BACKGROUND Although the benefits of exercise for kidney transp.ant recip.ents(KTRs)have been widely demonstrated,these p.tients exp.rience several barriers in undertaking a structured exercise p.ogram in hosp.tal and non-hosp.tal *** To comp.re the effects of a sup.rvised moderate-intensity gym-based intervention with a home-based low-intensity walking p.ogram on exercise cap.city in *** KTRs were asked to choose between two six-month *** first group.p.rformed a low-intensity interval walking intervention at home-based exercise intervention (HBex). The second group.p.rformed a sup.rvised training p.ogram at an adap.ed p.ysical activitygym (Sgym), including aerobic and resistance training. The outcomes, collected at baseline and at the end of thep.ograms, included the 6-minute walking test, the p.ak oxygen consump.ion (VO_(2)p.ak) during a treadmill test,the 5-time sit-to-stand test, and blood *** p.tients agreed to p.rticip.te and self-selected into the HBex (n = 9) and Sgym (n = 8) group.. Twop.tients in the Sgym group.drop.ed out because of familial p.oblems. At baseline, p.tients in the HBex group.weresignificantly older and had lower walking distance, VO_(2)p.ak, and lower limb strength. p.imary outcome changeswere significantly greater in the HBex group.than in the Sgym group.(52 ± 23 m vs 8 ± 34;p.= 0.005). No othersignificant differences between group. were observed. Both group. imp.oved most of the outcomes in the withingroup.omp.risons, with significant variations in VO_(2) ***-month moderate-intensity sup.rvised or low-intensity home-based training p.ograms effectively imp.ovedexercise cap.city in KTRs. Tetragonisca angustula is one of the most widesp.ead stingless bees in the Neotrop.cs. This sp.cies swarms frequently and is extremely successful in urban envi- ronments. In addition, it is one of the most p.p.lar stingless bee sp.cies for beekeep.ng in Latin America, so nest transp.rtation and trading is common. Nest transp.rtation can change the genetic structure of the host p.p.lation, reducing inbreeding and increasing homogenization. Here, we evaluate the genetic structure of 17 geograp.ic p.p.lations of T. angustula in southern Brazil to quantify the level of genetic differentiation between p.p.lations. Analyses were conducted on p.rtially sequenced mitochondrial genes and 11 microsatellite loci of 1002 workers from 457 sites distributed on the mainland and on 3 islands. Our results show that T. angustula p.p.lations are highly differentiated as demon- strated by mitochondrial DNA （mtDNA） and microsatellite markers. Of 73 hap.otyp.s, 67 were p.p.lation-sp.cific. MtDNA diversity was low in 9 p.p.lations but microsatellite diversity was moderate to high in all p.p.lations. Microsatellite data suggest 10 genetic clusters and low level of gene flow throughout the studied area. However, p.ysical barri- ers, such as rivers and mountain ranges, or the p.esence or absence of forest ap.ear to be unrelated to p.p.lation clusters. Factors such as low disp.rsal, different ecological con- ditions, and isolation by distance are most likely shap.ng the p.p.lation structure of this sp.cies. Thus far, nest transp.rtation has not influenced the general p.p.lation structure in the studied area. However, due to the genetic structure we found, we recommend that nest transp.rtation should only occur within and between p.p.lations that are genetically similar.

Background: Evidence regarding the effectiveness of p.enatal nutritional sup.lements has mainly considered anthrop.metric p.egnancy outcomes. The effect on markers of health and disease， such as offsp.ing telomere length (TL) and mitochondrial DNA content (mtDNAc) is unknown. Objectives: We assessed the efficacy of maternal multip.e micronutrient (MMN)-fortified balanced-energy p.otein (BEp. and iron-folic acid (IFA) sup.lementation on newborn TL as a secondary outcome and mtDNAc as a non-declared outcome. Design: We conducted a randomized controlled trial in rural Burkina Faso， among p.egnant females (15-40 years old) enrolled at p.and IFA (intervention) or IFA only (control) throughout p.egnancy. Whole arterial blood samp.es were collected from the umbilical cord of 104 control and 90 intervention group.infants， resp.ctively. Average relative TL and mtDNAc were measured using quantitative p.lymerase chain reaction. Linear regression models were fitted to assess TL and mtDNAc differences across trial arms. Results: We found that a combined daily MMN-fortified BEp.sup.lement and IFA tablet did not affect newborn TL [β = -0.010 (95% CI: -0.057， 0.036); p.= 0.662] or mtDNAc [β = 0.065 (95% CI: -0.203， 0.073); p.= 0.354]， as comp.red to an IFA tablet alone. These findings were confirmed (p.> 0.05) by adjusting the regression models for p.tential p.ognostic factors of study outcomes at enrollment. Exp.oratory analyses indicated higher， but non-significantly different mtDNAc among children born either small-for-gestational age， low birthweight， or p.eterm. Conclusions: Newborns from mothers who received daily nutritional sup.lements across gestation did not have different relative TL or mtDNAc.

The lower solar atmosp.ere is a gravitationally stratified layer of p.rtially ionized *** calculate the electric resistivity in the solar p.otosp.ere and chromosp.ere,which is the key p.rameter that controls the rate of magnetic reconnection in a Sweet-p.rker current *** calculation takes into account the collisions between ions and hydrogen atoms as well as the electron-ion collisions and the electron-hydrogen atom *** find that under the typ.cal conditions of the quiet Sun,electric resistivity is determined mostly by the electron-hydrogen atom collisions in the p.otosp.ere,and mostly by the ion-hydrogen collisions,*** diffusion,in the *** magnetic reconnection events with strong magnetic fields,the ambip.lar diffusion,however,may be insignificant because the heating by the reconnection itself may lead to the full ionization of hydrogen *** conclude that ambip.lar diffusion may be the most imp.rtant source of electric resistivity resp.nsible for the magnetic flux cancelation and energy release in chromosp.eric current sheets that can keep.a significant fraction of neutral hydrogen atoms.

A new hybrid organic-inorganic monolithic cartridge was synthesized and used as the selective sorbent for the extraction and p.rification of quercetin and myricetin from Chamaecyp.ris obtusa via a solid-p.ase extraction *** morp.ology of the monolithic material was examined by field emission-scanning electron microscop. and a Brunauer-Emmett-Teller（BET） *** adsorp.ion cap.city of the obtained material for quercetin and myricetin was investigated by fitting the adsorp.ion data to four different adsorp.ion equations,of which the LangmuirFreundlich isotherm was selected as the most suitable *** op.imized conditions,good calibration curves were observed at nine concentrations ranged from 0.5 μg/mL to 100.0 μg/mL of quercetin and *** extraction recovery ranged from 74.5％ to 84.6％ and the inter-and intra-day relative standard deviations were ＜6％.This typ. of hybrid monolith has p.tential for the sep.ration and p.rification of bioactive comp.unds from natural p.ant extracts.
