Tetralogy of Fallot(TOF)with total anomalous pulmonary vein connections(TAPVC)is a rare type of complex congenital heart disease among all TOF ***-presentation of major aortopulmonary collateral arteries(MAPCAs)compensates for the lack of central pulmonary bloodﬂow and decreases the severity of right-to-left shunting in *** present a case of a 2-year-old child with complex diagnoses of TOF,TAPVC,a large secun-dum atrial septal defect(ASD),and intraoperatively identiﬁed *** underwent surgery to repair the TAPVC,valve-sparing reconstruction of the right ventricular outﬂow tract,interventricular defect closure,and the creation of patent foramen ovale(PFO).After the operation,hemodynamic instability happened along with sudden blood pressure drop,desaturation,and increased central venous pressure,which subsided after adminis-tering inhalational nitric oxide(NO).A postoperative pulmonary hypertension crisis was suggested when the patient experienced recurrent symptoms after the termination of ***ﬁndings of a D-shaped left ventricle(LV),right-to-left PFO shunt and high tricuspid valve gradientﬁrmly established the *** was subsequently managed with continuous NO inhalation and sildenaﬁl,which rendered a satisfactory *** TOF and TAPVC could be at particular risk of developing pulmonary hypertension crisis,especially in the presence of MAPCAs due to possible remodeling of the pulmonary ***,a relatively non-compliant LV function and small left atrial size may exacerbate the risk of developing postcapillary pulmonary hypertension after TAPVC repair.A successful postoperative outcome calls for a meticulous preoperative analysis of the anatomical lesions,as well as careful monitoring.

The knowledge, attitude, practice and predictors of complementary and alternative medicine use among type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in Indonesia

Objective: The prevalence of complementary and alternative medicine(CAM) usage among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) in Indonesia is high. However, to date, little is known about why Indonesian T2DM patients choose CAM therapies, how their knowledge, attitude and practice(KAP) of CAM affects their choices, or how demographics correlate with patient choices. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the KAP and predictors of CAM usage in T2DM patients in ***: This was an observational, cross-sectional study. Patients were interviewed using a questionnaire. Chi-square tests or Fisher’s exact tests were used to compare demographic and clinical data, as well as KAP assessments, between T2DM patients who use and do not use CAM. Multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to investigate predictors of CAM ***: A total of 628 T2DM patients were enrolled in the study. CAM therapies were used by 341 patients(54.3%). The most common therapies were herbs and spiritual healing, used by 100.0% and 68.3% of CAM-using patients, respectively. CAM therapies were frequently recommended by family members(91.5%), and CAM users had significantly more knowledge and more positive attitudes toward CAM therapies than nonusers. Among users, 66% said they would not follow their healthcare providers’ instructions to not use CAM therapies, and 69.5% said they would not disclose their plan to use CAM therapies with their healthcare provider. Neither demographic nor clinical characteristics were associated with CAM use. The factors that best predicted the use of CAM therapies were their availability and low cost(odds ratio [OR] = 4.59;95% confidence interval [CI]: 3.01–7.01), the belief that CAM therapies were safe(OR = 2.04;95% CI: 1.40–2.95), the belief that CAM therapies could help with diabetes control(OR = 1.75;95% CI: 1.15–2.66), and the belief that CAM therapies could help maintain physical health(OR = 1.68;95% CI: 1.13–2.49).Conclusion: CAM the

Identification of antigenic proteins from salivary glands of female Anopheles maculatus by proteomic analysis

Objective: To identify antigenic proteins from the salivary glands of female Anopheles maculatus using a proteomic approach to find the biomarker candidate for serological ***: The identification of antigenic proteins of Anopheles maculatus salivary gland used these techniques: one-dimensional gel electrophoresis(sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis), western blot, and liquid chromatography–mass ***: The proteins that have molecular weight(MW) 43 and 34 k Da were the antigenic protein. Computational bioinformatic analysis by Mascot Server revealed seven novel hypothetical proteins(MW: 43 k Da) and two novel hypothetical proteins(MW:34 k Da). Further analysis(BLASTP, antigenicity, epitope mapping, and specificity analysis) showed that two novel proteins were identified as apolipoprotein D and cathepsin D in Anopheles ***: The identified proteins are potential to be developed as a biomarker of mosquito bite's exposure.

Site condition and bedrock depth play important roles in the determination of peak surface acceleration(PSA)values by earthquake *** soil parameters of shear wave velocity(Vs)and standard penetration test-number(N)value for Jakarta city are available up to 100 m below the Earth’s surface even though the typical depths to bedrock are in excess of 100 *** study referred to the base motion peak ground acceleration(PGA)values of 0.100 g,0.218 g and 0.378 g to predict the PSA values using the Nonlinear Earthquake site Response Analysis(NERA)to analyse a simulated dataset for the bedrock depths of 100 m,200 m,300 m,400 m and 500 m with conditioned by clayey and sandy soils.A new empirical equation of Vs=102.48 N0.297(m/s)was proposed to calculate the values of Vsused as an input parameter in the NERA programme for the prediction of seismic wave *** results showed that the PSA values are dependent on the amplitude of seismic waves,depths of bedrock and the local site *** in the PSA values from 41.0%to 51.5%and from 46.1%to 79.8%for the bedrocks overlain by sand,from 20.0%to 42.1%and from 45.9%to 58.8%for the bedrocks overlain by clay with increasing of bedrock depths from 200 m to 300 m and from 400 m to 500 m,respectively,were predicted for a 2500-year return period *** in the PSA values by 41.0%,51.5%,46.1%,79.8%for the bedrocks overlain by sand and by 20.0%,42.1%,45.9%,58.8%for the bedrocks overlain by clay were predicted for a 2500-year return period earthquake due to the bedrock depth changes of 200 m,300 m,400 m,500 ***-magnitude earthquake of Jakarta city has a significant effect on an increase or a decrease of the PSA value with depth of bedrock and may cause the vibration damage to buildings and other constructions on the *** analysis of the PSA value and PSA ratio influenced by the PGA value,bedrock depth and local soil conditions will make a contribution to the design of earthquake-safe building f

Solvent Extraction of Nickel and Cobalt from Ammonia-Ammonium Carbonate Solution by Using LIX 84-ICNS

In the present paper, separation of nickel and cobalt in ammonia-ammonium carbonate solution that simulates pregnant leach solution of Caron Process by solvent extraction using LIX 84-ICNS was studied. LIX 84-ICNS is a novel extractant which is still being studied, especially for nickel and cobalt separation in ammonia-ammonium carbonate solution. A series of solvent extraction tests were performed at various equilibrium pH, temperature, extractant concentration, and volume ratio of organic to aqueous solution (O/A ratio). The investigation results show that the highest nickel and cobalt extraction percentages of 99.8% and 90.3% were obtained from the extraction test at equilibrium pH of 8.75, temperature of 55°C, extractant concentration of 40% (v/v) and O/A ratio of 1/1, respectively. Oxidation of cobalt in aqueous solution prior to extraction is needed to minimize co-extraction of cobalt. Co-extracted cobalt can be decreased from 90.3% to 30.3% by mixing 1% (v/v) H2O22 in aqueous solution prior to the extraction stage. It was found that nickel and cobalt extractions by LIX 84-ICNS are endothermic processes with enthalpy changes of +171.03 and +7.64 kJ/mole, respectively. Based on constructed McCabe-Thiele Diagram, nickel extraction level of more than 99.9% can be obtained in 2 stages at O/A ratio of 0.5. The highest stripping percentages of nickel and cobalt of 98.82% and 3.16% respectively were obtained at 200 g/l H2SO4 stripping agent.

Nursing students’knowledge and attitude toward diabetic ulcer care and their contributing factors in Indonesia

Objective:The prevalence of diabetic foot ulcer in Indonesia is far greater than the global *** students are expected to have good knowledge and positive attitudes regarding diabetic ulcer care in order to deliver high-quality wound care during clinical *** study aimed to assess nursing students’knowledge and attitudes toward diabetic ulcer care and to investigate the factors related to ***:A cross-sectional study was conducted on 396 academic and clinical phases in three nursing schools in Indonesia from September 2021 to February *** completed a survey including a questionnaire about knowledge and attitudes regarding diabetic ulcer *** data were analyzed using a Chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression ***:The results show that 43.2%(171/396)of nursing students had inadequate knowledge of diabetic ulcer ***,88.9%(352/396)had a favorable attitude toward the *** students lacked knowledge about the characteristics of diabetic ulcers,diabetic neuropathy,wound infection,and adjunctive therapy for diabetic ulcers,and many of them believe that diabetic ulcer care is too timeconsuming to carry *** in the clinical phase of their studies had significantly better knowledge than those in the academic phase(aOR=9.99,95%CI 4.96e20.08,P<0.001).Male nursing students were significantly less likely to have positive attitude toward the topic than female students(aOR=0.42,95%CI 0.19e0.96,P=0.048),and students accustomed to sharing with peers as a source of knowledge had better attitudes than those who were not(aOR=2.76,95%CI 1.40e5.41,P=0.003).Conclusion:Findings show that almost half of the nursing students have insufficient knowledge of diabetic ulcer *** developers and educators need to improve the curriculum regarding diabetic wound care and provide strategic programs to improve students’knowledge and attitudes based on the factors discovered in this study.
