The regulation of the basic properties of atom-economic catalysts at the atomic scale and atomic-level insights into the underlying mechanism of catalysis are less explored. We engineer the surface of vertical immobilized MoS_(2) on dispersible TiO_(2) nanofibers via atomic subtraction to precisely manipulate active sites at the atomic level. The photocatalytic performances of TiO_(2) @MoS_(2) after H_(2) reduction towards the hydrogen production under visible light irradiation(>420 nm) are about 4 times that of TiO_(2) @MoS_(2) before H_(2) reduction. Importantly, the enhanced stability of TiO_(2) @MoS_(2) lasts for at least 30 h. Promising catalytic activity that is attributed to omnidirectional exposed active sites located defects, edges, corners that are transformed from the subtractive atomic sites could be exhumed comprehensively. This work will provide an intriguing and effective approach on tuning electronic structures for optimizing the catalytic activity at the atomic level by atom elimination strategy. To get rid of a few atomics on the surface of atomically-thin MoS_(2) nanosheet could be a prudent avenue for enabling the basal plane of MoS_(2) catalytically active.

Among more than 75 variants of microcystin （MC）, microcystin-LR （MC-LR） is one of the most common toxins. In this study, the feasibility of using Caenorhabditis elegans to evaluate MC-LR toxicity was studied. C. elegans was treated with MC-LR at different concentrations ranging from 0.1 to 80 μg/L. The results showed that MC-LR could reduce lifespan, delay development, lengthen generation time, decrease brood size, suppress locomotion behavior, and decreases hsp-16-2-gfp expression. The endpoints of generation time, brood size, and percentage of the population expressing hsp-16-2-gfp were very sensitive to 1.0μg/L of MC-LR, and would be more useful for the evaluation of MC-LR toxicity. Furthermore, the tissue-specific hsp-16-2-gfp expressions were investigated in MC-LR-exposed animals, and the nervous system and intestine were primarily affected by MC-LR. Therefore, the generation time, brood size, and hsp-16-2-gfp expression in C. elegans can be explored to serve as valuable endpoints for evaluating the potential toxicity from MC-LR exposure.

Based on experimental data, a nonlinear model about tensile strength and technical parameters such as Mn and St content, finishing rolling speed and finishing rolling temperature for deformed steel bars in the process of hot rolling was established by using artificial neural networks. The model can be optimized with a genetic algorithm. The optimum rolling parameters were obtained.

Recombinant eucaryotic expression vector pLXSN/s-bcl-2 has been constructed by cloning human bcl-2 cDNA containing the full-length open reading frame into the vector pLXSN in sense orientation, and a mammalian cell model expressing human bcl-2 protein has been established by electroporating the recombinant vector into mouse L929 cells. bcl-2 expression in L929 cells has no effect on the cell growth and survival under normal culture conditions, but it can enhance the survival of the cell in the challenge of some apoptosis-inducing stimuli, including tumor necrosis factor α(TNF α) and staurosporine (STS).

Using first-principles calculations based on density functional theory(DFT),we investigate the potential hydrogen storage capacity of the Na-decorated net-Y single layer *** double-side Na decoration,the average binding energy is 1.54 eV,which is much larger than the cohesive energy of 1.13 eV for bulk Na.A maximum of four H2 molecules can be adsorbed around each Na with average adsorption energies of 0.25–0.32 eV/***,H2 storage gravimetric of 8.85 wt%is obtained,and this meets the *** of Energy(DOE)ultimate *** results are instrumental in seeking a promising hydrogen energy carrier.

为了对船舶航行姿态进行准确预测,基于极限梯度提升(e Xtreme Gradient Boosting,XGBoost)模型建立多重因素与船舶横摇运动间的非线性映射关系,采用沙普利可加性特征解释方法(Shapley Additive Explanations,SHAP)方法对预测结果的可解释性进行解译。结果表明,XGBoost模型对横摇角具有很好的学习能力和预测能力,训练集和测试集的决定系数均超过0.95;时间、航速、阻尼为船舶横摇角的主要影响因素,水面线系数和吃水深度为船舶横摇角的次要影响因素。研究成果可为船舶运动行为预测以及船舶运行稳定性提高提供一定参考。

Trehalose is expected to be an alternative for toxic glycerol as a biocompatible cryoprotectant of red blood cells(RBCs).In this work,γ-poly(glutamic acid)(PGA)is modified by grafting hydrophobic phenethylamine,3,4-dimethoxyphenylethylamine and dodecylamine,*** graft-modified PGA can significantly enhance cryosurvival of RBCs in combination with *** of dynamic light scattering,hemolysis assay,atomic force microscope and confocal laser scanning microscope suggest that the modified PGA polymers can self-assemble into nanoparticles in phosphate buffer saline solutions at the pH range of 6.0–7.4,and exhibit membrane-disruptive activity due to hydrogen bond,conjugation and hydrophobic interactions with cell *** is assumed that the modified PGA polymers can improve the cryosurvival of RBCs by promoting membrane permeability of *** the three graft-modified polymers,phenethylamine-grafted PGA(PGA-g-PEA)can significantly increase the intracellular trehalose-loading content to 11.3±2.4 m M at pH 7.4,much higher than the value0.17±0.66 m M when trehalose is used without any *** view of the aforementioned merit,the cryosurvival rate of sheep RBCs is increased to about 90%by incubation with 1.0 mg mL-1 PGA-g-PEA and 0.36 M *** vitro cell culture of L929 fibroblasts demonstrates low cytotoxicity of ***,hydrophobic PEA-modified PGA with enhanced intracellular trehalose-loading ability can be potentially applied in glycerol-free RBC cryopreservation or other related biomacromolecule delivery systems.

The development of polymeric optical materials with a higher refractive index,transparency in the visible spectrum region and easier processability is increasingly desirable for advanced optical applications such as microlenses,image sensors,and organic light-emitting *** acrylates have a low refractive index(around 1.50)which does not meet the high perfo rmance requirements of advanced optical *** this research,three novel acrylates were synthesized via a facile one-step approach and used to fabricate optical transparent *** of the polymers reveal good optical properties including high transparency(≥90%)in the visible spectrum region and high refractive index values(1.6363)at 550 ***,nanostructures of these acrylate polymers with various feature sizes including nanogratings and photonic crystals were successfully fabricated using nanoimprint *** results indicate that these acrylates can be used in a wide range of optical and optoelectronic devices where nanopatterned films with high refractive index and transparency are required.

Ceiling Degree of Polymerization for Brush Polymers Prepared via ROMP of Poly（tert-Butyl Acrylate） Macromonomers

Controlled preparation of brush polymers is important in the design of functional materials. In this study, poly（tert-butyl acrylate） macromonomers functionalized with norbornenyl end group（NB-PtBA） were synthesized via atom transfer radical polymerization in three different molecular weights, 2000（NB-PtBA-2k）, 3000（NB-PtBA-3k）, and 8000（NB-PtBA-8k）. Additionally, brush polymers with PtBA as side chains were synthesized via ring-opening metathesis polymerization（ROMP）. Kinetic studies on ROMP of NB-PtBA showed that there was a ceiling degree of polymerization（CDP） for the brush polymers, beyond which the polymerization of NB-PtBA was out of control. For brush polymers of P[NB-PtBA-2k] and P[NB-PtBA-3k], CDPs were estimated to be ca. 400, but the value of P[NB-PtBA-8k] was ca. 100. Therefore, the controlled ROMP of brush polymers was critical at the CDP limit with increased macromonomer molecular weight.
