the 6 th Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition(CHINARE 2014).18 PAHs for all biota samples ranged from 34.2 to 128.1 ng/g dry weight(dw),with the highest concentration observed in fish muscle(Boreogadus saida)samples close to *** *** PAH composition pattern was dominated by the presence of lighter 3 ring(57%)and 2 ring(28%)PAHs,indicating oil-related or petrogenic sources as important origins of PAH *** of alkyl-PAHs(1-methylnaphthalene and 2-methylnaphthalene)were lower than their parent PAH(naphthalene)in all biological tissue,and their percentage also decreased significantly(pmacroinvertebrate species showing relatively higher dioxin-like toxicity and carcinogenic risk.

The recovery of heat and water from low-grade flue gas is of considerable importance for energy conservation and environmental *** the full-open absorption heat pump shows promise as a means of achieving heat and water recovery,the lack of research on heat and mass transfer performance of open-type solution evaporation regeneration represents a significant impediment to its design and *** paper experimentally investigates the regeneration performance of an open-type spaying tower equipped with ceramic structured *** different regeneration modes are proposed,namely ambient air receiver mode and flue gas receiver mode,to utilize air or low-grade flue gas as a driving *** impact of different input parameters on the regeneration characteristics,including heat transfer capacity,water removal rate,thermal efficiency,and humidity effectiveness,are *** findings indicate that the enhancement of regeneration can be achieved through the increase of solution flow rate,solution temperature,and flue gas flow rate in both regeneration ***,high solution concentration and flue gas humidity ratio can weaken water removal rates and reduce thermal *** the regeneration of CaCl_(2)-H_(2)O with a concentration of55%,flue gas around 200℃with a humidity ratio below 44 g/kg can successfully drive the solution regeneration *** the solution concentration or flue gas humidity ratio continues to rise,additional energy is necessary for ***,the coupled heat and mass transfer coefficients are fitted,which can contribute to the design and optimization of the open-type regenerator.

Network anomaly analysis is an emerging subtopic of network security. Network anomaly refers to the unusual behavior of network devices or suspicious network status. A number of intelligent visual tools are developed to enhance the ability of network security analysts in understanding the original data, ultimately solving network security problems. This paper surveys current progress and trends in network anomaly visualization. By providing an overview of network anomaly data, visualization tasks, and applications, we further elaborate on existing methods to depict various data features of network alerts, anomalous traffic, and attack patterns data. Directions for future studies are outlined at the end of this paper.

Cotton fiber strength is mainly determined during the secondary cell wall deposition stage when cel- lulose is synthesized. We obtained cDNA of 20―25 d post anthesis (DPA) fiber from 109 F2 progeny and developed a cotton fiber transcriptome profiling via cDNA-AFLP technology using 37 different primer combinations. The F2 population originated from an interspecific cross between Gossypium hirsutum and Gossypium barbadense. One hundred and thirty-eight absence/presence polymorphic transcript- derived fragments (TDFs), with sizes ranging from 100 bp to 722 bp, were screened. Of these, 75 (53.62%) were polymorphic between the parents of the F2 population. Sequencing the 75 transcripts revealed that 37 of them had been reported to be cotton fiber ESTs. Nine of 75 transcript sequences were homologous to 7 cloned cotton fiber genes, encoding cysteine proteinase, vacuolar H+-pyro- phosphatase, vacuolar H+-ATPase, catalytic subunit, arabinogalactan protein, putative receptor protein kinase PERK1, GIA/RGA-like gibberellin response modulator and cellulose synthase. Some other transcripts may represent new gene fragments in cotton fiber development. Surprisingly, 46 of the 75 transcripts were mapped to a single linkage group. The transcriptome groups and the sequenced TDFs could serve as important resources in the functional genomic research of cotton fiber development.

The finite-time tracking control for reusable launch vehicle with matched disturbance is investigated. An adaptivemultivariable controller is proposed where the bounds of the perturbations are not known. A proof of the finite-time convergence of the closed-loop system is derived using the Lyapunov technique. The feature of the proposed control scheme is that it does not require any information on the bounds of the disturbance and its gradient except for their existence. Finally, some simulation tests are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

A wide variety of predictive analytics techniques have been developed in statistics, machine learning and data mining; however, many of these algorithms take a black-box approach in which data is input and future predictions are output with no insight into what goes on during the process. Unfortunately, such a closed system approach often leaves little room for injecting domain expertise and can result in frustration from analysts when results seem snurious or confusing. In order to allow for more human-centric approaches, the visualization community has begun developing methods to enable users to incorporate expert knowledge into the pre- diction process at all stages, including data cleaning, feature selection, model building and model validation. This paper surveys current progress and trends in predictive visual ana- lytics, identifies the common framework in which predictive visual analytics systems operate, and develops a summariza- tion of the predictive analytics workfiow.
