Railroad condition monitoring is paramount due to frequent passage through densely populated *** significance arises from the potential consequences of accidents such as train derailments,hazardous materials leaks,or collisions which may have far-reaching impacts on communities and the surrounding *** a solution to this issue,the use of distributed acoustic sensing(DAS)-fiber optic cables along railroads provides a feasible tool for monitoring the health of these extended ***,analyzing DAS data to assess railroad health or detect potential damage is a challenging *** to the large amount of data generated by DAS,as well as the unstructured patterns and substantial noise present,traditional analysis methods are ineffective in interpreting this *** paper introduces a novel approach that harnesses the power of deep learning through a combination of CNNs and LSTMs,augmented by sliding window techniques(CNN-LSTM-SW),to advance the state-of-the-art in the railroad condition monitoring *** well as it presents the potential for DAS and fiber optic sensing technologies to revolutionize the proposed CNN-LSTM-SW model to detect conditions along the rail track *** insights from the data of High tonnage load(HTL)-a 4.16 km fiber optic and DAS setup,we were able to distinguish train position,normal condition,and abnormal conditions along the ***,our investigation demonstrated that the proposed approaches could serve as efficient techniques for processing DAS signals and detecting the condition of railroad infrastructures at any remote distance with DAS-Fiber optic cable ***,in terms of pinpointing the train's position,the CNN-LSTM architecture showcased an impressive 97%detection *** a sliding window,the CNN-LSTM labeled data,the remaining 3%of misclassified labels have been improved dramatically by predicting the exact locations of each type of ***,these prop

Digital learning is becoming increasingly important in the crisis COVID-19 and is widespread in most *** proliferation of smart devices and 5G telecommunications systems are contributing to the development of digital learning systems as an alternative to traditional learning *** learning includes blended learning,online learning,and personalized learning which mainly depends on the use of new technologies and strategies,so digital learning is widely developed to improve education and combat emerging disasters such as COVID-19 *** the tremendous benefits of digital learning,there are many obstacles related to the lack of digitized curriculum and collaboration between teachers and ***,many attempts have been made to improve the learning outcomes through the following strategies:collaboration,teacher convenience,personalized learning,cost and time savings through professional development,and *** this study,facial expressions and heart rates are used to measure the effectiveness of digital learning systems and the level of learners’engagement in learning *** results showed that the proposed approach outperformed the known related works in terms of learning *** results of this research can be used to develop a digital learning environment.

Nowadays,coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)poses a major threat to humanity which is caused by a novel coronavirus in Wuhan,China,at the end of December *** novel coronavirus named the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)according to the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses(ICTV).It spreads directly through close contact with an asymptomatic(carrier)or symptomatic person who is coughing,sneezing,talking,singing and *** also spreads indirectly through contact with an environment contaminated by viral particles of *** the absence of effective treatment against COVID-19,awareness can play an important role in reducing cases of *** this study,we develop a mathematical model to better describe the dynamics of COVID-19 by taking into account the above modes of transmission and the prosocial *** existence,uniqueness,positivity and boundedness of solutions of the model are *** possible equilibrium points are *** local asymptotic stability of these equilibrium points is *** Lyapunov functionals are constructed to investigate the global dynamics of the model.

Endoscopic assessment and management of early esophageal adenocarcinoma

INTERPARTICLE FORCES IN HIGH TEMPERATURE FLUIDIZATION OF GELDART A PARTICLES

Previous reports and current studies show that fluidization of some Geldart A particles is enhanced by increasing bed temperature. Both the averaged local particle concentration and the particle concentration in the dense phase decrease with increasing bed temperature, at constant superficial gas velocities. However, conventional models fail to predict these changes, because the role of interparticle forces is usually neglected at different bed temperatures. Here, the interparticle forces are analyzed to explore the mechanism of gas-solid fluidization at high temperatures. Indeed, as the temperature increases, the interparticle attractive forces decrease while the interparticle repulsive forces increase. Consequently, fluidization behaviors of some Geldart A particles seem to increasingly shift from typical Geldart A towards B with increasing temperature.

Examining the effect of adverse geological conditions on jamming of a single shielded TBM in Uluabat tunnel using numerical modeling

Severe shield jamming events have been reported during excavation of Uluabat tunnel through adverse geological conditions, which resulted in several stoppages at advancing a single shielded tunnel boring machine(TBM). To study the jamming mechanism, three-dimensional(3D) simulation of the machine and surrounding ground was implemented using the finite difference code FLAC3D. Numerical analyses were performed for three sections along the tunnel with a higher risk for entrapment due to the combination of overburden and geological conditions. The computational results including longitudinal displacement contours and ground pressure profiles around the shield allow a better understanding of ground behavior within the excavation. Furthermore, they allow realistically assessing the impact of adverse geological conditions on shield jamming. The calculated thrust forces, which are required to move the machine forward, are in good agreement with field observations and measurements. It also proves that the numerical analysis can effectively be used for evaluating the effect of adverse geological environment on TBM entrapments and can be applied to prediction of loads on the shield and preestimating of the required thrust force during excavation through adverse ground conditions.

Shoreline spatial and temporal response to natural and human effects in Boujagh National Park, Iran

Shoreline variation and river deltas are among the most dynamic systems in marine environments. The related different variations in spatial and temporal scales play significant roles in land planning and different management applications. Modeling the dynamics of seashore of Boujagh National Park(BNP)which is located on the southern coast of the Caspian Sea in the Sefidrud Delta(SD), considering natural and anthropogenic factors, was the main objective of the current study. To achieve this goal, a combination of remote sensing data, historical data, and numerical simulations was utilized. The BNP covers an area of 3,270 ha and includes two international wetlands, Boujagh and Kiashahr. In earlier periods, this area faced severe morphological changes whereas recently its shoreline has experienced gradual variations. Accordingly, at the first stage, the shoreline variation from 2006 to 2017 was extracted by processing and classifying Operational Land Imager(OLI) and Thematic Mapper(TM) images from Landsat satellites using the Maximum Likelihood approach. In the second stage, the two dimensional MIKE21 model was utilized to identify wave and coastal current patterns and parameters for the year ***, the results showed that, the shoreline of the BNP is affected by several natural and anthropogenic factors. Seaward advancement of the shoreline occurred in zones A(east zone) and C(west zone) due to Caspian Sea Level drop and sedimentation while retreating occurred at Zone B(north zone) influenced by wave and current patterns and reduction of the Sefidrud River flows. Also, the results imply that maintaining the existing conditions results in the disappearance of a considerable part of the ecological area in the BNP. Hence, to manage and preserve the coastline of the BNP complying with the current anthropogenic and natural factors, it is vital to take necessary management measures.

The emergence and evolution of OpenStreetMap: a cellular automata approach

Collaborative mapping projects,such as OpenStreetMap(OSM),have received tremendous amounts of contributed data from voluntary participants over *** far,most research efforts deal with data quality issues,but the OSM evolution across space and over time has not been ***,this study is dedicated to the evolution of the contributed information in order to understand an emergent phenomenon of so-called collaborative *** main objective of this paper is to monitor the evolutional pattern of OSM and predict potential future states through a cellular automata(CA)*** is exceedingly relevant for numerous OSM-based *** spatiotemporal analysis of the contributions for the time period 2007–2012,using the city of Heidelberg(Germany)as a case study,reveals that early contributions are given three years after the launching of OSM,while after nearly six years,most of the areas are *** simulation results for the validated CA model,predicting OSM states for 2014,provide clear evidence that most of the areas have been explored three years after people began mapping until 2010,and thereafter,the densification process has begun and will cover most parts of the city although the amount of contribution depends on the land use types.
