Antiviral activity of vitamin D derivatives against severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus in vitro and in vivo

Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus(SFTSV)is a tick-borne virus that causes the severe fever thrombocytopenia syndrome,which manifests as fever and haemorrhage,accompanied by severe neurological *** date,no specific antiviral drugs have been approved for this ***,we investigated whether vitamin D derivatives inhibit SFTSV both in vitro and in *** in vitro study demonstrated that vitamin D derivatives significantly suppressed viral RNA replication,plaque formation,and protein expression in a dosedependent ***,in vivo studies revealed that doxercalciferol and alfacalcidol were associated with increased survival and reduced viral RNA load in the ***-of-addition assay suggested that vitamin D derivatives primarily acted during the post-entry phase of SFTSV ***,cytopathic effect protective activity was not observed in RIG-I immunodeficient cell line Huh7.5,and the administration of vitamin D derivatives did not improve the survival rates or reduce the blood viral loads in adult A129 *** transcriptome exploration into the antiviral mechanism revealed that alfacalcidol stimulates host innate immunity to exert antiviral *** expand the application of vitamin D derivatives,in vitro and in vivo drug combination assays were performed,which highlighted the synergistic effects of vitamin D derivatives and T-705 on *** combination of alfacalcidol and T-705 significantly enhanced the therapeutic effects in *** study highlights the potential of vitamin D derivatives against SFTSV and suggests that they may have synergistic effects with other compounds used in the treatment of SFTSV infection.

Development Trajectories in the Biotechnology Industry:China versus Leading Countries

The present paper examines China＇s biotechnology industry from a global perspective and explores how its development trajectory differs from that of countries that are leaders in biotechnology. We draw on diverse data to demonstrate the unique development trajectory of the industry in China. China has benefited through targeted spin-offs of R＆D-oriented foreign direct investment from developed countries driven by the effects of globalization, government-encouraged collaboration between the domestic academia and industry, and the input of overseas returnees. Together with an increasing focus of the government and domestic enterprises on independent innovation, such developments have enabled China to catch up with the global biotechnology industry. However, its small scale and low capacity for commercializing innovations under China ＂s current regulations and other barriers pose challenges for the development of the industry. Suggestions for the sustainable development of China＇s biotechnology industry are presented in this study.

Social infrastructures such as dams are likely to be exposed to high risk of terrorist and military attacks,leading to increasing attentions on their vulnerability and catastrophic consequences under such *** paper tries to develop advanced deep learning approaches for structural dynamic response prediction and dam health *** first,the improved long short-term memory(LSTM)networks are proposed for data-driven structural dynamic response analysis with the data generated by a single degree of freedom(SDOF)and the finite numerical simulation,due to the unavailability of abundant practical structural response data of concrete gravity dam under blast *** kinds of LSTM-based models are discussed with the various cases of noise-contaminated signals,and the results prove that LSTM-based models have the potential for quick structural response estimation under blast ***,the damage indicators(i.e.,peak vibration velocity and domain frequency)are extracted from the predicted velocity histories,and their relationship with the dam damage status from the numerical simulation is *** study provides a deep-learning based structural health monitoring(SHM)framework for quick assessment of dam experienced underwater explosions through blastinduced monitoring data.

This paper is concerned with the fault detection（FD） problem for a class of networked *** introduce a novel communication protocol which is called the Round-Robin protocol（RRP） to overcome the limited communication *** the RRP protocol,sensor nodes are prearranged in a particular sequence,and communication between sensor and the receiving end is thus *** kind of scheduling approach can effectively reduce the instantaneous communication burden.A set of zero-order holders（ZOHs） are used to store the received *** generate the residual signal,a residual generator is *** residual evaluation function and the threshold are ***,the periodical delay is inevitable in the RRP scheduling ***,complexity induced by the periodical delays can be greatly reduced by using the matrix blocking *** criteria ensuring the exponentially mean-square stability of the dynamics are established in the help of the Lyapunov stability *** of the desired fault detector is reformulated as a convex optimization problem with linear matrix inequality（LMI） *** the numerical example,the occurred fault is detected timely,which verifies the rationality of the investigated scheme.

In this article,we present our research results on chemical fixation of CO_(2) using organobismuth *** fabricated bismuth biphenoate complex,Zn-Mg-Al composite oxides,and SBA-15 or Al-SBA-15 immobilized hydroxyl ionic liquid for CO_(2) cycloaddition onto *** hypervalent bismuth compounds show good ability for association and dissociation with CO_(2).The bismuth biphenolate complexes are catalytically effective for the cycloaddition *** heterogeneous catalysts,***-Mg-Al oxides and SBA-15 or Al-SBA-15 immobilized ionic liquid,are efficient for the synthesis of cyclic carbonate from CO_(2) and *** is found that the presence of a trace amount of water can improve the catalytic activity of the immobilized ionic liquid.

This paper deals with the optimal path planning problem for mobile robot which are drove in obstacle ***,we aim at solving the deadlock problem using grid network and improved particle swarm optimization *** proposed method is different from traditional particle swarm optimization method,which generally has high-computational complexity and local ***,we utilize the integrated grid network and improved particle swarm optimization *** the grid network,the long path in the whole workspace with obstacles is divided into multi-segment continuous short *** improved particle swarm optimization is used in the short paths by the *** the grids are prioritized and according to the grids priority in the short path,an integrated algorithm is *** applying the proposed algorithm,the mobile robot move to the target along the optimal path without obstacle collision and ***,some experiments are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm.

Understanding the nature of the mysterious pseudogap phenomenon is one of the most important issues associated with cuprate high-T_(c) ***,we report 17O nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) studies on two planar oxygen sites in stoichio?metric cuprate YBa_(2)Cu_(4)O_(8) to investigate the symmetry breaking inside the pseudogap *** observe that the Knight shifts of the two oxygen sites are identical at high temperatures but different below T_(nem) ~185 K,which is close to the pseudogap temperature T^(*).Our result provides a microscopic evidence for intra-unit-cell electronic *** difference in quadrupole resonance frequency between the two oxygen sites is unchanged below T_(nem),which suggests that the observed nematicity does not directly stem from the local charge density ***,a short-range charge density wave(CDW) order is observed below T=150 *** additional broadening in the 17O-NMR spectra because of this CDW order is determined to be inequivalent for the two oxygen sites,which is similar to that observed in case of *** results suggest a possible connection between nematicity,CDW order,and pseudogap.

Assessing the Seasonal Predictability of Summer Precipitation over the Huaihe River Basin with Multiple APCC Models

Seasonal rainfall predictability over the Huaihe River basin is evaluated in this paper on the basis of 23-year(1981-2003) retrospective forecasts by 10 climate models from the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation(APEC) Climate Center(APCC) multi-model ensemble(MME) prediction *** is found that the summer rainfall variance in this basin is largely internal,which leads to lower rainfall predictability for most individual climate *** dividing the 10 models into three categories according to their sea surface temperature(SST) boundary conditions including observed,predicted,and persistent SSTs,the MME deterministic predictive skill of summer rainfall over Huaihe River basin is *** is shown that the MME is effective for increasing the current seasonal forecast *** analysis shows that the MME averaged over predicted SST models has the highest rainfall prediction skill,which is closely related to model's capability in reproducing the observed dominant modes of the summer rainfall anomalies in Huaihe River *** result can be further ascribed to the fact that the predicted SST MME is the most effective model ensemble for capturing the relationship between the summer rainfall anomalies over Huaihe River basin and the SST anomalies(SSTAs) in equatorial oceans.

Novel benzimidazole derived naphthalimide triazoles: synthesis, antimicrobial activity and interactions with calf thymus DNA

A novel series of benzimidazole derived naphthalimide triazoles and some corresponding triazoliums have been successfully synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, 13 C NMR, 1H-1H COSY, IR and HRMS spectra. All the new compounds were screened for their antimicrobial activities in vitro by two-fold serial dilution. 2-Chlorobenzyl triazolium 8g and compound 9b with octyl group exhibited the best antibacterial activities among all the tested compounds, especially against S. aureus with inhibitory concentration of 2 μg/mL which was equipotent potency to Norfloxacin(MIC=2 μg/mL) and more active than Chloromycin(MIC=7 μg/mL). Triazoliums 8g and 8f bearing 3-fluorobenzyl moiety displayed the best antifungal activities(MIC=2-19 μg/mL) against all the tested fungal strains without being toxic to PC12 cell line within concentration of 128 μg/m L. Further investigations by fluorescence and UV-Vis spectroscopic methods revealed that the compound 8g could effectively intercalate into calf thymus DNA to form the 8g-DNA complex which could block DNA replication, exerting powerful antimicrobial activities.
