Large and anisotropic linear magnetoresistance in bulk stoichiometric Cd_3As_2 crystals

Cd3As2 was recently identified as a novel three-dimensional （3D） topological semimetal hosting the long-pursuing 3D Dirac Fermion. Crystals of Cd3As2 grown preferentially along the [100] and [112] directions were obtained through the modified chemical vapor transfer growth method, thus allowing the examination of transport anisotropy. The resistivity and magnetore- sistance （MR） are basically linear with respect to magnetic field （H） in the measured temperature range of 2-300 K irrespective of the directions. The linear resistivity and MR are significantly anisotropic not only along [100] and [112] directions but also with respect to tilt angle between the growth directions and H, thus providing transport signatures of the 3D Dirac Fermion as well as the possible linear and anisotropic change of Weyl Fermi surface in H. Very large MR along the [100] direction is observed, even approaching 3100% at 2 K and 14 kOe （10e = 79.5775 A m^-l）. The results would be helpful in renewing interest in studying emergent phenomena arising from bulk 3D Dirac Fermion as well as in paving the way for Cd3As2 to be used in magnetoelectronic sensors.

Meplazumab is an anti-CD147 humanized IgG2 *** purpose of this study was to characterize the nonclinical safety,tolerance and efficacy evaluation of meplazumab treating chloroquine resistant Plasmodium *** was well tolerated in repeat-dose toxicology studies in cynomolgus *** observed adverse effect level was 12 mg/*** difference between genders in the primary toxicokinetic parameters after repeat intravenous injection of *** increased levels of drug exposure and drug accumulation were observed in different gender and dose *** had a low cross-reactivity rate in various tissues and did not cause hemolysis or aggregation of red blood *** biodistribution and excretion results indicated that meplazumab was mainly distributed in the plasma,whole blood,and hemocytes,and excreted in the ***,meplazumab effectively inhibited the parasites from invading erythrocytes in humanized mice in a time-dependent manner and the efficacy is superior to that of *** these studies suggested that meplazumab is safe and well tolerated in cynomolgus monkeys,and effectively inhibits *** from invading into human red blood *** nonclinical data facilitated the initiation of an ongoing clinical trial of meplazumab for antimalarial therapy.

High quality single crystal CaFe4As3 was grown by using the Sn flux method. Unlike layered CaFe2As2, CaFe4As3 crystallizes in an orthorhombic three-dimensional structure. Two magnetic ordering transitions are observed at - 90 K and - 27 K, respectively. The high temperature transition is an antiferromagnetic（AF） ordering transition. However, the low temperature transition shows complex properties. It shows a ferromagnetic-like transition when a field is applied along b-axis, while antiferromagnetism-like transition when a field is applied perpendicular to b-axis. These results suggest that the low temperature transition at 27 K is a first-order transition from an AF state to a canted AF state. In addition, the low temperature electron specific heat coefficient reaches as high as 143 mJ/mol.K2, showing a heavy fermion behavior.

AIM： TO investigate the distribution of beta-catenin in nuclei or membrane/cytoplasm of gastric carcinoma cells, the relationship between E-cadherin gene methylation and its expression, and the role of beta-catenin and E-cadherin as potential molecular markers in predicting tumor infiltration. METHODS： Twenty-nine cases of gastric carcinoma, classified as diffuse and intestinal variants, were selected for study. Nuclear and cytoplasmic proteins were purified and beta-catenin content was detected by ELISA. DNA methylation of E-cadherin/CDH1 gene promoter was studied by methylation-specific PCR and compaired with E-cadherin expression detected by immunohistochemistry. RESULTS： In 27 cases of gastric carcinoma, the ratio of beta-catenin content between nuclei and membrane/ cytoplasm was correlated with the T-classification （r = 0.392, P = 0.043）. The significance was present between T2 and T3 groups. No correlation was detected between diffuse and intestinal variants in terms of their betacatenin distribution. In 21 cases of diffuse variants of gastric carcinoma, there was a difference in E-cadherin expression between CDH1 gene-methylated group and non-methylated group （29 % vs 71%, P = 0.027）. No correlation between CDH1 gene methylation and T-classification was found, neither was the significance between E-cadherin expression and tumor infiltration grade. CONCLUSION： Comparative analysis of nuclear and membrane/cytoplasmic beta-catenin can predict local tumor infiltration. E-cadherin/CDH1 gene methylation is an important cause for its gene silence in diffuse variant gastric carcinoma. Methylation of CDH1 gene in the absence of E-cadherin is an early event in gastric carcinogenesis.

Composition and structure of coatings on Ti-6Al-4V alloy by micro-plasma oxidation in NaAlO2 solution

Compound ceramic coatings on Ti-6Al-4V alloy were prepared for different time by pulsed bi-polar micro-plasma oxidation (MPO) in NaAlO2 solution. The phase composition was studied by XRD. And the electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS) of the coatings were measured to study the structure of the coatings, combined with the surface morphology. Using the proper EIS interpreting software, the "equivalent circuit" of the coatings was established, and meanwhile fitting values of equivalent element were obtained. The results show that the coating is composed of Al2 TiO5, α-Al2O3 and rutile TiO2, of which Al2 TiO5 is the main crystalline. Increasing the MPO time, the contents of Al2TiO5, rutile TiO2 and α-Al2O3 in the surface of the coating increase. And the EIS analysis and the surface morphology of the coatings illustrates the double-layer structure of the coatings, and the outer layer is loosen and the inner layer is compact. With the increase of the oxidizing time, the surface coarse degree of the coatings and the porosity of the outer layer of the coating are increased while the compactness of the inner layer of the coating is improved.

Report of incidence and mortality in China cancer registries, 2009

Objective： The National Central Cancer Registry （NCCR） collected cancer registration data in 2009 from local cancer registries in 2012, and analyzed to describe cancer incidence and mortality in China. Methods： On basis of the criteria of data quality from NCCR, data submitted from 104 registries were checked and evaluated. There were 72 registries＇ data qualified and accepted for cancer registry annual report in 2012. Descriptive analysis included incidence and mortality stratified by area （urban/rural）, sex, age group and cancer site. The top 10 common cancers in different groups, proportion and cumulative rates were also calculated. Chinese population census in 1982 and Segi＇s population were used for age-standardized incidence/mortality rates. Results： All 72 cancer registries covered a total of 85,470,522 population （57,489,009 in urban and 27,981,513 in rural areas）. The total new cancer incident cases and cancer deaths were 244,366 and 154,310, respectively. The morphology verified cases accounted for 67.23%, and 3.14% of incident cases only had information from death certifications. The crude incidence rate in Chinese cancer registration areas was 285.91/100,000 （males 317.97/100,000, females 253.09/100,000）, age-standardized incidence rates by Chinese standard population （ASIRC） and by world standard population （ASIRW） were 146.87/100,000 and 191.72/100,000 with the cumulative incidence rate （0-74 age years old） of 22.08%. The cancer incidence and ASIRC were 303.39/100,000 and 150.31/100,000 in urban areas whereas in rural areas, they were 249.98/100,000 and 139.68/100,000, respectively. The cancer mortality in Chinese cancer registration areas was 180.54/100,000 （224.20/100,000 in males and 135.85/100,000 in females）, age-standardized mortality rates by Chinese standard population （ASMRC） and by world standard population （ASMRW） were 85.06/100,000 and 115.65/100,000, and the cumulative incidence rate （0-74 age years old） was 12.94%.
