本文择取穆时英最早创作的以爱情故事为基轴、具有“新感觉派风格”的小说《被当作消遣品的男子》,从爱情小说这一视点出发,聚焦男主人公主体形成的故事,将其与此前尤其是五四时期的爱情小说进行彻底比较,以阐明两者之间的连续性和差异性。本文指出,将穆时英小说视为不同于五四时期小说的“现代主义”文学这一观点是20世纪80年代文学史去意识形态化的延伸。本文通过比较分析认为,穆时英小说实际上与五四时期小说之间有着很强的连续性,就男主人公作为“窥视主体”而言,继承和发展了此前小说的男主人公形象,因此穆时英小说仍是五四时期爱情小说谱系的延续,其新颖性乃至中国“现代主义”文学的新颖性,归根结蒂应该被重新考虑为发展继承五四时期小说的结果。

A Case of Incidentally Found Bilateral Retroperitoneal Cavernous Hemangiomas

A 59-year-old male was admitted to our hospital because of incidentally found right retroperitoneal tumor. He had undergone removal of a hemangioma in the left oral cavity four years before. An abdominal CT scan performed in our hospital revealed poorly enhanced bilateral retroperitoneal tumors adjacent to kidneys. Those tumors were of low signal intensity on T1-weighted images and high on T2-weighted images by magnetic resonance imaging. The right retroperitoneal tumor of 2.5 cm in size was surgically removed and histopathological examination indicated cavernous hemangioma. The smaller left retroperitoneal tumor of 1.1 cm in size was left untouched to be followed up, as we supposed that it has the same benign pathology. There have been no previous cases of retroperitoneal cavernous hemangioma as a presentation of multiple hemangiomas.

Inhibitory Effect of Cigarette Smoke Extract on Experimental Lung Metastasis of Mouse Melanoma by Suppressing Tumor Invasion

We investigated the effect of a nicotine-and tar-free cigarette smoke extract (CSE) using an experimental metastasis mouse model which was intravenously injected with B16-BL6 mouse melanoma cells. Three-hour pretreatment of cells with various concentrations of CSE (0, 0.1, 0.3, and 1%) dose-dependently reduced the number of lung metastatic nodules 14 days after tumor injection. To elucidate the mechanism of this anti-metastatic effect of CSE, we examined the invasion and migration activities of B16-BL6 cells pretreated with CSE for three hours in vitro. CSE significantly reduced the invasion of cells at 1% and the migration at 0.3% and 1%. Under the same pretreatment conditions, CSE had no effect on the proliferation of cells. These findings suggest that CSE contains some ingredients that suppress hematogenic lung metastasis via inhibition of the invasion and migration activities of mouse melanoma cells.

GC/FT-IR Analysis of Novel 4,6,9-Triene and 2,4,6,9-Tetraene Occurring in a Female Pheromone Gland of <i>Arctia plantaginis</i>(Erebidae: Arctiinae)

Fifteen subspecies of the wood tiger moth, Arctia plantaginis (Lepidoptera: Erebidae: Arctiinae), have been recorded in the Northern Hemisphere. An analysis of crude pheromone extracts by GC equipped with an electroantennographic (EAG) detector showed four EAG-active components (Comps. I–IV) that were commonly involved in the pheromone glands of two subspecies inhabiting Japan and Finland. Comp. I is a major component (>75%) and the others are minor components (3% - 15%). Their mass spectra, measured by GC/MS, revealed the chemical structures of C21 unsaturated hydrocarbons as follows: 3,6,9-triene for Comp. I, 4,6,9-triene for Comp. II, 1,3,6,9-tetraene for Comp. III, and 2,4,6,9-tetraene for Comp. IV. Comps. I and III are known Type II pheromone compounds, and their retention times coincide with those of the authentic standards with all Z configurations. As a next step, the extract was analyzed by GC/FT-IR to determine the configuration of Comps. II and IV. Their IR spectra showed two characteristic C-H bending absorptions around 990 and 945 cm-1 due to the conjugated dienyl moieties;thus, Z and E configurations were assigned to the double bonds at the 2- and 4-positions, respectively. Their Z double bonds at the 6- and 9-positions are indicated by no absorptions around 970 cm-1, due to the isolated double bonds with E configurations. Finally, the structures of Comps. II and IV were confirmed by synthesis using a double Wittig reaction. The synthetic (4E,6Z,9Z)-4,6,9-triene and (2Z,4E,6Z,9Z)-2,4,6,9-tetraene showed strong EAG activity, and their chemical data coincided well with those of the natural Comps. II and IV, indicating the correctness of the structure determination by GC/FT-IR analysis and its usefulness for Type II pheromone compounds.

Influence of Floodplain Area on Fish Species Richness in Waterbodies of the Chao Phraya River Basin, Thailand

River-floodplain ecosystems are in delicate balance and are impacted by even minor changes in water availability. In this study, we surveyed fish assemblages and investigated environmental and landscape parameters in a total of 135 floodplain waterbodies (rivers, diversion canals, ponds, irrigation ditches, paddy fields, and wetlands) in the Chao Phraya River Basin in rainy (September 2014) and dry (March 2015) seasons. Factors affecting fish species richness in each type of waterbody were analyzed using generalized linear mixed models. Floodplain area around each surveyed waterbody was a major factor determining fish species richness in rivers, diversion canals, and ponds in the region. The contribution of floodplain area was equivalent to that of hydrology (current velocity, water depth) and water quality (dissolved oxygen, turbidity) in the waterbodies. The population of juvenile fishes was increased in temporarily connected floodplain waterbodies to main rivers compared with isolated waterbodies, and fluvial and lacustrine fishes were observed in the temporary inundated floodplain waterbodies during the rainy season. The high dependence of fish species richness on floodplain area in the region appeared to be a result of the use of inundated floodplains by fish species to forage and breed. Our results highlight the impact of flood control measures that reduces floodplain area. These measures must be reviewed to ensure the conservation of fish biodiversity in the Chao Phraya River Basin, one of the world’s most threatened floodplain systems.

Background: To explore the effects of cholestasis on whole blood concentration of tacrolimus (TAC), an immunosup-pressant, we investigated the relationship among blood TAC concentration, bile flow, and TAC metabolites in bile, as well as the relationship between total bilirubin (T-Bil), an index of cholestasis, and blood TAC concentration, in liver transplant recipients. Methods: Data were collected retrospectively from 16 male and 19 female patients (mean age: 38 years;range: 12 -59 years) who had undergone a living-related liver transplantation at Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine from 2004 through 2008. Analysis of TAC, demethyl-TAC, and hydroxy-TAC in bile was performed by LC-MS/MS. Results: There was no correlation between the ratio of TAC metabolite to TAC in bile (M/P) of demethyl-TAC and post operation days (POD), whereas a weak linear correlation was demonstrated between M/P of hydroxy-TAC and POD (r = -0.345). Moreover, linear correlations were not observed between M/P and the TAC trough level normalized dose (TLTAC/dose), and between TLTAC/dose and POD. A negative linear correlation was demonstrated between bile flow and T-Bil in blood (r = -0.495). Furthermore, a positive linear correlation was observed between TLTAC/dose and T-Bil (r = 0.598), whereas there was no correlation between bile flow and TLTAC/dose. Conclusions: Improvement of hepatic function and the increase of TAC clearance after postoperative day 7 did not significantly contribute to hepatic TAC metabolism, bile excretion, and TLTAC/dose. Postoperative biliary stricture from liver transplantation with/without biliary drainage caused inter-and intra-patient variability in TLTAC/dose after liver transplantation, which could be assessed by T-Bil. T-Bil in blood might be a predictive biomarker for determining the degree of bile duct stricture and TAC dose in liver transplantation patients.
