With the modernization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),the requirement for quality control has increased.The quality marker(Q-marker)is an important standard in this field and has been implemented with remarkable success in recent years.However,the establishment of Qmarkers remains fragmented and the process lacks systematicity,resulting in inconsistent quality control and insufficient correlation with clinical efficacy and safety of TCM.This review introduces four multimodal integrated approaches that contribute to the discovery of more comprehensive and accurate Qmarkers,thus aiding in the establishment of new quality control patterns based on the characteristics and principles of TCM.These include the whole-process quality control strategy,chemical-activity-based screening method,efficacy,safety,and consistent combination strategy,and TCM theory-guided approach.Furthermore,methodologies and representative examples of these strategies are described,and important future directions and questions in this field are also proposed.

With increasing concerns on the environment and human health,the degradation of glyphosate through the formation of less toxic intermediates is of great importance.Among the developed methods for the degradation of glyphosate,photodegradation is a clean and efficient strategy.In this work,we report a new photocatalyst by doping F ion on BiVO_(4) that can efficiently degrade glyphosate and reduce the toxic emissions of aminomethylphosphonic acid(AMPA)through the selective(P)−C−Ncleavage in comparison of BiVO_(4) catalyst.The results demonstrate that the best suppression of AMPA formation was achieved by the catalyst of 0.3F@BiVO_(4) at pH=9(AMPA formation below10%).In situ attenuated total reflectance Fourier transforms infrared(ATR-FTIR)spectroscopy indicates that the adsorption sites of glyphosate on BiVO_(4) and 0.3F@BiVO_(4) are altered due to the difference in electrostatic interactions.Such an absorption alteration leads to the preferential cleavage of the C−Nbond on the N−C−P skeleton,thereby inhibiting the formation of toxic AMPA.These results improve our understanding of the photodegradation process of glyphosate catalyzed by BiVO_(4)-based catalysts and pave a safe way for abiotic degradation of glyphosate.

A novel sensing chip was designed for MALDI-MS quantitation of acid phosphatase(ACP).The ACP sensing chip was constructed through non-covalent interaction of streptavidin and biotin for the assembly of biotinylated peptide substrate on biotinylated polyethylene-glycol(PEG)modified indium-tin oxide(ITO)slide.In the presence of ACP,the peptide substrate was dephosphorylated under acidic condition to generate a new mass signal.The quantitative assay of ACP was achieved with the mass signal ratio of product to the sum of product and left peptide substrate.Under optimal detection conditions,the ratio was linearly correlated with the concentration of ACP in the range of 0.05–12 g/L with a detection limit(LOD)of 0.04 g/L.The designed ACP sensing chip has been used to analyze ACP in complex clinical samples,which exhibited high selectivity,good repeatability,and admirably anti-interference ability.This work further demonstrates the concept of MS sensing and the application of MALDI-MS in quantitative analysis,and provides a convenient method for the quantitation of proteases in clinical diagnosis.

Just because of this, parameterized algorithms have been proposed to deal with it [3].

Grain boundary diffusion process(GBDP)has been developed as an effective approach to increase the coercivity of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets by regulating the compositions and phase distributions near grain boundaries.This work aims to explore how to select the optimum annealing temperature after GBDP.In this work GBDP was performed on a sintered Nd-Fe-B magnet using Dy_(70)Cu_(30) alloy.After GBDP the low eutectic temperature of the grain boundary phases decreases from the initial 492 to 451℃.The magnetic property dependent on different annealing temperatures near the low eutectic temperature was studied.The magnetic properties,especially the squareness factor of demagnetization curve show a strong dependence on the annealing temperature.After GBDP the optimal magnetic properties can be obtained after annealing just above the low eutectic temperature of the grain boundary phases.The mechanism is discussed based on the microstructure analysis.

The seismic response characteristics of three-bucket jacket foundations for offshore wind turbines(OWTs)and the liquefaction of the surrounding soil are particularly important for the development and application of this type of structure for offshore use.Using the shaking table test and three-dimensional finite element analysis,different magnitudes of simulated earthquake waves were used as inputs to the shaking table to model seismic excitations.The resulting changes in the excess pore water pressure and acceleration response of the soil under horizontal earthquake are compared in this paper.Calculations of the anti-liquefaction shear stress and equivalent shearing stress during the earthquake,determination of the areas prone to liquefaction,and identification of the effect of the three-bucket jacket foundation on the soil liquefaction resistance were conducted by developing a soil-structure finite element model.The development law of the soil’s amplification effect on seismic acceleration and the seismic response of the foundation soil under various magnitude earthquake waves were also discussed.Results indicate that liquefying the soil inside the bucket of the foundation is more difficult than that outside the bucket during the excitation of seismic waves due to the large upper load and the restraint of the surrounding hoop.This finding confirms the advantages of the three-bucket jacket foundations in improving the liquefaction resistance of the soil inside the bucket.However,the confinement has a barely noticeable impact on the nearby soil outside the skirt.The phenomenon of soil liquefaction at the bottom of the skirt occurred earlier than that in other positions during the seismic excitation,and the excess pore water pressure slowly dissipated.The acceleration amplification coefficient of the sand outside the bucket increases with depth,but that of the sand inside the bucket is substantially inhibited in the height range of the bucket foundation.This result proves the inhibition effects of the three-bucket

Acquiring a comprehensive and accurate understanding of habitat preference is essential for species conservation and fishery management,especially for mobile species that migrate seasonally.Presence and absence data from field surveys are recommended when available due to their high reliability.Using field survey data,we investigated seasonal habitat suitability requirements for Tanaka's snailfish(Liparis tanakae)in the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea(BSYS)via a machine-learning method,random forests(RFs).Five environmental and biologically relevant variables(bottom temperature,bottom salinity,current velocity,depth and distance to shore)were used to build the ecological niches between the presence/absence data and suitable habitat.In addition,the degree to which false absence data might impact model performance was evaluated.Our results indicated that RFs provided accurate predictions,with seasonal habitat suitability maps of L.tanakae differing substantially.Bottom temperature and salinity were identified as important factors influencing the distribution of L.tanakae.False absence data were found to have negative effects on model performance and the decrease in evaluation metrics was usually significant(P<0.05)after 30%or more errors were added to the absence data.Through identifying highly suitable areas within its geographic range,our study provides a baseline for L.tanakae that can be further applied in ecosystem modelling and fishery management in the BSYS.

Numerical investigation of non-spherical particle deposition characteristics on filter media

In the building environment,PM2.5 seriously affects people’s health and quality of life,so it is necessary to study the particle deposition characteristics.In addition,it is essential for a thorough investigation of the dust removal mechanism to understand the non-spherical particles deposition characteristics.The stacking angle experiment was used to calibrate the discrete element simulation parameters.And four simulation methods(CFD-DPM,CFD-DEM,API interface loading drag model based on EDEM software and EDEM simulation)were used to numerically simulate the non-spherical particles deposition characteristics.The optimal simulation method EDEM was applied to study the non-spherical particles deposition characteristics in filter media,which saves the calculation time obviously.On this basis,the particle parameters on the particle deposition characteristics of filter media were investigated.The results show that the deposition rate of non-spherical(special shape)particles with the same volume is basically consistent on the filter media,hence it is more realistic that the dust actual shape is simplified into the triangular-shaped particles.As the particle size increases,the number of deposited particles on the filter media decreases.And the larger the particle size,the more dispersed the distribution.It has a significant impact on the number of particles deposited on the filter media when the particle velocity is 0.1 m/s.The particle deposits to the lower part of the filter media in the form of a parabola and deviates from the outlet seriously at 0.1 m/s.Moreover,it has little effect on the number of particle deposition at the other velocities,and most particles are deposited on the upper part of the filter media with the increase of particle velocity.

Differential Splicing of Skipped Exons Predicts Drug Response in Cancer Cell Lines

Alternative splicing of pre-mRNA transcripts is an important regulatory mechanism that increases the diversity of gene products in eukaryotes.Various studies have linked specific transcript isoforms to altered drug response in cancer;however,few algorithms have incorporated splicing information into drug response prediction.In this study,we evaluated whether basal-level splicing information could be used to predict drug sensitivity by constructing doxorubicin-sensitivity classification models with splicing and expression data.We detailed splicing differences between sensitive and resistant cell lines by implementing quasi-binomial generalized linear modeling(QBGLM)and found altered inclusion of 277 skipped exons.We additionally conducted RNA-binding protein(RBP)binding motif enrichment and differential ex-pression analysis to characterize cis-and trans-acting elements that potentially influence doxorubicin response-mediating splicing alterations.Our results showed that a classification model built with skipped exon data exhibited strong predictive power.We discovered an association between differentially spliced events and epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)and observed motif enrichment,as well as differential expression of RBFOX and ELAVL RBP family members.Our work demonstrates the potential of incorporating splicing data into drug response algorithms and the utility of a QBGLM approach for fast,scalable identification of relevant splicing differences between large groups of samples.
