In recent years,accurate Gaussian noise removal has attracted considerable attention for mobile applications,as in smart *** conventional denoising methods have the potential ability to improve denoising performance with no additional ***,we propose a rapid post-processing method for Gaussian noise removal in this *** matching and 3D filtering and weighted nuclear norm minimization are utilized to suppress *** these nonlocal image denoising methods have quantitatively high performance,some fine image details are lacking due to the loss of high frequency *** tackle this problem,an improvement to the pioneering RAISR approach(rapid and accurate image super-resolution),is applied to rapidly post-process the denoised *** gives performance comparable to state-of-the-art super-resolution techniques at low computational cost,preserving important image structures *** modification is to reduce the hash classes for the patches extracted from the denoised image and the pixels from the ground truth to 18 filters by two improvements:geometric conversion and reduction of the strength *** addition,following RAISR,the census transform is exploited by blending the image processed by noise removal methods with the filtered one to achieve artifact-free *** results demonstrate that higher quality and more pleasant visual results can be achieved than by other methods,efficiently and with low memory requirements.

We reported a facile preparation of a uniform decoration of spherical n-type SnO2 by p-type CuO nanopa rticles as well as their utilization for enhanced performance on toluene gas *** nanoparticles and spherical SnO2 were synthesized by a facile non-hydrolytic solvothermal reaction,which could easily control their morphology.A uniform CuO nanoparticles decoration onto spherical SnO2 was achieved by a simple sonication and vigorous stirring at room tempe *** revealed orga nic solvents used in the oxide synthesis had a considerable influence on its surface charge that was beneficial for a uniformly electrostatic self-decoration between positively charged p-type CuO nanoparticles and negatively charged n-type spherical ***,CuO was partially reduced to Cu metal during high concentration of toluene exposure destroying p-n contact and developing new metal-semiconductor contact so-called ohmic junction,resulting in extraordinarily responsive and selective to toluene gas at 400℃as compared to a single p-CuO and *** was also found that the amount of particle decoration had an influence on sensor response and *** optimum amount of CuO nanoparticle decoration was0.1 mmol on 0.5 mmol *** re s ponse(S=Ra/Rg)and selectivity of CuO/S nO2 based material toward the exposure of 75 ppm toluene had reached to such high as 540 and 5,*** effect of p-n heterojunction and metal-semiconductor contact on the gas sensing mechanism of p-type CuO/n-type SnO2 was ***,by decorating with CuO nanoparticles,CuO/SnO2 morphology was well-maintained after gas sensing evaluation demonstrated its excellency for high temperature toluene gas sensor application.

Various attempts at exploiting infonnation visualization for sports have recently been reported in the literature,although it is still challenging to analyze continuous ball *** this paper,we propose a novel visual analytics system,called TideGrapher,to track the transition of tactile situations in a rugby *** a particular focus on the side position of the ball,we designed a dedicated spatial substrate based on the spatio-temporal trajectory of the ball and provided a set of basic *** analysis was strengthened by adding a new index,called initiative,to commonly used possession(ball occupation)and territory(dominance of territory).The feasibility of the proposed visual analytics system was proven empirically through application to datasets from real amateur and professional matches.

A New Acylated Anthocyanin from the Red Flowers of Camellia hongkongensis and Characterization of Anthocyanins in the Section Camellia Species

Twelve anthocyanins （1-12） were isolated from the red flowers of Camellia hongkongensis Seem. by chromatography using open columns. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analyses, that is, proton-nuclear magnetic resonance, carbon 13-nuclear magnetic resonance, heteronuclear multiple quantum correlation, heteronuclear multiple bond correlation, high resolution electrospray ionization mass and ultraviolet visible spectroscopies. Out of these anthocyanins, a novel acylated anthocyanin, cyanidin 3-O-（6-O-（Z）-p-coumaroyl）-β-galactopyranoside （6）, two known acylated anthocyanins, cyanidin 3-O-（6-O-（E）-p-coumaroyl）-β-galactopyranoside （7） and cyanidin 3-O-（6-O-（E）-caffeoyl）-^- galactopyranoside （8）, and three known delphinidin glycosides （10-12） were for the first time isolated from the genus Camellia. Furthermore, pigment components in C. japonica L., C. chekiangoleosa Hu and C. semiserrata Chi were studied. The results indicated that the distribution of anthocyanins was differed among these species. Delphinidin glycoside was only detected in the flowers of C. hongkongensis, which is a special and important species in the section Camellia. Based on the characterization of anthocyanins in the section Camellia species, there is a close relationship among these species, and C. hongkongensis might be an important parent for creating new cultivars with bluish flower color.

Primary site resection is superior for incurable metastatic colorectal cancer

AIM:To investigate survival in patients treated with FOLFOX followed by primary site resection or palliative surgery for incurable metastatic colorectal cancer. METHODS:Between 2001 and 2009,a total of 98 patients with colorectal adenocarcinoma and non-resectable metastases were diagnosed and treated with the new systemic agent chemotherapy regimen FOLFOX. Primary site resection was carried out in 38 patients, creation of a colostomy or bypass without resection was carried out in 36 patients,and 23 were not operated on because of advanced *** survival times of patients in different groups were analyzed. RESULTS:There were no differences between the patients regarding their general condition,concurrent disease,or tumor stage according to AJCC *** median survivals of the three groups were 30.6,20.8,and 12.7 mo(log-rank P value<0.05),*** postoperative complication rate was higher in the primary site resection group than in the palliative surgery group. CONCLUSION:The results indicate that there are benefits from primary site resection for incurable metastatic colorectal cancer with systemic chemotherapy.

Plastids are unique organelles that can alter their structure and function in response to environmental and developmental stimuli. Chloroplasts are one type of plastid and are the sites for various metabolic pro- cesses, including photosynthesis. For optimal photosynthetic activity, the chloroplast proteome must be properly shaped and maintained through regulated proteolysis and protein quality control mechanisms. Enzymatic functions and activities are conferred by protein maturation processes involving consecutive proteolytic reactions. Protein abundances are optimized by the balanced protein synthesis and degrada- tion, which is depending on the metabolic status. Malfunctioning proteins are promptly degraded. Twenty chloroplast proteolytic machineries have been characterized to date. Specifically, processing peptidases and energy-driven processive proteases are the major players in chloroplast proteome biogenesis, remod- eling, and maintenance. Recently identified putative proteases are potential regulators of photosynthetic functions. Here we provide an updated, comprehensive overview of chloroplast protein degradation ma- chineries and discuss their importance for photosynthesis. Wherever possible, we also provide structural insights into chloroplast proteases that implement regulated proteolysis of substrate proteins/peptides.

Sensitivity study of subgrid scale ocean mixing under sea ice using a two-column ocean grid in climate model CESM

Brine drainage from sea ice formation plays a critical role in ocean mixing and seasonal variations of halocline in polar oceans. The horizontal scale of brine drainage and its induced convection is much smaller than a climate model grid and a model tends to produce false ocean mixing when brine drainage is averaged over a grid cell. A two-column ocean grid （TCOG） scheme was implemented in the Community Earth System Model （CESM） using coupled sea ice-ocean model setting to explicitly solve the different vertical mixing in the two sub- columns of one model grid with and without brine rejection. The fraction of grid with brine rejection was tested to be equal to the lead fraction or a small constant number in a series of sensitivity model runs forced by the same atmospheric data from 1978 to 2009. The model results were compared to observations from 29 ice tethered profilers （ITP） in the Arctic Ocean Basin from 2004 to 2009. Compared with the control run using a regular ocean grid, the TCOG simulations showed consistent reduction of model errors in salinity and mixed layer depth （MLD）. The model using a small constant fraction grid for brine rejection was found to produce the best model comparison with observations, indicating that the horizontal scale of the brine drainage is very small compared to the sea ice cover and even smaller than the lead fraction. Comparable to models using brine rejection parameterization schemes, TCOG achieved more improvements in salinity but similar in MLD.

To understand the influence of fluid CO2 on ultramafic rock-hosted seafloor hydrothermal systems on the early Earth,we monitored the reaction between San Carlos olivine and a CO2-rich NaCl fluid at 300 C and 500 *** the experiments,the total carbonic acid concentration（∑XO2） in the fluid decreased from approximately 65 to 9 mmol/*** minerals,magnesite,and subordinate amount of dolomite were formed via the water-rock *** H2 concentration in the fluid reached approximately 39 mmol/kg within 2736 h,which is relatively lower than the concentration generated by the reaction between olivine and a CO2-free NaCl solution at the same *** seen in previous hydrothermal experiments using komatiite,ferrous iron incorporation into Mg-bearing carbonate minerals likely limited iron oxidation in the fluids and the resulting H2 generation during the olivine *** carbonate mineralogy over the temperature range of natural hydrothermal fields,H2 generation is likely suppressed at temperatures below approximately 300℃ due to the formation of the Mg-bearing ***,H_2 concentration in fluid at 300℃ could be still high due to the temperature dependency of magnetite stability in ultramafic ***,the Mg-bearing carbonates may play a key role in the ocean-atmosphere system on the early *** studies suggest that the subduction of carbonated ultramafic rocks may transport surface CO2 species into the deep *** process may have reduced the huge initial amount of CO2 on the surface of the early *** approximate calculations demonstrate that the subduction of the Mg-bearing carbonates formed in komatiite likely played a crucial role as one of the CO2 carriers from the surface to the deep mantle,even in hot subduction zones.
