BACKGROUND Appendiceal intussusception is a pathological condition in which the appendix is inverted into the cecum,which may cause symptoms that resemble those of other gastrointestinal disorders and may induce intestinal *** rarity of this case presentation is the co-occurrence of appendiceal intussusception and cecal adenocarcinoma,a combination that to our knowledge has not previously been reported in the medical *** case provides new insights into the complexities of diagnos.ng and managing overlapping *** sUMMARY A 25-year-old woman presented with persistent periumbilical pain and bloody *** initial biopsy showed cecal cancer;however,subsequent colonoscopy and computed tomography findings raised the suspicion of appendiceal intussus-ception,which was later confirmed *** unique case was charac-terized by a combination of intussusception and adenocarcinoma of the *** intervention included a laparoscopic right hemicolectomy,which led to the histopathological diagnosis of mucinous adenocarcinoma with appendiceal *** patient recovered well postoperatively and was advised to initiate adjuvant *** case highlights not only the importance of considering appendiceal intussusception in the differential diagnosis,but also the possibility of appendicitis and the atypical presentation of neoplastic *** Physicians should consider the possibility of appendiceal intussusception in cases of atypical appendicitis,particularly when associated with neoplastic presentation.

BACKGROUND To retrospectively report the safety and efficacy of renal transcatheter arterial embolization for treating autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease(ADPKD)patients with gross *** sUMMARY The purpose of this study is to retrospectively report the safety and efficacy of renal transcatheter arterial embolization for treating ADPKD patients with gross *** and methods:During the period from January 2018 to December 2019,renal transcatheter arterial embolization was carried out on 6 patients with polycystic kidneys and gross *** arteriography was performed first,and then we determined the location of the hemorrhage and performed embolization under digital subtraction angiography *** in routine blood test results,routine urine test results,urine color and postoperative reactions were observed and ***:Renal transcatheter arterial embolization was successfully conducted in 6 *** indices of 5 patients and the color of gross hematuria improved after surgery compared with before *** severe complication reactions *** For autosomal dominant polycystic kidney syndrome patients with gross hematuria,transcatheter arterial embolization was safe and effective.

in this paper,we consider the clustering of bivariate functional data where each random surface consists of a set of curves recorded repeatedly for each *** k-centres surface clustering method based on marginal functional principal component analysis is proposed for the bivariate functional data,and a novel clustering criterion is presented where both the random surface and its partial derivative function in two directions are *** addition,we also consider two other clustering methods,k-centres surface clustering methods based on product functional principal component analysis or double functional principal component *** results indicate that the proposed methods have a nice performance in terms of both the correct classification rate and the adjusted rand *** approaches are further illustrated through empirical analysis of human mortality data.

1 introduction Under real-world haze conditions,the existence of haze particles in the atmosphere reduces the visibility of captured ***,the noise is inevitably introduced into the degraded image,which further deteriorates the visual quality of the *** enhance the visibility and quality of outdoor real-world hazy images,numerous algorithms have been proposed to remove haze from a s.ngle input *** existing methods are broadly lumped into two categories:prior-based methods[1,2]and learning-based methods[3–6].Unfortunately,the widely used atmospheric scattering model and the corresponding haze removal methods fail to take the noise interference into account,which may result in poor visibility restoration performance.

Health risks of pest control and disinfection workers after the COViD-19 outbreak in south Korea

The exposure patterns of pest control and disinfection workers have changed after the coronavirus disease 2019(COViD-19)outbreak,but the health risks of chemical exposure have not been *** identified these workers’chemical exposure patterns and risks before and after the COViD-19 *** used data conducted between 2018(pre-pandemic)and 2021(post-pandemic)from three-year cross-sectional surveys on pest control and disinfection *** and dermal exposure concentrations were estimated us.ng equations based on a biocidal product risk assessment model from the Korean National institute of Environmental *** non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic risks of chemicals were calculated us.ng the United states Environmental Protection Agency risk assessment *** found that the annual work frequency(50^(th)percentile)of foggers us.ng disinfectants increased the most among all the work types,from 140 uses/year to 176 uses/year after the COViD-19 ***,all chemicals’non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic risks increased regardless of exposure *** the worst scenario(95^(th)percentile),the margin of exposure for citric acid,benzethonium chloride,benzyl-C12-16-alkyldimethyl chlorides,and sodium chlorite of inhalation exposure,and isopropyl alcohol and benzyl-C12-16-alkyldimethyl chlorides of dermal exposure were acceptable(>100)before the COViD-19outbreak but became unacceptable(iD-19 *** risks of dichlorvos from inhalation and dermal exposure were above acceptable levels(>10^(-6))before and after the COViD-19 outbreak but comparatively high after the COViD-19 ***,significantly more workers experienced health symptoms after the COViD-19outbreak(pith the most common being muscle lethargy(31%),skin/face stinging(28.7%),and breath shortness/neck pain(24.1%).

We aim to evaluate prostate health index as an additional risk-stratification tool in patients with Prostate imaging Reporting and Data system score 3 lesions on multiparametric magnetic resonance *** with biochemical or clinical suspicion of having prostate cancer who underwent multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging in two tertiary centers(Queen Mary Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital,Hong Kong,china)between January 2017 and June 2022 were ***-magnetic resonance imaging fusion biopsies were performed after prostate health index *** who only had Prostate imaging Reporting and Data system score 3 lesions were further stratified into four prostate health index risk groups and the cancer detection rates were *** of the 747 patients,47.3%had Prostate imaging Reporting and Data system score 3 lesions *** detection rate of clinically significant prostate cancer in this group was 15.0%.The cancer detection rates of clinically significant prostate cancer had statistically significant differences:5.3%in prostate health indexin prostate health index 25.0-34.9,17.9%in prostate health index 35.0-54.9,and 52.6%in prostate health index≥55.0(Png the patients,26.9%could have avoided a biopsy with a prostate health indexse of a 5.3%risk of miss.ng clinically significant prostate *** health index could be used as an additional risk stratification tool for patients with Prostate imaging Reporting and Data system score 3 *** could be avoided in patients with low prostate health index,with a small risk of miss.ng clinically significant prostate cancer.
