Lithiophilic interface guided transient infiltration of molten lithium for stable 3D composite lithium anodes

Fabricating three-dimensional(3D)composite lithium anodes via thermal infusion effectively addresses uncontrollable Li deposition and large volume changes.However,potential risks due to the long wetting time and high melting point remain a critical yet unconsidered issue.Herein,we report a stable 3D composite Li anode by infusing molten Li into a 3D scaffold within 3 s at 220℃.The key-enabling technique is the growth of a lithiophilic Mg-Al double oxide(LDO)nanosheet array layer on the scaffold.The in-situ formed lithiophilic alloy,combined with the capillary forces from the nanosheet arrays,enabled the transient infiltration of molten Li.In addition,the formed high ionic-conductivity Li phase can help construct a robust solid electrolyte interphase(SEI),stabilize the Li anode/electrolyte interface,and guide uniform Li deposition.The 3D composite anode exhibited a long cycling life of 1,000 h under a current density of 1 mA·cm^(−2)and over 1,600 h under a current density of 2 mA·cm^(−2)with a high areal capacity of 4 mAh·cm^(−2)in Li/Li symmetric cells.The 3D composite anodes paired with high areal capacity LiFePO_(4)(LFP)and S cathodes demonstrate its practical application feasibility.

Acephalic spermatozoa syndrome(ASS)is one of the most severe spermatogenic failures of all infertility in men.The cognition of ASS has experienced a tortuous process.Over the past years,with the in-depth understanding of spermatogenesis and the emergence of new genetic research technologies,the unraveling of the genetic causes of spermatogenic failure has become highly active.From these advances,we established a genetic background and made significant progress in the discovery of the genetic causes of ASS.It is important to identify pathogenic genes and mutations in ASS to determine the biological reasons for the occurrence of the disease as well as provide genetic diagnosis and treatment strategies for patients with this syndrome.In this review,we enumerate various technological developments,which have made a positive contribution to the discovery of candidate genes for ASS from the past to the present.Simultaneously,we summarize the known genetic etiology of this phenotype and the clinical outcomes of treatments in the present.Furthermore,we propose perspectives for further study and application of genetic diagnosis and assisted reproductive treatment in the future.

The object detectors can precisely detect the camouflaged object beyond human perception.The investigations reveal that the CNNs-based(Convolution Neural Networks)detectors are vulnerable to adversarial attacks.Some works can fool detectors by crafting the adversarial camouflage attached to the object,leading to wrong prediction.It is hard for military operations to utilize the existing adversarial camouflage due to its conspicuous appearance.Motivated by this,this paper proposes the Dual Attribute Adversarial Camouflage(DAAC)for evading the detection by both detectors and humans.Generating DAAC includes two steps:(1)Extracting features from a specific type of scene to generate individual soldier digital camouflage;(2)Attaching the adversarial patch with scene features constraint to the individual soldier digital camouflage to generate the adversarial attribute of DAAC.The visual effects of the individual soldier digital camouflage and the adversarial patch will be improved after integrating with the scene features.Experiment results show that objects camouflaged by DAAC are well integrated with background and achieve visual concealment while remaining effective in fooling object detectors,thus evading the detections by both detectors and humans in the digital domain.This work can serve as the reference for crafting the adversarial camouflage in the physical world.

Quantum entanglement is regarded as one of the core concepts,which is used to describe the nonclassical correlation between subsystems,and entropic uncertainty relation plays a vital role in quantum precision measurement.It is well known that entanglement of formation can be expressed by von Neumann entropy of subsystems for arbitrary pure states.An interesting question is naturally raised:is there any intrinsic correlation between the entropic uncertainty relation and quantum entanglement?Or if the relation can be applied to estimate the entanglement.In this work,we focus on exploring the complementary relation between quantum entanglement and the entropic uncertainty relation.The results show that there exists an inequality relation between both of them for an arbitrary two-qubit system,and specifically the larger uncertainty will induce the weaker entanglement of the probed system,and vice versa.Besides,we use randomly generated states as illustrations to verify our results.Therefore,we claim that our observations might offer and support the validity of using the entropy uncertainty relation to estimate quantum entanglement.

To the Editor:Currently,there is no standardized treatment protocol for the pediatric anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor(NMDAR).There are two surveys by Kahn et al[1]and Bartolini et al[2]that aimed at determining the treatment strategies that are used for pediatric NMDAR encephalitis in other parts of the world rather than China.Bartolini et al[2]performed a worldwide survey involving 199 participants:61 adult neurologists,86 pediatric neurologists,and 52 pediatric rheumatologists.Their survey investigated the differences in anti-NMDAR encephalitis treatment strategies,according to medical specialty,years in practice,and geographical location.[2]The survey of Kahn et al[1]involved 151 pediatric neurologists and focused on identifying the indications for the initiation of immunotherapy,type of the used immunotherapy,length of the first-line immunotherapy,time for the initiation of the second-line immunotherapy,and the preferable options for the second-line immunotherapy.Additionally,they investigated the indications and time for adding a disease-modifying therapy,and how long should patients continue with the immunotherapy once returned to their neurologic baseline.[1]Both surveys did not sufficiently focus on identifying the utility of the modified Rankin Scale(mRS),dosages and duration of the treatments(including the duration of oral prednisone),the utility of Cluster of Differentiation 19 positive(CD19+)B cells in adjusting the dosages of rituximab,the necessity of long-term immunosuppressive treatment(for relapse prevention),and the indications for stopping the immunotherapy.

Movement and growth of dendrites are common phenomena during solidification.To numerically investigate these phenomena,two-phase flow model is employed to formulate the FSI(fluid-structure interaction)problem during dendritic solidification.In this model,solid is assumed to have huge viscosity to maintain its own shape and an exponential expression is constructed to describe variable viscosity across s-l(solid-liquid)interface.With an effective preconditioner for saddle point structure,we build a N-S(Navier-Stokes)solver robust to tremendous viscosity ratio(as large as 10^(10))between solid and liquid.Polycrystalline solidification is computed by vector-valued phase field model,which is computationally convenient to handle contact between dendrites.Locations of dendrites are updated by solving advection equations.Orientation change due to dendrite's rotation has been considered as well.Calculation is accelerated by two-level time stepping scheme,adaptive mesh refinement,and parallel computation.Settlement and growth of a single dendrite and multiple dendrites in Al-Cu alloy were simulated,showing the availability of the provided model to handle anisotropic growth,motion and impingement of dendrites.This study lays foundation to simulate solidification coupled with deformation in the future.

Challenges remain in imaging fast biological processes in vivo withfluorescence molecular tomography(FMT)due to the long data acquisition time.Data acquisition with limited projections can greatly reduce the time consumption,but the influence of limited-projection on reconstruction quality is currently unclear.Both numerical simulations and a phantom experiment are conducted to analyze this problem.Through a systematic investigation of all the results reconstructed from different numbers of projections,we evaluate the influence of limited-projection data on FMT.A mouse experiment is also performed to validate our work.A general relationship between the number of projections and reconstruction quality is obtained which indicates that the projection number of three is preferred for fast FMT experiment.

The effect of Mo and Al addition on the microstructure as well as creep rupture properties at760.C/850 MPa was investigated by transmission electron microscopy(TEM)in a Ni-based single-crystal(SC)alloy with the composition of Ni-6.5Al-8.0Mo-2.4Cr-6.2Ta-4.9Co-1.5Re-(0.01-0.05)Y(wt%).The microstructure analysis shows that 0.5 wt%Al addition induces rapid decrease in creep rupture life,and this can be attributed to the formation of dense stacking faults cutting intoγ'precipitates,which can be explained by the increase in Orowan stress caused by the narrowerγchannel width and the decrease in stacking faults energy.Besides,1.5 wt%Mo addition increases the anti-phase boundary energy and decreases the stacking faults energy,resulting in fewer stacking faults and thus a slight decrease in the creep rupture life.

Objective： To compare clinical characteristics between familial nasopharyngeal carcinomas（NPCs） and sporadic NPCs in Guangdong province, China, a high-risk area.Methods： Between 1991 and 2001, 993 NPC patients treated at the Cancer Center of Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangdong were randomly selected as probands. Information about NPC among the probands＇ relatives and other information were obtained from a retrospective review of the patients＇ medical records. The patients were divided into sporadic NPC, low-frequency familial NPC（one NPC patient in addition to the proband in three generations）, and high-frequency familial NPC（2 or more additional NPC patients in three generations） groups. Pathological and clinical characteristics were compared among these groups.Results： Of the 993 patients, 131（13.2%） had a familial history of NPC. The average age at diagnosis was the lowest in the high-frequency familial NPC group（39 years; P=0.048）. Although the overall survival（OS）, distant metastasis-free survival（DMFS）, and disease-free survival（DFS） rates did not differ between familial and sporadic NPCs, the locoregional recurrence-free survival（LRFS） rate increased in the order sporadic NPCs, low-frequency familial NPCs, and high-frequency familial NPCs（P=0.009）, with 5-year rates of 70%, 83%, and 87%, respectively. Multivariate analysis showed that family history of NPC was an independent favorable prognostic factor for LRFS, with adjusted hazard ratio（a HR） of 0.548, 95% CI（0.342-0.878）. The high LRFS for familial NPCs was mainly noted among young, advanced-stage patients who received continuous radiation treatment.Conclusions： Genetic factors may play an important role in the etiology of high-frequency familial NPC and underlie the early age of onset and sensitivity to radiotherapy.
