Solid-state reaction of a CaO−V_(2)O_(5)mixture:A fundamental study for the vanadium extraction process

The aim of this study was to investigate the phase transformation and kinetics of the solid-state reaction of CaO−V_(2)O_(5),which is the predominant binary mixture involved in the vanadium recovery *** analysis,X-ray diffraction spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy,and energy dispersive spectrometry were used to characterize the solid-state reaction of the *** extent of the solid reac-tion was derived using the preliminary quantitative phase analysis of the X-ray *** results indicate that the solid reaction of the CaO−V_(2)O_(5)mixture is strongly influenced by the reaction temperature and CaO/V_(2)O_(5)mole *** transformation of calcium vanadate in-volves a step-by-step reaction of CaO−V_(2)O_(5),CaO−CaV_(2)O_(6),and CaO−Ca_(2)V_(2)O7 depending on the CaO/V_(2)O_(5)mole *** kinetic data of the solid reaction of the CaO−V_(2)O_(5)(1:1)mixture followed a second-order reaction *** activation energy(Ea)and preexponential factor(A)were determined to be 145.38 kJ/mol,and 3.67×10^(8)min^(−1),respectively.

AIM To focus on procedure-related complications,evaluate their incidence,analyze the reasons and discuss the *** Overall,628 endoscopic gastric variceal obturation(EGVO) procedures(case-times) with NBC were performed in 519 patients in the Department of Endoscopy of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University from January 2011 to December 2016. The clinical data of patients and procedure-related complications of EGVO were retrospectively *** In the 628 EGVO procedures,sticking of the needle to the varix occurred in 9 cases(1.43%),including 1 case that used lipiodol-diluted NBC and 8 cases that used undiluted NBC(P = 0.000). The needle was successfully withdrawn in 8 cases. Large spurt bleeding occurred in one case,and hemostasis was achieved by two other injections of undiluted glue. The injection catheter became blocked in 17 cases(2.71%) just during the injection,and 4 cases were complicated with the needle sticking to the varix. Large glue adhesion to the endoscope resulted in difficulty withdrawing the endoscope in 1 case. Bleeding from multiple sites was observed in the esophagus and gastric cardia after the endoscope was withdrawn. Hemostasis was achieved by 1% aethoxysklerol injection and intravenous somatostatin. The ligation device stuck to the varices in two cases during the subsequent endoscopic variceal ligation. In one case,the ligation device was successfully separated from the esophageal varix after all bands were released. In another case,a laceration of the vein and massive bleeding were observed. The bleeding ceased after 1% aethoxysklerol *** Although EGVO with tissue glue is usually safe and effective,a series of complications can occur during the procedure that may puzzle endoscopists. There is no standard operating procedure for addressing these complications. The cases described in the current study can provide some reference for others.

BACKGROUND Bainbridge-Ropers syndrome (BRPS) is a severe disorder characterized by failureto thrive, facial dysmorphism, and severe developmental delay. BRPS is caused bya heterozygous loss-of-function mutation in the ASXL3 gene. Due to limitedknowledge of the disease and lack of specific features, clinical diagnosis of thissyndrome is challenging. With the use of trio-based whole exome sequencing, weidentified a novel ASXL3 mutation in a Chinese boy with BRPS and performed aliterature *** SUMMARY A 3-year-old Chinese boy was referred to our hospital due to progressivepostnatal microcephaly and intellectual disability with severe speech impairmentfor 2 years. His other remarkable clinical features were shown as follows: Facialdysmorphism, feeding difficulties, poor growth, motor delay, and abnormalbehavior. For the proband, regular laboratory tests, blood tandem massspectrometry, urine gas chromatographic mass spectrometry, karyotype, hearingscreening, and brain magnetic resonance imaging were performed, with negativeresults. Therefore, for the proband and his unaffected parents, trio-based wholeexome sequencing and subsequent validation by Sanger sequencing wereperformed. A novel nonsense variant in exon 11 of the ASXL3 gene (c.1795G>T;p.E599*) was detected, present in the patient but absent from his parents. Takinginto account the concordant phenotypic features of our patient with reportedBRPS patients and the detected truncated variant located in the known mutationalcluster region, we confirmed a diagnosis of BRPS for this proband. Therehabilitation treatment seemed to have a mild *** In this case, a novel nonsense mutation (c.1795G>T, p.E599*) in ASXL3 gene wasidentified in a Chinese boy with BRPS. Thermal mixing and stratification phenomena may occur during the loss of a coolant accident or main steam line break accident in the containment of a Passive Containment Cooling System, or in the suppression pools in BWR. However, the present study pays insufficient attention to the thermal stratification phenomena in the containment of small modular reactors(SMR). In this paper, an investigation on the mixing and thermal stratification phenomena caused by the plumes or buoyant jets in SMR containments was carried out. The experiments were both conducted under non-adiabatic and adiabatic conditions for a steel containment. In each condition, two key parameters, inlet temperature, and flow rate were tested by controlling variables to identify their influence on the thermal stratification phenomenon. The visualization experiments illustrated the jet mixing and stratification development. The experiment results were compared with the numerical computation and they reached a good agreement.

Objective Several studies have indicated that miR-15a,miR-15b and miR-16 may be the important regulators of *** attenuate apoptosis could protect myocardium and reduce infarction size,the present study was aimed to find out whether these miRNAs participate in regulating myocardial ischemia reperfusion （I/R） *** Apoptosis in mice hearts subjected to I/R was detected by TUNEL assay in vivo,while flow cytometry analysis followed by Annexin V/PI double stain in vitro was used to detect apoptosis in cultured cardiomyocytes which were subjected to hypoxia/reoxygenation （H/R）.Taqman real-time quantitative PCR was used to confirm whether miR-15a/15b/16 were involved in the regulation of cardiac I/R and H/*** Compared to those of the controls,I/R or H/R induced apoptosis of cardiomyocytes was significantly iucreased both in vivo （24.4％ ± 9.4％ vs.2.2％ ± 1.9％,P ＜ 0.01,n =5） and in vitro （14.12％ ±0.92％ vs.2.22％ ± 0.08％）.The expression of miR-15a and miR-15b,but not miR-16,was increased in the mice I/R model,and the results were consistent in the H/R *** Our data indicate miR-15 and miR-15b are up-regulated in response to cardiac I/R injury,therefore,down-regulation of miR- 15a/b may be a promising strategy to reduce myocardial apoptosis induced by cardiac I/R injury.

In order to improve the influence of the uncertain and dynamic of node enterprise behavior on the performance of supply chain,the method based on stochastic process algebra for description,analysis,validation and evaluation of supply chain business process model is ***,the description of the uncertainty of node enterprise behavior is given using the extended Unified Modeling Language sequence diagram,and mapping rule is defined from the extended Unified Modeling Language sequence diagram to stochastic process ***,on the basis of the acquired stochastic process algebra model,the supply chain business process model is verified with Mobility ***,according to the operational semantics of stochastic process algebra,the continuous-time Markov chain,isomorphic with stochastic process algebra model,is built; and the system performance evaluation of transient status and stable status is respectively conducted in accordance with Markov transfer relations and the current state of system,obtaining the predicted performance value and average performance index value for a specific period of *** simulation experiments show that the proposed method can accurately describe the stochastic behaviors of supply chain system and interactions among nodes,effectively verify the validity of the model,and objectively and exactly evaluate design of the supply chain.
