Individualized treatment of prostate cancer depends on an accurate stratification of patients who are sensitive to various ***-23(IL-23)was reported to play a significant role in prostate ***,we aimed to explore the clinical value of IL-23-secreting(IL-23^(+))cells in prostate cancer *** evaluated interleukin-23A(IL-23A)expression in The Cancer Genome Atlas database and retrospectively enrolled 179 treatment-naive metastatic prostate cancer patients diagnosed in our institute between June 2012 and December ***-23^(+)cells were stained and evaluated via ***,survival and multivariate Cox regression analyses were conducted to explore the prognostic value of IL-23^(+)*** found that IL-23A expression correlated with disease progression,while IL-23^(+)cells were clearly stained within prostate cancer *** with higher Gleason scores and multiple metastatic lesions tended to have more IL-23^(+)cell *** analyses showed that patients with higher levels of IL-23^(+)cells had significantly worse overall survival(hazard ratio[HR]=2.996,95%confidence interval[95%CI]:1.812–4.955;P=0.001)and a higher risk of developing castration resistance(HR=2.725,95%CI:1.865–3.981;P=0.001).Moreover,subgroup analyses showed that when patients progressed to a castration-resistant status,the prognostic value of IL-23^(+)cells was observed only in patients treated with abiraterone instead of ***,we showed that high IL-23^(+)cell infiltration is an independent prognosticator in patients with metastatic prostate ***-23^(+)cell infiltration may correlate with abiraterone effectiveness in castration-resistant prostate cancer patients.

Abiraterone acetate is approved for the treatment of castration-resistant prostate cancer （CRPC）; however, its effects vary. An accurate prediction model to identify patient groups that will benefit from abiraterone treatment is therefore urgently required. The Chi model exhibits a good profile for risk classification, although its utility for the chemotherapy-naive group is unclear. This study aimed to externally validate the Chi model and develop a new nomogram to predict overall survival （OS）. We retrospectively analyzed a cohort of 110 patients. Patients were distributed among good-, intermediate-, and poor-risk groups, according to the Chi model. The good-, intermediate-, and poor-risk groups had a sample size of 59 （53.6%）, 34 （30.9%）, and 17 （15.5%） in our dataset, and a median OS of 48.4, 29.1, and 10.5 months, respectively. The C-index of external validation of Chi model was 0.726. Univariate and multivariate analyses identified low hemoglobin concentrations （〈110 g l^-1）, liver metastasis, and a short time interval from androgen deprivation therapy to abiraterone initiation （〈36 months） as predictors of OS. Accordingly, a new nomogram was developed with a C-index equal to 0.757 （95% CI, 0.678-0.836）. In conclusion, the Chi model predicted the prognosis of abiraterone-treated, chemotherapy-naive patients with mCRPC, and we developed a new nomogram to predict the overall survival of this group of patients with less parameters.

Wing dimorphism is regarded as an important phenotypic plasticity involved in the migration and reproduction of aphids. However, the signal transduction and regulatory mechanism of wing dimorphism in aphids are still unclear. Herein, the optimal environmental conditions were first explored for inducing winged offspring of green peach aphid, and the short photoperiod was the most important environmental cue to regulate wing dimorphism. Compared to 16 L:8 D photoperiod, the proportion of winged offspring increased to 90% under 8 L:16 D photoperiod. Subsequently, 5 differentially expressed microRNAs (miRNAs) in aphids treated with long and short photoperiods were identified using small RNA sequencing, and a novel miR-3040 was identified as a vital miRNA involved in photoperiod-mediated wing dimorphism. More specifically, the inhibition of miR-3040 expression could reduce the proportion of winged offspring induced by short photoperiod, whereas its activation increased the proportion of winged offspring under long photoperiod. Meanwhile, the expression level of miR-3040 in winged aphids was about 2.5 times that of wingless aphids, and the activation or inhibition of miR-3040 expression could cause wing deformity, revealing the dual-role regulator of miR-3040 in wing dimorphism and wing development. In summary, the current study identified the key environmental cue for wing dimorphism in green peach aphid, and the first to demonstrate the dual-role regulator of miR-3040 in photoperiod-mediated wing dimorphism and wing development.

BACKGROUND Esophageal stricture ranks among the most significant complications following endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD).Excessive fibrotic repair is a typical pathological feature leading to stenosis after *** To examine the effectiveness and underlying mechanism of Kangfuxin solution(KFX)in mitigating excessive fibrotic repair of the esophagus *** Pigs received KFX at 0.74 mL/kg/d for 21 days after esophageal full circumferential *** examinations occurred on days 7 and 21 *** vitro,recombinant transforming growth factor(TGF)-β1(5 ng/mL)induced a fibrotic microenvironment in primary esophageal fibroblasts(pEsF).After 24 hours of KFX treatment(at 1.5%,1%,and 0.5%),expression ofα-smooth muscle actin-2(ACTA2),fibronectin(FN),and type collagen I was *** signaling was analyzed,including TGF-β1,Smad2/3,and phosphor-smad2/3(p-Smad2/3).RESULTS Compared to the Control group,the groups treated with KFX and prednisolone exhibited reduced esophageal stenosis,lower weight loss rates,and improved food tolerance 21 d after *** treatment,Masson staining revealed thinner and less dense collagen fibers in the submucosal ***,the expression of fibrotic effector molecules was notably ***,KFX downregulated the transduction levels of fibrotic functional molecules such as TGF-β1,Smad2/3,and p-Smad2/*** vitro,pEsF exposed to TGF-β1-induced fibrotic microenvironment displayed increased fibrotic activity,which was reversed by KFX treatment,leading to reduced activation of ACTA2,FN,and collagen *** 1.5%KFX treatment group showed decreased expression of p-Smad 2/3 in TGF-β1-activated *** KFX showed promise as a therapeutic option for post-full circumferential esophageal ESD strictures,potentially by suppressing fibroblast fibrotic activity through modulation of the TGF-β1/Smads signaling pathway.

The quantum collision model provides a promising tool for investigating system-bath *** studies of quantum collision models,however,are in the resonant *** quantum dynamics,the off-resonant interactions often result in exciting ***,it is important to investigate the quantum collision models in the off-resonant regime.A bath with a negative absolute temperature is expected to be instrumental in the development of thermal *** design of an effective bath with negative absolute temperature coupled to a qubit is a significant component for developing such thermal *** this study,we establish an effective negative-absolute-temperature bath coupled to a qubit with a quantum collision model in the far-off-resonant *** conduct a detailed systematic investigation of the off-resonant collision model and determine the presence of an additional constraint on the collision duration resulting from the far-off resonant *** dynamics of the collision model in the far-off-resonant regime are different from those beyond the far-off-resonant *** simulations are used to confirm the validity of the proposed approach.
