Osteoclastogenesis in alveolar bone induced by compression stress triggers orthodontic tooth movement.Compression stress also stimulates angiogenesis,which is essential for osteoclastogenesis.However,the effects of osteoclastogenesis induced by compression on angiogenesis are poorly understood.In vivo,we found the markers of angiogenesis increased during orthodontic bone remodeling.In vitro,osteoclast-derived exosomes increased proliferation,migration,and tube formation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs),as well as expression of vascular endothelial growth factor and CD31.The promotive effects of exosomes derived from compressed osteoclasts were greater than those derived from osteoclasts without compression.Next,we analyzed changes in the micro RNA transcriptome after compression stress and focused on micro RNA146 a-5 p(mi R-146 a),which was significantly decreased by compression.Transfection of an inhibitor of mi R-146 a stimulated angiogenesis of HUVECs while mi R-146 a mimics repressed angiogenesis.Adiponectin(ADP)was confirmed to be a target of mi R-146 a by dual luciferase reporter assay.In HUVECs treated with exosomes,we detected increased ADP which promoted angiogenesis.Knockdown of ADP in HUVECs reduced the promotive effects of exosomes.Our results demonstrate that the decreased mi R-146 a observed in osteoclasts after compression promotes angiogenesis by targeting ADP,suggesting a novel method to interfere with bone remodeling induced by compression stress.

Osteoporosis is a frequently occurring bone remodeling disorder worldwide with one characteristic being decreasing bone mineral density and a predisposition to bone fracture,which diminishes patients’quality of life.Several studies showed that imbalance between the osteogenesis and adipogenesis of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)took part in the development of osteoporosis.In previous study,we found MIR22HG regulated the osteogenesis of human BMSCs positively.In this study,we found that MIR22HG was decreased during the adipogenesis of human BMSCs and exerted negative effects on adipogenesis with the involvement of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway both in vitro and in vivo.Nitazoxanide could inhibit Wnt signaling and relieve MIR22HG’s suppression on adipogenesis.These findings indicated that MIR22HG had great potential in clinical application for osteoporosis treatment and prevention.

Orthodontic tooth movement is triggered by orthodontic force loading on the periodontal ligament and is achieved by alveolar bone remodeling,which is regulated by intimate crosstalk between osteoclastogenesis and osteoblast differentiation.Whether the communication between osteoclasts and osteoblasts is influenced by orthodontic compression stress requires further clarification.In this study,osteoclasts were differentiated for 10 days.On day 4 of differentiation,the number of pre-osteoclasts peaked,as determined by the increased expression of RANK and the number of multinucleated cells.After 24 h of compression stress loading,on day 4,the number of osteoclasts increased,and the optimal magnitude of stress to promote osteoclastogenesis was determined as 1 g/cm2.Moreover,the results of RNA-sequencing analysis showed that the miRNA expression profile changed markedly after compression loading and that many of the altered miRNAs were associated with cell communication functions.A series of indirect co-culture experiments showed an inhibitory effect of osteoclasts on osteoblast differentiation,especially after compression.Next,we added osteoclast-derived exosomes to hPDLSCs during osteoblast differentiation.Exosomes derived from osteoclasts under compression(cEXO)showed a greater inhibitory effect on osteoblast differentiation,compared to exosomes from osteoclasts without compression(EXO).Therefore,we analyzed differentially expressed miRNAs associated with bone development functions in exosomes:miR-223-5p and miR-181a-5p were downregulated,whereas miR-133a-3p,miR-203a-3p,miR-106a-5p,and miR-331-3p were upregulated;these altered expressions may explain the enhanced inhibitory effect of compression stress.

Labor protection increases employees’stability and strengthens their monitoring role,improving firms’information environment and increasing analysts’earnings forecast accuracy.Using the implementation of China’s Labor Contract Law as a quasi-natural experiment,we find that labor protection significantly improves analyst forecasts.This positive impact is stronger when agency problems are weaker,board independence is greater,corporate reputation is better and industry competition is more intense.Enhanced labor protection significantly reduces firms’business risk and accrual-based earnings management,decreases stock price synchronicity and increases market pricing efficiency.Our findings of significant impacts of China’s Labor Contract Law on analysts’forecasting behaviors offer important guidance for promoting the development of the Chinese capital market and policy making in labor protection.

The clinical translation of stem cells and their extracellular vesicles(EVs)-based therapy for central nervous system(CNS) diseases is booming. Nevertheless, the insufficient CNS delivery and retention together with the invasiveness of current administration routes prevent stem cells or EVs from fully exerting their clinical therapeutic potential. Intranasal(IN) delivery is a possible strategy to solve problems as IN route could circumvent the brain-blood barrier non-invasively and fit repeated dosage regimens. Herein, we gave an overview of studies and clinical trials involved with IN route and discussed the possibility of employing IN delivery to solve problems in stem cells or EVs-based therapy. We reviewed relevant researches that combining stem cells or EVs-based therapy with IN administration and analyzed benefits brought by IN route. Finally, we proposed possible suggestions to facilitate the development of IN delivery of stem cells or EVs.

Passive detection of moving target is an important part of intelligent surveillance. Satellite has the potential to play a key role in many applications of space-air-ground integrated networks(SAGIN). In this paper, we propose a novel intelligent passive detection method for aerial target based on reservoir computing networks. Specifically, delayed feedback networks are utilized to refine the direct signals from the satellite in the reference channels. In addition, the satellite direct wave interference in the monitoring channels adopts adaptive interference suppression using the minimum mean square error filter. Furthermore, we employ decoupling echo state networks to predict the clutter interference in the monitoring channels and construct the detection statistics accordingly. Finally, a multilayer perceptron is adopted to detect the echo signal after interference suppression. Extensive simulations is conducted to evaluate the performance of our proposed method. Results show that the detection probability is almost 100% when the signal-to-interference ratio of echo signal is-36 dB, which demonstrates that our proposed method achieves efficient passive detection for aerial targets in typical SAGIN scenarios.

We present a new variant of penalty method, which is different from the existing penalty methods, for solving the weak linear bilevel programming problems. We then transform it into a single-level optimization problem using Kuhn-Tucker optimality condition and discuss the relations between them. Finally, two examples are used to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed penalty method.

Most real-world optimization problems are hierarchical involving non-cooperative objectives. Many of these problems can be formulated in terms of the first（upper level） objective function being minimized over the solution set mapping of the second（lower level） optimization problem. Often the upper level decision maker is risk-averse. The resulting class of problem is named weak bilevel programming problem. This paper presents a new algorithm which embeds a penalty function method into a branch and bound algorithm to deal with a weak linear bilevel programming problem. An example illustrates the feasibility of the proposed algorithm.

Characteristics of soil organic carbon andtotal nitrogen storages for differentland-use types in Central Yunnan Plateau

Two-factor analysis of variance and redundancy analysis were used to analyze the characte-ristics of soil organic carbon total nitrogen storage in garden land,forestland,grassland,farmland,and bare land in the Dachunhe watershed of Jinning District,Kunming City,Yunnan Province,China.The effects of the soil organic carbon,total nitrogen stratification ratio,soil physical and chemical factors on the storage characteristics of organic carbon and total nitrogen of different land-use types were analyzed.The results show that the rates of carbon and nitrogen stratification in soil from 0-20 cm and 40-60 cm of the same land-use types differed are statistically significant(P<0.05).The organic carbon and total nitrogen stratification ratio SR1 of garden land soil are 38.5%and 25.3%,respectively,which are higher than SR^(2).The soil organic carbon and total nitrogen stratification ratio SR^(2) of different land-use types are greater than SR1.There are statistically significant differences in the SR^(2) soil organic carbon and total nitrogen stratification ratios(P<0.05).Soil organic carbon and total nitrogen storage of diffe-rent land-use types gradually decrease with increasing soil depth,with the maximum soil organic carbon and total nitrogen storage in the 0-20 cm soil layer.Soil organic carbon and total nitrogen sto-rage at the same soil depth are significantly different(P<0.05).Soil organic carbon and total nitrogen storage in the garden land are greater than those in the other land-use types.Soil organic carbon and total nitrogen storage in 0-20 cm garden land are 4.96 and 3.19 times than those in bare land,respectively;soil organic carbon and total nitrogen storage are explained by 93.66%and 1.53%in redundancy analysis RDA1 and RDA2,respectively.All physicochemical factors except Available Phosphorus and pH are statistically significance with carbon and nitrogen storage(P<0.05).Soil cationic exchange capacity,Available Phosphorus,C/N ratio,and Moisture Content are positively correlated with organic carbon and total

Deep Convective Clouds over the Northern Pacific and Their Relationship with Oceanic Cyclones

Based on combined CloudSat/CALIPSO detections, the seasonal occurrence of deep convective clouds （DCCs） over the midlatitude North Pacific （NP） and cyclonic activity in winter were compared. In winter, DCCs are more frequent over the central NP, from approximately 30~N to 45~N, than over other regions. The high frequencies are roughly equal to those occurring in this region in summer. Most of these DCCs have cloud tops above a 12 km altitude, and the highest top is approximately 15 km. These wintertime marine DCCs commonly occur during surface circulation conditions of low pressure, high temperature, strong meridional wind, and high relative humidity. Further, the maximum probability of DCCs, according to the high correlation coefficient, was found in the region 10^-20~ east and 5^-10~ south of the center of the cyclones. The potential relationship between DCCs and cyclones regarding their relative locations and circulation conditions was also identified by a case study. Deep clouds were generated in the warm conveyor belt by strong updrafts from baroclinic flows. The updrafts intensified when latent heat was released during the adjustment of the cyclone circulation current. This indicates that the dynamics of cyclones are the primary energy source for DCCs over the NP in winter.
